Summary
Haruka was never one to have great expectations for himself. A lot of that had to change when his son came along, but he’d be lying if he tried to say that inadequacy still doesn’t have its teeth in him.
Makoto doesn’t look at him like Haruka deserves pity or he’s the perfect charity case. Haruka might be perpetually drowning, but as he sits with Makoto, hearing him laugh and watching him cradle his cheek as he listens, Haruka feels like he’s treading. He can swim a little longer.
