Chapter Text
10 months ago, Dagobah Beach...
It all started 10 months ago, at least for one Midoriya Izuku. One moment he was sulking in-between mounds of trash easily higher than 9 feet tall, after All Might himself shot down his dreams...
The next, he was seeing a dragon of all things, covering up a crystal core of sorts! How did he come across the dragon? He may never know.
But what he does know is that it may have been the best decision of his life to pick up the crystal. He found that when he did...
A voice sounded out to him in his mind. "Hey, kid. I need some help here."
Naturally, he started freaking out at hearing a voice in his head. He was running around like a headless chicken for a few moments, before hearing light laughter in his mind.
"Jeez kid, you sure do know how to make a good show, huh? Hey, how about some introductions?", then, a woman began to take shape in front of him, a ghostly specter of a form.
She had long, dark hair, and red horns like an Oni, wearing a sort of Hero Costume? It was relatively skimpy too, which made Izuku look away and blush. Then, he registered what she just said.
"My name is Raiden Mei. What might yours be, hmm~?", she continued, positively amused at his expression. Her mere presence demanded authority, despite her polite words.
"M-my na-name is M-Midoriya Izuku," Izuku stuttered out. Surprisingly, it was easier than normal to talk to this woman. He didn't totally lock up! Improvement?
"Well met, Midoriya. Now then, let me explain our situation right now. What you just touched was what is called a Herrscher Core, and it is specifically my Herrscher Core. When you grabbed it, we became linked, as my body seems to have been lost in my traveling from home...", 90% of the words he heard from her mouth sounded insane, but he believed her fully.
Why did he believe her? What was this link? What does this mean for him?
Questions he would soon get answers to.
Over the course of a few hours, she explained to him where she was from, what she is, what the link between them meant, and most importantly...
What this would mean for him.
"What I mean to say is, you and I are now linked together, and that means we will have to work together. What do you want to know now?", Mei asked, and Izuku frowned.
"What does the 'link' entail exactly?", he asked, bemused at the term.
"What it entails is that our consciousnesses are connected now. What you know, I know, and vice versa. Of course, that only works if both of us consent to knowing each other," Mei explained.
Izuku was still kind of confused, but he understood the gist of it. "Should we do that now?", he asked, curious.
"If you truly want to," Mei replied, he nodded, and then the world shifted.
Surrounding them was a dark abyss of nothing, and they stood upon a platform, with images flying past them at great speeds.
They were now in a mindscape, shared by the two of them. How either knew was beyond them, but regardless, they did. Now that they were inside of there, they could see various memories flying past them, in a format that eluded them both.
Soon, the memories slowed down, and they were able to look at the other's experiences as if they were their own.
Hours seemingly passed by, and both of them now sat down in front of each other.
"I can't believe you went through all of that. They really thought so lowly of you, just for being born different?", Mei asked, infuriated at Izuku's bullies.
"And I can't believe that you went through all of that! You lost so much, and you still fought for what you thought was right! Mei...", Izuku trailed off.
Mei was looking down.
"I couldn't- I couldn't handle it in the end. The universe itself sent me here, finding a way for me to live, even if no one else did. Sometimes I wished I never had to leave them..."
Mei had been forced to leave her own universe after The End, after they failed. The story unfolded wrong, and they failed to beat The Finality... Mei just wished it wasn't her that had to leave and keep living.
...
"Mei, it's not your fault," Izuku grabbed her hand, and looked her in the eyes.
"How could you know that?", Mei retorted, albeit sadly, with little bite.
She was crying.
"If you could have beaten them, you would have! It wasn't possible, so don't blame yourself! What do you fight for?", Izuku asked her, eyes shining with recognition at her look.
It was the same look he surely had on the rooftop.
"...All that's beautiful in the world?", Mei responded, confused.
"There you go. It's alright," Izuku hugged her, uncaring of his prior embarrassment at talking to a woman.
She was still crying, although much less.
"What do you say? Will you help me if I help you, Raiden Mei?", Izuku asked her, conviction in his tone.
She looked up at him, he had stood up and was offering his hand to her.
She took it.
"Of course, Midoriya Izuku."
Present time, U.A. Highschool, front gate...
And that was how he met her.
Now, he had spent 10 months with Mei, and learned quite a few things from her. For one, her authority was control over electromagnetism, and he now had but a fraction of it, as his body was undeveloped for its power.
He had spent that 10 months training and getting used to having a voice in his head.
He had asked her if she saw him showering a while ago, and she said she purposely shut off the visual connection at those points. She wasn't a pervert, after all!
He also wondered if the Honkai would come here, after her universe was destroyed by it.
She replied:
"I do hope not, but I don't know for sure."
If that wasn't concerning, he didn't know what was.
Now then, let's begin the story, for real this time!
He took a a deep breath, stepped forward, and...
He tripped over his own feet.
'Great, is this how I die?', Izuku thought to himself.
"No, you're fine Izuku, just wait," Mei spoke through their connection.
And then, his sense of gravity went all wonky.
"Sorry for using my Quirk on you like that! I thought it would be bad luck to fall today!", a bubbly feminine voice said to him.
He looked back, and saw a girl with rosy cheeks, brown hair, and a sheepish smile behind him.
"O-oh, don't worry about it! Thanks for the save!", Izuku replied, having spent months with a girl living in his head, he'd developed a confidence towards talking with women.
"My name's Uraraka Ochako, what's yours?", Uraraka asked politely.
"I'm Midoriya Izuku, but shouldn't we be heading off to the exam?", Izuku asked in kind.
Uraraka had seemingly forgotten about the exam for a moment, and her brain caught up.
"Oh, yeah! We should get going, huh? Good luck!", she then walked off quickly.
"Good luck!", Izuku called after her, walking as well.
It was time to ace this exam!
1 week later...
They had been waiting for the exam results for almost an entire week, and Izuku couldn't help but be stressed.
"But, what if they decide that I wasn't heroic enough or something like that?!", he questioned once, not long after the exam day.
"Izuku, you do realize that by saving Uraraka from the rubble, they'd be fools to turn you down?", Mei had replied to his question.
It didn't help his anxiety more than about 10%.
Now, it was around the time that the results were sent to the examinees, and Izuku was vibrating with anticipation.
He couldn't be more excited to see how well he did!
The day passed by them in a flash, and soon...
"Izuku! There's a letter from U.A.! Do you want to open it alone?", Izuku's mother, Inko, called out to him.
"Sure thing, mom," Izuku replied.
Once in his room, he closed the door, and set down the envelope, it felt strangely heavy for some reason.
He sat down at his desk, and opened the letter.
Out popped a small metal disk, which then began projecting a hologram.
"BOOYAH, I AM HERE!", All Might appeared on the holographic screen, shouting his famous catchphrase.
Izuku couldn't be more nettled.
This man, he was the one to crush his dreams all that time ago...
Why was he on a U.A. letter, though?
"You're looking at U.A.'s newest faculty member!"
And wasn't that a surprise!
"Young Midoriya, you scored a total of 97% on the written exam! Quite good, if I do say so myself! It makes you one of the top scorers on the written portion, number 3, to be exact!"
Well, that's nice, at least.
"Young Midoriya! I'll get straight to the point, you scored a total of 43 Villain Points in the practical exam! Not quite enough to pass..."
For fuck's sake!
"If that was all we graded you for, of course. No, we also graded the examinees on 'Rescue Points', a grading system designed to prove who has heroic spirit, and you my boy, have a lot!"
Well, that makes it a bit better.
"Scoring a total of 68 rescue points, you, Young Midoriya, have a total of 111 Points in this entrance exam! You earned first place in the practical, gaining more points than my 108 point score way back when!"
Woah... He really scored that much?
"That concludes it, and so I welcome you to your HERO ACADEMIA!", the projection stopped abruptly after that, and Izuku was left alone with his thoughts...
And Mei congratulating him, of course!
"Great job, Izuku, you aced the exam! I couldn't be more proud of you right now!", Mei was currently visible and clapping for Izuku.
"Thanks, Mei," Izuku spoke softly.
Then, a knock at his bedroom door.
"Izuku...?", Inko walked in, unperturbed at Mei, after all, they had met around 7 months back, when Mei had outright insisted to properly meet his mother.
"I did it, mom, I passed...", tears were starting to well up in Izuku's eyes.
"Oh, Izuku...", tears welled up in Inko's eyes as well.
They both cried a lot that night.
To be continued...
Chapter 2: Apology
Summary:
Sorry.
Chapter Text
I want to say sorry.
I'm not going to be able to continue with this story like I wanted. I just couldn't find any time for it with my schedule, and by now, I've come up with better ideas for a story.
Sorry I couldn't come up with more than 1 chapter. It's a real let-down, I know. At least it is for me.
I've got no more interest with this story.
Bye.
