Chapter Text
Donatello Hamato, was the resident genius and kid prodigy of this generation of the Hamato clan. At the ripe age of 14 he and his brothers had once and for all defeated the evil spirit known as Oroku Saki or The shredder.
At 15 he and his brothers defeated the evil alien race known as the Krang, an infamous form of terror that could only be described as a demon. Once locked away in a prison dimension by the great warriors of the past, and released by nun other than the infamous foot clan, they locked them away once again, presumably never to be seen again.
Donatello Hamato at age 15 has now created possibly the greatest creation in all history. A concept only dreamed of by even the greatest minds on the planet.
Donatello Hamato had created a Time Machine.
Well… theoretically.
No, actually he didn’t make anything, it just made him feel better about the situation they were in.
It happened about a month after the-not-invasion, everyone was pretty much at the end of their recovery.
Raphs eye was all healed, At least the scarring around it was. Unfortunately he would not be able to see out of it properly again, it would always be blurry. But he got a cool eye patch!
Leo was still experiencing slight pain in his right leg, and probably would be for the rest of his life. Permanent nerve damage and all, so Donnie made a cream for him to put on to soothe the pain for a bit, and it would need to be reapplied every 12 hours or so.
Donnie’s shell had several puncture wounds from connecting to the Technodrome and still has phantom sensations all over his body, of the slimy tentacles wrapped around his torso and legs, preventing him from sleeping and working. Plus his arm still hurt from both the Krang punching him and assisting Mikey opening the portal to save the slider in blue, but he would just use the cream he made for Leo. As for the psychological irritation a weighted blanket and noise cancelling headphones usually did the trick.
And Mikey had shaky hands like never before, not to mention the scare he got from not only believing he lost his brother, but also the sight of his brother being pulled into an alien ship and soon after seeing his face literally melting, all that paired with the scars on his arms, that were mostly healed over, but still hurt, so the same method of the cream was all they needed.
Needless to say, they were all having nightmares about the whole ordeal.
Turns out Draxum, not unlike most of the other yokai, had been trapped in the hidden city.
But of course after hearing about the mess the boys had gotten themselves into, he came as soon as he could, to help them clean themselves up and teach Mikey some tricks for controlling his newfound power.
That brings us to the start, Mikey had been reviewing the strategies that Draxum left with him to practise when he wasn’t there.
But one time there was a bit too much of a ‘spark’ for him to handle and it all went out of control. Mystic chains circled the tv room which currently housed all four turtle brothers. Leo was laying in Raphs lap, watching a Jupiter Jim movie, he couldn’t remember which one. And Donnie was on the bean bag snuggled in a purple blanket scrolling on his phone.
When the flash of orange spread across the room, nobody was expecting it, much less when the chains started wrapping around them and pulling them into a swirling orange vortex that dissipated with a blip of orange and white sealing their way back.
————————
Consciousness was… a feeble thing at best. It felt like they had been thrown through a wash and dry cycle 5 times in a row, and everything was stuffed with cotton and lint.
It’s unclear how long it took to reclaim awareness of his surroundings, but it came eventually.
Long soft overgrown grass graced his plastron and face, wait nevermind not his face.
He raised his head much to his dismay, as his neck cracked and he let out a pained groan, it took a moment to open his eyes because of the piercing light assaulting his retinas.
It was blurry at first, but it faded into focus, boy was it bright, he sat in aw, and his jaw dropped. huge flowers breaking out of demolished buildings, overgrown grass and weeds covering once pristine cobblestone paths and cracked concrete roads.
He suddenly felt a hand fall on his shoulder, he flinched in surprise and craned his head up for a possible assault, only to see his brother, who he would never admit was like his twin, because he wasn't. it wasn't biologically possible for them to be twins, they didn’t even look alike.
“Hey Dee, you with me?” It was still a bit muffled but he could hear it, he gave a curt nod, still admiring the huge flowers as he slowly began to get to his feet, with his brother's help.
“So, what’s the deal here, different universe? Timeline?” He said it so nonchalantly, as if it had happened so many times before.
“Where's Raph and Mikey?”
Leo looked around the clearing they were currently housed in.
“Well, they're not here.” he said as he scratched his head.
Donnie looked down at his non-existent wrist gauntlet and powered up his ninpo, creating a hologram esk screen and scoffed at the lack of wifi or even cellular connection, creating his own program. His frown deepened when he saw no sign of his brother's trackers.
He leaned down and created a small analysis lab, just a few components, Leo just sat down and watched.
“‘Nardo, how bout you get a soil sample from over by that stream,” he pointed at a water pipe dripping into a small line of water along the side of a building.
“But I just sat down!” He protested.
At the complaint he created a small, purple hued vial and threw it at his brother, Leo caught it and faked a whiney groan and walked over to the stream.
As Donnie sat there he continued looking at the unfamiliar scenery, admiring a particularly purple and violet flower, he heard what sounded like… music?
There isn’t any signal here let alone techno music, he stood up and began walking toward the sound.
It was coming out of a flower, and as he got closer he started seeing what looked like disco lights, no that wasn’t right, more like a dance rave.
He peered into the flower and saw… Bees… Bees with… little tiny leather jackets, and shiny eyes and stingers.
Before he could analyse it further, he heard a yell from his brother, followed by a loud caw from what sounded like a cardinal.
But it was way too loud to be a bird.
He turned around and saw his brother running towards him being chased by a giant red cardinal.
But before he could give an actual reaction, Leo had grabbed his arm and started pulling him along, before picking up a stray piece of rebar and forcing his ninpo into it to form a sword, cutting a portal through the air, And landing them in one of the buildings.
He quickly covered his mouth to mute his rapid breaths, and looked out the side of the broken wall they were currently holding behind, to see the monstrously big bird, seemingly looking for them.
————————-
Even after the bird left, they stayed in the building. Donnie recreated the mini lab and got the sample of soil from Leo, they sat there for a few hours waiting for the results.
By the time they came, it was dark out, and Leo had started a fire, as Donnie looked at the results, his heart sank.
The level of Nitrogen in the soil was insane compared to the level he would find in the dirt in New York, so either the elements in the ground and air are highly unstable, and the fire would soon combust further and send them both to the equivalent of hell, or..
Seeing as how that should have happened long before this…
“What’s that face for? What’s it say?” Leo interrupted his thoughts, and he continued out loud.
“Due to the amount of nitrogen in the dirt-“
“English please.” Leo interrupted again,
Donnie scowled. “Either we’re about to blow up, or Mikey’s portal sent us about,” he paused, mounting numbers and counting on his fingers. “I would say, 200 years in the future. ish.”

Chapter Text
The future was… anticlimactic? But also overwhelming at the same time, it was nothing like he had expected considering that they had prevented the apocalyptic future.
But this also looked nothing like Casey jr. had described. After getting comfortable, well, as comfortable as they could get in a world like this, After some searching the area, Donnie discovered the entire city they were in was not completely covered in flowers and strange dancing bees.
No, there were also giant dragonflies, snail trucks, and mutant frogs? Or Yokai. Either way they were walking talking beings that appeared to know the way around the area.
Ok so maybe talk to them later, if they haven’t left after he got Leo of course. As he made his way back to the campsite he stepped on a partially loud twig that snapped under the pressure.
“ Wow, that was convenient, he said without a hint of sarcasm.”
“What was that!” The big frog said, looking around.
Seemingly seeing Donnie he yelled “Hey you!”
And was he going to respond? Of course not! He kept walking like he didn’t hear a thing, that is until a large slimy pink tendril shot past his side.
Large.
Slimy.
Pink.
Tendril.
All keywords in that sentence.
Now some would have said that he overreacted, but in his mind it was more than the right thing to do. 100%, yep, great decition.
Without hesitation and at frightening speeds he knelt down, picked up a twig, poured his ninpo into it forming his bo, and slammed it up at the tendril with as much force as mutantly possible.
And ran.
Ran as fast as he could, all the while trying not to pay attention to the freakish devils that tried to take over the planet.
After what was probably a few minutes of running the fright wore off and he slowed to a speed walk.
“Stupid, stupid, stupid,” he said banging his fist on his head, “there goes any chance of a civil conversation,”
He walked a few more metres then stopped, gripping the tales of his mask. “Stupid, they were frogs, that was their tongue! But even so, ew ew ew ew they shot their tongue at me!”
He shivered at the thought of touching someone else’s tongue, and slapped where his cheeks would be with both hands.
No, no, don’t think about that, that’s gross just keep walking and get back to…
Looking around at his surroundings he noticed that due to his running, he was now completely lost, and the ache in his arm was returning to taunt him even further, realising that the same would be for Leo.
“Crap! Crap! Crap! We don’t even have our stuff here!”
Suppressing the urge to scream for his brother, he remembers the frogs, and revues the pros and cons of attempting a conversation.
On one scenario, they could be nice and help him around, forgiving his previous outburst,
But on the other they could be jerks and try to get revenge.
How hard has he hit his tongue? Considering the circumstances it was probably really hard.
He kept walking and rambling to himself, and he eventually ended up on the top of a hill, which gave him a pretty nice view of the city.(in all of its demolished glory)
He was looking out at the now setting sun(guess he zoned out for longer than he thought) when he noticed something, possibly even his savour.
A slim but steady line of black smoke, plumbing up from the ground.
Leo. He told Leo to make a fire at about this time considering how cold it got last night, which wasn’t the coldest but they were warm blooded and got cold really quick, you can't fight genetics. so that had to be him right?
Embracing the new found warm feeling in his chest he hopped up to his feet and started sliding down the hill towards the smoke.
Until something warm and wet wrapped around his torso and arm, pulling him backward, the chill that went up his spine was unreal, it felt so familiar, and not in a good way.
It was almost like the real thing. He could already feel the tendrils piercing his shell, worming their way around his body, from the inside out, the pain of getting his consciousness ripped from his body and forced into a massive warship had been seared into his brain, as a painful memory of what it’s like to gain the closest thing to immortality.
(A pair of hands grabbed his shoulders.)
All the knowledge pumped into his brain all at once. His brain felt so fragile, like it would pop like a grape, crushed under the weight of a mountain. the loss and triumph, the blood and tears, the pain and agony, that was caused by the slimy and yet cold metallic claws of the Krang.
(Words were spoken, but went unheard.)
Everything hit him all at once, like a dam finally giving out after decades of wear and tear. Like one crack got that bit too big and the walls started to crumble, a constant flow of the screams of agony, from a never ending river crashing against the walls of his feeble brain (such an inconvenience) a singular thread holding the records of all the worlds that had fallen, the city’s and empires that were raised, and reduced to nothing but ash and dust. The war and…
Everything stopped.
For a moment there was nothing.
An agonising moment, that felt like aeons in the meir second it truly was.
And the next was a bright flash of a familiar, purple light
(him)
Then everything was moving. So, SO, fast.
The sickening warmth around his body disappeared, and the hands let him go.
(the connection severed)
He could hear more yelling, but couldn’t make sense of any of it. It was all so frustrating! Embarrassing even! He hated the numbness of it all! The light seemed to get brighter the more he stressed.
He felt another hand on his shoulder, but this time it was comforting, light. with three digits instead of five.
It brought a kind warmth to his mind and body, instead of its gross wet counterpart.
A streak of warmth slid down his cheek, and soaking his mask.
He was crying wasn’t he?
He brought his hand up to his face to stop the dripping, only to fail miserably, as the tears just kept rolling from his eyes and down his face.
Only then did he notice just how hard he was breathing, and his heart was racing like mad.
He once again heard a voice, this time it broke through his mental wall and reached his ears.
“…on..”
“D..n.e”
“Donnie!”
That was Leo.
“Donnie, I need you to take a deep breath.”
He tried to take in a breath but all that he could manage was a pathetic cough and a pitiful sob.
“Donnie, I need you to tell me 3 things you can touch right now.”
3 things?
“Cold, my bo, the grass.”
Grass?
“Ok good now 3 things you can smell”
He took a deep breath through his nose,
“Umm, dirt, smoke,”
He took another breath.
“Pollen.”
“Nice. Now 3 things you can see.”
His eyes began to clear.
“The ground, a rock,”
He looked up to see his brother looking him in the eyes.
“You.”
“Awsome!”
Leo cheered,
“Great to have you back little brother,”
“We’re the same age.”
“yah, but I’m still a bit older than you.”
The two sat in silence for a few moments before Leo broke it.
“so, who were those frog guys anyway?”
The frogs, right, there were no Krang here, they were frogs.
“I’m not entirely sure myself. I was looking around when I saw them talking and went to get you so we could talk to them for some information, but I conveniently stepped on a stick and that caught their attention.”
He sighed.
“they started to yell at me and I kept walking away, but they shot their tongue at me and I panicked,”
He didn’t need to say anything more than that, Leo out of anyone would understand.
“Ok, got it.” Leo said.
There was another pause.
“How did you even get here that fast?”
“What'd you mean?”
“Like, I saw the smoke, it was like a kilometre away.”
“Smoke? Dude you popped up next to me.” Leo waved his hands at him with an excited grin,
oh…
He teleported…
HE teleported,
“Wait, I teleported?!”
“Yeah! It was awesome, almost like mine but purple,”
He continued “Wait, can we Go back three steps here, smoke? There was smoke?”
“Ya there was, I thought that was you.”
“no I just started one now, i was about to, but then you popped up”
So… was there another group there? Could it have been the frogs? Or someone or something else.
Donnie looked up at the sky, attempting to find the smoke he had seen before but it was too dark to see anything that far off.
They would just need to stay the night and find out what it was in the morning. With the frogs around, they needed to get out of here as soon as possible.
“Hey Dee? It looks like you got… get ready for this one… Jumped!”
He looked at his brother in blue with a deadpan, squinting his eyes with the most malice he could muster, as the other just snickered at his own joke.
Yes, definitely, as soon as possible.

Does that matter? Also no!
Anyways, don’t be surprised if it isn’t updated frequently, this is still a side project, but do not fear! it is not abandoned, quite yet.
Chapter Text
Some rumours have been going around the family lately, apparently there are some new mutes in town, and they don’t know who’s on top.
Two mob frogs walked across the lake of lily pads, one practically cradling their tongue.
“Damn, that kid can hit hard.” He groaned as he carefully poked at the rather large bruise blossoming on his tongue.
“What the hell even was that?” The other demanded, looking confused,as he scratched his head. “Some kind of lizard, or a gecko maybe?”
“Forget that! You saw what he did to the stick! How can anyone possibly do that!”
“Is there a problem here?”
Both frogs stiffened at the voice, the sound of flies filled the air and a small crowd began to gather around the boss who was now standing in front of them.
“You're both late! I expected you here an hour ago, what's with the hold up?”
The two looked at eachother, and back at the boss.
“We came across a complication, there was someone watching us, and we ended up following them for a bit.”
She looked sceptical.
“How is that relevant?”
“Well after we called out to them, they just attacked us!”
“Ya! And they picked up a stick and… made it bigger! Out of nothing!”
Well that was new
“They, what?”
The two relaxed a bit
“they picked up a stick and made it glow somehow”
“Then it turned really big!”
It wasn't just new, it was concerning.
After a moment of silence she spoke again.
“take a team and find this new mute, I think I need to have a word with them.”
To say the two were relieved was an understatement, not only had they been pardoned for being late, but they were now the lead of a search team. The boss had not been very forgiving ever since the whole Jamakk, and mega bunny incident, and him joining the HMUFA thing with the burro girl, so this was a blessing of its own.
6 frogs and two cars with dragonflies set out not an hour and a half later. sent out to the last known place of the lizard, to do some searching, after some time had passed and there was still no site of them, the group members were about to call it a night.
But then they heard a voice, it was quick and quiet like nervous rambling, something about not having anything here, whatever that meant.
Tree frogs split from the group and followed the sound, to a large hill, overlooking the city, with a lean figure sitting down, looking out over the sunset.
“Dark green scales, purple mask and backpack(?) black leg and arm wrappings” they could remember the description of the Mute they were looking for, and this one fit the account.
With a discrete signal to the others in the group, the three proceeded forward, just as the Mute sprung up and started running towards a line of smoke.
As quick as they stood, one of the three shot his tongue forward and it wrapped around the Mute’s torso and arm. Effectively preventing them from moving, except the other arm but they didn't seem to be moving at all anyways.
It was like they were paralysed. not moving even an inch in protest as an attempt to escape. Needless to say it was easy to pull them in.
But when they did start glowing once they picked them up. They could now see the look of absolute terror in the face of the lizard. Don't get them wrong, they knew the mob frogs were scarry and should be feared by their enemies, but this was almost too far.
Yes they did start panicking when the markings on the arms of the Mute started to glow purple. No they didn’t stop trying to get them into the car, nor did they stop when the hissing and distressed chirping began. And the glowing got brighter.
They only stopped when the light erupted further and engulfed all four of them, at first it was like they were all just blinded by the light, soon after being in the light there feet were no longer on the touching the dirt, and they were falling from, not far off the ground, in a completely different area than before.
Once they hit the ground again they were met with another Mute, this time with brighter scales and a blue mask instead of purple, they also seemed to have a shell, so it was probably safe to assume that they were both some kind of turtle.
This one also had two katanas instead of a staff, and an angry look on his face as soon as he saw them. He stood up with a barely noticeable limp, and sliced the air with one of the katanas.
It took a moment of confusion to realise the ground was no longer beneath them and they fell through a blue and white circle under them, releasing their captive in the process.
They fell into the water of a pond near the mob frog main base, landing with a splash of mud and dirty water, they only had time to see the other side of the wormhole with the new Mute rushing to help the other. but it quickly closed with a blip as one of them jumped up to reach it.
They were all in shock, including the others that were nearby to see the spectacle.
They needed to find out who these new Mutes were and fast.
