Summary
Decades after her husband's death, Fire Lord Izumi arrives at a diplomatic summit on Air Temple Island to negotiate post-crisis reconstruction and international aid. She came prepared for politics and the quiet company of an old friend. She is not, however, prepared for a ghost from her past, newly tattooed, disarmingly calm, and still far too good at getting under her skin. What begins as diplomacy slowly shifts, as old rivalries resurface in unexpected form and long-quiet parts of her begin to stir.
On Air Temple Island, tension simmers beneath shared glances, sharp words, and the unfamiliar ache of possibility. Some fires never truly die. Some just wait for air.
