Hershey's Kiss Confusion

Summary:

Dick and Wally shenanigans, they were roommates, and gay fluff and all that. Wally gets Hershey's Kisses (not sponsored) on sale after valentines day, because stores always overstock, and idk the plot kinda spirals from there.

Notes:

I honestly hate valentines day, but I want what they have, and will make an acceptation for cute fluff.

I know I'm 15 days late, but technically this takes place after. So, anyways, please excuse the tardiness of something I didn't even promise to anyone but myself. But dam it I'm bad at self inflicted deadlines.

Chapter 1: A Kiss?

Chapter Text

"Want a kiss?" Wally asked, after entering the apartment with bags of groceries from the store.

"W-w-what?!" Dick stuttered back, startled. He turned to look over the couch backing and at Wally who was standing at the counter with three bags from the convenience store. He was unpacking the items, then brought out a bag of Hersey's Kisses, to answer Dick's flabbergasted expression.

"They were half-off because of Valentine's Day. I swear stores always overstock for the holiday." Wally continued ranting about the holiday and commercialism, not noticing the growing blush on his best friend's face. "But hey, better for us, right?"
"S-sure. I'll take o-one." Dick responded. Wally opened the bag of chocolate, taking two out, and then poured the rest into a plastic bag. After setting the bag and the rest of the groceries aside, he brought the kiss to Dick. Handing it to him, then he sat down on the other end of the couch.

"T-thanks." He managed to mutter out. Dick then popped the candy into his mouth, crumpled up the foil and shoved in his pocket, and attempted to hide his blazing red face in the blanket that lay on the cushions. Wally, still oblivious to Dick's clear beet red face, had turned on the TV and began flipping through channels. Nightwing was soon able to retreat into his room after making the excuse of an early shift the next day. Blame it on Batman, and pretend it works.

{time skip- a week or so later (let's be honest, it'd be surprising for them to have any chocolates left, but still)}

"Hey, you want a kiss?" Wally asked from the kitchen.
"Yeah, sure." Dick responded, unfazed, he didn't feel the need to turn around. After a few weeks of having a supply of Hersey's Kisses on their counter, he were pretty much used to it.
" 'Kay." The redhead swiftly scooped up two of the foil wrapped chocolate cones, and sealed the plastic bag chocolates resided in.

A quick thought then passed through Wally's mind, as he approached the couch Dick was curled up on. When he reached the side of the couch, he gave the former boy wonder a peck on his cheek and handed him the chocolate kiss. Then he sped away to his room and shut the door. Sliding against it, he sat down.

Dick sat curled in blankets and pillows on the couch, his mind racing. He wasn't sure if it were even real or his imagination. 'Did Wally just kiss my cheek?' his hand reached up to caress the spot were Wally's lips lay just moments ago. It had to have happened. Dick quickly untangled himself from his blanket pile, falling flat on his face at his first attempt. He got up quickly and ran towards Wally's door. He knocked, then asked, "Hey Wals? You okay?"

The speedster stiffened. He wondered what was going through his best friend's mind. He was hoping that what he did didn't affect their relationship now. Maybe he did want to date Dick, sure, but if even an attempt could shatter their relationship. The odds were something he didn't want to handle, 'I doubt he's even gay.' Wally tried to reason with himself, lowering his self esteem. (Bitch, he's just attracted to redheads.)

His rommate, who was indeed gay (technically bi) and did have a crush on him, continued to knocked on the door repeatedly. Dick just wanted Wally to be okay. After he left like that, he didn't know what to think. Sure, his feelings may have been influencing this a little, or a lot, but he truly cared about Wally. No matter what.

Notes:

and they were roommates. anyways, enjoy the little cliffhanger with these wonderful gays.

idk why i've written two cliffhangers, that involve kissing, then one person running away, and the other following them back to their room, to knock on the door worriedly, back to back, but here we are.

Chapter 2: Confessions

Summary:

The two idiots finally confessed, and just go with it afterwards.

Chapter Text

Dick gave up on trying to ask Wally to let him in, so he just opened the door. The former Robin logically expected his roommate/crush/best friend to be sitting on his bed. However, even detectives can be wrong, and, boy, was he wrong.

A flustered, on the verge of tears, Wally tumbled from the door, as he had been sitting against it just moments before. The guy, who thought he had just ruined the longest standing friendship he's ever had, lay on his back in the doorway just staring up at his best friend. And Dick stared down at the sad boi's face for a moment, before crouching down beside him. They were both still a bit tense over what had happened. They both give awkward smiles, trying to ease this tension they've created, it doesn't work.

"Hi." Wally says breaking the silence, not helping the awkwardness.

"Hi." Dick responded, possibly making it worse. There was another few seconds of silence before words started flowing out of Wally's mouth.

"I'm sooo sorry. Like sooo so so so so sorry. I don't know what came over me. It'll never happen again. I promise. I'm so sorry."

"It's okay." Dick tried to assure him that it was fine. Wally, however, did not believe that.

"I'm really really sorry. Like so sorry-" Wally kept rambling and apologizing many many many times, at such a high speed that Dick could barely make out all the words.

I actually liked it, Wally. He thought, as he listened to the nonstop noise coming from the guy's mouth.

Dick leaned down to kiss Wally, just to shut him up. It did indeed shut him up.

After a beat Wally started again,

"I-i-i-i-i-i-i... what?" Dick just smiled down at him, glad he made that effect.

"W-what?" Wally asked again in disbelief, a blushing mess.

"I know you're good at it and all. but running is not always the best answer."

"Yeah, well-" The redhead was trying to respond, but he couldn't get over that kiss (and not the chocolate kind). "What?" He looked up, confused.

"It's fine." The circus boy tried to reassure again.

"Y-yeah, but you- and and and I... a-and.." Wally exhaled, giving him slight clarity. "..did you just kiss me?"

"You did it first." He pointed out.

"Yeah.. but that was on the cheek." Wally fake pouted, but he was really happy in that moment. He had a chance.

Another beat of silence.

"I like you, too." Dick said.

"T-too? W-when did I ever.. I-I never said anything about m-me liking you."

"Oh, please. You didn't need to say it."

Wally pulled Dick down, pressing his lips to his once more. Neither of them could stop smiling, however, so it wasn't exactly a good kiss.

Best friends who each thought their love was unrequited for years only find out it's very very much requited are allowed to be overly excited/happy.

They were both blushing messes, with wide grins, giggling over the situation, as they pulled away. Both guys gays bi's were able to calm down after a minute.

The quick boi still lay on the ground, but way more relaxed now, while his soulmate was still knelt down beside him. They stared into each other's eyes.

Without warning Dick picked up Wally, in a bridal style fashion. Obviously, the speedster blushed, as anyone would have. The color of his face was what could be described as a similar shade of his hair. He had to admit that it was extremely attractive, the way he had been just picked up.

Having picked Dick, and others, up like this so many times during missions and such, and then getting flustered by it the first time it happens to him, he couldn't help but wonder how his teammates had been able to stay calm. It might have been the adrenaline that kept Nightwing from reacting at all those times, even with these feelings.

Dick sat down on the couch, placing Wally in his lap. He flipped through the selection of movies they had, wanting to just cuddle with Wally while watching something.

The feeling of being in his lap made Wally's brain go into overdrive, trying to process it all. His eyes were fixated on the tv, which was his way of dealing with the embarrassment.

"Wally.exe has stopped working." Dick slyly joked, noticing his reaction.

"S-shut up." Wally pouted, and buried his face into Dick's neck. This shut him up alright, the action had caused his cheeks to burn, as his breathing got quicker. The redhead chuckled into his neck, noticing the change.

This was normal enough for them, but with the admittance of feelings everything changed. Before, cuddles would happen, platonically of course, despite how much they both had wanted more. Before, watching a movie was normal, being close was normal, teasing was normal, but that all changed.

"S-so, uhhhh... I w-was thinking about watching a movie." The flustered Nightwing explained, feeling he had to justify his actions. He muttered the next part, his voice barely audible. "..and maybe we could cuddle."

Wally smiled, still leaning right up against him.

"Romcom?" He suggested.

"I think we just experienced that exact thing.. but sure." Dick responded. "The Princess Bride?"

"'As you wish.'" Wally joked, shifted his position to see the screen, still clinging onto him.

Notes:

And a happy ending.
that has been sitting in a document for a month, that was barely edited before posting, and could have been posted sooner by this idiot of an author.
