Summary
At the age of twenty-four, Lavender Brown is grieving the loss of her mother, crippled by medical debts, and ostracized due to a curse she does not actually have. Her prospects, both financial and romantic, are fairly nonexistent by the time she receives a completely unexpected and staggeringly lucrative offer. A Death Eater in Azkaban (who is scheduled for execution within six months) happens to be the last inheritor of a powerful, carefully curated magical bloodline, and his final wish is to pass on his potent sorcery to a son or daughter he will never have the chance to know – an heir which he wants Lavender to carry. But as she meets and swiftly grows closer to her former enemy, Lavender must ask herself whether she is ready to bear his child – and whether she is ready to watch him die.
