"The crowd's so big."
A group of four Lithuanians found themselves pushing through the masses of people in a city so far away from their home. Madrid's streets were filled and bustling, much to their dismay.
"Sure is," Lukas hummed back at Jokūbas, donning his favourite pair of shades. He mumbled a small apology as he squeezed in between a couple.
Alanas checked his phone every other minute, keeping the time in mind. They had to show up at the Pre-Party venue in about an hour and they still had a bus to catch, but the sea of tourists didn't help their case at all.
"Lukas, you're losing us," he called to their singer, carefully stepping around a pair of young girls as he tried to catch up to him. Jokūbas and Emilija were following a bit further behind.
Lukas huffed and glanced at Alanas over his shoulder as the brunette caught up. "You want to form a chain or something?" he quipped sarcastically.
"Sure, why not," Alanas grinned back, taking the other's hand and intertwining their fingers.
"I was joking," Lukas chuckled dryly, but didn't pull away. Instead, he pulled Alanas along as he pushed on through the gaps in the crowd.
The guitarist took the hint and opted to reach out to the other two behind him. They had no choice but to complete the chain now, after all.
Emilija giggled as she realized what they were doing, and promptly took Alanas' hand into one of her own. The other she slotted together with Jokūbas' hand, shooting him a small smirk.
The drummer seemed surprised at first, but noted the other guys' joined hands soon and huffed a small laugh.
With that, the plan had found agreement within the group and the four made their way through the exponentially thinning web of people. A few strangers gave them weird looks, but they didn't care.
Lukas was the first to let go once it was clear that they wouldn't be losing each other again.
"What's the time, Alanas?" he asked, eyes peeking up at the taller from behind the shades.
"It's, um," Alanas started, still attached to Emilija, who wasn't letting go of the two guys at her sides either. "15:24..."
"Isn't our bus supposed to come in 5 minutes...?" the bassist asked worriedly.
"Shit, you're right," Alanas supplied, looking between Jokūbas and Emilija, then at Lukas. His eyes were wide.
Jokūbas cleared his throat. "Uh... I think we need to run."
The four immediately took of running, following Alanas with the GPS. Emilija chuckled a little as she found herself still running hand in hand with Jokūbas, and even Lukas couldn't stop smiling at the ridiculousness of it all.
"Remind me to never let you time-manage again," he shouted at Alanas, and the others laughed too.
Luckily enough, they didn't miss their bus in the end.
