A letter regarding Bingley's lease lay unanswered over a fortnight later: so long as it remained thus he might put off making a decision about Netherfield, as if a return to those oh too few blissful days were possible.
But he could and would not impose on Miss Bennet against her wishes. Ergo his–regarding the property or the lady–were quite immaterial.
