Work Text:
At the age of 20, Sangyeon found out that his arranged marriage had been confirmed by his parents.
The news was expected but it still surprised Sangyeon as he kind of expected for his future spouse to decline the arrangement.
However, the boy he will be wedded to, Sunwoo, actually agreed and even initiated a discussion with him beforehand.
Despite being only 16 at the time, Sunwoo was mature about their situation and requested for a compromise before they finalize their wedding.
“Hyung, I don’t mind marrying you for our families but I want us to enjoy our youth. I still want to enjoy my freedom. I’d like it if the both of us are free to do whatever we like, I don’t mind if you’d like to see other people.”
At first, Sangyeon was taken aback but ultimately he was grateful for Sunwoo’s words.
“Sunwoo.. I want the same for you. You’re still so young and have much to learn about yourself. I agree, I want you to be free too, but I really want us to still get to know each other more before we get married.”
The younger man gave him a nod, and that was when they both decided to at least meet up once a week to bond more with each other.
“It’s a deal, hyung. We have 5 years before our wedding, so let’s make the most of our youth.”
With that, their discussion ended and they faced their parents together to confirm that they will indeed proceed with their marriage.
Their arrangement may not be ‘conventional’, but truth be told, the both of them truly did not mind getting married as they were not strangers to each other.
It all began when Sangyeon’s parents started to frequently work with Sunwoo’s parents. While the Lee family owned a production house, the Kim family owned a record label.
After a few years of working together, both families decided to merge their businesses by creating an entertainment agency together.
Due to their frequent business meetings, Sangyeon had met Sunwoo quite a few times. Although, they did not interact too often as they had a 4 year age gap and Sunwoo was only 13 when Sangyeon first met him.
Eventually, both parents felt that their sons were a good match for each other. Sunwoo had a natural talent for music production, while Sangyeon loves music and the music industry in general too.
The initial discussion of their possible marriage happened when Sangyeon was just 18, so at the time he was very hesitant and wanted to decline.
Meanwhile, as Sunwoo was very young at the time, he wasn’t informed about this yet.
However, during the 2 years before this arrangement was finalized, both families purposely conducted meetings more often in an attempt to bring their sons closer.
Those few years were what made Sunwoo and Sangyeon more familiar with one another, although things were going well, the both of them have yet to build a deeper bond.
They still only had basic knowledge about each other, but they could converse comfortably and consider each other as friends.
The both of them still have 5 more years before they truly become a married couple.
During this time, Sangyeon has been more active in helping with his father’s business. He had to maintain the company’s connections with many influential people including artists, models and influencers.
Meanwhile, Sunwoo is focused on his music courses for university and producing music in his free time.
Sunwoo mostly stayed away from the public eye, but Sangyeon could not avoid the media even if he wanted to. As he has frequent public appearances, Sangyeon is often romantically linked to the popular people he has interacted with for business.
However, Sangyeon constantly denies any rumors sparked by the media out of respect for Sunwoo.
No one except their own families and trusted friends are aware of their engagement, this was requested by the future couple as they’d like to enjoy their temporary freedom.
While Sangyeon denies any dating rumors, it is a fact that he has fooled around with a few people. Although Sunwoo is focused on his education, he too has been with other people around him that he could trust.
During the weekends, or other days if Sangyeon has to reschedule, the both of them kept their promise of meeting once a week.
Their meetings can’t really be considered as a date, as all they do is catch up. The both of them are not very open to each other yet, but they do try their best to express that they care.
“I heard from dad that you scored another good deal with the other Lee group, hyung. Congrats, you always do so well when it comes to negotiations.”
Sunwoo flashed Sangyeon a grin before he continued to finish his meal.
“Ah, thank you, Sunwoo-ya. I’ve been told that your compositions are always praised by your lecturers too. I always knew that you’d keep improving in your music.”
Sangyeon smiles back, gently patting the top of Sunwoo’s head before they continue to make small talk during their dinner ‘date’.
All in all, they could still be considered a little awkward with one another. However, truth be told, Sunwoo is actually excited to marry Sangyeon.
What made him agree to the marriage is not just because of their families, but also due to Sunwoo’s own experience with Sangyeon.
Sunwoo knows that the older man is kind and hardworking, but there was one specific moment with Sangyeon that left a great impression on him.
Sunwoo will always remember that one time when Sangyeon went into his studio. The visit was sudden as Sangyeon had not been invited over, causing Sunwoo to be upset at first.
However, the older man was immediately so excited at the site of Sunwoo’s music equipment.
“Wait— isn’t that guitar very limited? How’d you have that? You have so many instruments too. Oh, may I please listen to a bit of what you’re working on too?!”
It turns out, Sangyeon has listened to some of the music that Sunwoo participated in. So, the older man basically showered Sunwoo with compliments and actually gave him honest feedback about what he was working on.
That moment was when Sunwoo realized he was attracted to Sangyeon, it felt really nice for him to have someone around who could genuinely appreciate his passion and share the enthusiasm.
Sangyeon’s good looks were an added bonus as well, but Sunwoo will definitely be keeping his honest thoughts to himself for a very long time.
Despite their initial compromise, Sunwoo can’t help but feel a little jealous whenever a new dating rumor about Sangyeon pops up.
Sunwoo notices that Sangyeon is always linked with models, influencers and even musicians who are very ‘pretty’ or ‘elegant’.
Sunwoo feels that he is none of those two and this sometimes makes him feel a little upset.
Don’t get him wrong, Sunwoo knows he is good looking and in fact, he is quite confident in his looks.
However, he is aware that the people Sangyeon were rumored to be with were ‘prettier’.
One of the people Sangyeon was linked with was a male influencer called New, well known for his pretty and dainty visuals.
What makes things worse for Sunwoo, was the fact that most of the people Sangyeon was rumored to be with are actually women and not men.
This makes Sunwoo doubt that Sangyeon could be attracted to him one day, he assumes Sangyeon may not actually be into men.
Sunwoo feels that Sangyeon’s ideal type is someone feminine, pretty in bold and italic. Meanwhile, Sunwoo is different style-wise, he prefers a cooler and boyish image.
Sunwoo is someone who loves staying true to himself, but despite his tough exterior, sometimes he can’t help but feel insecure.
“What if I’m not physically attractive enough for him? What if he asks for a second husband or wife when we get married because I’m not the ‘pretty’ type?!”
Sunwoo would say whenever a new rumor appeared, his best friends Eric and Changmin are used to this by now and is ready to reassure him to shoo his doubts away.
“Sunwoo, please, I’ve said this before and I’ll always say it again— you are handsome, pretty, cool and etcetera in your own unique way.”
What Sunwoo doesn’t know, though, is that Sangyeon has insecurities too.
Sangyeon knows that Sunwoo has a lot of potential. The younger was a soccer star during his school days and is now acing his university classes.
Plus, despite his young age, Sunwoo already has collaborated with a lot of artists, and some of his own works were already released for other musicians as well.
Sangyeon wants to be more involved in Sunwoo’s creative process, and he is proud of Sunwoo but he feels he is lacking.
Most of what Sangyeon knows is how the entertainment industry works— the business or professional aspect of it, and so he feels he may be boring for Sunwoo at times.
“I feel like all I do is talk about work when we meet, I’m scared that Sunwoo just sees me as a boring workaholic.” He would repeatedly say this to his friend Younghoon whenever he is scheduled to meet Sunwoo soon.
“Hyung, I’m saying this as your friend who is also a slave to his family business, trust me when I say that you are not a boring person.”
A few more years have gone by and Sunwoo is now almost 20, while Sangyeon is 24, meaning that they will get married by next year.
This year brought a significant change for the future spouses, but it was also their most difficult year. Sangyeon has had to travel a lot, due to their family’s entertainment agency's official launch.
Meanwhile, Sunwoo also had to produce a lot of music for their company’s very first artist.
Since their schedule was packed, they started to meet a little less, their weekly meetings turned into biweekly meetings and they often had to reschedule to random days.
Sangyeon did his best to at least maintain communication with Sunwoo, making sure they stayed in contact despite everything.
However, despite their best efforts, Sangyeon messed up. Unfortunately, he ended up forgetting to show up to one of their planned meetings.
They have consistently held these ‘dates’ for nearly 5 years now, and Sangyeon nor Sunwoo never showed up this late.
It’s been almost 1 hour since Sunwoo sat down alone in the VIP seating area he booked for them, he knew the older man was looking forward to trying out this new restaurant and yet he hasn’t arrived.
Sunwoo is getting antsy and he tried to contact Sangyeon, but he wasn’t picking up. Instead, Sunwoo was greeted by a brand new news article on his phone’s notifications.
“Lee Sangyeon and Choi Chanhee confirmed to be dating.” Sunwoo felt his stomach drop reading the title, yet his curiosity took over and he continued reading the article.
It was claimed that Sangyeon and Chanhee have been dating for a few months, the added pictures of them together made the news look even more convincing. Sunwoo can’t lie, seeing their pictures made him feel crushed.
The exhaustion from work and now the added disappointment from the news, made all the insecurities bubbled up within him again.
Sunwoo decided to go home— home is not his family house, but his own private studio. To him, the studio was his sanctuary, the only place where he could pour out all of his true emotions.
Sunwoo could usually reassure himself whenever such articles appear, but this time it was too hard for him to do so. Eventually, he couldn’t hold himself back from crying, as he thought of the times where he saw a glimmer of hope that Sangyeon might actually like him back.
“Sunwoo-ya, I’m sorry for calling so late, the meeting just ended. It sucks that our time zones are currently pretty far off this time. I hope I wasn’t disturbing you.”
“Tell me about your day, you better be eating well this time.”
“Oh, we should definitely try this new place once I get back!”
Sangyeon would still make time to call Sunwoo between his busy work trips, their calls were brief but they still made Sunwoo’s day. To him, it meant Sangyeon did care for him enough to make sure they could still have time together.
“Hyung, it’s okay I promise I’m not overworking myself—” Sangyeon tsked, cupping Sunwoo’s cheeks gently.
“You can’t lie to me, I can clearly see that your eyebags have grown darker since the last time we met.”
“How was your class? I remember you said that you hate Tuesdays because of that one strict lecturer.”
The older man tends to remember and notice the small things, it was the moments like this that made Sunwoo always look forward to their weekly meetings. The moments that made their arrangement feel real, as if they have always been an official couple.
“Who am I kidding, of course he did all that just because of our arranged marriage.” Sunwoo sighed, leaning back against his chair as he wiped away his tears. “I.. I should have always stayed true to myself. I can’t believe I nearly forced myself to change because I just wanted him to like me.”
“Oh, you dyed your hair? Pink looks good on you.”
“Your hair turned blonde now, huh? You still look cute.”
“I see you went for a new look today, I rarely see you wear shorts. I mean you look pretty— you look great, though.”
Sunwoo recalled all of Sangyeon’s comments during the time where he decided to impulsively change his look.
Sunwoo dyed his hair pink and wore slightly cuter clothes, in hopes that Sangyeon would tell him he looked pretty for once.
Even when Sunwoo started to dress casually as he usually does again, Sangyeon would still say he looks good, and so he thought that the older could accept him for who he actually is.
He always forced himself to fight back the thoughts of Sangyeon just being nice to him because of their engagement, but now he just can’t.
Sunwoo felt like he did a lot for Sangyeon purely because he wanted to. Sangyeon became one of his driving forces to work hard in honing his skills as a producer. All Sunwoo wanted was to be a worthy partner for him, to make his future spouse proud, but now he feels like his efforts are for nothing.
It turns out, Sangyeon was stuck in a very long meeting and left his phone in his office, not expecting the meeting to run for that long.
Once he saw his notifications, Sangyeon immediately panicked, he knew he messed up. Sangyeon hurried over to their initial meeting place, only to be told by the receptionist that Sunwoo had left quite a while ago.
Sunwoo was not returning any of Sangyeon’s calls or texts, as he opted to ignore any incoming calls. The next place Sangyeon could think of was Sunwoo’s house, but of course he wasn’t there. At this point, Sangyeon started to feel hopeless as he knew the younger man was ignoring his calls on purpose.
“The one time I missed our date, another dumb article just had to appear.” Sangyeon wracked his brain trying to figure out where Sunwoo was, he knew he had to clear things up face to face.
Then, Sangyeon remembered that one time when Sunwoo asked him to come over to his private studio. “Wait— right, that wasn’t the company’s studio.” He quickly scrolled through their chatroom, letting out a sigh of relief once he found the studio’s address.
Sangyeon started driving towards the address and on his way there, he thought about the time where Sunwoo invited him to his studio.
Receiving a personal invite from Sunwoo is a rare occasion, especially when it involves his own private space. Sangyeon remembered that the younger mentioned having the studio as his sanctuary, practically beaming as he talked about it during one of their meetings.
“Oh! My private studio is finally ready, hyung. I can’t wait to make more music in my very own place! It’d be my sanctuary.” Sangyeon recalled Sunwoo hesitating a little, his cheeks turning a slight pink as he continued. “You.. you should come over some time.”
To say Sangyeon was excited when Sunwoo invited him over was an understatement. The older man felt it was a huge progress, a sign that Sunwoo has learnt to trust and open up to him more.
Sangyeon is still a little shy about letting Sunwoo know that he truly enjoys seeing the younger one making music too, but that day he couldn’t help but admit it himself.
“You know, I just really like watching you work. Ever since that one time I kinda barged into your other studio, I couldn’t help but admire how you look so in your element. It’s very cool to me.”
“Oh, shut up. You’re just being cheesy.” Sunwoo rolled his eyes but he couldn’t hold himself back from grinning. ‘Ah, there goes his bratty side.’
Sangyeon noticed that Sunwoo would tends to hide his embarassment by being sarcastic, yet he’s still fond of that side of Sunwoo’s.
Once Sangyeon arrived at the private studio, he prayed that Sunwoo would let him in. Unfortunately, he can’t just barge in as he does not have the access keys to Sunwoo’s unit.
Fortunately, there is a camera right next to the door bell and if Sunwoo is really in his studio, he should be able to see Sangyeon through his monitor.
Unfortunately, after ringing the doorbell repeatedly, Sangyeon received no answer. He nearly thought about giving up again, but he’s confident that Sunwoo is in there.
“Sunwoo, please— I know you won’t read my text or pick up my calls, but please let me explain everything. I really hope you’d at least give me a chance and listen to what I say.”
Sunwoo has been standing in front of the door, looking at Sangyeon through his monitor in hopes that the older man would just leave. Although Sunwoo is still very upset, he still didn’t have the heart to just fully ignore Sangyeon.
Sunwoo was surprised that Sangyeon could figure out where he is. ‘I guess, hyung knows me well enough.’ So, he decided to watch and listen to what Sangyeon wants to say.
“First of all, I’m sorry for not showing up. The meeting took so damn long and I didn’t realize the time, I didn’t have my phone with me too. Also, I’m really sorry about the article. Sunwoo, that article’s complete bullshit. Chanhee is dating my close friend, Younghoon, remember him? Don’t worry, the news will be taken care of.”
Sunwoo lets out a sigh of relief at his words, he was less upset after knowing that Sangyeon is in fact not dating anyone else and did not forget about him.
However, he’s still contemplating about letting him in, Sunwoo doesn’t want Sangyeon to see him all teary eyed like this.
Sangyeon looked up at the camera again, taking in a deep breath before he continues speaking.
“Sunwoo-ya, I know.. I know that our arrangement is not convenient, but please believe that I truly look forward to marrying you.”
Sunwoo’s eyes widened at that, he was completely taken aback as Sangyeon has never said this before.
“When I first found out about our marriage, I’ll admit that I was scared. But once we’ve talked things out together, I had always been sure that we’d get along well.”
Sangyeon was trying his best to voice out his thoughts despite how nervous he actually is, he has never shown his vulnerable side to Sunwoo as he didn’t want to scare the younger one away.
“Sunwoo, I’ve always admired you ever since you stood up for my sister.” Sunwoo blinked a few times, more tears running down his cheek as he thought back to the moment Sangyeon mentioned.
It was when Sangyeon’s older sister just gave birth, but her husband still reminded her that she needs to attend public events and went as far to tell her to lose weight right after. Sunwoo, having a sister himself, couldn’t hold himself back from voicing out his anger.
“With all due respect, your wife just gave birth— she MUST rest for at least a few months. A baby, your own child, just popped out of your wife’s body and you’re already asking her to lose weight? Make public appearances? That’s very inconsiderate, hyung.”
Sunwoo recalled how Sangyeon did follow after him, once he walked out of the hospital room. The older man instantly patted his head gently to calm him down.
“That day I knew how caring you are, and that you treasure family just as much as I do. I was so proud, Sunwoo-ya.” Sangyeon continued, before pausing briefly again to recollect himself.
“I’m so grateful that we spent all these years together, Sunwoo. Thanks to those years, I learnt so much about you. I know how talented you are in what you do, I know that you’re just as hardworking as I am, I know that you have a great mind— you’ve always been mature and I know you tend to hide this side of yours, but I can see how caring and kind you actually are. I’ve always been proud of my future husband.”
Sunwoo is now looking at the monitor in shock, he really doesn’t know what to say or do, only rolling his eyes on instinct as he bites back a smile.
“I know you’re probably rolling your eyes right now, but I’m not being cheesy here. This is me trying to be completely honest while risking the chance that I may actually be talking to myself, so I really hope you’re in there.”
Sunwoo couldn’t help but laugh at that, his hyung really does know him very well.
After contemplating for a few more seconds, Sunwoo let out a sigh and tried to compose himself before clicking on the access button to unlock the door. Sangyeon immediately opened the door, the weight has now been lifted off his shoulders at the sight of Sunwoo.
Noticing the younger’s puffy eyes, Sangyeon pulled him into a hug and gently caressed Sunwoo’s back. “Hyung’s really sorry, baby. Thank you for letting me in.. I hope you can forgive me?” Sangyeon slowly leans back to take a look at Sunwoo’s face.
Sunwoo really tried his best to keep his cool, but somehow he just melted into Sangyeon’s embrace and he couldn’t stop his tears from flowing again.
“Fuck, this is so embarrassing— hyung, I..” Sangyeon cupped his cheeks, wiping his tears away with his thumb. “I can’t believe I made you cry.. I really messed up this time. Hey, it’s okay, hyung’s here now.” Sunwoo decided that it was his turn to let go and speak his mind.
“I wasn’t angry or anything, I guess.. I was just sad or scared? I don’t know. I ended up thinking about everything, about the times where I really felt like you actually cared and the times where I went out of my way to make you like me more. I tried to remind myself that the news outlets are full of shit, but seeing those photos.. I just broke down. I felt like I wasn’t worthy enough for you again.. I felt like you really just forced yourself to be with me, hyung.”
Sangyeon’s heart ached listening to Sunwoo’s words, he gently caressed the younger’s cheeks with his thumb as he shook his head.
“No, ever since we confirmed our marriage together, I never felt forced to be with you. Yes, this all happened because of our family but I have always wanted to be with you, Sunwoo. You and I both know that our parents wouldn’t force us to stay together if we said no.”
“And what’s this about not being worthy for me? Sunwoo.. I’ve always been proud of you as a person. I’ll make myself more clear this time, okay? I like you. I like you so much.”
Sunwoo looked up at him as he sniffled, while Sangyeon broke into a chuckle instead. The younger one was about to sulk until Sangyeon continued speaking.
“Hey, you do realize that we just admitted to liking each other for years, right?”
Sunwoo lets out a sigh and he couldn’t help but laugh as well. “You’re right. Guess, we’re dumb.” Sangyeon leaned in closer to press their foreheads together, as he looked into Sunwoo’s eyes.
“Hey, you’re really okay with being with me, right? I get scared too, you know. I worry that I’m too uptight or too boring for you, worry that I’m not good en—” The older man’s words were cut short as Sunwoo pressed their lips together.
“Now’s my turn to tell you that I like you, hyung. I like you a whole lot. To me, our differences are what actually makes us complete each other.”
Sangyeon’s still frozen with his eyes widened, before his expression slowly softens and he breaks into a grin.
“Glad I got to hear you admit that you like me too. I’ll be bringing this up for at least a whole year.”
“Oh, shut up.” Sunwoo lands a playful punch on Sangyeon’s shoulder. “Why don’t you shut me up with your lips again?” “What if I shut you up with my snot instead, old man?”
Sangyeon laughed and gently pinched Sunwoo’s cheeks. “This brat is still marrying this old man, right?”
Sunwoo lets out another sigh, biting the inner part of his cheek to hold himself back from smiling. “Yeah, this brat will marry this old man.”
Although that day started out as a mess, it ended off as one of the most treasured moments for the couple. As they continued to make up, finding comfort in each other’s embrace, the news article was immediately taken down thanks to Younghoon.
They ended up talking even more about their doubts together, Sangyeon suggesting to do so in order for them to be more open with each other.
It wasn’t easy for the both of them to be vulnerable, but the moment was right for them to finally voice out their true thoughts and feelings.
The both of them realized that they’re scared of being not good enough, when they have always been more than enough for each other.
By the end of the night, they’ve made sure to resolve all of the doubts they had about each other.
Sangyeon took Sunwoo’s hand in his and intertwined their fingers together as he looked into the younger’s eyes, “Let’s date for real this time.” Sunwoo hums, nodding along to his words.
“Not gonna lie, I thought you’d say something cheesy like ‘let’s make this our most romantic year together’.” Now, it’s Sangyeon’s turn to roll his eyes at his fiancé before flashing him a grin.
“I’m going to make the rest of our lives as our most romantic moments together, love.” Which earns him another playful punch from Sunwoo.
True to his word, Sangyeon did step up his game by actually being more romantic. He made sure he could spend more time with Sunwoo and they could end up meeting thrice a week.
Their dates are no longer just for them to eat together, but Sunwoo also took initiative in bringing the older man to new places. Sunwoo won’t admit it aloud but he wants to be romantic too, he likes seeing Sangyeon smile because of him.
With their wedding being just a year away, they’ve also started the actual wedding planning in between their tight schedules. During the process, the both of them realized they actually had a lot of similarities in what they wanted for the celebration.
They both preferred a private wedding (although, they can’t avoid a big guest list, thanks to their parents), they also easily agreed on the decor and meals for the reception too.
At this point, the wedding preparations are almost complete. All that’s left for them to prepare is their own wedding suits.
Although they did attend all of the previous planning schedules together, they decided that they should go suit hunting separately, wanting to surprise each other when they walk down the aisle instead.
While picking out suits, Sunwoo passed by a flower shop. ‘Right, I didn’t think of getting a bouquet.’ he thought as he decided to walk into the store.
Their wedding organizers have already taken care of the flowers for their wedding decor, but Sunwoo had yet to choose a bouquet for when he walks down the aisle.
As he skimmed through the selection of flowers, Sunwoo had trouble choosing until he asked the florist. “Flowers have meanings, right? What flowers mean ‘love’?”.
The florist easily showed him multiple flowers with the requested meaning, but one flower felt like it called out to him— Camellias. Hence, Sunwoo requested a multi-colored Camellia bouquet.
Sunwoo is now freshly 21, and he is currently taking in deep breaths as he waits for his cue to walk down the aisle. “You’re shaking, son. Are you alright?” Sunwoo shook his head, letting out a nervous laugh at his father.
“I’m okay, dad. Just nervous.. in a good way.” His father flashed him a grin as he started to briefly reminisce about his own wedding day with Sunwoo’s mom. Seeing how happy his father and mother retelling their special day, easily calms him down.
“I’m sure Sangyeon will be overjoyed to see you, Sunwoo-ya.” His mom says before gently patting his cheek, and with that, Changmin, his best man, walks in to give him the cue.
The doors to the aisle slowly opened up and Sunwoo held onto his bouquet, while his parents walked by his side.
Due to his nervousness, Sunwoo first focused on the flowers before he slowly looked up until his eyes met Sangyeon at the end of the altar.
There, he saw how Sangyeon’s eyes lit up once they met each other’s gaze and he couldn't help but smile widely as the older man returned his grin.
Sangyeon looked even more handsome than usual, clad in a classic black and white suit that compliments Sunwoo’s all white tuxedo.
On Sangyeon’s end, it felt like everything was going at slow motion, it was as if his breath stopped once the doors to the aisle opened.
Sunwoo looked beautiful and he almost missed the colorful bouquet, as his gaze was focused onto his future husband.
Sangyeon thought of how Sunwoo used to say he didn’t feel pretty, when really the younger man has always been beautiful to him.
Once Sunwoo reached the altar, the couple exchanged the traditional vows and said ‘I dos’ in front of the priest.
The guests were laughing and cooing at how the couple were excited to seal their marriage with a kiss, the grooms nearly bumping their noses from how quickly they were leaning into each other.
“You look beautiful, my husband.” Sangyeon says, smiling from ear to ear after pulling away from the kiss.
“I didn’t know it was possible for you to look even more handsome, my husband.” Sunwoo replied, as he leaned his forehead onto Sangyeon’s shoulder, in an effort to hide his blush.
Sangyeon chuckled as he pressed a kiss onto Sunwoo’s forehead. “The bouquet you picked is pretty, I almost didn’t notice it because I was focused on you, though.”
Sunwoo rolled his eyes, but then he grabbed Sangyeon’s hands and guided the older man to hold onto the bouquet instead.
“I chose all the colors of the same flower, it’s called a Camellia.” Before Sangyeon could ask why, Sunwoo continued as he pointed at each flower.
“White means adoration, pink is longing, red is love, yellow actually means friendship for the most part, but overall I think all of them symbolizes us. What do you think?”
Sangyeon listened to him tentatively and he nodded in agreement. “It definitely does, it fits our story together. How we started out as barely friends, until we slowly admired each other. Then, the longing came in and we finally fell in love.”
Sangyeon plants another kiss onto Sunwoo’s lips as he smiles widely. “Thank you, Sunwoo. Thank you for being mine.”
Sunwoo teared up at that but quickly pulled his husband into a hug to stop himself from crying. “Thank you for being mine too, hyung.”
After their wedding, the newly married couple can finally have time for themselves and they quickly get ready for bed together.
The both of them won’t admit it aloud yet, but it felt heartwarming to wash up together. It feels different from their usual sleepovers, it slowly hits them how domestic this feels since they are now husbands after all— husbands.
Sunwoo was the first one to lay down on the hotel bed, scrolling away on his phone before he felt the bed dip, indicating that his hyung has finally come to bed as well. Slowly, the younger man put away his phone to turn around and face Sangyeon.
A simple ‘hi’ was all that Sunwoo could say, as he couldn't help himself from feeling giddy at the sight of Sangyeon’s face right in front of him.
“Hello, husband. I see that someone is really excited to sleep with me.” Sunwoo lets out an exasperated sigh but he scoots closer to Sangyeon nonetheless. The younger man was still playing a little hard to get, as he held himself back from hugging Sangyeon.
“I hope you loved today as much as I did, baby.” Sangyeon slowly wrapped his arms around his husband, pulling him into a hug as he gently caressed Sunwoo’s back.
“Of course, I did. It’s our special day and I’m happy that you’re stuck with me for life, hyung.”
The older man chuckled, pressing a soft kiss onto the top of Sunwoo’s head. “Hey, you’re stuck with me for life too. Happily stuck together.”
Sunwoo nodded before nuzzling into his lover’s neck and returning the hug. “Wouldn’t have it any other way, my husband. Lucky to be with you.”
Sangyeon smiled as he planted another kiss onto the younger’s forehead. “Lucky to be with you. Lucky to be us, baby.”
The couple slowly drifted off to a peaceful slumber as they basked in each other’s warm embrace.
It’s been a long journey in their love, but they have yet to start a new one— this time, as a married couple.
The both of them are ready to start this journey with more confidence and stability, as they are now one, a pair of two souls finally fully entwined.
