A small Pained groan escapes her lips, her eyes cracked open slightly as she looked at the time, it was nearly 4 in the morning. She shivers a little feeling pain in her lower stomach. She placed her paw on her stomach and whimpered in pain.
She felt hot and cold at the same time and slowly pulled herself up panting lightly, she felt the pain in full force causing her to fall to the ground on her knees, clutching her stomach , her legs felt so weak that it feels like jelly, it was like her body was just sensitive.
”Ngh…why now..” She huffed and slowly got up making her way to the bathroom, she glanced down at her night wear and gritted her teeth a bit when she saw a patch of blood, that’s going to be annoying to wash later, that was for sure. She took off her pants and threw it in the laundry hamper along with her underwear and shakily grabbed different clothes.
She turned on the water so that she could take a shower and get rid of this sweat, she felt the hot water go deep into her fur and skin and sighed in relief even if it was for a little bit. She didn’t like getting her fur wet but this was better than what was happening earlier. She was still panting and turned off the water when she had enough.
The pain was still there, it was still strong and she did not like it at all. She struggled to get out of the bath and dried herself with a towel and puts on some new clothes, she did feel better but the discomfort did not go away. Most would say the pain was normal but for hers it clearly wasn’t.
She struggled to walk back in the bedroom and opens the cabinet of her nightstand and groaned when she realized that she ran out of medicine.
”Of all the …ugh..” She face palm herself and plopped right down on the bed, she wasn’t even sure if she was going to be able to go into work today, which was in a couple of hours right now.
She could barely stand, let alone walk with this much pain, she even felt a little nauseous as well, it made her feel light headed. She can only hope that by the time she wakes up that the pain was a least somewhat manageable.
However, it didn’t. She was not able to sleep at all without the constant discomfort and pain, she body was starting to feel a little sore, specifically her thighs, stomach and back. She laid on her side panting from the constant pain and she glanced at the time once more. It was now 6:30 am and the pain still didn’t improve or even lighten up.
No choice but to call out, she didn’t want to be the one passing out on the job. She grabbed her phone and decided that it was best to call out, she felt bad for having her other co workers having to pick up her slack. Luckily they were understanding. She sighed in relief and puts her phone down.
After two hours her phone was buzzed a few times and glances at it and saw the name Rouge. A close friend of hers, she groaned and forgot that she technically works at the same place as her and Shadow, well not exactly but both companies do tend to collaborate with each most of the time. She gets paid rather well much like Rouge and Shadow does.
Rouge: Hey Hon..I heard you called out.
She lightly clicked her teeth, oh right she had that meeting. She was suppose to go to their bundling later in the day, the pain made her forget.
Y/N: Hi Rouge..yeah I am not feeling well. Please don’t worry I left the important documents to my co worker.
Rouge: That’s fine, It’s not like you to call out, Is everything alright?
Right when she was about to text her back , she received another message but this time was Shadow.
Shadow: Hey
Y/N: Hi Shadow, its not like you to text me ^^
Shadow: I heard you were sick. I’m coming over.
Her eyes widened and quickly typed , she definitely didn’t want him to come over , well not now. She was a mess and she didn’t want to explain that she has her period it was much too embarrassing .
Y/N: Wait! No please don’t. You don’t have to!
She didn’t get a response after that. She sighed. Oh my god , Shadow really is going to come over, she knows exactly how he is and he was stubborn. She knows once he sets his mind to something, it is ridiculously hard to change it. She would know considering she has seen it first hand.
She ended up calling Rouge, it didn’t take long for her to pick up.
”Rouge!! You didn’t tell Shadow to come over to my house, did you?” She almost yelled out.
”Calm down, hon. I didn’t, he was the first to find out as a matter of fact.” She smiles. “I thought you be happy to see him.”
”W-What? I mean..I would b-but..”
”But?” Rouge asks.
”It’s …its..that time of the month.” She barely spoke out.
”Oh..”
”What do you mean Oh! Please Rouge, call him! He’s not even responding to my messages right now, he just said he was coming over.” She didn’t think to have Shadow come over for this, it was embarrassing.
”Good Luck, Hon.”
”Wait! Rouge!!” She yelled and the call cuts out.
”Augh…Rouge…Mpph..” She grumbled and a few seconds she heard the doorbell ringing. Right that must be Shadow. She sometimes forgets how fast he can be.
She struggled to get out of bed, she was still in her pjs . She knows she can’t keep him waiting and slowly walked to the door. She opened the door and of course it was Shadow at the door. She saw his quills in perfect and pristine condition as usual.
”H-Hi, Shadow.” She leaned against the door slightly, she didn’t want to stand for long and felt her stomach hurting again, it tends to hurt more when she was standing like this. She noticed that he carrying a bag but before she could ask.
Shadow had already moved and stepped in the house without saying anything and grabbed her arm and drags her back into the bedroom, and she was back in the bed.
Y/N blinks a bit, she wasn’t expecting to be dragged back in her bed, she noticed Shadow’s nose twitch.
”What’s that smell..?”
”Uh..what smell?” She asked.
”Don’t play dumb with me. Did you cut yourself earlier? I smell Blood.” He scowls.
Her eyes widened . “W-Wait you can smell blood? “ She should have known that, he was the ultimate life from .
”Where’s your wound..?” He takes a roll of bandages out of the bag he had earlier.
”W-Wait! You don’t need to do that! It’s not what you think, Shadow.” Her cheeks burned red because of the misunderstanding.
”Quit playing dumb and show me the wound.” He growled.
“I-I’m being serious! I’m on my period..o-okay?” Her face was a bright red, she could feel the embarrassment and shame especially having to explain herself.
Shadow didn’t say anything ,he looked at her but remained quiet. There was simply an awkward silence . The awkwardness was killing her, she should say something.
She slowly got up. “Haha..Sorry Shadow for making you come here for nothing.” She winced when she tried to stand up straight but held her stomach. “Mgh..I’ll make it up to you..Lunch is on me next time.”
Shadow furrowed his brow. “Get back in bed.”
“But-
“Now.”
”R-Right..” She laid back in bed. She saw Shadow walking out the room with his phone in his hand, she wasn’t sure who he was talking to . Maybe he’ll go home soon. This was embarrassing enough as it is.
After a while she did hear him leave her house only for him to come back 10 minutes later, she did hear a small beep. “Mm..?” She saw Shadow walking back in.
”Here..” He lifted up her bed sheets and placed a really warm heat pad against her stomach , she shivered but it felt nice and press her head against the pillow. “That..feels..much better.” She gives a small sigh in relief.
Shadow made a small hum sound.
”Hey..who were you talking to earlier..?”
“Rouge.” He replied and he handed her another thing for her to have.
She looked down and saw it was a chocolate bar that clicked in her mind , it made sense to her how he knew what to do. She smiles . “Thanks Shadow. “ she thought he was being rather sweet and takes a bite out of the candy bar.
Shadow sat there on the side of her bed and only made a small hum sound. He ended up staying over at her house for the entire day, making sure that she wasn’t in pain and she was comfortable.
