"Hey, Bojan, what's up?"
"Well, hello. You finally called back."
"There's been rabbits outside."
"What?"
"I've been – you know how rabbits have two litters a year?"
"Not really…? Jan –"
"In spring and autumn."
"Uh…"
"Yeah…"
"Listen, that's very interesting and all –"
"It's wonderful to watch them play around. Oh and, guess, take a guess at how fast they run when they're little."
"Um, how, uh, fast do they run?"
"Impossibly fast."
"Alright."
"Yeah."
Bojan could hear a chuckle in Jan's voice. He was probably thinking about the baby rabbits running around.
"Anyway, Jan, we were supposed to start practicing today."
The line went quiet for a moment, before it was filled with what sounded like frantic moving and knocking things over in a hurry. Then a distant "fuck!" before Bojan heard the phone being picked up and Jan's voice came through clear again.
"Shit, I'm sorry, I thought it was Sunday today." It was Wednesday. "I swear time moves differently in the mountains. I'll be there in…" Jan's voice turned very apologetic, "five hours?"
Bojan just sighed deeply and rubbed his eyes. "See you then."
