Chapter Text
She was always careful about how she opened the door. Trying to listen for any noise that gave the person away before checking the peephole and then finally slowly unlocking the door. That's how she did it.
"Hello..."
The people on the other side smiled. One was a man, with short brown hair. His smile wasn't as wide as the person he was with, but he seemed to be politely smiling. He had something in his hands.
The woman he was with was the one with the wide smile, her hair all spiky and blonde. She was clearly pregnant, but unlike the classic pregnant woman pose of resting hands on the baby bump, she had her hands on her hips.
"Hello there! We're your new neighbours! Just moved in, thought we'd cook up something nice for you." The woman took the package from the man and handed it over.
"I'm... you didn't have to, but thank you." She stepped out slightly , to receive the food.
The woman gasped. "Oh wow, you look just about as pregnant as I am."
This is why she didn't like coming out of her home. Slightly wincing at the woman's words, she began to retreat. "Um, thank you for the food but I should head back in..."
"Hey!" She paused, before she fully shut the door. The blonde lady looked down at her baby bump and then back up at her face. "I... we didn't get to introduce ourselves. I'm Bakugou Mitsuki, this is my husband Masaru."
Masaru bowed slightly. "Nice to meet you."
She bowed back, unable to look them in the eyes. She introduced herself, her voice quiet.
"You have a lovely name, kid."
The blonde lady , Mitsuki, was nice. She hated feeling so comforted by a stranger.
Masaru cleared his throat. "If you need any help... feel free to ask us. At any time."
Mitsuki hummed in agreement. "How far along are you?"
"Seven and a half months..."
"Oh wow!" She pat her pregnant belly. "I'm seven months too! These two should be out around the same time, nice that none of us will have to deal with that on our own, huh?"
"Yeah..." she nodded. "Um, thank you Mr and Mrs Bakugou... I'll let you know if I need anything."
And she did need things. She needed money, most of all. But she wouldn't ask two complete strangers for it. Instead they offered her something better. Companionship or friendship, whatever anyone else would call it.
One thing your mothers never stopped talking about was their simultaneous birth. It was the thing that had brought them closer together. Your mother said it had brought her out of her shell.
That simultaneous birth, the tale of your mother going into labour and knocking on their door for a ride which was the catalyst for Mitsuki to experience her labour pains and end with them going together. That whole experience made them continue to do things baby related for the rest of time.
There was an entire album dedicated to just pictures of their kids. First steps, first words, first hugs, quirk development, first day of school, last day of school, picture day, birthdays, you name it.
The ones your mom and Mitsuki always gushed about was when you were both about two years old, and you were hugging in a picture of the two of you at an amusement park. With no directions, you had just kissed Katsuki's cheek.
Your mom and his parents were overjoyed that they caught that on camera.
Of course, as you aged, less and less photos were being taken. Sometimes, the two of you simply refused to stand next to each other. Other times, Katsuki's scowl was too deep or you were glaring at him too much.
A sudden noise on your window sill made you jump from your bed. You waited a moment, suspecting. It was your imagination. But when you heard it again, you were quick to run to your bedroom window, sliding it open.
"I told you to quit that Katsuki!"
Katsuki leaned against the railing of his balcony. "My friend accidentally ordered an extra ticket to the Super Punch movie! Want one?"
Your eyebrows furrowed. "You sure you don't wanna give that to anyone else?"
While your parents believed that the two of you had simply grown apart, due to your age and a difference in gender, the two of you could confidently say that wasn't the case at all.
"Nah," Katsuki shook his head. "No one else would properly appreciate Super Punch like we do. The kid who bought it doesn't even know the main actor."
You gasped. "No way... he's your friend?"
Katsuki scoffed. "Not when I get into UA."
You pressed your lips together. "You're pretty confident about that, aren't you?"
He grinned. "Of course I am! I don't have some lame quirk like everyone else's, and I already aced the mock exam. I'm all set."
You hummed. It was as he always said. He'd surpass All Might and be super rich. As if he wasn't already.
"That reminds me," he continued. "My mom was pestering me about where you're applying. UA, too?"
You shrugged. "I don't think so... don't think I'll get in."
He frowned. "Are you stupid? You're better than half the shits I know that are applying. They're just wasting everyone's time."
Rolling your eyes, you chuckled. "I don't even know what I wanna do, dude. I'm not as sure as you!"
"And UA has other things," Katsuki said. "Might as well get in and then decide what you want!"
You propped your elbows up on the window sill. "I'll see when the time arrives! Don't make me think about it yet..."
Katsuki scoffed before beginning to move. "Don't yell at the rest of us when you screw yourself over in the future cause you can't make a decision, idiot! Now go to sleep!"
You picked up a pebble that had fallen on your window sill, and threw it right back at him. "You're the one kept me from sleep in the first place, Bakago!"
"You think you're funny?!"
"You think you're intimidating?!"
"Stupid—"
"Dumb—"
"GO TO SLEEP!"
The voices of your mothers had you shutting the window, and Katsuki heading back to his room.
"Good night!" You both called out to each other and your families before shutting your lights off.
