The Trial of Riya Sharma

Summary:

Riya glanced at her palms, shaking and fighting back tears as she took another step. Looking down over the edge, the brown haired woman let out a sigh, shakily taking a journal from under her arm and placing it on the floor beside her. She couldn’t go on. Not like this. Never like this.

Work Text:

Dear

“Ally” Allyson Amber.

You’re a sweet girl, it pains me to see the way you look looked up to me. You are smart, intelligent, passionate and conniving (that’s a compliment). I know that we may have not been the closest but I truly didn’t exactly care for you before and I would like to let you know that I may have changed my mind about you.

Yours truly,

Riya Sharma.

Riya looked towards the ground, slowly reaching behind her head as she carefully undid her Pearl necklace, drops of sweat making it harder for her fingers to take off her necklace with ease.

Dear

Alec Çelik,

You were a great ally, a great friend even. I am deeply sorry for the way I had deceived you, but I had no other choice. Did you want me to loose? Alec, I shall always hold you in high regard, the relief I felt when I met you will never be matched, the feeling of meeting a person with an attitude of your own shall always bring me a feeling I may never feel again.

Yours truly,

Riya Sharma.

The brown haired woman took a deep breath before gently taking off her pearl bracelet, crafted with love from one of her favourite designers. She wondered if in years to come she might be remembered, hopefully she would keep her title as the “villainess of television.”

Dear

Aiden Brooks,

I’d love to apologise but in all truthfulness, I am not sorry for what happened last year, yes I regret the way I played in season two but I cannot feign being apologetic for something I have no remorse for. You’re a nice boy who will have a good future ahead of him, but I could never have brung myself to like you.

Riya Sharma.

Riya had many regrets, but the act of pushing her fellow competitor off of a cliff was not one of them. In her opinion the outcome wouldn’t have changed no matter what she did, so there was no reason to be apologetic for something she had no control over. Reaching behind her head as she started to expertly undo her hair.

Dear

 Yul Kim.

Yul, you are a sad, sad little man and given that I would’ve had the opportunity to confront you one last time, you wouldn’t have come out of there unharmed. Alas, I can’t help but be inspired by your lack of care, how do you have no worries about the consequences of your actions, or atleast what others may think? I do not even want to spend too much time writing that as it is giving you the time of day so I will end it here.

Riya Sharma.

The brown haired woman felt a sense of relief wash over her as her hair fell to her shoulders, it was as if a weight had been lifted from her, as if she was letting the side of her that was kept in the limelight for so long slowly fade away. Riya didn’t hate fame, she hated what it had turned her into though.

Dear

Connor Blake,

Oh Connor, oh how sorry I am, I don’t think these pathetic shapes of ink will ever be able to voice my guilt. I never meant for it to get this bad, you were right. You were right all along and I was stupid to push you away. I should’ve held you close, held you  dear, but all I did was cast you away into the shadows. I don’t expect your forgiveness but maybe this will bring you some closure.

Love,

Riya Sharma.

Riya glanced down at her feet, the red stilettos were practically screaming at how “weak” she was acting. Yet she was the absolute opposite, all the shoes did was tie her down to her lowly past and they couldn’t come with her. Smoothly stepping out of her shoes, inhaling another long breath as she took another step, the feeling of her bare feet against the concrete making her internally cringe.

Dear

Gretchen Clark

You’ve  made me complete, Grett. Everything about you, you are everything I I’ve ever needed. You’re the most breathtaking person I’ve ever met, I’m sorry it had to end like this.

Love,

Riya Sharma

Riya took one final glance at the busy street below her, heart beating rapidly as she made her last decision. At least she’d always be remembered as a woman who made an impact, whether that was good, or not. Taking a final step before everything darkened.
