Chapter Text
Albus sighed relieved the moment he saw his boyfriend standing on Platform 9 3⁄4, chatting with his father while waiting for his friends to get on the train. Albus had been extra nervous for this day, the very first day back at Hogwarts for his 6th year, now going back to school in a relationship.
After the fatidic acts that took place in their fatidic 4th year, Albus and Scorpius didn’t take long to realize that they couldn’t live without each other. What took long was the confession part.
After Christmas, in that same year, they randomly, and slowly started making friends around the Slytherin House. Albus always thought that nothing big would come out of it, but turns out they found their people, their “pack”, as Julia likes to call themselves.
Scorpius reconnected with the Zabini twins, Malcolm and Alessandro, after not speaking with them since they were five years old. With the boys, Nicole Graham came along, Alessio’s girlfriend. Nikki was roommates with Amber, and they became friends with Julia, a foreign student who never really interacted with anyone until them. Johnny was the last addition to the group, a boy who ended up as a roommate in the boys’ dorm in 5th year.
By the time 5th year winter break was over, Albus felt like he was gonna explode if he didn’t tell anyone what he felt for his best friend, and found Julia to be his safe place. That was the first time he’d ever come out. Spring arrived and, one day, Scorpius asked Albus to walk with him to the lake, away from all the noise their friends were always making. That’s when the blonde boy confessed how he felt, and Albus felt like he could breathe again, for the first time in a very long time. They’ve been together ever since, with constant jokes from their friends, but an insane amount of love too.
Over the summer, the green eyed boy took courage and told his parents. Ginny knew, she was trying so hard to act surprised, but it was no use. Harry was rather surprised, not super convinced with the idea, but the moment he saw Albus’ eyes glisten when he saw Scorpius from far away, that’s the moment he felt truly happy. Because he saw Albus happy.
And although his relationship with his siblings, James and Lily, had gotten better through the years, he was scared that he would take to ruins all the progress they’ve made if he told them. Even more scared to confront the rest of his big, very large, ginormous family, who were not very warm and kind when it came to the Malfoys.
On the other hand, Draco Malfoy became the happiest man on earth when he found out about Scorpius and Albus. Mostly because he was afraid to see his son die without knowing what true love feels like, he is always afraid when it comes to his boy. Because he is all he has.
All those moments had taken them here, to the first day of 6th year, and Albus was nervous about it, because he didn’t know how much long he could hide his affections with Scorpius, but he was also much nervous about coming out to an entire school, that hasn’t been very nice to him in the past.
“You’ll be fine” Harry’s voice took his middle kid by surprise. “You have each other” Albus turned around to smile at his father, said goodbye to his mother, and took this stuff and went to meet Scorpius.
As he got closer to the blonde family, Draco noticed him and gave him a big smile, as he always did, ever since Scorpius and Albus became friends. “Hello there, Al, ready for a new year?” he asked.
“Think so, Sir” Albus answered, then proceeded to reach for Scorpius hand “You ready?”
“Not at all, I wanna throw up right now” Scorpius had an awkward smile on his face, and his eyes were wide open, looking at his dad for a bit of comfort.
“You’ll be fine” Draco spoke “You have each other”.
“Last call for the Hogwarts Express, everybody!” A loud shout was heard all across the Platform, and the two boys grabbed their stuff, the blonde one giving a last hug to his father, and made their way into the train.
Once inside, they made their way into the Slytherin wagon, where Alessandro Zabini was waving at them from a table they’ve secured. “I’m so pumped for this year, we’re gonna kill it at Quidditch” he said, while grabbing a candy from his girlfriend’s sweets.
“Alessandro, train hasn’t even parted, you can’t eat my whole sweets supplies in five minutes” Nikki complained, “Are you alright, Scorpius? You look kind of pale…”
“I’m actually terrified, thanks for asking, Nikki”
“What for, buds?” Said Malcom, sitting next to him on the bench. Scorpius looked at him with an obvious hint “Oh, that for. Don’t worry, as long as everything goes as you want it to be..”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, if you guys don’t want the secret to come out, then it won’t. If you want to come out and show everyone, then it will. You are the ones in control of that, not anybody else”
Albus and Scorpius looked at him in awe, and Julia spoke while she grabbed a seat next to the Zabbini twin.
“That’s the first time I actually heard you saying something not stupid”
Albus laughed, as he felt Scorpius hand placing on his thigh. He knew he would be okay.
Or so he thought.
“Hey everyone!” Said Ben, a Gryffindor boy who just bursted into the Slytherin wagon, followed by fellow house buddies, “Have you seen it?”
“Seen what?” Alessio stood up from his seat to confront him.
“There’s a blog on Wizagram, look for The Quicksilver”.
“What?” Scorpius whispered, as Albus grabbed his phone and searched for the account, which had one picture, two Hufflepuff students kissing, with the caption:
“Nothing gets past me, especially Gideon and Ally sneaking around Diagon Alley on Saturday. Funny thing, Gideon’s anniversary with his girlfriend, Monica, was on Sunday. Good luck, buddy!
Watch out, Hogwarts, no secrets allowed.
Quicksilver.”
“We are so screwed” Albus sighed.
This was gonna be a tough year.
