are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me?

Summary:

au version of season four of the vampire diaries that follows the first part. A sequel.

Notes:

I use some of the official online timeline for the universe to sort of plot along, but it isn't exact and I take liberties with it. I follow with some of it. I mostly just go with episodes. I know that the fourth season ends in June so that's my finish line for the universe history in this part.

are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me?

part one: growing pains

elena’s pov

It was hard at first, being a vampire. The first couple of days was complicated and took effort. Elijah told me what it would be like for me. I had been turned directly by Original blood so that I meant that I would be stronger and faster then most vampires. He taught me how to compel and listen for the heartbeat. He recommended that I drink from blood bags so that I could remain strong. He would teach me how to feed as well since I couldn’t always get blood bags to feed on. He was teaching me everything he could so that I could be a vampire. The first blood I had was my brother’s. I knew that he didn’t like that I was a vampire, but he seemed to be glad that I was still here because of him.

There was this hunger inside me. This craving for blood. It was constant, but he said that there would reach a point when I would be able to shove it down. I had remained home for the past two days while Elijah took care of the people in the hospital. He compelled those he could and took care of the others through other means. He made sure our tracks were covered and he even protected Meredith. I had to remain out of sight while I got through the first two days. I felt odd at first, but I was getting the hang of it. I did have an issue with some things, but I would figure it out with time. I was determined that I would get through this with some time and figure out who I was as a vampire.

I would be going out soon. As soon as I had a daylight ring, I would be able to leave the house which was officially in Jeremy’s name so that very few vampires would come in. Caroline and Elijah had been invited into the house. I stood in front of the mirror in my room. I was in black lace underwear and bra. My hair was still wet from the shower. I had tried so many outfits, but they had all felt wrong. The curtains were drawn so that there would be no light. Elijah had left the house to get something. He wouldn’t tell me because he wanted it to be a surprise. He would be back soon. I wanted to be dressed before he came back, but I wasn’t. He walked into the room while I stood there.

“What’s wrong?” Elijah asked.

“I have nothing to wear” I said.

“I see” he said.

“I mean, it all feels—” I said.

“Odd on your skin” he said. I looked at him.

“Yes” I said.

“It’s like that for most vampires. We grow sensitive when we turn” he said.

“Right” I said.

“We start hating certain fabrics” he said.

“Is that what happened to you?” I asked.

“Yes” he said.

“Is that why you were suits that cost more than my car?” I asked. He chuckled.

“It’s part of it, yes” he said.

“It all feels wrong” I said.

“All your clothes?” he asked.

“Yes” I said.

“Alright” he said.

“Although, I haven’t tried on my dresses yet” I said.

“But you don’t have clothes” he said.

“No” I said.

“I like this” he said.

“Shush” I said, shoving him a little.

“I came just in time then” he said.

“You brought a gift” I said.

“A couple” he said.

“For me?” I asked. I stepped closer.

“Yes” he said. I noticed that he had a couple of boxes.

“Show me” I said.

“Here” he said. He gave me a box.

“Clothes?” I asked.

“Just a couple of things for now” he said.

“Alright” I aid. I took the box and put it on the bed. I opened it and pulled out an ensemble of clothing. There were good jeans, a black silk tank top, and the most beautiful stilettos I had seen.

“Oh” I said.

“You like it?” he asked.

“This must have been—” I said.

“Don't worry about it, Lovely” he said. He kissed my shoulder.

“I’ll change” I said.

“Yes” he said. I went to go get dressed. The clothes felt good. I blow dried my hair and put on jewelry. I stepped out.

“Feels good” I said.

“There’s one thing missing” he said.

“What?” I asked.

“Your daylight ring” he said.

“You got me one?” I asked. He opened the wooden box and there were several rings in the box with lapis lazuli. They were beautiful.

“I got you options” he said.

“Where?” I asked.

“I had them” he said.

“Oh” I said.

“Pick the one you want and I’ll have it enchanted” he said.

“Really?” I asked.

“Go on” he said. I looked at them and thought about it. I thought about his. All the Mikaelson rings were the same. Gold with a small piece. I landed on one.

“This one” I said. I pulled out a thin gold ring band with medium sized stone set on it.

“Perfect” he said.

“Bonnie?” I asked.

“If you would like” he said.

“I would” I said.

“Alright” he said.

“Yes” I said.

“How do you feel?” he asked.

“I feel good” I said.

“Anything different?” he asked.

“Everything. I feel like everything is new for me and I was just…” I said.

“Reborn” he said.

“Yes” I said.

“I felt that way too. I felt like every inch of me was different. I felt like I would never be the same and I was right” he said.

“Yes” I said.

“Anything resurfacing?” he asked.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“When I first turned, I had a new perspective on old memories. I saw things that were always there, but I hadn’t noticed” he said.

“There are things” I said.

“Like?” he asked.

“The way I treated Matt. I was so bad to him. I didn’t realize how wrong I went about it. I didn’t know” I said.

“Not your fault” he said.

“The person I was before wasn’t good” I said. I looked at him.

“And there is you” I said.

“Me?” he asked.

“You cared about me. For a long time” I said.

“I did” he said.

“I didn’t see it” I said.

“Part of me didn’t want you to see it” he said.

“Why not?” I asked.

“It was safer to love you from afar” he said.

“And that night?” I asked.

“I took a risk” he said.

“Oh” I said.

“Anything else?” he asked.

“I was compelled” I said.

“When?” he asked.

“The night my parents died” I said.

“What?” he asked. I had seen the scene in my head. I had seen it as I watched the older version of me on that road.

“I thought I knew the story” I said.

“Tell me” he said.

“Stefan pulled me out of the car” I said.

“Yes” he said.

“But I met Damon first” I said.

“Oh” he said.

“He thought I was Katherine. He compelled me to forget” I said.

“I see” he said.

“My feelings for him were manufactured” I said.

“You sure?” he asked.

“He compelled into me a twisted version of love” I said.

“I’m sorry” he said.

“I’m better this way” I said.

“I believe you” he said.

“And I want us” I said.

“Good” he said.

“What’s going on out there?” I asked.

“I don’t know” he said.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Klaus is dead” he said.

“I know” I said.

“So is Tyler” he said.

“Yes” I said.

“But there’s something wrong” he said.

“Is there?” I asked.

“His line turned Caroline and the Salvatores” he said. And so many others. Yet, none of them were dead. It was odd.

“But they’re alive” I said.

“Yes” he said.

“Are you sure?” I asked.

“Absolutely” he said.

“And the rest?” I asked.

“The council are hunting down the supernatural” he said.

“Because of Alaric” I said.

“Be careful out there” he said.

“You too” I said.

“They can’t kill me” he said.

“They might try” I said.

“I’ll handle it” he said. He closed the box and put it to the side. He cupped my face and kissed me. I felt more.

“Yes” I said.

“You can be killed” he said.

“I know” I said.

“Would you like me to call Bonnie?” he asked.

“Please” I said.

“She’s been hounding me” he said.

“She has?” I asked.

“She’s worried for you” he said.

“Sorry” I said.

“I like that she worries for you” he said.

“Even if she hounds you?” I asked.

“That I like a little less” he said.

“Fifteen calls” I said.

“How did you know?” he asked.

“It’s her limit” I said.

“Wow” he said.

“Call her” I said.

“Alright” he said. Soon Bonnie was in the house. We were in the kitchen when she rushed over to me. The blinds were drawn.

“You’re alive” Bonnie said, hugging me.

“Oh” I said.

“I was so scared” she said.

“I’m fine” I said.

“We didn’t know that” she said.

“But—” I said.

“You took a long time to wake up” she said. I frowned.

“I did?” I asked.

“Hours” he said.

“That isn’t normal?” I asked.

“No. A person in transition doesn’t usually take more than an hour. You took several to wake up and even I thought you were dead” he said.

“We were worried” she said.

“I’m fine” I said.

“Alright” she said.

“I need a daylight ring” I said.

“I heard. I can spell yours” she said.

“Thanks” I said.

“Yeah” she said. She spelled my ring and I slipped it on. It fit perfectly on my right hand ring finger. It was nice.

“Cool” I said.

“All good?” she asked.

“Definitely” I said.

“Good” she said.

“Keep your head down” I said.

“You too” she said.

“Yeah” I said.

“Can’t lose you” she said. The day was supposed to be good.

“So you decided to turn” Rebekah said. We had been captured by the council. I had gone out for some air and they got me. I was in a cage.

“I thought that Elijah would have told you” I said.

“Elijah doesn’t talk to me” she said.

“I didn’t tell him not to” I said.

“And yet” she said.

“He’s angry with you” I said.

“He hasn’t been this angry with me since I killed the witch he was seeing in 1735” she said.

“Then maybe you should stop killing his girlfriends” I said.

“Perhaps” she said.

“He must have calmed down eventually” I said.

“This is different” she said.

“Right” I said.

“You’re different” she said.

“I see” I said.

“I don’t think they know you’ve turned yet” she said.

“They will” I said.

“Yes” she said.

“Right” I said.

“You still want to be a writer? I remember how you’d read your short stories to my daughter when you’d babysit. She still loves writing because of you” Paster Young said. He was in the barn. They brought me to another location. I looked at him.

“Why did you bring me here?” I asked.

“My deputies can watch out for us here. No vampires have been invited in. Look, Elena, I know it sounds crazy, but years ago it was your parents who were advocating having an emergency plan like this. I never thought we’d actually have to use it” he said.

“Sure” I said.

“I’m protecting you” he said. He didn’t know what I was.

“From who?” I asked.

“Them. The Mikaelsons” he said.

“He would never hurt me. You have no idea what you’re talking about” I said.

“Well, I know that wherever you go, Salvatore vampires seem to follow. You hungry?” he asked, pulling a tray out.

“No” I said.

“So, we’ll hold Stefan until Damon comes searching for you two. We’ll use Rebekah to lure her siblings back into town. You’ll give us the white oak stake and then we will exterminate the entire vampire race for good” he said.

“Is something wrong? Elena, are you okay?” he asked.

“Yeah” I said. All of the sounds around me intensified.

“Elena?” he asked. Then there was wind blowing.

“You didn’t even know what you were dealing with” I said. I felt this thing that I shouldn’t be feeling. He got up and I blinked. I let the magic out and the cages burst opened.

“Elena” Elijah said. He sped in.

“I did this” I said.

“Impossible” he said.

“Yes” I said.

“Let’s go now” he said. He looked at both me and Rebekah. There were bullet holes in his suit.

“Monsters” Young said.

“Says the killer” I said. Rebekah and I ran to Elijah. We left the area and we didn’t stop until we got to the Mikaelson House.

“Fuck” I said. Elijah handed me a glass of blood.

“Agreed” Elijah said.

“Thanks” I said. I drank blood and I felt myself get stronger.

“You kept your magic” he said.

“How?” I asked.

“Perhaps it is because of how you come by your magic” he said.

“I never had a traditional connection so it couldn’t be cut” I said.

“Yes” he said.

“Or…” I said.

“What?” he asked.

“I was turned by Original blood” I said.

“That could be a factor” he said. I put the glass to the side. We were in his room.

“I feel so much” I said.

“Natural” he said.

“I didn’t know I was capable of feeling so much. Fear, anger, happiness, love” I said. It was all enhanced to an incredible degree.

“All of it is bursting” he said.

“How do you handle it?” I asked.

“I don’t know if I do” he said.

“What I feel for you is all encompassing now and I can’t think about anything else” I said, getting up. I grasped the lapels.

“Anything specific?” he asked.

“Perhaps” I said. I launched myself at him and we kissed deeply. We couldn’t stop touching each other. We tore at each other’s clothes and sped around. He pressed me against a wall and kissed at my neck. I panted for air I didn’t need. I pushed him onto the bed and straddled him. He pulled me to him. I let my veins appear.

“Beautiful” he said. He flipped me over and fucked me. I felt him inside me. I clutched onto him and drew blood. We didn’t stop.
