Chapter Text

The herd of Yoshis ran across the valley. Their trip to the Flower kingdom with their other friends had gone horribly wrong. Now, there was chaos with Bowser and the whole Wonder Flower diabolic. The Yoshis had agreed to help with this endeavor. It was another adventure after all. So far, everything was going well. There was just one problem

GROWLL

They hadn't had a proper meal in a while.

For a Yoshi, that is a problem. Their digestive system requires them to eat about a quarter of their body weight in a day. On Yoshi island, this is a nonissue due to really good and plentiful fruit that grows everywhere. Now however...

"Yoshi" (I'm huuunnngy. When are we getting food?) Yellow Yoshi asked as the Yoshi squad platformed across the lands. "Yoshi" (Hopefully soon.) Blue Yoshi replied

Then, the clan saw it. The Wonder Flower. It was their first time seeing one away from everyone else. "Yoshi" (Do you think we should touch it?) Yellow Yoshi asked in wonder.

"Yoshi" (I don't know, let's call and wait for some one else and...) Green Yoshi said before seeing something. "Yoshi" (RED GET AWAY FROM THAT FLOWER RIGHT NOW!)

Red Yoshi was about to touch the wonder flower, and looked at his Yoshi compatriots innocently. He then touched the Wonder Flower and reality went out to lunch with a mythical voice yelling out "WONDER!"

The Yoshi's were sucked into the effect and looked around in causion, looking for the means of the wonder. Suddenly, a nearby coin shook and poped, turning into a familiar and delicious shape.

A Yoshi Fruit.

Our heroes looked at the fruit and gasped. FOOD. And by the looks of it, they were raining from the sky.

"YOSHI" They all cried out in relief for food and started to dig in. Their relief quickly turned to Yoshi Paradise. There were 3 things a Yoshi liked and lived for the most in the world. The first was adventure. A Yoshi could spend hours looking around the island for something new, for a quick relief, for a new experience. The second was friendship. Yoshi's were very social creatures, a herd of them typically being about 8 deep. The third and final thing however was food. Diet aside, a Yoshi could spend hours looking for a good meal. This love for food was called by most gluttony. The demigod type would call this a Fatal Flaw. Not watched, a Yoshi could spend hours eating, forgetting everything in a food frenzy. This was a bad thing, but luckly, the Mario Bros had though ahead in case of emergeny and packed some Yoshi travel kits full of food. However, the Mario bros were not here and there was all this food waiting to be eaten.

And eat they did, not watching the time. Hours passed and the Yoshi's just kept eating. They forgot about their Yoshi duties, their friends, their mission. They focused on nothing but food. The only lucky thing to be said is that Yoshi's don't forget their manners when it came down to eating. That was it thought, and the only thing keeping the Yoshis from dissolving into chaos. The really bad thing here, was that noone knew where they were. They would be here for hours.

That is, if not for a little guy called Nabbit. Nabbit was... an enigma. He's not good, but not bad either. A thief by trade, Nabbit got his fortune by stealing from others. However, if there is one thing Nabbit hates more than anything, it's people who swindle him. And Nabbit did not forget the ungodly way those Bowser troops manhandled him long ago. At least those from the Mushroom kingdom had the decency to only go after him if he stole from them. So, he had an unspoken truce with the Mushroom Kingdom, to go after Bowser with them if he ever did something and he was in the area. And he was. Currently, he was scoping out the area, when what does he see to his surprise but the Yoshi's being distracted by food.

Nabbit watched them for a while eating up, just watching, looking for a way to interupt without any risk, when he noticed something odd. A wonder seed. Nabbit knew of their power, and while the Yoshis were distracted, he might as well grab the seed. He went and grabbed it, bringing reality back. With a poof, the Yoshi platter was gone, much to the Yoshi's surprise. Nabbit then looked at them, the Yoshis looking at him with shock. Nabbit then made some sounds, which the author can't understand and will therefor not even try to transcribe. The message was clear though. He left, leaving the Yoshi's to their confusion.

Chapter Text

If there were a list for the top 5 couples in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and Peach would be on there. Not just because of their celebrity status, but because of how sweet the two were, with Mario and Peach’s dates always going swell.

That relationship did hit a slight snag following the events of the failed Bowser/Peach wedding, but the two, after some time apart and an intervention with Pauline of all people (She had seen those two at some point is thought that, even if Mario and her hadn’t worked out for… reasons, that hadn’t meant Mario was unworthy of love.) they were back together, stronger than ever.

And where was the lucky couple right now? Well, they were at the flower kingdom, trying to stop Bowser from doing his EPIC Wonder. The two were confused at what that wonder could be, but knowing Bowser, it could not be good. So, the duo, alongside a lot of their other friends, are on a quest to save the Flower Kingdom

As they raced across the lands, looking for the Wonder seeds they needed to get pass the Dark Piranha Plants, they stopped and noticed something.

A Wonder Flower

That is something that they needed, that is something that will help out in the end. Wonder Flowers gave Wonder Seeds. This Wonder Flower could help.

Mario looked at Peach and gestured towards the flower. With a giggle, Peach went to grab the flower. She then touched the Wonder Flower and reality went out to lunch with a mythical voice yelling out "WONDER!"

Mario and Peach were sucked into the vortex and dropped onto a boat, side by side. The boat then started to move forward, into a tunnel that was most certainly not there before. The couple looked around, before some Popplins popped out of nowhere and started to sing:

Every morning, every evening
Ain't we got fun?
Not much money, oh, but honey
Ain't we got fun?

“Oh” Peach said, a blush starting to form on her face, somewhat recognizing the song from when Mario had played it. Mario for his part had the same blush and looked at Peach, before looking up and realizing something about the walls.

The walls were not blank, but had pictures on them. Said pictures displayed parts of their relationship. From Mario and Peach’s first meeting (Peach judoflipping him was NOT the first story anyone would guess), to the play that was put on because of the great king incident (the real adventure had been more horrifying than the play gave out) to other moments. From baking cakes to various dates, this was not an ordinary tunnel. No, it was their personal tunnel of love, and in the background, the Popplins kept singing:

Even if we owe the grocer
Don't we have fun
Tax collector's getting closer
Still we have fun

Mario looked at Peach, holding his hand out. “Well, if this Wonder Flower has us in our own tunnel of love, we might as well enjoy it, don’t you think?”

Peach looked at the pictures on the wall, then to Mario. She accepted and grabbed his hand, the two snuggled up and just enjoyed the ride, being sad when the seed appeared and they had to grab it, bringing reality back.

Even if we owe the grocer
Don't we have fun?
Tax collector's getting closer
Ooh, what fun
There's nothing surer
The rich get rich and the poor get poorer
In the meantime, in between time
Don't we have fun?

Chapter Text

There were many things to say about Captain Toad.

For starters, he was a living legend, having gone on adventures with the likes of Mario, Luigi, Peach, and even Wario that one time (we do not talk about that one time. Ever.) Despite his claims otherwise, he had gone from a scaredie cat, to someone who doesn’t buckle, doesn’t break. From the 2 space adventures, to dealing with the winged menace of Wingo, everyone was excited to know what was next in Captain Toads career.

That something this time ended up being a trip to the Flower Kingdom. He was currently exploring with the good old fashioned Captain Toad Bravo, when he came across someone, to who looked like she was looking for something.

That someone was Toadette. Not Toadette Kelly, his fateful companion, to who had caught the Blotch and was bedridden for a while, but Toadette Taylor, the Toadette known for being inventive enough to help build some of the various Kingdom Parties, to who recently had gone up and started adventuring with the big shots. He had some big respect for any Toad who could keep up with the big guns, like Bucken-Berry and Ala-Gold.

Looking at Toadette, he watched as she kept looking for something. Deciding to see what was the matter, he scurried over, going out to help.

“Hey-Ho Toadette. What’s up?” He said, trying to sound casual as he approached. Toadette jumped and turned to look at him

"Captain Toad! What are you doing here?" Toadette asked him. "Oh, you know, the usual. Looking for treasure and adventure. What about you?" Toadette looked at him for a second, then explained the big problem she was facing at the moment. Apparently, Bowser had gotten hold of a big Wonder - something that could reshape the world - and she, alongside the Mushroom Kingdom's best, were on their way to try and stop them. In order to stop him, they needed to find stuff called Wonder Seeds, powerful magical artifacts that could reverse the effects of Wonder Flowers. Captain Toad considered this situation for a second. Bowser was messing with world breaking magic. If he kept this up, he could destroy the universe. He did come close once (His first mission actually. It was a wild time), so it was not totally out of the picture that he could do it again. If he didn't do something, things might go from bad, to worse. So, steeling his nerves, he looked right at Toadette and asked "Do you want a partner?"

And off they went. Going over valleys and under trees, looking for something called a "Wonder Flower" that could give the wonder seeds. Eventually, Captain Toad saw a peculiar flower in the distance. Pointing at it, he addressed Toadette. "That the Wonder Flower?" he asked. Toadette nodded and the 2 Captain Toad went and grabbed it. He then touched the Wonder Flower and reality went out to lunch with a mythical voice yelling out "WONDER!"

Suddenly, the area surrounding the 2 toads changed, from lush open forest, to a temple. He looked around the temple, for clues on where the Wonder Seed was, when the ground started to shake. The ground opened up and Dry Bones emerged from the depths. Well that was not good. He looked around for an exit, when he realized something. There was no exit. They were trapped. Uh Oh...

"Think we can take them?" That was Toadette, who pulled out some kind of fruit and got into a battle stance. Captain Toad looked at her, then to the Dry Bones. He reached into his backpack and pulled out a pickaxe. Not the magical kind, unfortunately, but a good pickaxe all the same. "Yeah. Let's do this."

And into battle the 2 Toads got into. Toadette ate the fruit, and with a "WOWIE ZOWWIE," turned into an elephant and got to work, hitting the Dry Bones with her trunk. Captain Toad, for his part, ran up to the nearest Dry Bones, and wacked it with his mighty pickaxe, sending the undead creature to pieces. The two Toads kept this up for a while, keeping the monsters at bay. However, their were only 2 of them and about 12 dozen of the enemy, so the 2 Toads eventally fell. They were now surrounded, the brave captain without a pickaxe, and Toadette without elephant powers. Captain Toad looked around for something to help even the odds. He then spotted a big string of grass. Using his Toad knowlage, he thought about the fact that the floor under them was stone, and not in fact, dirt. Furthermore, he also thought about the fact that blades of grass like this typically had good stuff made it reason enough to pull it. So, Captain Toad jumped out and grabbed the blade of grass, then pulled it. What was once a blade of grass, quickly became a bomb. Said bomb was lit. Uh oh! Captain Toad thought, grabbing the bomb and throwing it. With a big BOOM!, all the Dry Bones fell, and in their place was what Captain Toad could only assume to be a wonder seed. He grabbed it, bringing reality back

"Thank you Captain!" Toadette said, holding the wonder seed. “No problem!” The captain said, striking a pose. “You going to be alright?” He asked in a conserved tone. Toadette nodded, “I think I will be, thanks for the help.

“No problem!” He said, “Take care.” He walked away, noticing from his peripheral vision the brave toad scurrying off. This put a smile on his face. Maybe I should look for more. He thought as he walked away, into the big wild blue.

Chapter Text

“What is even happening?”

That was Luigi, to who had been placed in a most peculiar situation, alongside his girlfriend Daisy, his brother Mario, and Peach, Mario’s girlfriend/person the two sometimes save. Mario for his part just looked perplexed at the chain of events, with Peach having that same look. Daisy, on the other hand, had the exact opposite reaction, looking Luigi with a look in her eyes.

Now then, you might be wondering, what is going on? How did they get into this situation? Well, to answer that, we must go back a few minuets into the past, where our heroes were on the beach, relaxing after the stressful fight against Bowser Jr.  The Toad trio was scouting ahead, looking for more Wonder Seeds, while Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Daisy just sat down and relaxed. Now, you might be wondering "Why are they relaxing, isn't the threat of Bowser very imminent?" Well dear reader, to that I say this: Do you know how much of a workout adventuring can be? Every muscle in one's body is being worked whenever you're doing something like adventuring. IF one doesn't rest the muscles can rip and a hero can go down for the count. Because of this, rest is important. Now I hear you yelling: "What about the Toads? Or the Yoshis?" They never went into the castle, so they are good to go for a while. The Yoshis on the other hand were elsewhere too, Blue helping the Toads, the rest resting elsewhere. 

Now, with all of those questions answered, how did the heroes get here? Well, as they were relaxing, taking some time to feel the breeze and enjoy the view (Facing away from the Bowser castle), Daisy saw a glow from the sand. Wanting to know what was under there, she convinced Luigi to try and dig there. Mario decided to help his brother, as well as get more sand for the sandcastle that they were building. When they dug into the ground, they saw something orange. The two brothers decided to pull it out, oblivious to what it really was: A Wonder Flower. They then touched the Wonder Flower and reality went out to lunch with a mythical voice yelling out "WONDER!" The flower's magic sucked in the brothers and princesses into it's Wonder Effect. All the sudden, the calm beaches were replaced with a stage. A Koopa pooped in front of them with an expression of contemption. 

“Names?” The four heroes looked… confused. “I asked for your names. If you don’t mind” The 4 heroes then looked at each other, having a silent discussion. They then gave out their names. “All right, you ready for the show?”

”Show?” Luigi asked with confusion lacing his voice. “The show,” the Koopa said before turning to a curtain and letting it rise to a cheering audience. “Hello there and welcome to the 39th annual Flower Kingdom fashion show. I”m your host, Harvey Atkoop!” The crowd cheered at this. Daisy turned to Mario, “Fashion show?” She asked. Mario just shrugged at this. Harvey continued, “Behind me are our 4 contestants,” he pointed behind him to our heroes, who had bewildered expressions on their faces, “They will have to show us their best fashion sense, using whatever they can dream of. Now,” he turned to the 4 clueless contestants, “LET’S GET STARTED!”

With that (and a good 39 minutes) later, we return to the present. In which, our heroes look out at the crowd. “So, you guys ready?” Mario asked. “This is nuts Mario, and you know it,” Luigi answered as Mario went into the changing room with his first outfit, ready to present. "Even so Lu, I don't think we have a choice. We need Wonder Seeds." "Besides, this might be fun," Daisy said, "And don't you want to see me in something different?" This got Luigi red in the face. "Ma-maybe..." He started to stutter at this statement. Daisy giggles at this and then gestured to Mario to go out there. He nodded and went onto the runway.

ROUND 1: MARIO

Mario decided to go in an elegant outfit: The Wedding outfit he had for that Moon stunt. Simple? Yes. Elegant? Also yes. The crowd ate up the simple design. Daisy glanced at Peach, who was blushing at the look. "I never realized..." was all she said when asked about it later.

ROUND 1: PEACH

Peach walked out onto the stage, and jaws dropped. Here was a pretty girl in a suit, wielding a raiper. "Mama Mia..." Mario said, almost fainting.

ROUND 1: LUIGI

"Wait, Luigi can rock THAT?" Daisy asked, looking at Luigi's suit and Tux. "Yup, he ran a casino once, you know," Mario said, looking at Daisy as steam clouds came out of her ears.

ROUND 1: DAISY

Daisy came ROARING OUT of the backstage with a sporty look. A soccer outfit that showed everything off perfectly. Peach took a photo of Luigi's reaction, Daisy would want to see this later.

INTERMISSION

"Alright, you guys are killing it out there. We only have time for one more round. Nail it like that, and the prize is yours" The Koopa turned and walked away. The 4 heroes looked at each other. "So, this is most definitely the weirdest thing we've been through yet, right?" Daisy asked Luigi, before seeing the clothes he was going to put on. "I stand corrected." Mario then looked. "This isn't the first time, you know," he said before walking away. Daisy turned and stared. "Wait what? How? Why? Details plumber boy, details!"

ROUND 2: MARIO

Mario walked out onto the catwalk, sporting a classical outfit. Red and green clothes. He even got green hair.

"So how long do you think that took?" Peach said, with a tone of admiration.

ROUND 2: PEACH

Peach backstage, wearing an outfit so beautiful, this author, with his limited fashion writing cannot describe it and saw Mario on the floor, in a heap.

"Was it too much?"

ROUND 2: LUIGI

"Wait what?"

That was Daisy, looking at Luigi sporting Peach's outfit. "When did he do this before?"

"Beanbean Kingdom," Peach said watching as Daisy's face turned redder and redder.

ROUND 2: DAISY

The big finale was here. Daisy walked out and the crowd instantly erupted into cheer. She was in the most elegant outfit: the classic gown, with her classic make up. The crowd erupted at this classical sight.

ENDING

"Thank you thank you, you've been a wonderful crowd!" The Koopa looked at the four heroes, "Alrighty now then, thank you so much for helping us. I have but 3 prizes to give out!" He reached into his pocket and first pulled out... Shoes. "For the ladys. I can't imagine how much it hurts to platform in heels. The two princesses at that, looked incredibly grateful. "Thank you," Peach said with a grin. To the Mario Bros, he gave them a pass "For mustace grooming" "All right!" Luigi said. grabbing it. "And for your 3rd gift: A Wonder Seed". The four looked at it and grabbed the seed, setting reality back to normal
