Chapter Text
The room was dim, sparkling lanterns and string light moons embellishing the ballroom’s high ceilings. Gold accents and banners hung above the crowd of people chatting and swaying softly to the orchestra in gowns and suits, unlike anything he’d ever seen.
Breathtaking, was all Patton could think, what was the likeliness he’d end up here under such coincidences?
Heading into the crowd, eyes wandered across his form. Maybe the small golden constellations embellishing the seams of his suit jacket were too much, maybe he shouldn’t have taken the adventure on such a last-minute whim, after all, he knew nothing of party culture in such a formal setting. Adjusting his glasses and feeling grateful for the temporary covering of his blushing face, he headed to the bar in the corner of the room, sitting down to look out over the crowd.
