Chapter 1: In The Beginning

Chapter Text

1. In The Beginning

The half giant, the old witch and the Gandalf-looking wizard finally disappeared one by one, leaving a sleeping toddler in a basket placed on the ground near the front steps of a house known as No. 4 Privet Drive in the Surrey town Little Whinging.

A few minutes passed by before the door of the house opened without a sound and a woman with slender neck, sharp nose and curled dark auburn hair peeked out to check cautiously for any other presence within the surrounding area.

Satisfied that no one was around, she stealthily made her way toward the basket, gingerly picked it up, and quickly returned to the house.

She went upstairs toward the second largest bedroom where a well-equipped nursery in shades of green, blue, and grey was waiting for an occupant. As she removed the sleeping boy from the basket, she noticed an envelope placed inside the basket with her first name followed by a different family name written on it.

“Tsk, I guess they were never informed about that despicable lard Dursley. As if I would marry that narcissistic hippo git.”

She placed the boy gently on the changing table next to a prepared crib with a soft mattress and pillows. Ignoring the wound on his head for a moment, she checked and changed his diaper, and changed his clothing with a comfortable pair of pyjamas. She quickly gather the first aid kit from underneath the changing table. Using an alcohol wipe and some ointment, she cleaned the wound on his forehead and covered the still reddened wound with a small gauze pad and a Band-Aid. Finally, she set him down into the crib and tucked a blanket around him.

With a sigh the woman plopped herself down on the rocking chair next to the crib gazing at the sleeping child through the railings of the crib. The tears she had been holding back was quietly released with the knowledge that she had lost her sister that night.

“Oh Lily, I wish it didn’t have to end this way.”

Later, Petunia Evans, the unmarried sister of Lily Potter née Evans, brought the basket with the envelope back down to the kitchen where she used 2 pairs of tongs to remove the envelope from the basket and to withdraw the letter from the envelope. She had a camera and she used it to capture a photo of the letter. Without touching the letter that was placed flat on the countertop, she read through the entire letter.

“Just as expected.”

Snatching up a box of matches, she picked up the letter and the envelope with the tongs and went out to the backyard. She tossed them into a large tin pail she had bought earlier this week and using a few matches, burnt the letter and envelope until only ashes remained.

“Good riddance.”

After locking up the house for the night, she checked on Harry again before entering her room, the master bedroom. A work desk in a corner had a pile of papers with a small ornate hand mirror on top of the pile. Picking up the mirror she uttered quietly a name.

A person who had been her ally since the beginning appeared in the mirror, answering her call. “Greetings my Lady M.”

“Greetings, Stormaxe. My nephew has safely arrived here. We will be coming in tomorrow to get his wound treated.”

“The healers and curse breakers will be waiting.”

“Please initiate lockdown on all Potter vaults as soon as possible. It’s time to bring in the dog and the wolf, as planned.”

“You will be notified once the lockdown is official, and the canines are in custody.”

“Ensure the hunters are sent after the rat, Stormaxe!”

“Immediately. Is there anything else we can do for you, Lady M?”

“Nothing for now. We will see you tomorrow morning then.”

After the mirror call was terminated, Petunia Evans, known as Lady M to the Goblin Nation, went to bed to cry and grieve some more for her sister and her nephew.

~In The Past~

When Petunia Evans was a child, she had frequent bouts of flu which often left her drained of energy and bedridden. It was during these bouts that she had dreams of someone growing up. She was named Jess Redding.

She dreamt of Jess being a young child  growing up with loving parents and siblings, Jess being smart in school and being active in sports and martial arts, Jess being a social person with many friends, Jess graduating from school as a top student, Jess going to university to learn business administration and Jess being killed in a car accident. Most importantly, she dreamt of Jess reading Harry Potter books and watching Harry Potter movies in her youth.

She was eight where she had the final dream of Jess in a car accident. It was followed by a vision of Jess facing a scary dark entity shrouded in long robes holding a long scythe. There were no words spoken but, in her mind, she could somehow understand the entire conversation between them. It seemed the dark entity was asking Jess to help save a boy called Harry Potter. Jess protested that Harry was just a character from the fantasy books and movies in her world. The dark entity informed Jess that in another universe, Harry was a real boy in a real magical world. Jess reluctantly agreed but asked for some boons to assist her in her task. She requested that (1) she would remember this conversation and all events from Harry Potter books and movies, (2) the goblins would help her as allies, and (3) she could call the dark entity for help when needed. The dark entity contemplated in silence some time before nodding its head in agreement.

Petunia never got sick again after that final vision. Realising she was a re-born Jess Redding in a Harry Potter universe, Petunia began to make tentative plans. Using a few journals, she managed to record down the dreams and events from the books and movies on Harry Potter. She also drafted actions to prepare herself and help others in the magical world.

  • Save money for travelling to Leaky Cauldron and buying books.
  • Conduct an inheritance test at Gringotts (if available?).
  • Inform Gringotts about horcruxes especially the one in the Lestrange vault.
  • Check if Gringotts can find and destroy the horcruxes.
  • Get business start-ups going or invest to make more money in normal and magical world.
  • Examine magical heritages of first-generation witches and wizards.
  • Hire squibs, first-gen, and half-blood witches and wizards to take care of those businesses.
  • Alert the British Government and the Queen on Riddle and Death Eaters.
  • Organise a special team made up of military personnel who left the magical world due to prejudices to monitor the Ministry for Magic and the British Magical World.
  • Learn martial arts, self-defence, survival skills, etiquette, sword fighting, fine dining, quill writing, Latin, and French.
  • Buy a gun or rifle and learn to use it.
  • Master occlumency.
  • Inform parents and Lily? Train Lily?

It was the last item that made her hesitate. Would her parents, Henry and Daisy Evans, and her sister, Lily (who was now 5 years old) believe her if she told them about her dreams and her notes on what would happen to their future grandson or son?

After some careful thinking, Petunia decided to keep the information private since many wizards and witches could perform mind-reading. It would be detrimental to share her secrets since they cannot shield their minds effectively. But she could try to influence Lily to train up in other areas in the listed steps.

Chapter 2 : Plans In Action

Gringotts Wizarding Bank was quiet and free of customer when Petunia walked briskly through the entrance with a sleeping toddler in a large ring sling at 6 am the next morning. She was immediately escorted into the inner caves toward Stormaxe’s office. The route was a familiar one considering the numerous visits she had been making since she first stepped into the bank ages ago.

“Greetings Lady M and Heir Potter.”

“May the blood of your enemies decorate your blade and your gold multiply in millions, Stormaxe.” Petunia gave Stormaxe, the goblin in charge of the account of the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of M a standard Goblin greeting. “May your gold increase and your enemies decrease, Lady M.” Stormaxe replied with amusement in his eyes.

She took a seat in front of his wide table with marble top as Stormaxe went back to his chair. Little Harry fussed a bit but went back to sleep again after Petunia gave him soft pats on his back and sway a bit in her chair.

“Please share with me the status of the Potter’s vaults.”

“All vaults are lock downed until you are duly appointed as the Guardian of Heir Potter on the mundane and magical sides and take up your position as the Regent to the Ancient and Noble House of Potter.”

“Have you found Lily and James’ wills?”

“The wills of Lord and Lady Potter were found last night in Heir Potter’s Trust Vault, and they, together with your application for guardianship and Regency were filed to the Department of Inheritance at the Ministry of Magic very early this morning.”

“Ensure a reading is setup as soon as possible with the beneficiaries in attendance.”

“It is being organised right now, Lady M.”

“What about their house in Godric’s Hollow?”

“All items were packed and sent to the Potter’s family vaults. The Potter elves had cleaned up, embalmed, and sent the bodies of Lord and Lady Potter to the Potter Manor to be interned into the Potter Mausoleum on the manor’s ground later at your convenience.”

Petunia sighed with sadness, “Yes, I will arrange for a service later with Heir Black and Mr. Lupin. Where are they now?”

“We managed to secure Heir Black as he was chasing after the rat. Of course, the rat is also in our custody. We have also sent an owl to Mr. Lupin regarding his inheritance from the will of Lord and Lady Potter.”

“Have the Longbottom family been notified about the Potters and the unexpected visitors?”

“We sent out our owls this morning and we have received a positive reply. They will stay under the war wards of Longbottom Hall for a few more weeks.”

“Good to know. What about Dum-Dum, the old goat?”

Stormaxe chuckled at the apt description which Lady M had assigned to Albus Too-Many-Name Dumbledore since she first entered Gringotts years ago. It still amused him and other Goblins especially the Goblin King.

“He had called for an emergency Wizengamot’s meeting today most likely with the intention of sealing Lord and Lady Potter’s wills and to appoint himself as the Guardian of Heir Potter and the Regent for the Ancient and Noble House of Potter.”

Petunia grimaced with distaste for she never wanted to deal with Dumbledore, but she had expected his actions based on what she knew about the old man.

“Well, our grand plans will ensure the old goat will not get access to anything that rightfully belongs to Harry.”

“Lady M, perhaps it is time to send Heir Potter to the healers and curse breakers.”

“Yes, I believe you are correct.”

Within an hour, Harry Potter was free from the sliver of soul which belonged to that upstart half-blood with a moniker created from his real name. They placed the soul piece inside a crystal ball which would be used to track the other soul parts based on the information Petunia was able to give them.

The healers and curse breakers managed to remove the illegal bindings the old goat had placed on Harry to restrict his magical core and gifts. They gave Harry Potter a clean bill of health after checking he was healed from the backlash from the removal of the illegal bindings, and he had the latest immunization for both mundane and magical worlds.

Petunia also requested the curse breakers do a ritual to recall any blood, hair and biological matter knowingly or unknowingly taken from her nephew because she wanted to ensure the old goat could not use anything of Harry’s to track him down in future. Stormaxe was instructed to do a recall ritual for all assets belonging to the Potters which were not given as gifts to others. Petunia remembered fanfiction stories Jess had read about the old goat having sticky fingers and stealing from Harry.

Little Harry Potter woke up at the end of the healing session and curiously looked around the room. When his green eyes finally settled on Petunia, he grinned and shouted, “Ann ‘uni!”.

~In The Past~

Petunia Evans aged 9 managed to save enough money for the return bus trip to Leaky Cauldron at Charing Cross Road. She had found an old map of London and traced the bus route from Little Whinging to Charing Cross Road.

It was a Saturday where Mom and Dad had gone shopping and Lily was spending the day with a friend who lived across the street. She made sure she dressed neatly and carried in a large cloth bag a self-made robe. Petunia found a black high school graduation robe thrown out in the trash as she was walking back from school a few weeks ago. In that moment of inspiration, she took it home with her. She washed and redid the robe to make it look more like the wizarding robe she could remember from the books and movies. Thanks to Mom aka Daisy for teaching her sewing when she was younger.

She caught a bus to reach London and went on another bus that would drop her off at Charing Cross Road. At the bus stop, she gazed across the street toward a row of buildings where she could see a pair of old wooden doors with a dingy sign above announcing the name of the pub, Leaky Cauldron. She noticed that many pedestrians walking the pavement ignored the doors, the sign and the oddly dressed people entering and exiting the doors. Clearly the ward covering the entrance kept out the mundanes, the none-magical people. She was not going to use the rude slang “muggles” any time soon.

“This is IT!” She muttered to herself, gathered her courage, and crossed the street. It was a lucky day for her because a group of chattering witches entered the pub at the same time. She placed herself behind them and followed them toward the rear of the pub without drawing any notice from the patrons of the pub. While waiting for one of the witches to open the entrance to Diagon Alley, she quickly put on her robe to hide her mundane clothing.

They entered the alley and as the group of witches went their way, Petunia was able to take in the sight of cobbled streets lined with 15th century buildings that contained restaurants, shops, and businesses. The place was packed with witches and wizards of all ages, young and old, shopping for all kinds of things. Her head kept turning left and right to silently observed the ongoings in the shops and businesses. Her eyes could see a tall white building on the north side and turn to it.

“This must be the Gringotts Wizarding Bank.” Petunia muttered and walked through the entrance door guarded by two goblins in uniform holding spears. Another set of silver entrance doors came in view, and she read the writings on the doors.

Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn.
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there.

“Good warning sign.” Petunia stated with humour remembering what the books and movies had shown of Gringotts and the goblins Once she passed the second entrance, Petunia found long counters with goblins in suits sitting behind them serving queues of wizards and witches. She found the shortest queue and stood in line.

“What do you want, witch?” The harsh question from the angry looking goblin at the high counter scared her but she plucked up her courage to give him a polite nod and said in a normal tone, “Good day, Master Goblin. May your blade be coated with the blood of your enemies and may their gold increase your wealth.”

The goblin was taken aback by her courteous greetings which she remembered was out of normal practise due to the prejudices in the Britain’s wizarding world. The goblins from nearby counters gave her approval looks before returning to their work.

“How may I assist you, young witch?” The goblin asked more politely with a calmer visage.

“Master Goblin, I would like to take a heritage test to see if I have inherited any vaults in your fine institution.”

“Please have a sit at the waiting area.” He pointed toward a row of chairs against a wall where a few people were sitting. “The goblin in charge of heritage testing is Spikehammer. You will be called shortly and escorted to him when he is ready for you.” He wrote on a parchment, and it curled up and flew off somewhere through another door.

“Thank you, Master Goblin.” Petunia gave him a quick polite nod at his dismissal and made her way to the waiting area. She did not see the respectful looks sent to her from the said goblin and his nearby colleagues.

She waited for ten minutes before she was called by another goblin who seemed to be a junior officer of the bank. The goblin escorted her through a cavern hallway that had multiple doors on each side with different name plates on the doors. They finally reached a door with the nameplate, Spikehammer – Heritage Tester. The junior goblin knocked on the door three times and when someone on the other side yelled “Enter!” he opened the door, let Petunia walked in and closed the door behind her.

Pertunia found a bright cave-like office with a few banners and weapons displayed on the wall behind a large polished wooden table. There was a large broad-shouldered goblin in a dark suit sitting behind the table. His almost guttural voice asked, “How can Gringotts help you today?”

“Good day. May your enemies die under your feet and may your gold increase a thousand-fold, Master Spikehammer.”

Her quick greeting made the goblin sat up straight with a startled look. He cleary was not expecting courteous Goblin greetings from a young girl. He replied in a calmer tone, “May your gold be as vast as the oceans and may your enemies be crushed. How can we at Gringotts be of assistance to you, young witch?” He finally gestured to the empty chair across his table.

Petunia almost corrected him but decided to go ahead with the ruse of being a witch. She sat down primly and began, “My name is Petunia Evans and I want to conduct a heritage test to see if I have inherited or can claim any vaults in Gringotts.”

“I see.” Spikehammer opened one of the drawers to take out a long parchment, and a long black quill.

“Please write your full name on top of this parchment with the quill, Ms Evans.” He requested.

Petunia was confident she could handle writing with a quill because she had been practicing for a few weeks with her father’s fountain pen ink, a few pages from her schoolbooks and an owl’s feather she found in the playground near her house. However, one thing was missing.

“May I have the ink for the quill?”

“The quill does not use ink, Ms Evans. It is called a blood quill for it uses your own blood. The heritage test needs blood to find your ancestry.”

Spikehammer tried to hide his surprise when the young witch, without any question, took up the quill, and immediately wrote in elegant script her full name on top of the parchment. He was even more impressed that she did not flinch or cry when her blood flows from the tip of the quill.

Petunia Faye Evans

Petunia found the wounds from the quill healed when she finally put down the quill. The quill immediately burned up on its own and the ashes disappeared. The goblin picked up the parchment and spoke a few words of Goblin-speak (as Petunia would call the language of the goblins) for magic to work on the parchment.

Letterings began to flow from her written name down the long parchment to reveals names and dates. Once the revelation finished, Spikehammer picked up the parchment to read the result. Petunia was not sure what to think when the Goblin stared at the result in shock and turned pale. Soon, he placed the parchment on the table and fled the room.

Perplexed, Petunia picked up the parchment to read the result of her test.

Chapter 3: The Grand Plans

(Edited On 24-08-024)

“Prongslet!”

“Pa’foo!”

The godfather and the godson met in hugs and giggles while tumbling on the carpeted floor of the living room in one of Gringott’s guest room. Petunia gave them a wistful look and turned to a sad Remus Lupin watching them from an armchair. She sat on the other armchair next to him.

“I hope you and Black had been briefed about my sister, James and Harry.” She asked quietly beside Remus with both watching Sirius Black in his Padfoot form playing with a happy laughing Harry.

“Yes, Your Majesty. Stormaxe had shown us the memories and evidence.” Remus stood up and gave a bow which made Petunia scowled.

“What have I told you about calling my official title?”

He sat down with a sheepish look, “Not to do so until Your Majes…you officially reveal your status to the Magical Britain.”

“Remember that for Lily, James and Harry’s sake.”

Sirius Black picked up the smiling Harry and walked over. “Your Majesty..”

“Call me Lady M if you must but I prefer you call me Petunia instead when we are with Harry. I don’t want to confuse him.”

Both men nodded and turned their attention to the toddler in Sirius’ arms.

“Pa’foo, Mama?” Harry asked while looking around the room. All three adults looked uneasy on how to comfort the child.

“Mama isn’t here, Pup.”

“Papa?”

“Papa isn’t here too.”

Harry was beginning to frown in confusion, his lips pressed, and trembling and his eyes started watering.  “Papa shout. Bad man lauf.  Mama cry. Gween lit.”

“Oh cub, I’m sorry you remember.” Remus took Harry from Sirius who looked helpless. Harry sobbed and called out for his Mama and Papa while Remus comforted him with Sirius rubbing Harry’s back.

Petunia could only watch with tears falling from her eyes. Despite the efforts and plans she and her allies had been making in the past years, she was not able to stop the death of her beloved sister and her husband. It seemed their death were inevitable.

“We need to go soon. You both are coming with me.”

“No, Remus and I need to find that traitor Peter. He sent the Dark Lord to Godric’s Hollow and now Lily and James are gone.”

“The Goblins has him. He will be sent to the DMLE soon.”

“How?” Remus and Sirius looked at her in shock.

Harry had cried himself to sleep and was placed on the bed in the guest bedroom with pillows surrounding him. The bedroom door was left ajar in case Harry called out for them. After an hour or two, Remus and Sirius were reeling in shock at the summarised plans Petunia had outlined. Plans that started when she was 9 and was discovered as a Royal from the Royal House of Morgana Le Fey. Plans that involved the Mundane Monarchy and Government, the Gringotts and a few allied families.

A knock on the door interrupted them and it opened to reveal Stormaxe who gave her a deep bow and head nods to Remus and Sirius.

“Good evening, my Lady. I am pleased to inform you that the Longbottoms have evacuated from Longbottom Hall and are now residing in the guest room across the hallway from this guest room.”

“Excellent work, Stormaxe. We will visit them shortly.”

After Stormaxe left, Remus and Sirius looked at Petunia for answers.

“They are allies to the Royal House of Le Fay. We have contingency escape plans for all our allies if the Death Eaters ever targeted them.”

“How many families…”

“More than enough. It started when Riddle and his gangs began to hunt down mundane-born and half-blood families. We offered sanctuary to many mundane-born families, as well as the Prewett family, the Weasley family, the Macmillan family, the McKinnon family…”

Sirius started and stared at her, “Marlene..”

Petunia smiled knowingly, “She is safe with her family. They are staying at one of my property at the moment.”

Sirius exhaled with relief as Remus clapped him on his back. Marlene McKinnon was Sirius’ betrothed.

“Once Harry is awake, you can take him and Remus to visit the Longbottoms. Later, Stormaxe will arrange a portkey to take you, Harry, Remus and the Longbottom to the sanctuary where McKinnon are staying.”

“What about you?”

“Well, the time has come for the Royal House of Morgana Le Fay to reveal Queen Le Fay to Magical Britain.”

By the time a tired Petunia Faye Evans (former Jess Redding) returned home that late afternoon, plans were already in progress to prepare both Mundane Britain and Magical Britain for the upcoming changes.

Spikehammer with a pair of warrior goblins, had returned and escorted Lady Petunia, now known as Queen Petunia Le Fay, deeper into the Gringotts caverns to be received by the Goblin King and the Nation’s elders and warriors.

After the pomp and ceremony of the momentous meeting between two Royals in a lavishly decorated Gringotts ceremonial hall, she was soon having tea with Ragnok in the hall seating in French-styled chairs with a table ladened with a sumptuous tea offering.

During the sumptuous tea, both royals slipped into first name basis and began to inspect a few things regarding her inheritance. It seemed that Queen Petunia, had inherited the throne by blood only and yet the inheritance was approved by magic.

Ragnok had shown her the last will of Morgana Le Fay which did not stipulate that a magical should be the inheritor of the throne. She also was informed that the sentient magical beings such as the Goblin Nation, the Centaur Herds, the Merfolk Clans, the Elves, the Wolves Packs, the Vampire Covens, and other magical beings would welcome her reign but not witches, and wizards due to ongoing prejudices and superiority complexes.

After much discussion, tentative plans were made for the next few weeks.

Firstly, Petunia had to inform her parents as soon as possible. Her Ascension had upset her plans to keep things quiet. Mr. and Mrs. Evans needed to accompany her to meet with Queen Elizabeth the Second and the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Wilson in days to come since she was still a minor by mundane British laws.

Ragnok would be arranging the meeting with the British Monarch and Prime Minister. They had to be informed of Her Ascension as the Monarch for Magical Britain. However, the knowledge would not be relayed to the Magical Britain until much later due current prejudices and pureblood-based ethnocentricity.  Petunia decided to remain hidden and to work behind the scenes to take care of things in Magical Britain to prepare for Riddle’s rising terrorism and the old goat’s inaction.

Petunia hoped to suggest to the Queen and the Prime Minister to create a military division made up of disenfranchised squibs, mundane-born, and half-bloods. The division would help in keeping the Statute of Secrecy intact, monitoring the ongoings of Magical Britain, and keeping the Mundane Britain safe from “muggle-baiting” and “muggle-raping” wizards and witches.

The division could also help with examining the current laws of Magical Britain and marked those that contravene the laws of the Mundane Britain especially on the equal rights of all Magical sentient beings. Petunia hoped to overhaul the magical laws to be in lined with the mundane laws when the time was right.

Secondly, Ragnok resolved to get her vaults audited, the financial records updated, and to unseal and update the wards and facilities of any landed properties under of the Royal House of Morgana Le Fay, with the help of the other Manager, Stormaxe and his assistants.

Petunia asked for the wards of her properties be updated to war wards. The amenities for each property also had to be updated to suit current living conditions especially the kitchens and bathrooms. She planned to use them as sanctuaries, orphanages and primary schools in future. Perhaps one of the properties could be her official royal residence where she could receive visits from the Queen, Ragnok and her future allies.

Thirdly, Petunia wanted to make an alliance among the other Houses especially the neutrals. There were too much to be done to prepare for the Second Wizarding War as known in the Harry Potter universe.

After a vow of secrecy, Petunia also shared with Ragnok her premonition of future events (a disguise for her knowledge of future events in Harry Potter universe) and the idea of working in alliance with the various Houses in the Magical Britain and with the Royal House of Windsor in Mundane Britain. She had a list of families to approach – the Bones, the Potters, the Greengrass, the Longbottoms, the Blacks and the Prewitt. Ragnok promised to prepare another list of potential families who would be opened to work in alliance with the Royal House of Le Fay.

Ragnok was quite unsettled by what she had shared with him. The rise of blood purity ideals. A half-blood misleading the pureblood families to start a violent purging of other pureblood, mundane-born and half-bloods families. The creation of the abomination known as horcruxes. Enslavement and torture via Dark Marks. Outright discrimination and disdain against Magical Sentient Beings and non-pureblood. Meanwhile the wizard, who supposedly defeated the Dark Lord Gellert Grindelwald, did nothing while pontificating in public as a supporter of the Light faction. He would have to prepare his people soon for Riddle and the Death Eaters.

When Ragnok asked about making allies with other nations, Petunia stated, “My focus must be on Magical Britain and its wellbeing first as I am now the Royal in Magical Britain. Ragnok, you may inform the leaders of the Magical nations in ICW via other Gringotts’ branches as long as they keep it a secret until the time I choose to reveal myself to Magical Britain.”

A week after her foray into Gringotts, Petunia received a thick ream of report on her assets and finances via elf mail (mail delivery via a Gringotts’ elf). The huge sum of Galleons, Sickles and Knuts in her vaults would have made her the first multi-billionaire in the world.

Under the Royal House of Morgana La Fay, she inherited the fabled Castle Avalon left standing tall and strong on an unplottable isle off the coast of Wales. Petunia had given Ragnok, the necessary permission which allow the Goblins access to the castle to turn the vast property into her official royal residence. A survey of the isle was also organised to reveal the current condition of the isle and how to make use of the isle’s resources.

She also inherited 7 manor houses under the Royal House of Morgana La Fay and the Most Noble and Ancient House of Forrester located in Scotland, Ireland and Wales. They were in good condition but somewhat rundown in the inner rooms as they had not been lived in since mid-1200. The goblins would be spending some time working on her properties. Two manors located in Wales looked promising to be turned into an orphanage and a primary school. Her first thought was toward Severus Snape who lived with his suffering mother and abusive father a street away from her house.

Telling The Parents

The following day after her return from Gringotts, Petunia asked her parents privately for a family conference without the presence of Lily. Lily was sent off to play with her friend who lived across the street. Learning that their eldest daughter was a squib, that there was a hidden Magical Britain, and that Petunia Faye Evans became Queen Petunia Le Fay were first met with scepticism. The paperwork which Ragnok had given her on her lineage and credentials was thoroughly examined but Henry and Daisy were still not convinced.

The following Saturday after the family conference, with Lily busy attending a birthday party at a neighbour’s house, Petunia escorted her parents through the Leaky Cauldron to visit Diagon Alley and London’s Gringotts Bank. The meeting and discussion with Ragnok dispersed the doubts the Evans’ had. With the help of the Goblins in procuring suitable robes for her parents, Petunia was able to show off some shops in Diagon Alley which simply amazed the Evans.

When Petunia finally mentioned the arranged meeting for tea with the Queen and the Prime Minister of Mundane Britain, Henry and Daisy just fainted dead away on the floor of their living room. This time, Lily had to go with them to see the Queen for this was the first historical meeting between the Royal Houses of both Mundane and Magical Britain.

The Royal House of Windsor

On a Saturday morning a month after Petunia’s first visit to Gringotts, a white 1965 Rolls Royce Phantom V Limousine with British flags waving on the front rolled up to the curb side of a house at Spinner’s End. This brought out gawkers from surrounding houses because this luxury vehicle was escorted by 4 black Wolseley police cars with 2 in front of the limo and 2 behind the vehicle. Ragnok had arranged the transport to showcase the importance of the Royal House of Le Fay.

The front door opened and out stepped an elegantly dressed family, Petunia Faye Evans (aka Queen Petunia Le Fay aka Lady M), Lily Jasmine Evans, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Daisy Evans. Some simple jewels from the Le Fay vaults adorned the necks of Daisy, Petunia and Lily while Henry wore a vintage timepiece from the vaults of the Forrester. They were going to have tea with the Queen after all at the famous Windsor Castle. Visitors would be disappointed that the Windsor Castle was closed to the public for a private event.

The meeting with Queen Elizabeth the Second and her Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Wilson started well in the beginning and eventually ended in a war council.

Petunia Faye Evans’ lineage and credentials were formally presented to the Queen in one of the stately decorated Grand Reception Room. Everyone was invited to sit once the introductions were made and the paperwork were vetted and accepted as it was authenticated by Gringotts. Refreshments and finger food were quickly served by the castle’s staff, and they were left alone. Her parents made the effort to make small talks while Lily sat quietly in awe of the Queen and the reception room they were in.

Some time later, the Evans and Lily were escorted off with a retinue of the castle staff and guards to tour the castle while Petunia, the Queen and Mr. Wilson discussed matters concerning Magical Britain and its impact on Mundane Britain in private.

Petunia had prepared ahead of time on what to reveal and she had gone over with Raganok the points that would be shared with the Queen and Mr. Wilson.

At the end of the day, the Queen and Mr. Wilson agreed to create a military magical intelligence division called M.I.9 to monitor and protect both sides of the magical divide.  With the help of Gringotts, squibs, mundane-born, and half-bloods working in the mundane military would be located and reassigned to this division. Squibs, mundane-born, and half-bloods with qualifications in law would be hired to assist with overhauling the laws of Magical Britain and to be legal advisors or solicitors for both sides. Petunia hoped this division would help to neutralize the future terror acts of Riddle and the Death Eaters.

Pertunia offered up the lease of 2 large manor houses in Wales, both situated in the same county, to be used as an orphanage and school for magical young children and teenagers who had to put up with abusive or hostile parents and guardians who were afraid of or hated their child’s gift of magic. Squibs, mundane-born, and half-bloods with administration, teaching, counselling, and medical credentials would be hired to work for the Avalon Wales Foundation for Children, a foundation created by Petunia with her coinage from the Forrester’s vaults and the Queen with her patronage and support. Both Mundane and Magical schooling would be taught at the school as Petunia wanted the young wizards and witches to be able to live in both worlds.

Ragnok somehow managed to obtain a copy of the self-updating register of accidental magic kept in the Obliviator’s Department of the Ministry of Magic. The Foundation would use it to investigate all acts of accidental magic and any young charges found in hostile or abusive environments, by the Queen’s decree, they shall be the Queen’s wards and placed in the care of the foundation.

The first name of a magical child in need of the foundation offered by Petunia was Severus Snape.

Chapter 4: The Grand Plans Part 2

~ In The Past ~

Horcruxes

Ragnok was incensed with fury when Petunia informed him of Riddles’ soul containers, horcruxes.

Finding out the origins of the wizard Tom Marvolo Riddle who called himself Lord Voldermort was one thing. Finding out that this insane wizard had performed the foulest of magic to tear apart his soul to escape death and to achieve immortality was another. Riddle had crossed the line and Lady Magic and Death were out for his downfall.

With his Nation’s best teams of curse-breakers, diviners, arithmancers, and runemasters, he tasked them to search for Riddles’ soul containers and destroy them with extreme prejudice. To ensure swift destruction of the containers, Ragnok had announced that the team which destroyed the greatest number of horcruxes would gain a bounty of 1 million Galleons to be shared among the members of the winning team. This announcement soon energised the teams to do their best to carry out their tasks.

While Petunia wasn’t sure of the location of the horcruxes, she had given him the list of containers currently in existence:

  • Tom’s personal diary.
  • Marvolo Gaunt’s ring.
  • Slytherin’s Locket.
  • Hufflepuff’s Cup
  • Ravenclaw’s Diadem

It was toward the end of Lily’s 7th. school year at Hogwart’s when the Gringott’s team consisted of 6 most experienced curse-breakers, diviners, arithmancers, and runemasters won the bounty. They got rid of all the horcruxes belonging to Riddle.

Spinner’s End

Queen Le Fay aka Petunia Faye Evans had plans to change the fate of Spinner’s End and the township of Cokesworth surrounding it.

The large textile mill with a very tall chimney where most residents of Spinner’s End including her father had employment would be facing financial hardship soon and this would lead to loss of jobs and downward spiral of local economy and livelihood.

With the help of the Goblins, she bought up the mill and the large tract of land surrounding the mill. Petunia was going to provide the Mundane and Magical worlds the high-quality silk fabrics made with silk from silkworms and silk from Acromantula spiders.

The tall chimney and 2 newly built towers, with runes, were kept hidden with anti-mundane wards. With more runes, they were expanded and converted into Acromantula spiders farms for the spiders’ silk. Strict safety measures were put in place to keep the spiders in place and the workers safe.

A system was created to obtain willingly given silk in exchange for food. Old and sick farm animals from farms near and far were bought up and given to the spiders to feast on for every ball of rolled up silk they provide. Here, disenfranchised squibs, mundane-born, and half-bloods were hired to manage the farms and to harvest the spiders’ silk.

Greenhouses were built around the mill to grow mulberry trees and to cultivate silkworms that would provide silk for the mill. Former employees and new ones were hired and trained by experts sourced by Gringotts on cultivation of mulberry trees and silkworms and harvesting of silk. New textile machines for silk production were purchased and installed into the mill and more people from Cokesworth and other nearby towns were hired and trained to produce, pack and deliver silk fabrics.

Everyone workings at the mill, greenhouses and towers had to sign iron-clad Goblin-made confidentiality contracts together with their own employment contracts. This ensured no one would mention anything related to magic and knowingly break the Statute of Secrecy.

LF Fabrics became well known for its divine silk fabrics in the fashion industries of both Mundane and Magical worlds.

The Evans Family

Petunia turned over the smallest of the Forrester manors which was located only a few miles from Spinner’s End to the Goblins to renovate and to upgrade its amenities and facilities. This was to be the new home of the Evans family and herself.

The manor called The Windsong House was a 3-floor building surrounded by lovely gardens and food-growing greenhouses and was completely warded with multiple types of runic wards which could rival the wards of Gringotts or Hogwarts. The ground floor had an ample-sized sitting, dining and drawing rooms with a long hall leading to the back towards a study and library, and a large kitchen and larder. The first floor contained with 4 bedrooms with their own ensuite, and the second floor held another bedroom with its own ensuite plus 2 attic rooms.

Attached to the building was a newly build garage big enough to house 3 cars. There was a paved road leading to a nearby highway hidden behind thick rows of trees.

Petunia found 6 house elves sleeping in stasis in one of the Forrester manors and was happy to release them. Once they recovered from their long sleep, the elves were given the attics at the Windsong House as their lodging areas and were trained to wear uniforms appropriate for their tasks (think maid’s, butler’s, and gardener’s wear). They would take care of the Evans, the Windsong House and its gardens and food-growing greenhouses. On Petunia’s order, the elves were delighted to send anonymously any excesses from the greenhouses to the dwindling poor families in Cokesworth.

Two of the elves was trained to drive a newly bought Ford Anglia and an Austin Morris. They would be driving Mom, Dad and Lily to social events, to work and to school. Each elf wore a glamour bracelet that gave them human appearance whenever they drove in Mundane world.

At first Mom and Dad (Daisy and Henry Evans) were reluctant to move out of Spinner’s End but due to Petunia’s status and her concern for her parents’ and sister’s safety, they finally agreed to move to the Windsong House. Mom, Dad, Lily and herself each wore a wristwatch that contained a specially created portkey that would take them to safety inside Gringotts if they were ever in danger.

Once the Evans had settled into their new place the summer after her Ascension, Petunia asked her parents to help with the mill and LF Fabrics. Since her Dad was a former Supervisor at the mill, he worked in the management of the new mill. Her Mom who loved sewing and fashion was duly placed in managing the LF Fabrics. This sparked her Mom’s creativity and soon she has her own fashion boutique in the revived and bustling town of Cokesworth.

The lively and outgoing Lily Evans was initially overwhelmed by all the sudden changes in her life and became an introvert. Petunia tried to spend a much time as possible with her sister and talked to her, her experiences and knowledge about the mill, the spiders, the elves, the Castle Avalon, the Goblins and Magical Britain. The study and library filled with Mundane and Magical books became a haven for the Evans sisters. It wasn’t long before Lily became happy and lively again with the knowledge her big sis would take care of everything.

After that summer, Lily went back to school with her friends from kindergarten. The number of students and teachers at her school at kindergarten, primary and secondary levels had swelled considerably as many families had moved to Cokesworth due to jobs at the mill, or at businesses in town. A newly build hospital across the river also contributed to the growing town and residents.

Avalon Wales Foundation for Children

Queen Elizabeth the Second announced the opening of the Foundation a year after Petunia’s Ascension. She became the official sponsor for the Foundation on the Mundane side and Petunia was the sponsor for the Magical side. But Magical Britain was still in the dark of the risen Royal House of Le Ray.

The Foundation was managed by professionals in fields of administration, childcare, medicine and psychology who are squibs, mundane-born, and half-bloods. Another group made up of squib and mundane-born from police and military background were tasked to investigate all incidents of accidental magic from the self-updating register of accidental magic copied from the Obliviator’s Department of the Ministry of Magic.

The mundane children were officially placed as the Queen’s wards while squib, mundane-born and half-blood children were the wards of the Royal House of Le Fay. Many children were rescued from abusive and hostile families and placed in the care of the Foundation. Their parents and guardians had to sign Goblin-made contracts with blood quills or runic pen for the mundanes to relinquish their guardianship. A geas was placed upon those from Mundane world to never talked about any magic they saw and knew to other Mundane people.

The young children and teenagers were housed in one of the 2 large manor houses in Wales (contributed by Petunia) that was converted into a modernised residential building. Inside, the rooms were expanded and renovated to accommodate more than 200 children and teenagers and their caretakers. The building had several study halls, playrooms, recreation centres, 2 mess hall, well equipped kitchens, large-sized laundrette and a garage that housed 2 large buses to cater to any planned excursions. Next to the building was an indoor Olympic-size pool with pool slide at each corner. On the grounds there were greenhouses, vegetable gardens and flower gardens. Another side of the ground held a basketball court, a soccer field and a shed filled with large and small bicycles.

The other manor building was turned into a day school that mostly taught Mundane subjects to all children and teenagers. However, Tuesday and Thursday were days when basic Magical disciplines in history, runes, potion, creature care, and herbology were taught to squib, mundane-born and half-blood children. All qualified teachers for both Mundane and Magical subjects were squib, mundane-born and half-blood themselves.

Ragnok had generously offered heritage tests to those at the orphanage to find their magical ancestors. This offer changed the landscape of Magical Britain for years to come because many idle vaults, and Wizengamot seats were reactivated, and more Galleons were circulated into the Magical economy.

Petunia ensured that the young heirs and heiresses received additional training they needed before they reached their majority in the Magical world. She herself was also undergoing lessons and training which were recommended by The Queen and Ragnok in order to prepare for her great reveal as Queen Le Fay one day.

Severus Snape

Eileen Snape nee Prince could only sigh with relief once the constables had handcuffed her husband Tobias and led him out of their house and into a waiting police car.

The Evans, their neighbour may have moved away due to the sudden windfall in their finances, but they still visited their friends at Spinner’s End. They never sold their house and had rented it out to another family who moved into Spinner’s End due to their father’s job as General Physician at the newly opened hospital.

It was Mr. Henry Evans who suggested that Tobias apply for the few positions still available at the mill during one of his visits to Spinner’s End. Tobias only managed to get a job as a janitor due to his lack of education and work skills. At first, he was not happy with the job as he had hoped for higher pay with better job title. When he started smiling and getting home drunk, she became suspicious.

Early this morning when Eileen opened the front door to answer the knocking and found 3 constables at the doorstep, she knew they were there for Tobias. He was asleep on the worn-out sofa after getting home drunk the night before. He was arrested for stealing from the mill where he managed to steal hundreds of pounds from a safe in Mr. Evans’s office. Eileen would never see Tobias again in her lifetime.

Severus Snape at age 6 also felt pleased to see his father led off by the constables in handcuffs. Since he was a babe, he had never seen his father being kind to his mother and himself. Shouting and hitting at his mother was his father’s normal behaviour especially when he came home drunk. He had no love for his father.

The next day, Mrs Evan, Lily’s mother and another kind-looking woman came to the house to speak with his mother. He sat at the kitchen table practising his writing with a pencil and a writing book while discussions took place in the living room.

In short order, Severus and his mother moved into a place called the Foundation and the house was rented out so Mother would have money regularly. Mother explained that they were going to get help at the Foundation. Mother was hired to take care of him and other children.

He was going to school at the Foundation. He soon learned the children at the orphanage and school were from abusive families like himself. The Magical history at school taught him about him being a wizard and his mother being a witch just like many children and adults at the Foundation.

The physicians and healers had also given mother and son a thorough medical check, and they were given medication and potion to restore their health. Mother said she was relearning potions as she had stopped for a long time. She said she wanted to get her Master in Potions as soon as possible so they could move into a place where they can be a family. This made him want to learn potions too.

Mother took him to see Doctor Daisy who was nice and gentle and loved to talk to him. At the end of the talk, he was given a lollypop for being a good talker and listener. He found his chest felt lighter every time he talked about his dreams, his fears, his frustrations and his love for his mother. Mother also often talked to Doctor Daisy, and he was glad to see her looking younger and happier after each talk.

Three months into his stay at the Foundation, Severus’ mother came back to their room at lunchtime looking pasty and grim. He was afraid at first that his father might have come back for them. Instead, he was told his grandparents wanted to meet him.

Mother’s father and mother, a young-looking elderly couple with silver black hairs came up to their table at a funny place called Leaky Cauldron. Severus was dressed in his best clothes and his hair combed neatly. Mother greeted them politely and invited them to sit. He also greeted them with a bow or a knuckle kiss just like Mother has taught him. They looked at Mother with sad loving eyes and turned to him with eager expression. Soon they were talking about him, his mother. Tobias, the Foundation, potions and potion ingredients. Grandpa and Grandma (Nicholas and Millicent Prince) were delighted to be reconciled with their only daughter and her son.

Unbeknownst to Eileen, the Prince patriarch made his way to Gringotts after that first meeting to write a new will and named Severus Snape as his Heir to the Most Ancient and Noble House of Prince. Nicholas was grateful that Queen Le Fay had informed them about Eileen and Severus.

A week before this, Ragnok was pleased when Petunia had written and sent a letter via Gringott to the Princes to seek out Eileen and Severus via Gringott. The Royal Seal for the Royal House of Le Fay on the letter with the official signing by a Queen Le Fay really shook up the Princes as they were descendants from another Le Fay family branch. This one letter revealed that someone had took up the Throne. Another line in the letter also had them make an Unbreakable Vow not to say anything about Queen Le Fay and the Foundation until the time she was revealed.

Petunia Evan was not someone Severus often interacted with, even when he visited Lily’s house often in the past, but she had been coming and going at the Foundation talking to people. Many people working at the Foundation including his mother who worked part-time as a caretaker at the orphanage, would often listen to what she had to say.

Funnily, Petunia would often try to visit his mother and himself at the end of her day. He found himself liking the older girl who talked respectfully to his mother and asked him about his day at school or his time with his Grandpa and Grandma with cheerful demeanour. Due to his session with Doctor Daisy, he found himself more talkative than before which made Petunia smiled a lot every time they talked. Petunia never said goodbye to them without giving him and his mother a hug. Whenever she did that, he often felt magic swept over him. He would never realise how his future had changed with Queen Le Fay appearing in the Magical world.

A few years later, after his mother had obtained her Mastery in Potions, Severus moved to the Princes’ manor with his mother to be with his grandparents. Eileen opened an apothecary in Millerworth, the magical section of Cokesworth (due to influxes of mundane-borne and magical families working at the expanding mills, greenhouses, and spider farms) to make and sell potions.  The grandparents especially Nicholas spent the rest of their days ensuring Severus grew up well and was ready to take up the headship of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Prince. They needed to prepare him for that special day when Queen Le Fay revealed herself to Magical Britain.
