Summary
In near future America, after the government discovers a human trafficking ring that considers itself a kinky secret society, the Lead Deviser offers four of the society's key members a unique bargain: spend a few months in Contrivance Headquarters doing some platonic experiential power dynamic education with her, in exchange for all related charges and threats being dropped, or face Contrivance—the Devisers' annual, televised death game—along with many of their friends.
