Chapter Text
In the living room, Tom was laying down on the sofa, with a bottle of smirnoff loosely in his hand. He took the bottle and brought it up to his mouth, taking a sip of the smirnoff. Blacking in and out of reality, Tom rolled over onto his side, looking at the TV. He was too drunk to pay attention to the TV, so he opted to just stare at the TV.
Chugging out of the bottle, Tom heard a creaking noise coming from upstairs. Tom thought that this was… Well, odd to say the least. It was later at night, no one normally was up this late. Tom sat up on the sofa, turning his head to the stairs.
Greeted by Matt at the bottom of them. Matt was, to say the least, the last person Tom expected to be awake at this hour. Not only was he the first to be asleep, but Tom knew Matt for sleeping pretty well. To be honest, Matt was the most put-together out of the group of four.
Tom raised his head and gave Matt a weak wave, Matt waved back.
“H-Hey Matt!” Tom said, his speech slurred.
It wasn’t surprising to Matt to see Tom so drunk. Well, It wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who knew Tom that he was drunk at this hour.
“Ah, Tom…” Matt said, “What are you doing up still?” Matt asked.
Tom watched Matt go past the living room and into the kitchen. Tom sat back down on the sofa, trying to find an excuse besides just him being drunk. Their wasn't anyother believable answer.
“I… I’ve had to m-much to d-drink” Tom's speech slurred.
Tom put down his bottle of smirnoff on the floor, well more of it fell out of his hand. Tom laid back, his head was pounding and it felt like a weight was on his head, it felt terrible to continue sitting up. He mumbled to no one in particular. He flopped onto the couch, trying to hide his head in a pillow. He hoped that it would numb the pain. Tom curled up into a ball, hiding his face in the dark.
As Tom lay there trying to numb the horrible pain in his head, he could hear faint sounds coming from the kitchen. Which was to be expected, Tom did see Matt in there. He must have come down for something to drink, or a snack. Whatever the case was the house went silent. For longer than Tom would like to admit.
As Tom was about to fall asleep, he felt a blanket being placed on him. Tom opened his eyes, wondering what was up.
“Hmmh.. what” Tom quietly mumbled.
Tom rolled over, laying on his back. Looking down on the sofa, he saw one of his blankets… This was from his room, did Matt get this for him? Looking up, he saw Matt standing over him, he looked very worried. He couldn’t understand why Tom did this to himself.
“Please Tom, stop drinking so much..” Matt mumbled.
Matt held out a glass of water for Tom to take. Reluctantly Tom took the glass of water, taking a small sip out of it. Matt seemed to cheer up, he let out a small smile to Tom.
“I… Don’t n-need your h-help” Tom mumbled, his speech still slurred.
Tom never understood why Matt cared so much about him… but Tom would be lying if he said, he didn’t enjoy being cared for now and again.
Looking away from Matt, Tom looked like a child… Matt got irritated at this, he was only trying to help! Matt started to take a couple of deep breaths, Tom was drunk, he couldn’t stay too mad at him.
“Yes, you do need the help, Tom you are a wreck,” Matt said, giving off a playful smile.
Tom rolled his eyes, who was Matt to tell him that he needed his help? Sure he could admit that he was better with Matt there, but he didn’t need Matt there. To help him when he was drunk or any other time, he was fine… By himself.
Drinking the rest of the glass of water, Tom set it down on the table. He sat back on the sofa, looking over to Matt.
“N-Now that y-you’ve done… W-What you wanted t-to do, you c-can leave me alone” Tom mumbled, very quietly.
Matt let out a small laugh, “okay, okay I’m leaving” Matt said, turning off the living room lights.
He ruffled Tom’s hair before he started to walk away, going back to the stairs.
Tom was pissed off. What the fuck, he hated having his hair touched! Not hated, he absolutely despised having his hair touched. He knew he had told Matt this before, so why was it that Matt would do that!?
Tom sat back up, poking his head out from behind the sofa. He was looking at Tom, his expression was really pissed off…
“Matt, what was that!? Don't touch my fucking hair” Tom growled.
Matt looked back at Tom, a little surprised that he wasn’t slurring his voice, maybe he was sobering up now. As well, he was surprised Tom was yelling at him!
“Sorry Tom, I forgot” Matt apologized, feeling terrible.
Tom looked away from Matt, still displeased with him, “That’s not a thing you just forget about” Tom growled quietly, just loud enough for Matt to hear.
“Tom, I don’t have all the time to remember every little detail about you” Matt mumbled, getting more agitated at Tom.
“It’s not that serious anyhow, it’s me touching your hair” Matt paused.
“I barely even touched your hair, it’s not the end of the world” Matt groaned, rolling his eyes.
Not that serious? Tom was aggravated, to say the least. Matt didn’t just decide what was a big deal or not for him! That would be stupid, Matt should care about how Tom felt about this situation a little more than he seemed to.
Tom reached his hand behind him, grabbing the empty bottle of smirnoff from off the table. In a fit of anger, Tom threw the bottle of smirnoff at Matt’s head. The bottle shattered into pieces, smashing on the side of Matt’s head. Matt tripped on the stairs, luckily catching himself before he fell to the floor, or fell down the stairs.
Matt angrily looked back at Tom, seeing his head peeping out from the couch and Tom was sitting there, flipping him off.
Tom stuck his tongue out at Matt before laying back down on the sofa. He laid his head down on a sofa pillow, grabbing onto the blanket he was given. He pulled it up, over his head. He hoped that he black out soon, hoping to forget about the happenings of tonight.
