Mass Effect Zenith Point AU concept

Summary:

An AU that I've started long-term development on which combines the universes of multiple fandoms, primarily the five listed in the fandom tags. This work is not an actual story but the concept of one.

Notes:

IMPORTANT REMINDER: This is NOT a fanfiction that you can read. It probably will never be released or actually written because of how extensive it is. I don't usually do fandom fusions but this one is just a concept that I couldn't get out of my head. Updates will be far and few between because of other factors. If you want to pick it up yourselves, go ahead.

Chapter 1: Premise and In Want of a Nail examples

Summary:

The basic concept of this AU and then examples of major changes in the lore of this AU.

Chapter Text

A crossover/fandom fusion of the lore of the Mass Effect trilogy, Titanfall, My Hero Academia, Overwatch and Horizon. The AU focuses on a version of humanity from the former universe which possesses the level of technology of the latter with influences of the other three and several other universes.

  • The timeline follows the events of Mass Effects 1 through 3 and Andromeda. Events of other fandoms are added over time in spots that would suit these times in the context of the Mass Effect canon and not clash with other events.
  • Humanity reached technological singularity on Earth prior to learning about Mass Effect fields. This already makes them far superior to other races. They achieved the singularity exactly when they created AURORA (the Omnic in the Overwatch shorts that explained the cause of the Omnic Crisis).
  • The above point was the same for the Protheans; they achieved technological singularity and were starting to overthrow the Reapers as the most advanced race so the Reapers invaded ahead of schedule to deal with the Protheans as soon as possible before they could take the Reapers out. However, thanks to their advanced technology and that they knew more than the Reapers realised, more Protheans than just Javik survived the previous cycle, in bunkers on planets like Ilos and Eden Prime.
  • Around the same time, Humanity developed Quirks which proved to be a major advantage over the Omnics during the war. Instead of heroes being the only ones who are able to use their Quirks, other professions can use them, including the military.
  • Overwatch is still around and one of its divisions is a collective of the Earth's best Pro Heroes, in vein of the Avengers, Justice League or canon Overwatch.
  • Quirks and Biotics are both listed as meta-abilities and thus Biotics are taken better care of.
  • Quirkless people either have "invisible" or passive Quirks or have a "cold" Quirk that was shut down by the body because something didn't work during its development; if the Quirk was activated, it would kill the user. Regardless, "Quirkless" discrimination is punished harshly.
  • After the Omnic Crisis, laws came into place that made them equals to humanity, allowing them to form their own nations and cultures. However there is still some anti-Omnic sentiment in parts of the world.
  • Besides AURORA and the Omnics, other forms of Artificial Intelligence became integral to humanity such as those used in the Titan military platforms and the terraforming network Zero Dawn.
  • Far Zenith started off the same as the Horizon canon but following the Omnic Crisis merged with Faro Automated Solutions and Miriam Technologies to form a new Far Zenith that pioneered the technologies humanity and Omnics use today including the Sirius Biosuits, green robotics, the Zero Dawn terraforming network and life extension therapy.
  • The IMC is still around and is the parent company of ExoGeni.
  • Cerberus contains members of Talon; TIM is a puppet, a Quirkless clone of All for One.
  • Human territories include the Frontier and Outlands and are collectively known as the Frontier.
  • Instead of the Systems Alliance, there is the Frontier Systems Alliance.
  • Starships belonging to the Frontier Systems Alliance still use the canon naming convention but the designs are inspired by canon and legends Star Wars ships, notably Star Destroyers.
  • After encountering Humanity, the galactic community is fearful of their potential and their use of A.I. especially among the Turians, despite a Turian spectre being the one to first meet humanity.
