Chapter 1: A vase pieced back together, its parts no longer the same.
Chapter Text
Boruto fell forth into the storm from hell, his cape flowed roughly in the violent winds, and his heart pounded furiously. Somewhere down below, a fight raged against what can only be described as deity, peerless in its magnitude of power, and unequaled in its thirst for destruction.
They had slipped through the cracks, and fallen into its realm, and it wanted them gone.
Boruto could only pray that those he worked with to prevent harm to their worlds could hold out until he arrived.
Still falling, a massive structure came into view, a tall dismembered skyscraper, sailing upward toward him. Boruto flipped back out of his diving motion, preparing to land. Finally he hit the concrete, its texture rough, cracking under his heels. Nevertheless this was a battle against time, time he didn't have as he dashed forward and right off the edge, sliding right down the side of the angled skyscraper.
Toward the bottom, however, a bloom of a deep red gas-like substance rose from the depths of the crimson storm. Hell found its way to Boruto, as suddenly the building was thoroughly blasted through repeatedly, concrete and glass smashed upward from the battle down below, forcing Boruto into a game of luck as he shifted into a dead sprint toward the end.
Hearing the sound before the boom, Boruto rolled forward as the ground below him was torn to shreds, white stars flashed throughout his vision when his head smashed against the concrete.
Blood trickled down his neck from his ear, his eardrums pounded by the boom.
Nevertheless, he took the leap off the edge, and dived further into the chaos.
Finally, the event horizon of deep red and vibrant violet shades overtook the young Shinobi, his heart soothing as the calmness of nothingness enveloped all. The silence, contact with nothing, no air, no thought.
Boruto faded to nothing.
Then everything surged to focus, as he reentered the battle.
Booms, clashes of metal and ancient chants, that's what Boruto came to as he awoke in the red sands. When has he landed, how long had he been out? None of it mattered, he must continue fighting. Crawling out from his resting place, Boruto weakly made his way over the mound of sand and dead grass, as he took in the sight of a devil.
Black whips wrapped around its thigh, becoming taught before sending a young costumed hero tumbling through the sky, his glowing fist arched back as he slammed another earth shattering punch into that thing.
Pink flashed down below as the demon-like sorcerer dashed between the sharp giant metal spears in the dirt, his dark fists briefly aglow with blue energy before he leaped upward, and punched at the thing as well.
However both found themselves flying backward, as the devil snatched them both out the sky, and poured its power into its fingertips, sweeping them away with mere flicks.
Then it turned to look at him, its eyes golden and piercing in its taunting gaze. It saw right through the former Uzumaki.
“The boy who fell from heaven, now waist deep in hell.” It spoke, its voice practically etching itself into the air with how grotesque and vile it sounded.
“Tell me, what future do you behold, with that eye of yours”
-
Boruto shot forward, stumbling to the ground as his breath. His vision finally ended. “What.. what was that?” The visions Momoshiki allowed him had never been so vivid before, he’d never seen any signs of himself, especially from his own perspective.
Somehow.. Boruto could still feel those vile eyes on him, as if whatever he saw in the future truly set its eyes on him, as if they for a brief moment did not reside in a mere vision.
The sun grew red as it descended into the horizon.
-
Somewhere, an impossible mirror broke.
And two boys slipped in a world not their own.
-
It was dark, all light was so far above that all he could feel was its embers as they floated down below. He'd lost every last sliver of the will to keep going. He’d lost his drive deep inside the demon that possessed him. Sukuna.. no.
Itadori, he would save him.
He has to.
Because suddenly, despite the absence of all, and the enveloping darkness..
He could feel something, a shadow in the dark, coming for him.
Despite it all, the pain, sadness, and the desperate wish for it all to just end, he managed to feel fear.
“Please, no more.
Don't take.. anymore” he mumbled, the shadow passing over him.
It simply bore into him.
“Pay it no heed, we must make our move whilst all is still submerged, before all else burns in the light.” was spoken somewhere out in the dark.
Megumi could only shift into a ball as he receded inwardly.
-
Deku awoke in a place he’d never seen before, a place that was like a never ending puddle of water, just barely a few inches deep. Half his face was covered under the waves, he couldn't feel his hands.
“All.. for… one?” he questioned, pushing his hand further, as he felt his surroundings. “I won't let you..” he muttered, numb and confused. It was only then that he realized that the users of the past were missing. His face scrunched up as he figured what must have happened, he knew that he lost his arms.. With them back, and him in such a mysterious place?
He must have died.
So why did he hear a chainsaw somewhere in the distance?
-
Burning, the flames of the demon churned throughout the city, the furnace left open. Itadori watched his older brother crumble apart, blood faded to ash, and Choso was gone.
Surrounding them was no longer the city he once knew, but this? This wasn't right.
Not as Yuji found himself in a calm meadow, no Sukuna in sight, and the only remnant of battle being the now fading blood construct Choso used to protect Yuji.
Standing up, the disheveled and heavily injured Yuji Itadori looked about, his confusion somehow disorienting. Finally his injuries began settling in, as his adrenaline faded.
“Big brother..” he began, stumbling about as he realized he was no longer in the battle. What would become of his comrades without him? His consciousness receded nonetheless, until he was caught in the arms of someone. Soft pink hair much like his own quietly settled across his face.
“What the hell happened to you?” Sakura asked, as she somewhat uncomfortably held the young cursed sourcerer. With a silent note of the severe yet seemingly half healed injuries he held, she hoisted him up as she bridal carried him forth. To Konoha.
-
Deku stood atop a mound of purple sand, a setting sun laid everything gently into a warm red hue. However, that only grew to unsettle him further.
Down below, a shirtless maniac seemed to be letting his chainsaw quirk run wild, blood covering him from head to toe. Scar marks in the earth were all about, showing signs of a fight, yet no one was to be seen, and now the crazy man stood completely still. Midoriya, being without his quirks, felt somewhat worried about what would happen if he tried to help the guy, but knew as a hero he had to.
“Can't.. go back.. I can’t” He said, as his bloody chainsaws churned aggressively.
“Go back to where? If you're lost, I can help!” Deku yelled, and the man lost in the dark turned toward him. “Where. Is. Nyatua.” It responded.
-
“This is unprecedented,” Sakura stated, the unconscious boy she'd found had been laid on an examination table, as she and Shizune attempted to heal his injuries. “I don't understand, just a few minutes ago attempting to revitalize his chakra and heal him were useless, and now it works perfectly fine?” Tsunade's former assistant questioned. “It's strange, no matter how deep I dig, it's as if chakra does not properly exist inside him.. And yet I feel pushback to my medical jutsu, as if he has something entirely different from anything we've ever known.” Sakura responded.
“Call Shikamaru.” Sakura suddenly ordered.
-
Screaming. Someone was screaming..
It just kept going, for minutes or maybe hours, until he felt his throat get sore, and realized he was screaming.
It was then that he realized that he was finally alone.
-
Quietly a man, nothing more or less, walked in the dark shades of a city burned to ash. In a period of time that he should never have been alive. At his waist he held a man of fate similar to his own, while atop his shoulder hung a boy who had barely scraped by and past such a demise.
“Please, I need to see.. What's become of the battle.” All Might spoke, his voice feeble and weak, but a strong determination shone deep in his words.
“The battle? I'm not sure what's going on here, but if I had anything to say, it’d be that this battle is over, old man.” Toji Fushiguro responded coldly. “With this heat and carnage, I’d wager that anyone you might be looking for is dead.”
“Have you no heart? He’s fighting far too hard for you to have just given up.. Not that I blame you, any of you.” the former hero muttered. “In any case, I humbly ask that you protect young Bakugo, he needn’t suffer any further.” his heart was heavy with guilt over what his image had caused, yet knew the blood, sweat and tears are what would win this battle.
“Heh, I’ll let you off this once, but don't order me around old man..” Toji responded.
In the end, he was the one who found them lying in the grovel, he simply intended to carry them to where the carnage was less severe.
However, he could feel it. The feeling of another, somewhere in the smoke and ash.
-
The sunset burned furiously, and a deem orange hue stretched across the horizon as Deku found himself sliced across the chest and flung across the purple desert.
Crashing down with a thud, Deku rose slowly, as the man rushed down from the stars, his blood splaying out of him with every passing second.
“Dammit, can't you see that your quirk is killing you?!” Deku yelled as he raged forward, imbuing his legs with the embers of all for one.
“Where is she?!” The demon-like man screamed, as he crashed against the young hero.
As the dust cleared, Denji found his right chainsaw arm embedded into the earth, the hero’s boot atop it. “Just tell me your name, I can help.” Deku said.
“Names Denji, and I've heard that one before!” he yelled, before pushing upward so hard that Deku was flung backward.
Deku quickly began gaining distance as he used One For All to leap backward repeatedly despite his pre-existing injuries. Rather shockingly this Chainsawman could keep up by simply running, slamming his chainsaws into the ground to pivot quickly and violently.
Soon they found themselves racing across the desert, sneaking in strikes as they went.
The hare and the fox.
Finally the slumbering city rose from the ashes.
-
Itadori stirred awake as booms from somewhere nearby sounded out. Sitting up, he found himself alone, save for a lone kitten rolled up on his waist.
“Eh.. where did you come from?” He asked the small animal, it yawned as it awoke with him.
“That's Mikazuki, he likes you..” came from somewhere behind. The voice was deep, and gave the feeling of naivety mixed with a sense of purpose and duty. Itadori turned back slightly, giving the presence he couldn't and still can't quite sense correctly a single watchful eye.
“Does he? what makes you say…?” Yuji asked, it was the strangest sense, such a polite individual.. with the smell of killing intent surrounding them.
“Mitsuki, and don't worry, you don't need to be so on guard with me,” He started, his eyes closing and the choking sense he invoked subsided slightly. “He hopped up on you as soon as we walked in, oh.. and you should know, I'm here to interrogate you.” He finished
-
“I.. I don't understand, what is this.” Deku muttered, he was sailing through the air, and in the middle of a fight, and yet completely distracted.
A rusted red city had risen from the purple ash like sand, bit by bit becoming something to behold, soon him and Denji found themselves battling throughout the medieval like streets of a place neither had seen anything like, then the sun reversed directions, and what was the slivers of deep orange light became an impossible red, as the sky seemingly burned.
Deku could taste blood, but he wasn't bleeding. Denji could taste it too, and before long his exhausted state became rejuvenated by the corpses of an entire civilization reduced to a thin mist found their way onto his tongue.
“You should know, kill me dead, choke me, stab me, break my neck, I'll keep coming back till you give her back to me, so just hand her over already!” Denji yelled out, sprinting like the devil himself was at his back.
“It would help, if you TOLD me who you're looking for, I mean hell a description!? Literally anything!” Deku yelled back, his metal soles barely deflecting the chainsaws, which were beginning to break past deku’s defenses.
As the blood dripped from his chin, And Deku felt his power wane, he realized he had to take things seriously. The man clad in silver chainsaw’s and demon-like orange armor wasn't going to stop, he was hysterical and didn't seem like he knew what he was doing, but Deku had to act one way or another.
The red spirals of jagged spiked peaks and Impossibly shaped turns and corners surrounded the two, suddenly Deku was off, brashly slamming his way up to the top, where a clearing resided. Denji followed, his neverending thrall of bloodlust pushing him forward at an unstoppable rate as he pursued his prey through the blood red skyscrapers.
“You ain't walking away with her, get back here dammit!!” Denji yelled his body burning as he pushed past his limits in false pursuit. As Deku disappeared from sight Denji angrily sped up, making his way to the top with such speed that he lost control, flying overtop with no sense to stop.
So it was only as expected when a hammer-fist from below bashed against his chin, flinging him up and further out of control.
-
Boruto walked out from his room, the snake pattern that adorned the halls followed him as he made his way to Koji. However, something was wrong. His heart pounded out of beat, his vision blurred. He wondered if another vision was to appear, as he fell to his knees. His sense of reality corrupted, and all became formless without color or shape. It faded with every breath, as he could see again. Then Koji came down the hall, glaring down at his student. “Boruto, I need you to go to Konoha, now..” He seemed perplexed as he watched Boruto stagger to his feet.
“What’s happening..?” Boruto asked, his breathing hitched as he returned to normal. “Something that does not exist on a single path of my visions has arrived, Eida informed me.” He responded, yet Boruto did not move.
“Eida? Since when was she with us?” Boruto asked, before clutching his chest once more, his breathing tight. “Boruto.. Are you ok?” Koji asked, slowly edging forward so as to catch him if he falls. “Eida has been working with us for days, we were watching the battle in the sand when you walked away.” He continued.
“A battle in the sand? I just woke up, how long have I been gone?” Boruto suddenly asked, his breath became further strained as he tried to understand the situation. “You.. just walked out a minute ago..” Koji stated, stepping back as he watched Boruto with newfound confusion.
Then Eida walked in. “Koji, something’s wrong. Everyone from the battle..” She took in the sight of Boruto, shock on her face. “Everyone including Boruto just vanished from the battle, I can’t gather any sight in the area anymore either, something is spreading.”
“What do you mean he's gone, he’s standing right here. What happened exactly, how long ago was it?” Koji asked, if Boruto was now here, in such a mess, then perhaps a transportation jutsu mixed with genjutsu was at play. However none of this was in any of his forseen paths.
“That’s just it, I came here to tell you that some type of light had appeared in the battlefield, but as I came around the corner, I watched Boruto vanish even as I was staring at him.” Eida said, her voice lightly shaken. She was still staring at him.
-
Denji wasted no time as he skidded across the metal frame of a massive spinel like structure that arose alongside the rest of the rusted city, his chainsaws whirring aggressively as he kept up with Midoriya. Leaping out into the fray of rising violet dust in the burning red sun, He arched his arm back, preparing to cut into his opponent. However time repeated itself then and then again as Deku narrowly avoided his saws, opting to use the wasted attack to slam Denji across the neck with his boot, sending the teenager tumbling through the structures. Despite even that, happening not once, twice, or even thrice, Denji returned to his feet as he glared up right back at him. The kid had brought down his hood, and donned a mask, protecting his face. Now they both looked like monsters, giving a chill down Denji’s spine. In the musky, shabby, and dark room lit only from the blood red shining opening that Denji created, he took a single long breath.
Something didn’t feel right. Was he still on the train? Or was he in that alleyway? Or maybe he was neither. It felt like a dream he couldn't awake from. Where was Naytua, why can’t he find her, who took her. His saw’s whirred on, blood splattering about as he took it all in. The rage, fear, the knowing backstabbing thoughts that told him this was all his fault. He took it in, and pushed forward again. Leaping out the hole, using sheer strength to return to where he left. He spun his blades around once again, determined to find the truth.

Chapter Text
Deku felt his opponent speeding up, he’d long left the hysterics and theater as things became deadly serious, before long Deku had accepted that it didn't matter that this “Denji'' was searching for a girl, or that perhaps neither did anything wrong. This was life or death, and he couldn’t lose, not when he still needed to return to those who needed him.
Dashing about, the saws swung closer and closer as Deku maneuvered around them, one a bit too close, Deku ducked, slamming his body forwarded against the ground. One too low, Deku was in the air, then not as he used the air itself as a platform to avoid them. Again, faster, one more time. Deku gave a pattern to follow, swing at slight difference and nearly cut him, let the Chainsawman get a feel for it, then pull the rug out. One swing like all the others, telegraphed by them both together, but Deku didn't duck, using the air below he boosted in a twirl just above them, right toward and above Denji as he gripped the handle at his head.
Now Deku was planted against the man’s back in a squat, with barely much else to give, and power running out, Deku couldn’t hold back anymore as he drew his fist back, and smashed it against the chainsaw that covered Denji’s head.
-
“Hey, old man.” Toji said, his eyes grim.
“Y-yes, kind sir?” All Might answered, him having nearly passed out already.
“When I say, muster the strength and run ” Toji commanded.
Something in the smoke moved about, it couldn't have been more than a man, a puff of shadow just a bit too far to see. Yet as All Might followed Toji’s vision he felt something extraordinary, a sense a fear he’d never quite felt before, one that was innate, like the fear of falling or drowning. As he tasted that feeling, it changed slowly but surely until he recognized it.
The fear of death.
-
The night was quiet. No one was left. A hole was all that remained of Shibuya. Maki knew this. So tell her where the reconstruction was, ask her why she was here all of the sudden, her blade at her hip and blood on her lips. What was she doing ? The Shibuya Incident happened months ago, the burns that licked her skin had all but healed. Why was she back here again? Standing at the edge of pure destruction, a city leveled to absolute nothingness. The power to the rest of the area flickered, the entirety of the rest of the city seemingly slipping in and out of the all consuming black, and barely hanging light.
“Where am I?” someone asked calmly, still in shock of the display of purely magnificent destruction in front of them.
“Shibuya, around 3 months ago” Maki responded.
“Did people.. Live here?” The other asked, her black hair whipping around and about in the wind.
“What a strange question, how wouldn’t you know about this place?” Maki responded, as she gripped her blade slightly harder, the fog in her mind shifting about but never lifting.
“I don’t think I've ever seen or heard of a place like this. In fact, I don’t think I've been to this
planet
..” Sarada stated, her tone growing somber.
“You shouldn’t be so casual around strangers, we don't know each other, keep your conspiracies to yourself.” Maki said coldly, some part of her realizing that she was fighting before this, that she’d abandoned her comrades.
“Can’t you see the stars. They've completely changed, this night sky is nothing like what it should be.” Sarada continued, her voice slightly trembling. This was far too much, she needed to go back, she'd left Mitsuki and the others in the sand. Or was she fighting her father in the middle of Konoha, wasn't she fighting her father? Her foggy memories clashed.
She had to go back.
“Didn’t I say quit it?” Maki asked, her frustration of the impossible situation setting her on edge. “Are you some curse?”
A bloom of deep orange on the horizon surfaced, but it was no sun by any means.
“This place isn’t very peaceful either, is it?” Sarada asked, some part of her coming to her senses at the vivid display. An explosion that rocked the city to bits.
“No, no it isn't. This night is the same as then, and yet that never happened. What is this?” Maki questioned.
Finally the familiar feeling of a curse washed over her, something that brought her down from the fog in her head.
The hair on her skin stood on its end as a faint vile smell wafted in the air.
“I'm not sure who you are, but are you certain you are not a curse? She asked, turning to Sarada slightly to glare at her.
Red eyes answered her gaze. “I'm not here for battle, but you seem quite agitated, is there something wrong?” She asked Maki.
-
All might sat against the ground, kneeling as he took Bakugou into his grasp
“Hey, stay back, we don't know what he can do..!” All might said, attempting to grasp at the man before being brushed off without worry. “Don’t be a worrywart old man, I’ll be back.” Toji said, walking forth into the destruction.
Just a few hundred yards ahead, a being borne of destruction stood. It was unclear as to what took place, but in the fading ash and steam, it had seemingly killed someone. A splatter of sprayed blood stretched long ahead of its gaze. As the burning haze lifted, and it turned to face them, Toshinori finally could see his face. The shape of a gun aimed its barrel at him, and his arms were American rifles that he didn’t recognize.
“M16’s huh? Wonder what kind of mother curse had to spit you out..” Toji jokes, watching intently as the devil of a curse stumbled in his direction. “Don’t tell me those things shoot, I'm pretty fast but this is a bit unfair.” he continued, before flickering forward in an instant.
Silence followed for millisecond, then a crash from hell sounded out as the entire landscape to the left of All Might was funneled in a blast like nothing he’d seen before.
The damn thing smiled, before lifting his rifle’s in random directions.
“Where’d that man go!?” Toshinori exclaimed as he braced himself, pressing Bakugou into the ground “Don’t tell me he’s-” A whistle following a muted smash followed the shape of a man falling sharply out of the sky, slamming into the gun devil.
Then the ground erupted in explosion, as Aki rose to greet his playmate.
-
Deku panted loudly atop one of the many spires, his grip weak as he shuddered.
Down below, Denji was rising once more, his broken bones healed as if they never occurred. It was strange. Even as Deku lost energy, and gathered more and more battle damage, it was as if he still had so much to pull from. He felt as if this battle could continue forever, and contracted his legs against the side of the spire in a squat in response. Denji lapped his tongue at the air, taking in the scent and taste of blood as he revved his engine once more. Neither spoke, nor thought any further then this battle as they erupted forth like an explosion.
Typically Izuku played every battle of his through by thinking and constantly assessing the situation, but here the constants remained the same. The environment went on forever, Denji never tired and never got more or less dangerous, Izuku never faltered further than an exhausted pant, and he was never slow enough to get truly damaged.
If you told him that like Denji he had unveiled some kind of healing factor, he wouldn’t disbelieve you. This battle could go on forever like this, and in that Deku began looking outside the box. This place was entirely unfamiliar, and Deku no longer believed it to be some sort of unknown afterlife. He considered it being a place that One for All sent him, but it didn’t seem practical of the villain who had nearly murdered him in his last memories. So where were they?
Running across the arches, he matched speeds with Denji who bounded forward with a dog-like gait from just a few spires away. He weirdly seemed to enjoy this.
Denji on the other hand had begun to ponder the circumstances himself, but rather than get caught up in the details, he planned on how to ensnare Deku.
Testing his saw’s against the rusted red support walls, he found his plan.
-
An explosion that dwarfed the skyscrapers surrounding it gave relief to the tense seconds between the two dark haired women.
“I need to get over there, some curse is making a mess of everything..” Maki said, walking forth toward the booms. “I don’t sense any chakra from you, and yet I can tell you’re strong, what are you?” Sarada asked, matching her pace. “Chakra? Is that what you call it wherever you're from? I don’t have any, and I don't have to explain anything to you.” She responded, before dashing forward to leave the clueless girl behind.
But to her dismay, Sarada appeared right behind her, the crackle of electricity following her strangely. “Is this as fast as you can go?” The Uchiha asked with fake exclamation.
“No.” Maki said, before taking flight. Once again dismay hit her as this woman flew alongside her leaps. Giggling despite the carnage up ahead, the Uchiha’s eyes shone red.
“Dude.. You’re annoying.” The Zenin stated, glaring at her sudden companion.
But only silence hung in the air as they descended into the chaos below, the landscaped burned and had been reduced to ash in certain spots. In the middle of it all, the figure of a woman with a metal jar-like shape on her head.
“Hey! Could you tell us what's going on here?” Sarada yelled, her voice candid as she walked forth to descend. “Shut up, can’t you tell she’s totally sadistic. There’s bloodlust all over her.” Maki said, irritated with Sarada. “Well obviously, but what’s the point and being rude to someone you're about to take down either way..” The Uchiha gazed back with a lighthearted look, throwing a hand up to emphasize her point.
“Hmph, true enough I guess.” Maki concluded, before stepping forth and posing with a bow, “Hey, if you're done here, wanna grab a bite, I know a place!” She asked, her thumb pointed in a random direction behind her.
Silence followed for a moment as the woman turned to look at them, her helmet melting as she smiled at them with an innocent look. “Sure, let's check it out! I’m almost done anyway..” A boom followed.
“Not that you guys will make it there anyways, plus I’m not even dressed for a girls night out..!” She muttered, both of the girls smashed against concrete and glass under her metal arms, her grasp crushing their throats. Despite the overwhelming force, both of them gripped her wrists, easily forcing her back. “OK, I am definitely not paying for her.” Sarada said, her head cocked to the side as she pushed back. “Yeah no, I don’t like the type that rushes things..” Maki agreed.
“Haha, maybe you guys will be some fun!” Reze said, smiling innocently once more.
-
Eida and Boruto walked along the forest outside Konoha, Eida turned back to him, the village wall behind her.
“Ok, this is close enough, Mitsuki is inside, I'm not sure how but it's like Konoha has been reverted to a few days prior, the battle damage of Jura’s attack is not present.
Curiously, Konohamaru and the Hokage seem to be in alarm. Eida looked back at the village, letting her gaze slip along its wall as she viewed the inner events in its entirety.
“According to Koji, the Hokage seems to be aware that things are incorrect, placements in time that have been readjusted.” She continued.
“Alongside that, Jura seems to have paused his assault on Konoha, I doubt that the original battle will take place, especially without Sarada or Sumire present.” She finished, looking back at Boruto for anything further. “Class pres’ is missing as well?” Boruto asked, his confusion had been long replaced by annoyance at the shifting of time.
“Yes. The light I referred to before is on the horizon to the east, and at its current speed will arrive at Konoha at dusk.” She told him, her briefing reaching its finish. “We have around 8 hours and some change to figure out what's going on with time and what this light is, before whatever happened to the other you and Sarada happens to the hidden leaf.” She finally finished, a sigh left her lips as Kawaki appeared overhead on a tree branch.
“Damn, sounds pretty bad. What's this about a light?” He asked, his gaze laid limply on Eida.
“We don’t know, so let's go on and figure it out together, you know?” Boruto said, the ghost of a smirk on his lips. “Don’t get so friendly, from what I've heard you don't even remember our agreement.” Kawaki responded, a more rude look slipped across his features as he narrowed his brows. In response Boruto sighed, his own face narrowing slightly as he gave his brother a dubious stare.
“Now now boy’s, have some civility, I want a clean investigation.” Eida gracefully interrupted, her voice finding an uptick towards the end.
Hopping down, Kawaki brushed past Eida as he took toward the eastern horizon. Boruto glanced back at her before following his brother. Finally Eida followed, moving forth to slink her arms over their shoulders, mostly joking but happy to be around for the drama.

Chapter Text
The rubble became his foothold as Toji raced throughout the carnage, circling his opponent. The curse seemingly wasn't totally aware of him, opting to blow random directions to hell instead. There wasn’t a pattern to follow, so Toji resolved to edge forward carefully. He wasn’t keen on feeling the power of those blasts.
It really wasn’t difficult, slipping left and right, skipping forward and back as needed. Before long he was upon the devil, its barrel cast aside as it took in the landscape.
Toji was rather certain that it wasn’t a curse. After all, he could actually see it. Sight was the one realm in which he could not ascertain cursed beings, but his sharpened senses allowed him to perceive them as you would the direction of the wind or the temperature in the air. It came naturally, and so this being which stood physically before him defied his knowledge of things. Nevertheless he pushed forward, his arm reaching out to grab it. In an instant, at a speed that only he could perceive, a barrel had found its way facing him point blank.
-
A whine that reverberated through the air filled Deku’s ears, it hit him from every angle, not quite pinpointable yet alarming in its volume.
When the construction he stood upon suddenly began to shift, he was given an idea to its source. Denji had sprinted along the support pillars, slicing through them as he went, and now the whole damn thing was to come down. From afar, you’d have seen a massive railway in this ancient maroon city come apart, Deku sliding down its side as it becomes more and more steep for him. Denji quickly made his way up its falling side, aiming to meet his prey in the middle.
The muted boom of Izuku leaping off the marble-like metal was met with the rip of steel being torn apart as Denji leapt up as well, they slid past another, and blood spray was left in their wake. Deku’s legs went limp a moment, his hip having taken the brunt of the damage, not that he didn’t give something in return. Behind him the Chainsaw wielder flipped backward from the concussive force of his face being slammed in, a smile laced upon his lips as the blood from his broken nose dribbled in his mouth.
Both of them landed feet first as the collapse of the railway concluded around them, kicking up violet dust all about. “Is this all you can do?” the blonde coughed out, staggering with a sense of swagger as he turned back toward Deku. “I’m starting to think you don’t even know where Nayuta is?! Even she could have kicked your ass..” He finished, mocking his opponent as he took his stance.
Sighing, and taking a stance of his own, Deku responded. “Of course I don’t, never met her in my life.” his gaze narrowed.
“W-wait are you for real? Why didn’t you say that!” Denji suddenly exclaimed, his chainsaws swinging about as he gestured at Deku accusingly.
Silence followed him, as the hero simply glared at Denji. “That is literally ALL I've been saying!” He yelled, ripping his mask and hood off, his eyes wide with astonishment.
“W-what the hell, you’re just a kid?! I almost killed a kid?!?!” Denji practically screamed as his devil form melted away.
“What the hell, you can take it off? What kind of quirk do you even have..” Deku muttered, somewhat impressed by how versatile one man can make three chainsaws.
“So.. Have you seen a sorta bratty yee-high black-haired girl any time recently, her names Nayuta.” Denji asked, his aggressiveness all but vanished.
Silence followed once again, Izuku now shocked by his audacity.
They were too loud however, and what resides deep in these violet sands has come out to greet them.

The dead silent night’s moon hung over the broken city, flames licked every corner and edge, the people could only run for their lives. Near the city-center Sarada and Maki battled Reze, the Bomb devil.
Maki tore through the air, racing past the highest of skyscrapers as they were blown away besides her, like rockets through the air they were torn asunder like a jagged cleaver through thick bush. Sarada ran along their sides, leaping off one and throwing her wire connected kunai to sling her onto the next. Ahead of Sarada, Reze burst through the glass and steel, limply raising her palm to face the Uchiha. Suddenly Maki was upon her, through the glass and into an office, disappearing past the coffee table and into the stairwell before it all was blown away. Reze spun on her heel, barely dodging a lethal kick from the Uchiha who herself leapt back. Kicking up a table, Sarada braced behind it as an explosion ripped through the office once more.
A gravity pool formed behind the Bomb devil, the table sailing through the room and slamming her into the wall. Before Reze could get out a hand broke through the wall and put her in a chokehold. Palming the concrete wall, She easily blew it to hell with a breath of fresh air as she fell forward, but before she could even touch the ground Sarada came through with a drop kick to the table, while Maki crashed through floor after floor with speed under them. Falling through into the collapsing mess that they created, Sarada twisted the wrist of the Devil as she reared back her fist.
Maki down below began her ascend from wall to wall, her blade in hand once more.
Fresh blood pulled across Sarada’s face as stars flew from where Reze headbutted her, a palm shoved in front of her and the heat building meant only one thing. In response she grappled and maneuvered around Reze, planting both feet at her side and kicking within the fraction of a second, spinning her opponent. Rearing back once more Sarada now landed a devastating smash across her turning face, sending her sailing down to meet Maki. Predicting the attack, Reze flipped purposefully with her initial motion so she could aim directly down at her. Nevertheless Maki sailed forth.
A powerful explosion blew the building apart like a bubble in the middle, but even so it was cut clean through by Maki’s blade, and Reze in half.
“Hell yeah!” Sarada yelled as she fell, but paused as she noticed the smile on the Bomb Devil’s face as well. Setting a gravity well just ahead of her she drew Maki up, attempting to draw her away from the danger. But before either could properly act, an explosion dwarfing the previous one sent shockwaves through the city.

The distant explosion was curious to say the least, not much of what was happening made much sense, but Naruto was too busy with his own problems to attend to it all.
A few shadow clones when he had the time wouldn’t hurt though. His thoughts weren’t necessarily sporadic, and neither was the situation all that bad. Just a bit too weird.
He can’t honestly remember a thing, like literally nothing, just that he woke up face down on a bench like some bum. Not that he had anything against bums, he just wasn’t one. The first thing he saw was this ramen shop that he had to try, like woah. He ate for a while, but the rumbling ground seemed like it needed his attention so he stepped out. That and he needed to piss. He didn’t work totally great on a lack of sleep and confusing circumstances. He didn’t even know where he was, he realized as his pee hit the base of the tree.
Somewhere ahead he watched as this blonde walked up on this black haired kid who was totally bleeding and messed up. Naruto just needed to pinch it off and he’d go put a stop to…
“Woah where'd big white and ugly come from..” He said to himself, but before he could even think as he was zipping his pants up, the monster drew back his fist to hit the kid.
In an instant Naruto had this guy in his arms, standing on the side of a building while staring at this big hunky thing.
“Hey you know you gotta check out who you're summoning before you just go and try it..” Naruto said to the astonished Megumi.
“W-who the hell even are you?!” Megumi asked, before growing faint. “Just run, you c-can’t beat it..” He said, before fainting.
The divine general turned towards Naruto, staring him down.
Silence.
“Nah, I’d win.” Naruto stated confidently. His smirking grin seemed somewhat clueless at this point.

Boruto and Kawaki stood on the edge of a cliff, gazing upon the white light that surmounted the region ahead of them.
It stopped for nothing at all, swallowing entire mountains and rivers whole. “You know, in retrospect, I don’t think we're getting out of this light.” Kawaki muttered, it couldn’t exactly tell them what it was, and Eida wasn’t getting any clearer vision of the other side while watching. However up close they could see that the light didn’t last for too far, however the other side seemed strangely dark, the sun not reaching what the light had touched.
I’ll inform Shikamaru to go ahead with the full evacuation, you two just head back-” Boruto began as he lifted his hand to his lips for his Flying Rajian, but was interrupted by the sight of another just down the hill they stood upon.
A woman who stood motionlessly, as her cape flapped behind her. Her armor seemed silver, as was her clothing, but it was strangely muted. It was like someone painted over a dull matte gray over her entire body, but her armor still shined, and her yellow eyes with slitted pupils still gazed upon them. Her silence as she stood there put Boruto on edge.
He almost said something, called out to her, before Eida grasped his shoulder.
“That woman. She’s not breathing right now. Her heart is not beating in her chest.” She whispered to the boys. The woman’s hair flowed in the rising wind, her vibe gave off something other than human.
A blade rested upon her back, one that was massive and seemed almost unwieldy for her scrawny form. But nevertheless she took it in her grasp as she started forward, pulling out her sword as she swung it to her side.
It was a Claymore .

Kakashi sat crisscrossed in the Kamui dimension with mixed feelings. One, why was he suddenly able to use Kamui? Its power died with Obito. Two, how did he end up in such a crappy situation with no memory of how he got there, it was honestly irritating to feel so misplaced. Three, she was about to die but he totally kidnapped this woman, after seeing what she could do he was kind of worried he might kill him instantly if he tried to explain himself. It wasn’t that he was afraid of women, she was just that scary.
Oh she was snoring, he thought she was waking up and scampered away.
Turning away, Kakashi considered going off to deal with the scary guy who she was fighting, it wasn’t his place but it didn’t seem right to leave someone like that on the loose. With Kamui, Kakashi might just have a chance, even if the other guy had some pretty crazy power stored up in his gut.
“So, I’m Yuki, you saved me right?” He heard from behind him, he wasn’t shocked since she stopped snoring, he just didn’t feel like facing her. “Yeah, I'm Kakashi Hatake, what was the deal with that whole thing anyways?” He asked her, turning back. He was somewhat unnerved by how jolly she looked, that and why she was in criss-cross applesauce.
“Oh, nothing that serious, although could I ask something?” She said, cocking her head, as she leaned forward. “Uh, sure I guess.. Seemed serious to me though…” He muttered, sort of confused at her nonchalance.
“What kinda women do you like?” She asked.
