The team dispersed to do their jobs. That's when Eddie spotted the familiar silver sedan and its unique bumper sticker that read "Let me be perfectly queer." His feet halted, and suddenly it was six years ago, and he was standing over his wife's broken body on the same curb that Josh's car had been pushed into.
"Josh?" His voice cracked as his breathing quickened. He tried to make his feet move, but they were cemented in place. No, no, this wasn't happening. This was a nightmare, just a bad dream. He'd wake up and he'd be lying beside his boyfriend, who was safe and sound, not in a car that had been t-boned and pushed off the road.
