Carefully, he leaned his head on Wyll’s bare shoulder, feeling the warmth of the other man’s skin with his temple. When Wyll wrapped an arm around him, pressing him more firmly to his body, Tav let out a shaky breath. It was embarrassing how much he cherished these touches, these brief moments of respite in the face of one disaster piled on another.
“I’m not scared of dying, you know. I don’t know when that switch flipped within me, but it did.” Tav said, and felt Wyll tense ever so slightly. “What I’m really worried about is what happens if we survive… this.”
