Work Text:
In the heart of Yokohama's slums, where poverty clung to every crumbling wall and despair seeped into every cracked pavement, lived two siblings, Akutagawa and Gin. Orphaned at a young age, they found solace in each other's company amidst the harsh realities of their existence. Alongside eight other children, they eked out a meager existence, relying on each other for survival in a world that had long forgotten them.
One fateful evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the desolate streets, the children overheard whispers of a clandestine meeting among the Port Mafia. Ignorant of the danger that lurked within those words, they listened intently, their curiosity outweighing their caution.
But their innocence was shattered in an instant when a group of Mafia enforcers descended upon them, their guns blazing with merciless efficiency. Panic erupted as screams pierced the air, but amidst the chaos, Gin's quick thinking saved her and Akutagawa from the same fate that befell their friends.
As they fled into the darkness, hearts pounding with fear and grief, Gin tended to her brother's wounds with hands that shook with a mixture of adrenaline and sorrow. And when Akutagawa awoke, his eyes smoldering with righteous fury, Gin pleaded with him to abandon thoughts of vengeance, fearing the consequences of further bloodshed.
But Akutagawa's resolve remained unyielding, fueled by a burning desire to honour the memories of their fallen friends. With grim determination, he set out to confront their assailants, his steps guided by a thirst for justice that brooked no compromise.
It was then that Osamu Dazai, a figure shrouded in mystery and intrigue, extended an invitation to Akutagawa to join the ranks of the Port Mafia. Drawn by the promise of power and purpose, Akutagawa accepted, his admiration for Dazai bordering on idolatry.
And though Gin's reasons for following her brother into the heart of darkness remained veiled in secrecy, her presence within the Port Mafia served as a silent testament to the bonds of loyalty and sacrifice that bound them together.
As Akutagawa gazed upon Dazai, he saw not just a leader, but a saviour—a guiding light in a world consumed by shadows. And in his eyes, Dazai embodied everything he aspired to be: strong, cunning, and utterly unyielding in the pursuit of his goals.
