Summary:

Just a compilation of shorts story, where the units from planet Cray live normally in earth (with their original form)

Chapter Text

With the defeat of Gyze. The connection between planet Cray and Earth that once was made because of a contact between one unit from Cray with a human boy that turned into a singularity slowly disappears. Vanguard still exists but earthling’s imagination won’t reach Planet Cray anymore which means that there won’t be a case of units from Cray coming to earth in any form.

Or so what the singularity himself thinks.

“Chrono! What’s that??”

“Chrono! I want to try that!!!”

He looks at the little gear dragon that excitedly flies around the street—looking at the food sample that is put outside the restaurant display case. How did this happen? Eh? He still remembers the day when the little dragon said that once the connection between Cray and Earth disappeared they wouldn't be able to meet anymore.

Then explain why the little dragon is here? Not only them—but he sees that the unit from planet Cray just casually walks or fly around the street without anyone questioning things.

“Ah, Jicchan! Jicchan!! Here!!” The boy that is called Chrono stops walking as his gaze meets another dragon, who is called ‘Jicchan’ by the little dragon that is now waving to the other dragon, waiting for him to come there.

“Wait… aren’t you guys the same person? Why are you calling him Jicchan?” asked Chrono, but the little dragon just answers it with ‘because Jicchan is Jicchan’ leaving Chrono confused. The bigger dragon arrives there and the little dragon immediately flies and stays beside the bigger dragon.

“... Can’t believe myself that I would see this view—well there’s time where Dran was in earth—my fault, but to see you and the other here is just so weird—not in negative way though.” Said Chrono, the little dragon who is called Dran also says that he doesn’t understand as well.

“But everyone here is so kind! Even though some of us don't look like them, they treat us like usual!” Said Dran, which is approved by the bigger dragon beside him. The bigger dragon also states that he  can easily buy everything that he needs and even get a job.

“Now that you mention the job, I heard you got a job at the Headquarter of Vanguard Association?” Asked Chrono, the dragon—Chronojet Dragon just nodded. He told Chrono that Messiah’s Vanguard, Ibuki himself, is the one that offers him the job.

“Hee, isn’t that cool?” Said Chrono, which followed with Dran saying something like ‘Jicchan is so cool!’, Chronojet didn’t say anything but Chrono can tells by the face (actually no, it’s flat as fuck) that Chronojet is pretty happy. A smile appears on Chrono’s face—and then he reminds Dran about the food that he wants to eat.

“How about we try that place as a celebration of Chronojet getting his job.” Dran’s eyes sparkled as he heard that and happily agreed.

“Then the tab will be on me—” Chrono shakes his head and says that he will be the one who pays—it’s his idea after all, Chrono also adds that he won’t accept any form of disagreement.

“I’m the one paying, period.”

“Period!” Dran happily repeats Chrono’s words. Chronojet (let out a sigh?) and just agree with that. They then enter the restaurant and eat a lot of things (mostly Dran tho) and talk about basically anything.

“Oh my, what a beautiful flower.” Ahsha says as she is now looking at the flower at a florist. She’s now walking with a knight following behind her—a green haired knight that is also looking at the beautiful flower.

“...” one flower caught his eyes and he bought it without any hesitation. Once he got a bucket of flowers that he got, he then called Ahsha. She turns around and sees the knight’s hand move, putting a flower on her hair.

“As I expected, it really suits your beauty… Miss Ahsha?” The knight stops as he sees Ahsha’s face turn slightly red and asks whether the woman feels uncomfortable or whatsoever.

“If I am being rude, I apologize.” Said the knight, but Ahsha immediately said that he’s not being rude. And explain that she’s just surprised—nothing less and nothing more.

“But thank you, Altmile… I’ll treasure this flower.” Ahsha says with a soft smile. Now it’s Altmile's turn to become silent and slightly feels warm on his cheek, he then just tell that he’s doing it because he thinks it will look good on Ahsha. Ahsha just lets out a small laugh and tells the knight that she understands that. After buying several more flowers, both of them continue their walk.

“Transferred student? Why suddenly?” Shion looks at Henri who is now preparing snacks for Hashima Rin—the 3rd year Vanguard Club member who is now sitting on the club sofa. He also added that the new student is interested in the Vanguard club.

“It’s always good to hear more people interested in our club.” Says Shion, Rin doesn’t say anything as she’s uninterested in the topic and just starts to eat her snacks.

“Yeah—I think he should have arrived now…”

“Hee, so this is the vanguard club, huh…” a boy's voice comes closer—Shion turns around to see who comes—it must be the transferred student.

“Ah, welcome to the Vanguard Club, Luard-kun.” Henri says—the boy… the elf that is called Luard just nods and then looks at Shion. Who can’t hide his shock. What stands before him is an elf—who weirdly wears a Fukuhara uniform, but that’s not the problem.

“Hm? Something’s wrong??” ask the elf—Shion immediately says that there’s nothing wrong—the elf walks closer to Shion—like really close that their faces are almost an inch away from each.

“A—anyway, can I ask why you got transferred here?” Ask Shion—Luard steps away and explains that Messiah’s Vanguard is the one who arranged everything and he also says that he doesn’t know anything about school.

“But then that Messiah’s Vanguard just says school is funny—and I maybe can find something interesting in this uninteresting planet—and then this…. I forgot who told me about this vanguard. So this is the game that made me know Kazuma huh? And that’s why I’m here.” Shion thinks—so the unit knows their vanguard—even when they have never diffride them before. Interesting… Shion then asks whether there’s more people on Cray that got to earth.

“Well, there’s a lot basically—but from what I remember, there’s Chronojet Dragon, and Chrono Dran… also Ahsha, Gurguit… Altmile, Shiranui… yeah there’s a lot of them if I mention all my throat will go dry.” Luard says—it explains the weird view of a dragon flying in the sky and some non-humanoid being eating in a cafe with a normal human.

“Is there any reason why you guys can go to this planet—I remember Chrono explaining that since he’s no longer the singularity of Gear Chronicle, there won’t be any deep connection between Planet Cray and Earth.” Luard thinks for a while and just simply says that he doesn’t know.

“If you want to ask something like that, ask Chronojet—not me, how I’m supposed to know that, I ain't a time and space researcher—I’m a dragwizard.” Luard also added that—Shion just let out a sigh and said that maybe if he had the time.

“Anyway, welcome to our Vanguard Club, Luard—hope you have the best experience here.” Shion reached out his hand to Luard—which the elf accepted with his dragonic arm.

“Now we will introduce you to a new transferred student.” One morning in Harumi High School, the homeroom started like usual–except it started with the introduction of a new student. An orange haired young man enters the class room and introduces himself. Chrono who was looking at the window is now turns to see

“Greetings, my name is Gurguit—glad to be your acquaintance.”

“Eh?”

And then the lunchtime starts—Chrono is about to get his bento box before someone approaches him.

“The Vanguard of My vanguard… Shindou Chrono, glad to meet you. I won’t expect that we will be… this ‘classmate’ thing.” Chrono looks at the young man who just approaches him, it’s Gurguit. Chrono just awkwardly says hi and then asks if the young man wants to have lunch with them.

“It’s a good idea, but I don’t have that thing.” Gurguit points his finger on Chrono’s table—where he puts his bento box, Chrono then smiles and says that he made it for several people so Gurguit can have some.

“Really, then I will gladly accept that offer.” Chrono says that they will eat outside—as Kazuma may already be waiting for that, Gurguit just nods and then follows.

On the way, they talk about how people from Cray can come to earth after what happened to Gyze, but as Chrono expected, Gurguit doesn’t know as well. He already asked Chronojet Dragon and found no answers.

“You are late, Chrono… wait who’s that?” Chrono looks at the blue haired boy with white strike who is already sitting and opening his water bottle—drinking it. Chrono just apologizes and then explains that it’s Gurguit, who got transferred here.

“I see, so he’s—-SAY WHAT??” An explosion of shock coming from Kazuma makes Chrono have to cover his ears, and then tells him to not shout like that. Kazuma just apologizes, and then Chrono also tell that there’s already a lot of Cray units that got to earth. Kazuma has no choice but to accept that since he himself has seen the units living normally there.

“If I’m not mistaken, Luard and Miss Uluru are transferred to Fuku…hara? I think it sounds like that.” Kazuma widened his eyes—Luard is here as well, while Chrono already knows that Uluru got transferred to Fukuhara as Uluru herself told him that.

“But, aren’t you guys older than us? Yet why are you here?” Asks Kazuma —Gurguit then says that their age isn’t really that different, but he is also confused since he only accepts the offers from the vanguard of Messiah.

“Vanguard of Messiah—Ibuki, hm.” Chrono put his hand on his chin—thinking that Ibuki might know something, but he maybe just wanted the units to experience living on earth.

“Well, let’s put that aside and eat our lunch—or else the lunch break will be over.” Chrono says. He also adds that Gurguit will have some of the dishes—Kazuma is pretty pissed but then just let him do that—after all he is not one making it.

“Then, let’s eat!” Chrono says and the three of them eat in peace.

“I heard from Maa-kun that the Croquette Bread here is delicious.” Kazumi walks to a bread shop, his little brother Shouji Kazuma is the one that told him about that, well to be honest, Kazuma also knows that from Chrono.

“...”

“Welcome to… ah, Kazumi-dono—is there anything I can help?” but instead of a normal human—he found a dragon that was welcoming him to the bread shop. And that’s not only a dragon.

“Shiranui?”

But a unit that can be said as his avatar—his other self, Stealth Dragon, Shiranui. But Kazumi chose to put that aside first and just ordered the Croquette bread that he wanted to buy—he was planning to get 3 of them for Kazuma and Kazuma’s mother as he wanted to have a visit.

“So… you work here now?” Asked Kazumi, trying to open a conversation. Shiranui just answered that the owner is so kind that not only he saved the poor dragon from hunger but also gave him a job—so he can afford a place to stay and a meal to eat.

“We don’t know why we can visit earth again, but since my last visit was not really that good, I didn’t really enjoy it. But guess I can now.” Shiranui says as he gives the paper bag with the Croquette breads inside, he also said that he already asked Chronojet but this also seems a weird situation for the Time Dragon himself.

“Also, it’s good to see him once again. After all he is actually—”

“Two Croquette breads please—wait, you are… Shiranui??” Shiranui stops talking as there’s another customer that is coming to buy the bread—it’s very popular after all, and gladly there are two left.

“Shindou Chrono… yes, I’m working here now… two Croquette breads are ready to be served.” Shiranui says as he puts the bread inside a paper bag and then gives it to Chrono.

“Ah, Kazumi-san…” Shindou, who realizes that there’s Kazumi here, greets him and bows—after paying the bread, he bids farewell—saying that Ibuki is waiting for him now.

“Bye bye, Shindou-kun… hm? What do you want to say just now?” Kazumi asks but Shiranui says that it doesn’t really matter. Confused, Kazumi then take the bag and then leave the place, he also tells Shiranui to visit Kazumi’s place—he would like to have meal with the one that guides him throughout the game called ‘Vanguard’

“Sure I’ll come to visit.” Says Shiranui and then he continues work like usual.

“I’m home.”

“Uluru, welcome home!!” Uluru who just came home is welcomed by a small dragon that is waiting in front of the living room. Uluru puts her shoes inside the shoe rack and then walks closer to the little dragon.

“Is Chronojet Dragon-sama not home yet?” Uluru asks as she holds the little dragon on her arm. The little Dragon—Chrono Dran just explains that normally Grandpa will home at 5. Uluru looked at the clock—it’s still 3 pm, so there are still 2 hours before Chronojet Dragon comes back from work.

“Then, there’s time to make dinner… actually, Chrono-sama’s guardian parent, Mikuru-sama just told me an interesting recipe from this thing called Smartphone. She said that we can cook it together.” Uluru says. Dran looks at her with sparks in his eyes and then excitedly says that he wants to cook with Uluru.

“But first we have to buy the ingredients—please wait for a moment, I will go change my clothes and we can start buying the ingredients at the supermarket.” Chrono Dran just nods and then he flies to the living room, while waiting for Uluru to change from her school uniform to a more casual outfit.

“Chrono Dran-sama, I’m done changing—let’s go shopping.” Uluru says as she walks closer to the sofa where the little dragon is now watching some anime. He then turns around to Uluru and they go to the supermarket.

It doesn’t take long for them to buy all the ingredients that they need—after putting everything on the table, Uluru takes her smartphone, seeing what she should do with the things in front of her.

“This recipe is called Curry—Mikuru-sama said that it's a very simple recipe, so I need to try. And then this for-kids knife that I bought… You can use it to cut some vegetables. Remember to use it carefully.” Uluru says—she then prepares the rest while Chrono Dran is tasked to cut some vegetables like carrot and celery (of course Uluru demonstrates it first.)

And so began their cooking time.

“...Uluru… is curry supposed to look like this?” Ask Chrono Dran, he looks at the pot, where there’s something that is supposed to be curry—yet seems like they failed to make it. But Uluru says that the taste is everything—and try the curry.

“Ughh…”

“Uluru?? Are you okay?? Here drink!” Chrono Dran immediately gives the Gearoid girl a glass of water and the girl just drinks it in one go.

Guess taste-wise, that is also not good enough to be a curry. Uluru then puts her hand on her chin, thinking where she went wrong—she looks at the pot, the vegetable has been cut—in slightly large chunks, but it should not be a problem, since they can just cut them when they want to eat. The soup(?) is pretty dry and seems burnt, there’s also some burnt in the vegetables but it is not a problem…

Wait.. that might be a problem.

“Uluru?” Dran looking at Uluru who is now focused on the pot—thinking of where they messed up the recipe. Chrono Dran then again calls her and she is just looking at the dragon, who asks whether he should call Chrono for help.

“Chrono-sama, huh? Yes please—maybe he can help us with the problem that we face now.” Uluru says. Chrono Dran then takes Uluru’s phone and calls Chrono. Uluru looks at the clock, there’s still time until Chronojet Dragon comes back from work but it’s not really enough. There’s also almost no ingredients left for the new batch of curry—she then tells Chrono Dran that she will go back to the supermarket to buy new ingredients since almost all of them are already used. Chrono Dran just nods and then tell that he will wait for Chrono instead.

And it takes several minutes before Chrono arrives—gladly Uluru has also already come back with more ingredients to cook the curry.

“...Is that… curry?” Chrono looks at the ‘Curry’ that was previously made by Uluru and Dran—Uluru closes her eyes and disappointedly answers the question. Chrono looks at it seriously and then begins to tell Uluru where’s the problem with the curry.

“I’ll make a new one, make sure to look at me so next time it won’t become like this.” Chrono says—putting the apron on, he begins to cook—cutting the vegetables to a smaller size than the one that is on the ‘failed pot’ and the celery, carrot and onion got chopped instead of just being cut.

He then just throws everything, celery, carrot and onion goes first, and then gets sauted for a while, he then adds some of the chicken, cooks it until the skin is slightly changing color into brown before then he puts some water in and also the instant curry paste in and then stir it, and let it simmer with low heat. Uluru then realized her second mistake—by not lowering the fire, that’s why the curry got burnt.

“Then, while waiting for the curry to be done. Let’s make other simple dishes—like, I save some of the chicken, let’s make some karaage!” Chrono says. Uluru just nods and then they use the rest of the time making dinner.

And then all the dinner is ready, and prepared on the table. Chrono sweeps the sweat that flows from his temple and then looks at the clock. It’s supposed to be the time.

“Then the dinner is ready, I will take my leave—”

“Chrono-sama, why don’t you have a meal with us?” Uluru asks—Chrono looks at the gearoid, he then remembers that today his guardian parent, Mikuru will come late and tell Chrono to eat dinner without her. He then agrees to have dinner with the three.

“Ah, that’s Jicchan!” The little Dragon then excitedly flies to the front door—welcoming the one that just came home. It took several minutes for them to get into the dining room.

“Welcome back, Chronojet Dragon sama, let’s have dinner, you must be hungry.” Chronojet looks at the table, there are four servings of curry rice, along with a big plate of Karaage and four servings of egg salads, for the drink there’s just simple mugicha.

“Uluru… did you make this?” ask the dragon, Uluru just explains that Chrono is the one that makes all of this, they are just assisting. Chronojet looks at Chrono before sitting in the seat next to him.

“This looks delicious, thanks.” Chrono just embarrassedly said that he’s just helping Uluru and Dran because they messed up their curry, but then he adds that they should eat now since the curry is still warm.

“Then, bon appetit.” say everyone here, their spoons move to spoon the curry and put it inside their mouth.

“This is so delicious, Chrono! So you are good at cooking as well!!” Dran says as he excitedly eats the curry rice, Chrono just answers that he needs to be good at that since he’s often left alone at home as Mikuru is having her job and sometimes needs to go on a business trip for several days.

“So this is curry… very delicious.” Uluru says as she also eats the curry rice but lot calmer–she then looks at Chronojet, he doesn’t say anything but judging from his face (which is still flat as fuck) or maybe the aura around him (what aura?) Uluru can tell that the dragon is also satisfied with the meal. Seeing that grows a smile on Uluru’s face.

“Uluru? Has something happened?” Dran asks. Uluru just explains that she’s happy now because everyone enjoyed the dinner. Dran also says that he enjoyed the dinner.

And with that, one day has passed.

Today was a good day for a certain knight—even though he doesn’t know why he suddenly transferred here but as long as he can be with his vanguard.

Or that’s what he thought.

“What…”

“What are you doing here?! Blaster Dark!!!”

He points at the similar knight with him—except having the polar opposite color with him, who now sips on his coffee. Beside him there’s a young man—probably around his 20s who is trying to calm the knight down. Meanwhile, the other knight—Blaster Dark, pays no shit and continues his meal, making the knight more pissed off.

“Calm down, Blaster Blade… it’s just a coincidence that I meet Blaster Dark here.” The knight—who is called Blaster Blade just glaring at Blaster Dark who then snorts and says that Blaster Blade is so childish for being angry over this small matter.

“What did you just say?!”

“I said that you are childish…”

The situation between them becomes more tense, Aichi starts to panic, unknown to the way to stop them from fighting. While both of the knights are still staring at each other, Blaster Blade with the sharp glare while Blaster Dark with his mocking smile.

“Stop it you two… looks, you guys troubled Sendou Aichi… what a child.” Both of the ‘Blaster’(s) looked at another knight who just came and then let out his sigh and looked at Sendou Aichi—who now is looking at him in amazement.

“Lord Alfred… but he’s the one that starts—”

“Knight makes no excuse. It still doesn’t change the fact that you make our Vanguard, Sendou Aichi, in trouble.” Blaster Blade doesn’t complete his sentence and straightly apologizes to Aichi, who immediately says that it’s okay and there’s no need for Blaster Blade to apologize. While Blaster Dark says that it’s Blaster Blade’s fault for being such a child and says that he doesn’t need to apologize. Alfred just lets out another sigh and ignores that, it’s not like Blaster Dark will hear his words—especially since the knight is in a different clan with them.

“Anyway, what are you guys doing here?” asks Alfred. Aichi just explains that they are about to have some lunch. Blaster Blade then adds that originally this is supposed to be only between him and Sendou Aichi, but then when he arrived here, there’s already Blaster Dark who was just casually eating his meal.

“Sendou Aichi asked me if I want to have a meal with him too, stop thinking that you are special.” Claims Blaster Dark, Blaster Blade then asks Sendou Aichi to confirm whether the dark knight’s claim is true and Sendou Aichi just nods and tell that the merrier the better.

“Also… even when it was only for a while but Blaster Dark was also my avatar-like being, so I want to be friendlier with him.” Blaster Blade looks at the dark knight who again sips his coffee—who looks so satisfied with Aichi’s explanation. Blaster Blade then takes a sigh and then just sits beside Sendou Aichi, telling him that's what the young man wants.

“The problem here is done huh? Then I’ll take my leave… there’s something that I have to do.” Alfred said. Aichi asks whether the man before them can join the lunch, but the man just apologizes and says that this is urgent and so after binding goodbye, he leaves the scene.

“Just tell me what you want to try, okay?” Said Aichi. Blaster Blade just nods and then looks at the menu, some of the meal—or maybe he should say, most of the menu is unfamiliar to him. He then asks Aichi for some recommendations.

“Maybe you’ll like this.” Aichi says. The three then continue their lunch without any fuss (I hope so).

Chapter Text

“Can you move it to that side? Thank you so much!”

It was a busy day in Dragon Empire Branch. A dragon looks at some people who run with boxes on their hands. Sometimes someone calls him to help them decorate the first floor of the building—especially with some places where humans can’t reach, like the ceilings or other places.

He then hears someone is calling for him—he walks closer and then helps the staff, basically there’s a small problem with the lamp on the ceiling—but his hand can’t handle something as fragile as a lamp bulb, so instead he helps the staff to reach the ceiling by lifting them. After changing the lamp, the dragon gently puts the staff on the floor again.

“Thank you so much Mr. Overlord! You are really a help!” the Dragon just nods and then leaves because there’s another call for him. He stands before Anjou Mamoru—the one who is in charge of decorating the room for tomorrow's event. He looks so busy—ordering the other staff what they need to do. After noticing the Dragon—-Dragonic Overlord behind him, he then turns around and smiles at the dragon.

“So… how’s your work today? Are you having fun?” ask the man, the dragon went silent for several seconds before nodding—the smile on Mamoru’s face grew bigger and say that he was glad that the dragon beside him was enjoying his first day working as volunteer staff for the Dragon Empire weekly event. After FICA’s is being used again, Dragon Empire Branch’s is busy with quests and events—it’s like getting back to their old states.

“Feel free to walk around and see the building more.” Nodding to the man, the dragon then leaves him. He walks to a place with the 1:1 scale figures of the dragon empire’s unit, with one being himself—-mind you that he slightly minimizes his size so he can move more freely without disturbing other people.

“Mom, look! It’s Dragonic Overlord!!” The Dragon turns his gaze to a boy that is pointing his finger at him—but the mom reminds the boy that pointing finger at people like that is rude… but then corrects that to a dragon… since, yeah, the Dragonic Overlord is a dragon, not a human like them.

“I’m sorry…” The boy apologizes, but then he seems to remember something—he then grabs something from his pocket—which looks like candy and then gives it to Dragonic Overlord.

“Here’s a candy! Have you ever tasted this before—it’s so sweet and can make you happy!” The dragon tilts his head confused—but then he kneels so it’s easier for the boy to give him the candy. It was a very little thing—wrapped in a paper. He then put the candy—with the paper still intact and ate them. He can taste the sweetness of the candy but at the same time he tastes weird paper—the boy screams and then explains that the Dragonic Overlord is supposed to peel the paper first before eating the candy. He then gets another candy—peels the paper wrapper and then gives that to the dragon.

“Here, now it should be only sweet.” The Dragon eats the candy—there’s no weird papery taste, only the sweetness from the candy that he can taste now. Slowly enjoying the candy, the dragon looks so happy. It makes the boy smile too. He then asks the dragon if he’s busy now. The dragon just shakes his head, the boy while chucking then asks if he wants to play with him and his mom.

The dragon looks at the boy before nodding—he then asks the boy whether he wants to be lifted and sit on his shoulder—which the boy excitedly nods. The mom just giggles seeing the boy having fun with the unit. The three then start their journey on the Dragon Empire Branch building.

But the boy doesn’t know the other reason why the dragon is so happy—seeing the boy reaching out to him like that, reminding him of Kai when he was kid. Even when he had a-not-very-good-childhood, even when he only knew it just a bit.

They are stopped on the fight table—there are a lot of people using them. Even though people are preparing for the event the next day, some of the facilities are still open to the public, including the fighting table. The boy’s friend waved his hand at him, and ran towards him.

“Huaa, the real Dragonic Overlord! Takeru, Why are you with him? Man, I’m so jealous!!” the other boy says. The boy that is called Takeru just tells the boy—who he calls Masaru that he meets him at the main entrance. Takeru then asks the dragon to put him down—slowly, he reaches the floor.

“I want to be lifted too… but now it’s Fight time! I already built the perfect deck to beat you!” Masaru says—Takeru puts a grin on his face and tells him that he won’t lose either. The boy gets to the fight table and then fights with all of their heart.

“Vanguard Club?”

Uluru looking at Luard that is now on his way to the Vanguard Club—they accidentally meet in the corridor. Uluru remembers that she doesn’t join any ‘clubs’ yet.

“What? Interested? You can come with me tho” The girl looks and then nods—but then she also adds that she doesn’t know how to play or doesn’t have a deck. But Luard just proudly says that he can help Uluru with that. After thinking for a while, Uluru then nods and then both of them walk to the Vanguard Club.

“Greetings, The Descendant of Fides, and his friend.” Everyone at the club is looking at Uluru now, Hayao Henri as the club captain then walks closer to her and asks her whether she’s interested in the club. Uluru just nods—she then says that she’s here because of Luard’s offer—but actually she’s been interested in Vanguard since the first day she got here.

“It's just I have no time to do that—but now that I’m here, I think I can try… but I don’t know how to play and have no deck… Is that okay?” Asks Uluru. Henry just smiles and says that it’s okay—there’s plenty of people here that can teach her Vanguard—he also adds that he’s happy to know that there’s people who are interested in Vanguard and joining his club.

“And if you want to try playing for the first time—you can use my deck. Just for knowing the rule—then you can build your own deck.” Shion says as he handles his deck case to Uluru. She just receives it and thanks Shion for his kindness.

“Then how about me teaching you how to fight?” Luard says. Uluru looks at him and then nods—both of them are walking towards the fighting table and then Luard begins his teaching fight. Telling her to choose one grade 0 unit and put it face down, then shuffles the deck.

“Pick 5 cards. Here you can pick the card that you think you don’t need—usually the triggers cuz it’s better to get them during the drive check instead, put them in the deck and then shuffle—later pick cards the same amount as you put on the deck.” Uluru looks at the cards on her hand—she then picks three cards and then puts that back on her deck and shuffles it—taking another 3 cards—the elf before her tells that the good hand has a variant grade—from one to three, he says as taking two cards—after shuffling his deck.

“Then we gotta say—stand up Vanguard! While flipping the first card that is in the vanguard circle. Here we go…” After explaining the basic rule for drawing the cards—they finally begin the cardfight.

“Stand up, Vanguard!”

“Stand up, Vanguard!”

“Deck building?” Chrono looking at Uluru—right after her first fight against Luard, she decided to make her own deck, yet doesn’t know how to build one. Like for example, what should she think in order to make a good deck? Is there any kind of calculation or something like that? But then she remembers that Chrono is a good fighter, and working in a card shop, so maybe she can ask him for help.

She then explains that she recently just joined the Fukuhara High School Vanguard club and wants to make her own deck—but she doesn’t know what she should look for first if she wants to make one. Chrono then says that first she needs to find what clan that she likes—it doesn’t matter what clan is, just what makes her feel that she wants to play with it. She then looks at Chrono and says that she wants to play with the same deck as Chrono.

“Wait, let me see since Gear Chronicle is not really massively produced. Gonna get my deck first. And maybe I’ll have to ask Ibuki about that.” Chrono says as he runs to his locker—getting his deck case. Uluru actually wants to stop but it’s already too late.

Chrono then came back and told her that it may take several times more—but he has some unused grade 3 cards because—for certain reasons. He will ask Ibuki if there’s some more grade 2 or lower and maybe trigger cards to complete the deck. Chrono then says that this card might be good for Uluru.

Several days later…

“I won…” Uluru looks at the fighting table—after several days, she is finally able to finalize her deck—thanks to Gear Chronicle being such a rare deck with only two users so far—now three with Uluru joining the gang. She seems so shocked but then looks at Luard who is also as disbelieving as her. He then asks her for a rematch and declares that he will win this time. A small smile appears on Uluru's face and says that she won’t lose. Shion and Henri just look at the two with smiles on their faces.

“Huh??! Fuck, I got fooled!” Dumjid looks at Shiranui and Amaruda who are standing with their ‘vanguards’—ah there’s another young boy who stands besides the vanguard of Shiranui, Onimaru Kazumi and also Verno Fahrenheart, the vanguard of Amaruda.

“Um… I… I’m sorry.” the boy—Saori Fuchidaka apologizes in a very small voice. Dumjid shouts his disbelief on how weak his vanguard is but then Shiranui told him that belittling their own vanguard is same as belittling oneself. Then the unit asks why he is called here.

“Lemme explain.” Dumjid looks at Kazumi who is smiling proudly at everyone there. He then explains that as a team, they are lacking in activities together and since the units from the Cray are also here—it would be good if they can do something together.

“After all, you guys are the ones who fight in the Under-20 Championship after all.” Kazumi says and he also adds that it would be a nice thing to get some rest after—any job that the units get. Shiranui with his part-time job at the bread shop, Amaruda with her job at hair salon and also Dumjid who still does any job as long as he gets paid.

“This is stupid, I’m leaving.” Dumjid is about to leave before Kazumi tells him that he will pay the unit—and wants it to be treated as a job. Dumjid turns around and ask whether Kazumi is this stupid, but Kazumi just answer that Saori will be sad if Dumjid just leave like that, Dumjid looks at the boy—who looks at him shyly—letting out a sigh, Dumjid then says that he will follow them, but also adds because it’s a job and he will never turn down any job.

He can see some weird happy aura from Saori that is smiling and try to walk closer to the unit, he then stops right before Dumjid and hopes that the unit will enjoy their small vacation.

“Hmph, don’t get me wrong. I’m here for work—not for enjoying vacation.” Saori just awkwardly laughs at Dumjid’s reply, then after talking for several minutes—Kazumi brings them to the actual place they intended to go to.

It was a newly opened shopping mall. The one that claims to be the biggest mall in the city.

“Interesting.”

A short comment comes from Amaruda, she then tells that she once visited something called mall but it’s pretty smaller than this one, here she can see not only clothes shops, but also food stalls and even a game center. Kazumi says that they can do whatever they want here before moving to the next place.

“Huh? What happened to your ‘doing activities together’ huh?” Kazumi just looks at Dumjid that there’s still plenty of time before that and also adds that having a quality time with the avatar unit is also one of today’s targets. Shopping, playing games, or just walking around there—they are free to do anything but leaving this place—in case that’s what Dumjid will do.

“Fine, fine—brat, let’s go to the game center, there’s nothing that I can do except that.” says Dumjid—Saori just nods and two of them are walking towards the game center, while Amaruda dan Verno are saying that they are going to buy some clothes and also make up leaving Kazumi and Shiranui. Shiranui takes a glance at Kazumi who looks so happy seeing his teammates and their avatar unit are having fun.

“Kazumi…” Kazumi looks at Shiranui who is now looking at the view before him—remembering what happened during the under-20 championship, then he asks whether the boy doesn’t have any hatred toward Shiranui.

“Why should I hate you?” Shiranui looks surprised by that reply and then tells that he basically took over Kazumi’s body and created a big mess in this planet—not only that but basically he was the one that was responsible for the apostles and even worse Gyze to descend there—almost destroying this planet.

“Not only that I make you look evil—I also…”

“Shiranui.”

But a call from Kazumi stops Shiranui from continuing his sentence—the unit looks at the white haired man beside him, the man closes his eyes but a wide smile appears on his face. He then explains that maybe it’s true that Shiranui was taking over his body for not-so-good purpose, maybe Shiranui was doing bad things, maybe Shiranui was partially responsible for Gyze’s descending.

“But you know what, you also helped me.” Confused, Shiranui asked how he helped Kazumi. Kazumi just looks at the dragon beside him and then says that Shiranui created the opportunity for him to face Kazuma. He explains that after Kazuma left the Onimaru family, he was too scared to meet the boy. But then because of Shiranui, not only can he meet Kazuma again after several years he also can settle down things and even rebuild their relationship as siblings. Shiranui still doesn’t understand because he never felt he was helping Kazumi—and even he was trying to ‘kill’ Kazumi and get full control over the man’s body.

“You and also Shindou-kun. Because of you, I and Kazuma can be siblings again. If you didn’t meet Shindou-kun and if Shindou-kun didn’t convince Kazuma to fight alongside him in the under-20, we may never make up. And I'll always be haunted by my guilt for making Kazuma stop playing Vanguard. Even if you still don’t understand why I thank you for this, I’ll still gonna do that—and there’s no reason for me to hate you, no matter what you have done to me before.” Shiranui went silent, he indeed still doesn't understand but he doesn’t question anymore—Kazumi then stretches his body and says that he’s pretty thirsty.

“How about we grab some drinks?” Shiranui just looks at Kazumi and just nods—-and then they finally leave that place—looking for some place to buy drinks.

Meanwhile in the clothes shop. Verno and Amaruda are looking at the clothes that are being showcased in the front store. There are a lot of cute clothes that are designed for young women. Verno then takes one piece of clothing and then puts it pretty close to Amaruda—looks like she’s trying to imagine the woman before her with those clothes, a smile appears on Verno’s face before telling that this might be cute on Amaruda.

“Let’s try this.” Verno says and Amaruda just nods and they are walking to the changing room, and after several minutes, Amaruda shows how she looks with the outfit that Verno just picked for her. She looks at Amaruda with a big smile on her face, telling that it looks cute on Amaruda.

“Thank you. Then I also have one outfit for you to try.” Verno looks at Amaruda, confused. But then after changing back to her own clothes, Amaruda then walks to the place where the clothes that catch her eyes are and picks several of them—-then she asks Verno to try each of them again, the two walk toward the change room. Trying one and one outfit, everything looks good on Verno, but then the last outfit surprised her a bit because…

“Summer dress… I don’t really wear this often—but why do you think it will be good on me?” Amaruda smiles at her then she just says that it was her instinct, both of them then laugh and then decide to buy the clothes that they like the most. And Verno unexpectedly went with the last outfit. But before they left the store, Amaruda stopped at the accessories case and her eyes were staring at the black lily accessories, it looked like a brooch. Verno then stands beside Amaruda and asks whether the woman is interested in that brooch.

“I don’t know… but it reminds me of a friend…” Verno looks at Amaruda—her face remains flat but Verno somehow feels some hint of sadness on her face. To be honest she has some idea about the friend that Amaruda means.

Miguel… or… until the end, no one knows which unit diffrided him. But he was part of the team—he was one of their friends. Verno went silent for a while before telling Amaruda that she should buy that brooch.

“So we still remember that he was there with us.” Amaruda looks at Verno and then the brooch before nodding—after receiving the brooch, the two left the store.

“Take this you fucker!!!”

At the game center, Dumjid is playing a shooting game—so excitedly. While Saori just watches him playing in amaze and slightly scared because of the shoutes that sometimes can be heard from the dragon.

“Huh, that was super easy—I started to feel bored.” Dumjid says as he puts the gun controller back to its place, Saori walks closer to the dragon while telling him how cool the dragon was when he played the shooting game.

“What do you think I am? This kind of child play is too easy for me.” he said—Saori's eyes sparkled as he heard the answer from Dumjid—another praise like ‘you are so cool’ or ‘that’s awesome’ can be heard from the boy—leaving Dumjid with nothing to say.

But then he remembered something. Something that actually wasn't that important yet bugged him for a while. He closes his eyes—Amaruda, Shiranui, both of them are grade 3 cards—a vanguard unit, a unit that can be used in the fight, making them as the main fighter, they even have a greater version of them, a G-unit.

Even there’s a lot of strong cards on Saori’s deck that can be the better—cooler avatar unit than him.

“Tell me brat… why me?” Dumjid finally spoke—Saori just tilted his head and answered the question with another question, since he was confused with Dumjid’s sudden question.

“Why are you choosing me as something ‘avatar unit’ or whatever it is called. There's a lot of cooler and stronger units in your deck—I know it, I already tried it.”

Yet why me, I’m not even the main vanguard, I just a perfect guard—-a cheap sacrifice, is there any worth for making me something big like that?

“I suggest you choose a better unit, it’s for you—if you insist with me those people will laugh at you.” Saori looks at Dumjid—that now closes his eyes but then the boy says something that makes Dumjid look at him disbelieving what he heard.

“Say what, brat?” Asked Dumjid. Saori then—tries to get some confidence to speak—repeated his answer, that he doesn’t care about that. He doesn’t care if he chooses Dumjid, who is only a perfect guard unit instead of those cool grade 3 units as his ‘avatar unit’. He doesn’t care if people laugh at his choice or even make fun of it. He doesn’t care.

“I like you no matter what unit you are. Even when people underestimate you since you are only a perfect guard. A card that is only used for guarding—a sacrifice to shield the vanguard.” Saori gets his deck case and pulls out a card—which is Dumjid itself.

“I like you who always protects everyone. Even when no one understands it—even when no one praises you for your work… even when everyone belittles your job, saying that you are only a cheap sacrifice card—but I like you! I think you are so cool!” Dumjid’s eyes went wide when he heard the explanation for Saori—’ Is this brat for real?’ is what he thinks now—what he did is… cool? Most of the time he failed to protect what he should protect—most of the time he barely saved anyone.

Yet this brat before him saying that what he did is cool.

“I like you like that! So that’s why I have no regret choosing you as my ‘avatar’ . It doesn't have to be a stronger vanguard, it doesn’t have to be a cool unit. I choose you as my ‘avatar unit’ because I like you and want to be like you.” Saori smiles at Dumjid—for some reason, he speaks everything without being nervous or something like that. And Dumjid can’t lie to himself, seeing the brat before him speaking what is inside his mind this straight-forward is pretty cool. And without him realizing it, a small smile appears on his face.

“Hmph, what a weird brat. But okay, if that’s what you want—just do it.” Dumjid says—Saori just happily nods and then follows Dumjid—who walks looking for another game that he can play to ease his boredom.

“Ukhh—I can’t reach it.” a boy with orange hair says while he’s struggling getting a book which is on the pretty higher side of the shelf. But the boy needs that book, it’s for school.

“Need some help? I can help you. But at the price, you need to help me too” The boy looks at a voice that is approaching him from behind—what he sees is a flying plushie dragon—a little plushie dragon that weirdly feels familiar, but who…

“My lord! Where are you??” Another voice comes followed by someone that reminds that voice to be silent since they are now in something called ‘library’ but then gets shouted at by the first voice—the dragon asks again whether the boy needs his help—with the cost of helping him.

The boy—Asukawa Taiyou has no other choice but to accept that—the little dragon then takes the book that Taiyou wants and then Taiyou tells the little dragon to hide inside his bag. Not long after that—several units are approaching Taiyou. Taiyou looks at them but then realizes who they are.

It’s Gastille and Valeos. The apostles of Gyze—the unit also realize who’s they approaching now and Gastille almost screams but fortunately Valeos manages to shut him with his hand before they are getting kicked from the library.

“O’ vanguard of Gurguit—have you seen our master Gyze? If not mistaken, he should be coming to this place.” ask the man—while still holding Gastille’s mouth—so he can’t shout. Taiyou looks at the two—and then finally realizes the identity of the dragon that just helped him.

It’s Neon Gyze—the smaller form of the Dragon Deity of Destruction.

Slightly nervous—Taiyou shakes his head—and says that he doesn’t know about that. While thinking of the way out of this situation—Valeos looks straight at him but then closes his eyes and then thanks the boy for answering his question—he then drags Gastille and then leaves Taiyou with Gyze (inside Taiyou’s bag).

“Do they finally leave?” A voice comes from inside Taiyou’s bag—where Gyze is hiding. Taiyou who just realized who’s inside the bag feels so awkward—but then he told the little dragon that Gastille and Valeos just left. But Taiyou also adds that they need to leave the place—or else the other apostles will find them.

“But where should I go?” Taiyou asks himself—but then remembers that he already has a plan to do today—-which is helping the United Sanctuary Branch and teaching the kids there.

“So… Do you want to go with me or do we split up here?” ask Taiyou, Gyze’s head pops out from Taiyou’s bag—and then just tell that he will follow Taiyou for now, it will be trouble if those apostles find him. Taiyou then ask why Gyze runs away from them and the dragon just answers that he doesn’t like being treated like a doll—just because he only able to manifest in this form due to not having a physical form now—-he also explains that one of the Zeroth Dragon is planning to play with (using) him —she try to put weird clothes on him, like a doll, or plushie. Taiyou who hears the answers weirdly knows which Zeroth Dragon that Gyze is talking about (yes, it’s Meggido) and imagines her shouts to Gyze in cute outfit as a pet parent who loves to put weird clothes on to make their pet look cute.

“Ahahaha.” only laughs that comes from Taiyou before he finally decides to lend the book that Gyze takes for him and then leaves the library. With Gyze’s head popping out from Taiyou’s bag, they walk to the United Sanctuary Branch. It doesn’t take a lot of time and when they arrive—Taiyou immediately walks to the fighting room.

“Good afternoon Asaka-san!” Taiyou enters the room and greets a woman that is there first—teaching the kids the basic rules of Cardfight Vanguard or even observing the new players play with each other.

“Ara, you are finally—-wait, what’s in your bag?” Asaka looks at the little dragon’s head that can be seen from Taiyou’s bag—Taiyou closes his eyes—he seems troubled on how to explain who’s the dragon inside his bag to the woman before him without (possibly) causes trouble or at least surprised the woman.

“Asaka-san…. Actually he is…” Taiyou then explains who’s the dragon and how they meet—-Asaka who heard the answer is left dumbfounded. She then looks at Taiyou in disbelief.

“What… What do you mean by ‘he’s Gyze’?” Taiyou lets out a sigh and then says that he actually doesn’t want to believe that—but the little dragon himself isn’t denying that—-not to mention that Valeos says that Gyze is hiding in the library he went to, the dragon that hide inside his bag is indeed the dragon that Valeos mean then he’s really Gyze.

“There’s no stupid unit that calls himself Gyze—I have no reason for hiding my identity.” Asaka—unable to hide her shock told Taiyou and Gyze to follow her to Ren’s room, she needs to discuss it with him—because Gyze is definitely not something that you can just ignore.

Or maybe not…

Gyze explains that this is the only form he can get—he barely has the power to manifest into a bigger one—being plushie is the best he can do. It is also the reason why he approaches Taiyou because he’s running away from Gastille and also Meggido who wants to put a cute outfit on him.

“I might be small now but I’m still Gyze. The Dragon of Destruction, Gyze… there’s no way that I would wear that kind of outfit.” The Dragon closes his eyes—seems pissed off with his Zeroth Dragons. So that’s why he left the manor where they live.

“Are they supposed to be beings that want to destroy earth and cray—they look like a bunch of kids.” Asaka says—dumbfounded by the reason why Gyze is here. But then Ren asks why Gyze is able to manifest in the first place—he is already defeated after all.

He then answers that he doesn’t have the idea on why he is here. He also explains that according to Gastille, Zeroth Dragons are supposed to disappear as well—well, returning to Cray Elemental is the right term. But then Gyze also says that not only him and the Zeroth Dragons are the ‘dead’ that is manifested to this place. Leaving Taiyou and the others confused, he asks Gyze but then Gyze says to ask the said unit in person.

“One that I remember is Chronojet Dragon—he might actually know the reason behind this situation. Also… who’s that again? I forgot.” Taiyou is just stunned by the sudden information bomb that Gyze drops. Ren looks at the little dragon that seems not lying.

“Hmm…” and stares at Taiyou and Gyze, even when Gyze is just a little dragon—there’s someone that needs to look after him. In case he gets his power and possibly will bring another destruction to this planet. With a smile he then asks Taiyou to be Gyze’s (temporary) caretaker. He also says that Gyze wants to hide from the apostle right, so it will be better if there’s someone that can constantly hide him.

“Eh?” Taiyou looks at Ren—can’t believe that he got such a big mission, but then Gyze says that he agrees with Ren’s offer. After all Taiyou is a strong fighter—even if an apostle finds him, he can just beat them and then leave the place. Taiyou who realizes that he doesn’t have the option to decline the request finally lets out a sigh and then says that he will do that.

The story between Gyze and Taiyou has just started….

Notes:

Chapter Text

“Huh?!! What do you mean by ‘you can’t find Lord Gyze.’?!”

A voice echoes from a mansion in the middle of a forest—where almost no one notices since it’s being hidden. But now even the birds that are having their peaceful day on the trees around them have to leave the place because the voice shocked them.

“I asked you to do such a simple thing yet you failed to do that—what a useless being.” a woman in an idol outfit, half human-half…snake? That is now shouting at Gastille and Valeos who just come back from looking for Gyze—a plushie, ahem I mean, the Dragon Deity of Destruction, Gyze who because of losing most of his power is only able to manifest in form of a marketable plushie or Neon Gyze if we should call him with something that not disrespect him as a literal God.

“Huh?! Why are you shouting at me! When you are clearly responsible for Lord Gyze running away from us! You need to sometimes look at how tired we are—doing the consequence of what you're doing!” Gastille, who just came back, snaps at the snake—dragon idol? And then both of them are fighting like a child.

“Eii eii! Stop it at once! Fighting over this silly thing, don’t you guys have some shame??” A shout ends the cat fight between Megiddo and Gastille, a dragon walks and stands before them.

“Shut up Ultima! It’s none of your business!” the Dragon—who is called Ultima or <<Zeroth Dragon of Zenith Peak, Ultima>> just lets out a sigh and tells that what Gastille says is true and adds that as a Zeroth Dragon, she shouldn’t do that to Lord Gyze. It's very rude and disrespectful to the Almighty Dragon.

“Huh? I’m not doing something rude to Lord Gyze, stop saying nonsense! Also don’t you think that Lord Gyze looks so lovely in that outfit?!” <<Zeroth Dragon of Distant Sea, Megiddo>> or the idol zeroth dragon tries to defend herself but then Ultima says that clearly Lord Gyze doesn’t like that.

“But actually you also want to see Lord Gyze in those cute outfits right?” Megiddo says—Ultima looks slightly hesitant before then clears his throat, telling that even when he wants to, if Lord Gyze doesn’t want to, then it’s disrespectful to force him to do that.

“What’s the point of seeing the cute side of Lord Gyze if he hates that?” Megiddo turns to a dragon that is now sits on the floor with a tablet pad and a stylus pen—I wonder how those claws can hold such a little thing—but then most of dragons have their size shrunken up to 3.5 meter—most of them are have the same height as average american adult man or woman. And this dragon is the one that shrinks himself up to the size of a normal human, so that’s why his claws are able to grip something little like a stylus pen.

“Khh…” Megiddo—unable to talk back to the sudden voice just glares at the dragon—who also tells her that she really wants to see Lord Gyze in a cute outfit, instead of forcing him to do that, she can just commission the dragon to draw him. At least Lord Gyze won’t be mad and leave them again.

“Huh? You can draw—I can’t believe that! I believe that the only thing you can do is bring apocalypse! Megiddo says. The Dragon <<Zeroth Dragon of The End of The World, Dust>> just lets out a sigh and says that she wants some proof just come and see what he is doing now. She just puts on a smug face and then walks closer to Dust while still saying that she doesn't believe what she just hears.

“Hmph! Just talk big while you can, because there’s no way someone like you can draw, I mean looks at your claw, I don’t believe it can freely move the stylus—-what in the fucking fuck????!!”

Megiddo—feels like suddenly got struck by lightning—unable to hide her surprise and then says something that an Idol isn’t supposed to say. She then points at the work on Dust’s tablet pad—on the screen, it’s a drawing of a unit—that is still in the middle of coloring progress.

“Why is the quality so high?! Also why Chronojet Dragon?!” Megiddo asks—but then Dust—while keeping his face flat and emotionless, asks something that makes Megiddo speechless.

“Conversely, why not Chronojet Dragon?” The idol Zeroth Dragon just puts her palm on her face and then tells him that there’s nothing wrong with that. But then Dust speaks again—telling the idol that there’s still a bigger problem that Megiddo has to think first rather than what he draws now—which is how to bring Lord Gyze back.

“Ah, you are right! But what if Gyze-sama doesn’t want to come back to us?” Dust just looks at Megiddo and says that they can’t force Lord Gyze if he doesn’t want to go back to them.

“No way!” Megiddo says—then she looks at Dust with determined eyes—in which Dust replies with a confused stare. She then takes Dust tablet pad and then asks him to go looking for Lord Gyze with her.

“Why me?” Dust asks. Megiddo then says that she’s an idol—she needs someone to bodyguard her.

“Or you want a fragile girl like me to go alone in that dangerous city?” Dust mutters ‘a fragile girl huh…’ which makes Megiddo mad—because clearly the dragon in front of her is mocking her but then she just grins and then says something that makes Dust look at her and…

“Okay, I will go with you.”

“How cheap of you.”

But because it’s already too late, Megiddo decides to postpone her plan now and think on how to look for Gyze—or course, since Dust already agrees to go with her, he will also go to the city tomorrow. She then go to her room—she claims that idol needs to sleep earlier in order to maintain

They are now in the city—once again trying to look at Lord Gyze—according to Valeos, the last time they saw Lord Gyze, he entered a place called the library. She knows it because she is literally a school idol.

But think logically—it’s been a while since Valeos saw that and still missed the Dragon Deity of Destruction, so most likely he isn’t there anymore. Which means basically they have no clue about Gyze’s whereabouts and need to ask people whether they see a little flying dragon plushie.

They went to a place where there can be a lot of people to be asked for information, a park.

Today is Saturday—a lot of people come here to enjoy their weekend day with their family—best timing for gathering information.

“But where should we start…?” Dust looks at those people—to be honest, talking to other people is not his ability—or should we say that he’s pretty shy. Then Megiddo says that she never expects Dust to ask around and leave the information gathering to her alone.

“Then why do you ask me to follow you?” With a proud smile—Megiddo tells Dust that he is just for being her bodyguard—-since she will be top idol sometime—not so far in future.

“It would be troublesome if everyone’s got charmed with my beauty and then surrounds me—then we won’t be able to—-hey! Hear me you stupid dragon!!” Megiddo says—after realizing that Dust is already several meters away from her. He claims that he doesn’t have the time to hear Megiddos’s nonsenses which makes her angrier than before.

“Just wait here you stupid dragon! You’ll regret that once I become a top idol!” and finally Megiddo moves towards Dust who is lazily waiting for her and then starts asking people there about the dragon plushie—err, Dragon Deity of Destruction.

Meanwhile, in Card Capital 2nd Shop.

“Err… Taiyou… can you repeat that once again?”

Taiyou just looks at Chrono who can’t hide his surprises—beside Taiyou, there’s Gyze—Neon Gyze plushie, floating in the air like there’s nothing wrong. Kazuma on the other hand—lost his words over what happened now.

Taiyou and Gyze that looks like a boy with his floating toy… but the said toy is actually a deity—a deity of destruction and also something that was about to take over his body and almost destroy this planet.

“Are… are you sure that he’s safe?” Kazuma finally opens his mouth, Taiyou—still actually confused, says that there’s nothing wrong with Gyze yesterday. Taiyou also adds that Gyze acted perfectly like a plushie and only spoke whenever there were only the two there.

“Like I said—I don’t have the power to do something dangerous. Even turning to this form is like a miracle.” Kazuma and Chrono just looks at the dragon plushie, still can’t believe what they see—but then Chrono just lets out a sigh—the fact that he spent a night with Taiyou and didn’t actually caused harm to his favorite kouhai, I think it’s fine to Chrono to believe what Gyze stated just now.

“But why Taiyou?” Chrono asks. Gyze closes (?) his beady eyes and then says that that was completely a coincidence.

“I was running away from Gastille and Valeos—that wants me to go back home and become Megiddo’s dress up plushie again and the person that helped me to hide from them is this human.” Explains Gyze. taiyou then adds that since Gyze has to hide himself from the other Zeroth Dragons that might be looking for him then he decides to follow Taiyou to the United Sanctuary Branch.

“And then, Suzugamori Chief Branch found out about Gyze and until the problem between him and Megiddo is over—or until Gyze wants to go back to his own place, someone needs to monitor him. Even without his power, he is still the Dragon Deity of Destruction.”

Kazuma looks at him and then tells the dragon to just say to Megiddo if he doesn’t like the dress up thing. Gyze looks at the boy and says that if she can be told that simple, he won’t run away from home. The fact that she has more power and can’t be stopped is the reason why Gyze is here. Gyze was basically using a very small chance to run away from Megiddo because she doesn’t want to hear him.

“...I see, It’s weird but I suddenly feel bad for you.” Kazuma says and then the sound of the automatic door can be heard and from there footsteps can be heard.

“You are here just as I expected, My Lord Gyze… Megiddo and Dust are looking for—well it’s only Megiddo, Dust was there only to accompany her.” Everyone is surprised by the figure that comes inside the shop. And knowing who’s that—Gyze immediately hides behind Taiyou.

“Zoa…”

The dragon unit, <<Zeroth Dragon of Death Garden, Zoa>> closes their eyes and says that they are here just to answer his curiosity about Gyze’s whereabouts—and not helping Megiddo and Dust.

“I don’t have the obligation to help that Idol Dragon. Even Dust is helping her because Megiddo bribed him with something that I don’t know but I bet he really wanted that thing, he’s been a simp for your Time Dragon apparently.” Chrono looks at Zoa in the face that says ‘what the fuck do you mean by that.’ and Zoa who understands the face just says that they said what they said.

But then Gyze—who is still hiding behind Taiyou’s back still doubts the dragon before them, Zoa closes their eyes, they understand why Gyze is doubting them. There’s no 100% guarantee that what they just say (they put the fact that Dust is a Chronojet Simp as an exception—stating that it’s a total fact) but then they explains that there’s no merit for them to help Megiddo.

“It’s not like she asks me to help her—then there’s no reason for me to do that. We Zeroth Dragons are not as friendly as you guys think.” Zoa then walks to the bench—walking past Taiyou, Gyze, Kazuma and Chrono and then sits on the bench.

“So worry not—I’m not gonna spill your place to them, My Lord Gyze… but there’s something that… maybe I’ll say—as an advice, I’ll make sure to make it as a debt for Megiddo, as she isn’t asking for my help. I think Megiddo never has ill intent in making you a dress-up plushie. In my opinion—it is just her instinct as a girl that loves cute things. Even when she’s a Zeroth Dragon, at the end of day—she’s just a Bermuda Triangle idol—a high schooler. So, after knowing that you don't like it–-she already promised us not to do that again. And so, I suggest you have another talk with Megiddo… about whether you want to go back to our mansion or just live with this human child, I think Megiddo will have to accept whatever answer that you will give…”

Gyze looks at Zoa and then Taiyou. What the Zeroth Dragon says makes sense. He has nothing against it—especially if Megiddo really already learned the lesson and promised that she won’t treat him as a dress-up plushie anymore.

“Okay, I’ll consider your advice.” Gyze says—Zoa states their happiness since Gyze considers their advice. They then look at Chrono and then call the boy—asking if the boy can be their opponent on Vanguard—which is pretty popular among the Zeroth Dragon.

“Uhh…”

Few hours have passed—but weirdly there’s no information about Gyze that Megiddo and Dust get. And now they are sitting on a bench (don’t ask me how Megiddo sits—don’t think too much about it.)

“As expected for Lord Gyze, he’s too clever and hard to find.” Megiddo says as she looks at the sky—wondering where Gyze is now. Dust doesn’t say anything—the heat of summer, making him tired faster than usual.

“If only someone has any information—-”

“Umm…”

Megiddo looks at a—little unit that is now standing beside her—judging from her appearance—they look like an angel, no—Megiddo is not flirting or something like that, what she means is the race, the unit before them is legit an angel.

“Is there something you need from us? But you need to know that we have no time to help someone like you—like can’t you see? We are also busy right here.” Megiddo says—Dust just sarcastically says that what Megiddo just says is very not idol-like, but then she just answers it with a ‘hmph’.

The little angel seems hesitant at first but then after several seconds—they finally get the courage to speak to Megiddo—they ask Megiddo and Dust whether the dragon plushie that they are looking for looks like a baby dragon—and the color is silver, more like metal.

“Eh?”

Megiddo just looks at the angel—surprised by their question—but then she gets up and holds the angel’s hand—which surprised them—she then asks if the angel sees the dragon plushie they talked about.

“Little angel, speak your name.” Megiddo says. But then after Dust says that normally she’s the one that is supposed to say her name first and also on how she is troubled the poor little angel. Megiddo then moves back and clears her throat and then apologizes for startling the angel.

“I’m Megiddo and the silent dragon behind me is Dust—same with you we are units from Cray.” Dust didn’t say anything—and closed his eyes as Megiddo introduced him to the young unit. The unit looks at them—those names sound weirdly familiar but not in a good way, but then they don't feel anything dangerous with Megiddo and Dust (and that’s the reason why they approach them and decide to help them in the first place).

“Miss Megiddo and Mister Dust, nice to meet you. I’m Rezael—an Apprentice Knight.”

Megiddo nods after hearing the angel saying their name—she then brings back the initial topic and asks Rezael if they see the dragon that Megiddo is looking for.

“Actually…”

“Let’s go find Megiddo and Dust.”

Taiyou and then Chrono and Kazuma look at each other. But, before they move—Zoa tells them that they don’t need to do that. Since they have no idea about Megiddo’s whereabouts now it might just make things more complicated.

“Let's just wait for them to actually reach this place. It would be troublesome if we were looking for each other just to cross paths like a cliche drama scene.” Dumbfounded by the comparison but then they decide to wait just like Zoa says.

“Also, isn’t this the perfect time to think about things for later? Like what do you want… so this case won’t happen again in the future.” Gyze looks at Kazuma—he’s right, what he can do while waiting for Megiddo and Dust is to think about what he wants to say to Megiddo. About what she can and what she can’t do.

Closing his eyes. It’s not like he doesn’t want to please Megiddo—he knows that Megiddo doesn’t have ill intentions or what. Gyze knows that Megiddo is just too excited with this form of him. But even so…

So that’s why… as the leader of everyone… as the God that they worship/? He needs to straighten this up. Also he can’t run more than this and troubled this human kid more.

“I…”

“So… you see the Dragon—our Lord with someone that is most likely to be your classmate, Asukawa Taiyou?”

Meanwhile Megiddo, Dust and Rezael are still on their way looking for Gyze. They have the information about who’s with Gyze now but the problem is they don’t know where Taiyou is.

Wait, speaking of Asukawa Taiyou…

Megiddo stops walking due to sudden revelation—making Dust and Rezael also stop walking. Dust asking if Megiddo is hungry or has a stomach ache. Megiddo immediately denies that and then with anger on her face—she finally says something that suddenly comes to her mind.

“Isn’t Valeos saying that Asukawa Taiyou didn’t see Lord Gyze? Don’t tell me that he lied to us!” Dust closes his eyes—he doesn’t believe that Valeos is lying to them and adds that Gastille is also with them. There’s no way that Gastille would lie to the Zeroth Dragon.

Meanwhile Rezael who hear the terms that is known for something bad—stunned and just see both having a small argument but then shakes their head, they already decide to help Megiddo and Dust—also they don’t seems threatening like when they are in Planet Cray—they just seem like two friends looking for another friend that got... Lost? Rezael don’t know what happened but this is the boat that they ride on now, they can’t just leave because they remember the reason why Megiddo and Dust sounds so familiar (again in bad way)

“Maybe Asukawa Taiyou is the one that lied to Gastille and Valeos. Rezael—did you say that the dragon plushie—ahem, our Lord Gyze after the talk went into that human’s bag?” Dust asks—-Rezael just nods but then says that they are not certain since they only saw a glimpse of it when they had a morning jog.

“I see…” Dust went silent for several minutes—before then realized something—something that he never thought of before. Megiddo looked at Dust confused, but Dust ignored her and then asked Rezael if they had contact for Asukawa Taiyou. If Dust is not mistaken—most of the units already have this thing called smartphone and it can be used as a communication tool—as long as you have the contact of the person that you wanted to call.

“Ah…”

Time moves fast and we are back to Card Capital 2nd Shop. Chrono, Taiyou, Gyze and Zoa who are waiting for Dust and Megiddo but none of them appear. But then suddenly Taiyou’s smartphone rings—everyone looks at the boy who apologizes and then takes the call. His eyes widened upon seeing who’s calling him. But then a smile appears and he finally speaks to the person on the other side of the phone.

“It’s Asukawa Taiyou speaking… eh? Ah um… you are right, wait why do you know… ah I see… now I’m at…” the call ends shortly and then Taiyou walks back to where everyone else is.

“I have good news. Looks like my friend Rezael is currently with Megiddo-san and Dust-san and on their way to this place.” Zoa says that they work kinda slow—but guess it's just fair if they have almost no one that knows about Gyze outside of those people who fought against them before.

It doesn’t take long until Rezael and others arrive at Card Capital 2nd Branch—thanks to Dust who knows how to use go*gle map and search the location.

Megiddo is now standing several meters before Gyze—the little dragon just floats—ready to face the idol before him but then—unprepared by what happens right after that, the dragon finds himself in the girl’s embrace.

“My Lord Gyze! I’m truly… truly sorry!!” The dragon becomes speechless—it’s like all the words that he already prepared inside his mind that he wanted to say to Megiddo disappear—-she keeps saying that she’s sorry and she won’t do that again.

“Megiddo… you need to calm down or else you kill Our Lord…” The girl finally let off the hug and gave the poor dragon some space to breathe—and apologizing once more. The dragon says that she doesn’t have to apologize to him. He then also finally says that it’s a childish move for him to just run away and hide from the Zeroth Dragons. It’s not almighty at all.

“Even when I know that you have no ill intention doing that—yet my pride eats me. This sounds weird but I also want to say sorry—but that doesn't mean that I’ll allow such a thing to happen again in future. I hope you learn that I’m not an actual plushie that you can use as a dress-up doll.” Megiddo went silent hearing Gyze’s words and then smiles and nods—saying that she won’t do such a thing anymore.

“Well—I suggested to Megiddo to spend her obsession on seeing your lovely cute form in other things so you can rest assured, my lord.” Dust added—Gyze finally understands the other reason why Megiddo finally promised to stop treating him as a dress-up doll. But well, it’s not like that’s something bad—Megiddo can still continue her hobby to put imagining cute things with this little form of Gyze but not doing something that he thinks is rude.

“So… is everything okay now?” ask Rezael—Megiddo just nods and thanks the angel for helping them, the angel just smiles and tells her that they are glad to be a help. After several minutes of talking, the angel realizes that they need to leave for training and then bid goodbye to everyone there.

“Let’s go home, Lord Gyze! I will order some of your favorite food!” Megiddo says—before they leave, Gyze thanks Taiyou for letting him stay with him even if it’s only for one night.

“You’re welcome—but don’t run away again next time okay—it’s pretty weird to be with someone that was your enemy.” The little dragon nods and then the three of the units leave the Card Capital 2nd Shop—at the same time Nitta Shin just back from getting things from the main shop.

“The problem is finally over—let's go back to work!” Chrono says and then Kazuma and Taiyou have some matches while waiting for Chrono’s shift to be done.

Notes:

A whole chapter dedicated to Gyze and some of Zeroth Dragon. (I can't put them all at once or else it will so hella long) but of course I'll planning on putting the other Zeroth Dragon as well or even Chaos Breaker Dragon and maybe also Luard's dead brother--ahem.

sometimes I'll make this whole story chapter but not always---this story chapter is always gonna be depends on my mood so look forward for what happened next!

also there's little Rezael as a guest! I have a HC that Rezael is already living before the godless era--or even when it's not the case, just don't think too much of it. in this story he's in same age as Taiyou (earth-time) and is a classmate. he will show up again in further chapter.

Lastly, I hope your enjoy this fanfic I make for fun, thank you and see you next time.
