Season 7 Episode 24 - After JJ & Will’s Wedding
Emily woke up remembering Hotch was going to be at her place soon. She quickly got ready and moved around her apartment. Emily heard her doorbell and opened the door to see Hotch there.
She smiled and welcomed him in.
“You’re taking the job.” He said.
“How do you know?”
“Because I won’t let you give up such an honour. You gave the CIA, FBI, and Interpol so much, and now you can be Chief of the London Interpol Office. It’s for two years. And then if you want to come back. FBI would be stupid not to have you back.”
“But what about Jack and Henry?”
“They can come visit. I always wanted to show Jack and Jessica London. Haley and I loved it when I was the FBI and Scotland Yard liaison.”
“But Reid, Morgan, and Garica.”
“They are grown, adults. Who, yes, had the right to be angry at us for the faking of your death but should have known as agents that it is necessary for your and your mother’s safety. Also, the safety of Jack, Henry, and Jessica, who aren’t trained agents and cops.”
“Mother was thinking of taking the spot in London…”
“Even better, you can have her with you when healing.”
“But you will come and visit?” Emily asked.
Aaron saw the hopeful look in Emily’s eyes.
“Only if you will start calling me Aaron.”
Season 8 Episode 3 - Hotch & Beth Talk
In a moment of impulsivity, Aaron made a decision he knew was foolish, especially with Jack coming with him.
“Daddy, does Emmy know we’re coming?”
Aaron looked down at his seven-year-old son.
“Nope, it’s a surprise.”
“Does Grammy Lizzie know we’re coming?”
Another thing that surprised Emily and Aaron was Elizabeth demanding Jack think of her as her grandson. She sent him to the best private school in Virginia and had a trust fund set up. Elizabeth thought it meant that Emily and Aaron got their shit together, as she put it and were a couple. Sadly, she is mistaken and then demands that Jack call her Grammy Lizzie.
“Yes, she does. She sends her plane, remember?”
“Oh, right… Does Uncle Clyde know we’re here?”
Aaron gave a grim look. It was another thing he personally hated, but Emily, Jessica, and Elizabeth thought it was cute while Sean laughed at him. Clyde Easter loves Jack, Henry, and Delcan. He calls them his nephews and spoils them as such.
“Yes, he is, and he is making sure Emmy will be home on time.”
“Is Delcan going to be here?”
“Yes, but he is in school at the moment.”
Aaron remembers how the team reacted when he told them that Emily had adopted Delcan after Tom pulled out from the deal when he got a job offer he couldn’t pass up. Only JJ and Will were supported, along with Dave, about Emily having her son with her.
“Okay, can I ring the doorbell?”
Emily was upset that Clyde and her mother bullied her into staying home for the day. She couldn’t understand why they would do that to her. She heard the doorbell.
“What are you doing here?”
“Surprise!” Jack screamed.
Emily let them into the house.
“Aaron?”
“Beth and I broke up. And I realize something. She wanted to do the long distances, but I didn’t because I used that excuse to say why I didn’t kiss you after our date almost six months ago.”
“I don’t understand?” Emily said, shaking her head as they sat down on the couch.
Aaron takes her face into his hands and kisses her.
“Finally!” Jack, Elizabeth and Clyde said as they watched.
Season 8 Episode 23 - Brother Hotchner
“Okay, your brother having a club is so cool,” Emily said as she danced with him.
“Two restaurants, a diner in our hometown, and now a club,” Aaron said proudly.
Emily pulled him close, “I’m happy we are here for him after the death of his girlfriend.”
Aaron sigh.
“He still doesn’t believe she relapsed.”
“Maybe she didn’t.”
“I know; I told him I could look into it, but he isn’t ready.”
They turn to hear someone called Sean ‘Hotch.’
“Well, look at that. Sean has the same nickname as you.”
Aaron pulled a face.
Moments later, he felt his phone.
“It’s Sean.”
“What, slow down. I will be right there.”
Emily and Aaron watched as Sean spoke with Agent Jubal Valentine about the woman who was found dead.
“It’s strange that it was just like his girlfriend.”
Aaron stares at Emily.
“You don’t think…”
“Jubal told us there were a few more cases just like this, but not at the club.”
Aaron sighs again.
“Jack is going to be mad that he doesn’t have Daddy and Mama’s time.”
“Well, Jack and I can have Mama and Jack time. We go to Times Square without you as you didn’t want to go anyway.”
“They’re so cute,” Emily said as she and Aaron watched Sean and Jack sleeping. Jack was lying on top of Sean.
Aaron’s phone rang.
“She what?”
“Okay, okay. Sean is with Jack and Emily, and I will come to look for her.”
“What’s wrong?”
“He has her.”
“Who?”
“Replicator,”
Season 8 Episode 24 - The Replicator
Emily cuddled into Aaron as they sat around the table with the team. They laugh at the stories.
“I have a story that I am pretty sure no one but Aaron, Erin, and I know.”
“What’s that?” Will asked.
“Strauss hired Em to spy on me.”
“What!” Morgan, Gracia, JJ, and Reid said.
“And I quit, and you put in for a transfer.”
“Erin thought you both were sleeping together after that,” Rossi added.
“Haley?” Emily and Aaron counter.
“After Haley.”
“It makes sense now why she didn’t want you to take over for me when Foyet was happening,” Aaron said.
Emily turned to him, “You wanted me?”
“Of course. I wanted the person I trust with my life.”
Season 9 Episode 5 - Route 66
Emily cuddled an eight-year-old Jack into her as her mother arranged for Jessica to fly home from her business trip. Sean was giving blood in case Aaron needed it.
“Mama, Dad going to be okay?” Declan asked as he put down his James Bond book.
Jack looked up at her, too.
“Of course, he is. He has the best angel looking out for him.”
“Who?” Jack asked.
“Mommy, Auntie Haley,” Emily tells Jack and Declan.
Sean joins them, putting his arm around Declan.
“Aaron knows he has three significant people waiting for him. His sons and girlfriend,” Sean tells them.
Elizabeth walked in.
“The nurse said it would be another hour, and Jessica’s flight will land soon. I’m going to get her. She said that Roy wants to be here for Jack…”
“Roy can come if he respects Declan, Emily, and Aaron,” Sean said.
“It’s fine.”
Emily sat at Aaron’s bedside in his private room. Her mother had made it known that he was her son-in-law and the unit chief of an FBI team, and he needed a private room where they could have an agent post outside his room. Sean had taken the boys home because he thought his nephews needed to sleep in their beds.
Aaron has woken up over 24 hours after his surgery.
“Emily?” Savannah called.
Emily turns to look at Derek’s girlfriend.
“Yeah?”
“The team here, along with your family.”
“Yeah,”
Aaron’s hand moves. Emily felt it and started to call for him.
“Sweetheart?” Aaron said.
“Yeah,”
“Marry me?”
Season 9 Episode 6 - In the Blood
“Happy Birthday!” Elizabeth, Emily, Jack, Declan, Jessica, and Sean said.
Aaron smiled at his family as he saw Emily’s left hand.
His ring was on her left finger.
“Cake!” Jack and Declan said.
“Yes, and keep two pieces for Dad and me when we get back from Auntie Penny.”
Emily and Aaron smiled at Penelope, remembering Aaron’s birthday. They listened as everyone put photos of people they lost. Emily put photos of Matthew, Tsia, and Sean, while Aaron put a picture of Haley.
Season 9 Episode 14 - 200
“How long do we have you for?”
“Eight hours.”
Emily hugged him.
“I can’t believe it,” Will said.
“What?”
“It has been almost two years since you left the BAU.”
“I know.”
“Are you going to extend your time?” Will asked.
“No.”
JJ turned to her.
“No?”
“Aaron and I have something to tell everyone.”
Aaron smiled, “We found out on Christmas.”
“I’m pregnant. And it’s with twins,” Emily tells them.
Season 10 Episode 5 - Boxed In
“Four kids down for the count after Halloween,” Jessica told her.
“I don’t know what was more stressful. Changing names and godparents for the kids or this.”
Emily and Aaron had decided that the boys and their twin girls needed godparents and changed their names for them.
Jack was named Jack Gideon Hotchner and had no godparents, so Aaron and Emily decided Haley needed to be honoured in Jack’s name. Jack was now Jack Brooks Hotchner and Dave and Jessica were godparents.
Declan was Declan Matthew Hotchner, and Clyde and JJ were his godparents.
Their twins are Elena Haley Hotchner and Esme Tsia Hotchner, and their godparents are Penelope and Derek for Elena and Reid and Will for Esme.
“I’m here.” They heard Aaron call as he got into the house.
“Upstairs.”
“He didn’t want to change without you seeing him.”
Jessica and Emily smile as Aaron kisses Jack goodnight.
Season 10 Episode 9 - Fate
“Wait, Dave has a daughter?” Emily asked as Aaron got into bed.
“And a grandson and son-in-law.”
“Wow…”
“I know.”
“Do we get to meet her?”
“Dave is bringing her over for Sunday dinner.”
“Wow, he really wants her to meet the whole family?”
“Savannah and Sam didn’t run away…”
“No, Honey… I mean, Dave does know my mother is friends with his second ex-wife? I used to have his daughter run around after me like I did with Clyde.”
Aaron thought about it.
“Oh, it’s the same Joy…”
“Sunday is going to be wild.”
“You have been spending too much time with our sons.”
Season 10 Episode 13 - Nelson’s Sparrow
Emily held on to Aaron as they watched everyone get into their SUV.
“You know, I found an old photo of Gideon and my dad,” Emily tells Aaron.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, it’s funny that Gideon worked with both my parents and me. He did send us those stuffed birds for the twins.”
“He did.”
“And we will teach our kids about what an amazing man their Uncle Gideon was and how he and Uncle Dave found the BAU, which is how their parents reconnected.”
Season 10, Episode 20 - A Place at the Table
“You’re doing the right thing with Roy. Haley would want this.”
Aaron sighed and turned to face Emily in bed.
“Why do I feel off?”
“Because Roy has been awful to you since Jack was born, and you feel like this is an attack on our relationship. And it’s not. Was Roy rude to me today? Yes, but I understand—
“Not in your own home.”
“He sees another woman raising his daughter’s son. And that you’re more present here in this relationship with all four children and me than with Haley and Jack. Roy had never heard Haley’s last words or knew that Haley told Jessica that she wanted you and me together. He sees you moving on and that Jack gained three siblings from you, not his mother.”
“I love you, and I am sorry about this.”
“Don’t be sorry. I will take Roy’s anger if it means Jessica, Jack, and you have a piece of Haley around.”
Season 10, Episode 21 - Mr. Scratch
Emily rushed through the hospital with Sean and Jessica on her toes. Savannah called them weirdly, asking them to get to the hospital. Lucky for them, Meg, Henry, Will, and Chris were at the house with them, and Will and Chris told them they were driving.
“Are we sure Roy and Mother can handle two boys, the twins, and two teenagers?” Emily asked as they almost got to Savannah.
“Yeah, JJ’s Mama was coming over too.”
“Savannah!” Chris called out.
“Hi,” Savannah said.
“What’s going on?”
“Derek called and said they were on this case. It’s strange. Very strange.”
Savannah explained to them about Mr. Scratch and how Mr. Scratch was dead, but Aaron was acting strangely. She told them that he got through everything with flying colours, and the only strange thing was his recount; as Aaron explained, he watched the team and his family die in front of him.
“The drug the others had gotten must have done this,” Will said.
“Yes, but he was so sure that Mr. Scratch gave himself up, but he didn’t, as Aaron never told him what he saw. Rossi killed him.” Savannah told them.
“Aaron’s version doesn’t line up with what happened. Is he okay?” Sean asked.
“Yes, and he said he needed to speak with Emily before seeing anyone else.”
Emily got into Aaron’s room.
“Hi,”
“Hi, Sweetheart.”
“Aaron, what’s going on?”
Aaron stares at her.
“You’re happy running the Prentiss charity, right?”
“Yes, I can still make a difference in the world and have time for the kids. Why do you ask?”
“What if I left the BAU… And the FBI?”
Emily stares at him.
“What would you do?”
“Teach or practice law again.”
“Aaron, what’s really going on?”
“He wanted to hurt you and the kids… I can’t go through another Foyet.”
“He’s gone, Aaron.”
“I know… What about the next Doyle or Foyet or Scratch? I’m just so tired, and I had two close deaths, and I’m ready for more time with you all than without you.”
“Okay, if this is what you want and need, then we can do it.”
“Okay.”
Aaron leaves the BAU and has Derek take over the team while Emily and he finally get married with the team being there.
