Chapter Text

It took him a moment to process what just happened.

There, on the ground was his favorite soup ladle, broken. Looking up at the Lynel Link was fighting he felt something break, how dare that beast break his ladle, even if he was using it as a weapon.

See, Link decided a few days ago to take a little 'trip' out into Hyrule, and maybe collect some Lynel parts, he was running low as of late and wanted to get more. Unfortunately though he forgot to make sure he had enough weapons to win a fight against the beast, and with the Master Sword currently recharging he had to resort to the only other item he had on hand to defend himself.

Very conveniently though he heard a small "ding" from his slate, indicating that the Master Sword, the very item he was waiting for, had been recharged fully and ready for use once more. That Lynel had no idea what to expect as the hylian before him suddenly turned into a very angry, and very feral wild child as Link ran at the beast, ready to hack it into pieces for breaking his favorite ladle.

It only took a few more minutes until Link had satisfied his anger fully, having already killed the beast he started to start harvesting what parts he could still salvage before the beast disappeared into a cloud of purple smoke, likely to return to wherever it came from and left to wait for the next Blood Moon.

Having collected the Crusher that the Lynel was using, cut off its horns and hoofs, he quickly set to work removing its guts, sensing that the beast's body wouldn't stay much longer. Satisfied with his haul, Link put the Master Sword back into the slate and decided to make what Zelda would call a 'smart decision' and head to the closest stable to "replace" his ladle with one of theirs, the stable staff won't mind anyways so long as he cooked them dinner.

Grabbing his slate he looked on the map, and decided he would stop at Tabantha Stable, it has been a while since he last saw Dabi and the rest of the staff at the stable, so with his mind made up Link pulled up the hood of his cloak and selected Shae Loya Shrine, immediately ascending in ribbons of blue.

Within only a few minutes of the boy stepping out of the shrine, he was surprised to see Beetle seemingly waiting for him. "Link!" The merchant whisper-shouted, waving him over towards the side of the shrine facing away from the stable. "Listen friend, something weird has happened at the stable, a group of men and boys, about 8 in total, walked up and started asking Dabi some strange questions."

That was definitely interesting, despite Hyrule being much safer now few people still travel the road, preferring to stay in the towns they know to be safe, or as safe as it could be, and it was even more unusual for his people to travel in groups, he knew a few that travels in pair, the truffle sisters were first to come to mind, but there was never a group larger than 3 that would travel together.

'What did they ask?' Link signed to Beetle, if it was the Yiga that came to the stable then they would need to be handled quickly before they harmed any patrons or staff, and it definitely wouldn't do any good if the Yiga's got a clue on where Zelda is currently staying. Link insisted on keeping her moving between Kakariko and Hatano for the time being well she works on building relations with the other civilizations as a precaution, the Yiga have been relentless since the Calamity's defeat just 4 months ago and Link has been targeted more times then he would appreciate the last few months, at least until 3 weeks ago.

It was almost as if the Yiga got bored of trying to hunt him and Zelda to extinction, and there has been nothing to report the entire 3 weeks, Link was just starting to enjoy the peace of not being a walking target but clearly that was coming to an end quickly.

"That's the thing kid, they had no idea about the Calamity, yet insisted on meeting the one who defeated it, Dabi and Banji gave them the Yiga Test a few times, but most were seemingly more confused about the bananas instead of interested in them, yet one of them seemed to know and got offended when he was offered, insisted he wasn't Yiga." Yeah, that was definitely suspicious. 'He knew what the Yiga test was but not about the Calamity?'

Nodding, Beetle poked his head around the shrine, looking down at the stable just below them. "I don't know what they have planned, Link but we have your back no matter what decision you make." That made him feel a bit better at least, it was a comforting thought to know his people had his back and would protect him if it came to that. 'Let me try talking to them, see what I can find out.'

With that being the current decision both Link and Beetle began trekking down the hill the shrine sat atop of, Beetle carefully climbing down the ledge of it whilst Link simply jumped down, seemingly unbothered by the distance.
