His ichor sang as the lies seeped into him to create a gruesome mixture of want and wrath.
She wanted him and wouldn’t tell.
Apollo grasped Percy’s chin and bared her throat. “Sweetheart,” he murmured, “I can tell when you lie.”
She swallowed. “I didn’t lie.”
“Liar,” he breathed out.
The tremors running down her frame were sweet indeed. But her capitulation would be sweeter. And she would give in. Because if she kept hesitating, Lester was going to have to take a step back. And Percy wouldn’t like what denying a god’s adoration really meant.
