Though Giyu’s vision was blurred, the changes in Rengoku were obvious. His skin, once tanned, was now an unnatural gold-bronze, as if he was permanently cast in the light of a raging fire. As he spoke, his eyes darted around the room nervously; his sclera were no longer white but a deep unnatural maroon, his irises a shimmering, reflective gold. His tight smile now betrayed a row of gleaming fangs. Giyuu’s sword clacked against the scabbard as he unsheathed it, his hand shaking hard enough to make him worry he’d drop it.
...All Giyuu ever wanted after Kyojuro’s death was just to see him one more time, to get the chance to tell him everything he’d never been able to say. But when Kyojuro does return, mysteriously and posthumously turned into a demon, Giyuu grapples with the memory of the man he knew and the creature he’s become. Their bid to return Kyojuro to his old self leads the both of them further and further into darkness, with allies they never expected. Can they find a way to undo what's been done? Or will the process itself bring Kyojuro past the point of no return?
