Chapter 1: 700 Years

Chapter Text

The sun could be seen right over the greenery of the mountains. The snow-like clouds barely covering the tip of the mountain tops.

However, the peace was shortly cut short by screams.

“It's Inuyasha!”

The men shouted as a red figure leaped into the air. The silver-haired boy teared up the surrounding him with a smirk as he glided through the wind.

He kept jumping away as the people below tried to capture him with rope, but failed to do so every time.

Inuyasha soon crashed into a small shrine. He stood up in anticipation as he gazed upon a necklace with a round pearl embedded into it.

He crept closer before ultimately snatching it from its former place. Before he could take off, the doors behind him slammed open.

Inuyasha turned around quickly as he caught sight of men blocking his exit. The same men threw spears at him, missing each shot as the Hanyou dodged.

He finally decided to jump up, breaking the ceiling and roof once again only after throwing the torches onto the ground. After he became airborne, the small shrine exploded, causing the boy to stare smugly.

He huffed before taking out the necklace from his pocket. “Finally, the way for me to become all demon at last. Heh.” He landed on stone tiling a few meters away from the shrine, showering in his victory before starting to run away.

A strong, booming voice called out to him as he jumped away again. “Inuyasha!” The woman held a bow and arrow in her hands. She pulled the arrow and fired at the silver-haired Hanyou.

As Inuyasha was leaping past a tree trunk, the arrow went through him, trapping him to the piece of wood. During the shock, Inuyasha dropped the necklace. He stared confused as he reached out for it.

He looked up, only to see a black-haired woman glaring at him whilst holding onto the very same bow.

“K-Kikyo?” Inuyasha breathed out. “H-How could… I thought…” Before the boy knew it, he passed out.

Kikyo, on the other hand, limped over to where the necklace resided. Soon enough, a little girl and an older man quickly made their way to her after she took a knee.

“Onee-sama!”

“Kikyo-sama!”

Another man went to her aid. “That wound, it--”

“--You’re hurt really badly..” The little girl frowned.

Kikyo struggled to stand up. “I forgot who I.. And now see what…” She shakily took the necklace into her hands. “All for this… The sacred Jewel which…” She groaned in pain.

“You’re in pain! Let someone…” The little girl quivered.

“I won’t feel it much longer, and so I give this to you…” She handed the necklace to the little girl. “The Shikon no Tama, which you must burn with my body.”

The girl gazed up at her older sister while Kikyo continued with her instructions. “It must not fall into the hands of those who would abuse it.” She tightened her grip around the jewel.

Though it was not in hesitancy, but rather pain.

“Onee-Sama!!” Was the last thing she heard before her hearing faded away.

A few hours passed, with the townsfolk burning her body with the jewel in her hands.

‘I shall take it with me to the other world.’

[F/N] Shimura was walking with her friend, Shouto Todoroki. They were both walking back from Junior High.

[F/N] was talking about a book that she bought and read from the public library. Shouto, on the other hand, was adamant about the facts of it.

“Shikon no what? What kind of name is that?”

“No idea, that’s just what the jewel was called.” [F/N] smiled. “It’s apparently the Jewel of the Four Souls.” The black-haired girl reached into her bag, only to pull out a small replica of the exact jewel.

“This is what it looks like!” She grinned.

Shouto dead-panned. “And you bought it?”

“The keychain was free… Coming along with the book ..”

“So you did buy it.”

[F/N] chuckled nervously. She quickly shushed him as she continued with what she was saying. “This crystal is the replica of that ancient jewel which--”

“Cool keychain, Onee-San!” A small kid yelled out to the pair as his mother chuckled at the display.

[F/N] chuckled while waving to the kid. “Thank you, Otouto!” Shouto only blinked as the kid giggled.

When the mother and son duo left, [F/N] turned back to her friend . “Anyways, as I was saying, its a replica of an ancient jewel that--”

A slightly younger girl walked up to the two with practically stars in her eyes. ”Where’d you get that cool-looking jewel from?” The girl tilted her head but smiled when she was given a location. She gave the two of them a thumbs up as [F/N] waved at her.

Shouto sighed before the pair continued on their path. However, the duel-haired teenager stopped for a moment. “Wait, isn't your birthday today?”

[F/N] nodded. “Yup! Officially 15! Make sure to get me something thoughtful!” The girl laughed as the boy blankly stared at her.

Before they could continue their conversation, a small little grade schooler ran up to them in tears. “Onee-Chan! Ani-Chan! I need help!!”

[F/N] quickly ran up to him to comfort him. “What’s wrong, Otouto?”

“I-I..” He sniffled. “I lost my cat, Buyo!”

Shouto crouched down. “Do you remember where you last saw ‘em?” The kid nodded before pointing to the general area.

“I-I remember seeing her around t-that old shrine there…”

“That shrine…”

[F/N] frowned. “Isn’t that the old shrine with the well?” She looked up to her friend. Shouto nodded.

[F/N] sighed as she stood up. “Don’t worry, Otouto! I’ll get your cat for you!”

The kid’s eyes brightened before thanking her profusely. Shouto, on the other hand, was hesitant. “Are you sure, [F/N]-Chan ? I could get there faster..”

“Yeah, but you’ll probably scare away the cat.” She smirked. Shouto sighed. “Just make sure the kid is okay, okay Shouto-Kun ?”

“Fine.”

“Thanks!” And with that, [F/N] quickly ran to the shrine and placed her bag near the door. She walked inside, looking around before slightly jumping as she heard a meow.

She looked down the stairs to see a calico cat near the sealed-off well.

[F/N] chuckled. “You must be Buyo.” She floated down the stairs as she gently held the cat in her arms. “You gave your owner quite the scare.. Let’s get you back to ‘em.”

As she was about to float back up, a scratching noise stopped her.

‘Huh?’

She looked back to the well, still hearing the noise. It started to creep her out, so she hurriedly turned around, only to shriek when she came face to face with Shouto and the kid.

“Few! You two almost scared me!!” [F/N] sighed in relief.

“Sorry, Onee-Chan…” The kid paused before he broke into a smile. “Buyo!!” The cat meowed back at the boy before jumping out of your arms.

The cat ran to the boy before he picked the cat up. [F/N] smiled while Shouto turned around to face her.

However, his face turned into horror.

“[F/N]-Chan! Look out!!”

The girl blinked before she turned around. She froze when she saw white-transparent-like ribbons flowing out of the now-opened well. [F/N]’s eyes widened.

She tried to use her Quirk to float away but that only made it easier for the ribbons to attach to her body. The next thing she knew, Shouto was screaming out her name while the boy was screaming out for her in terror.

[F/N] gasped as she was turned around, now facing the well becoming closer and closer, until she fully fell in. As the girl was falling, she felt large hands grabbing at her as she stared in shock at the woman appearing in front of her.

The woman had three pairs of long, insect-like arms and worst of all… She was topless… This caused [F/N] to gasp in fright.

As the two continued to fall, the woman sighed in pleasure. “ Alive… Oh, to be alive once more.. Already my strength returns .” [F/N] looked down and noted that the woman had no lower body, only a centipede bottom.

[F/N] gulped in terror as she looked back up at the blank look of the woman. She struggled to leave her grasp but the woman did not let go, not one bit.

You have it, don’t you ?” [F/N] was questioned as she grunted. “ Give it to me…!” [F/N] furrowed her brows as the woman tightened her grip. The woman’s tongue slipped out, slowly caressing the black-haired girl’s face.

“Eughh, what the hell is wrong with you?! Let me go!!” [F/N] slapped the woman’s grasp on her face as she pushed herself away from her. While doing so, the hand that she used to push the woman away, flashed a bright pink, blinding her right in the face.

[F/N] stared in shock at the display, noticing the woman falling further than she was before. The woman stared at her with an angered aura. “ Wretched girl, I must have the Sacred Jewel .”

While [F/N] was watching her fall deeper and deeper, she finally noticed an arm still connected to her own. She gasped as she quickly tugged it off of her, watching as that, too, started to fall.

However, the bright pink coloring hadn’t seemed to fade yet, further confusing the middle schooler.

‘Sacred Jewel’ , huh?” After she muttered that, her surroundings soon faded to a darker color. The vibrant blues turning into a muddy dark desaturated navy.

As it was happening, she soon enough realized that the ground had become solid and that she was about to fall. But before that could happen, she activated her Quirk and floated off of the ground.

She looked and squinted as she saw a bright baby-blue sky with clouds in every direction. “Uh.. Shouto-Kun! I’m alright!” She floated up the well, blatantly ignoring the severed arm a few inches away.

“Shouto-..” She paused once she finally made it out. She looked around, confused about why she was suddenly in a forest. “Uh, Shouto-Kun.. Where are you…?”

She floated onto the other side of the well, now firmly placing her feet on the grass. “Um.. I don’t think I’m in Musutafu anymore…” She frowned but calmed down when her gaze landed upon a white butterfly.

She gave a small smile but shook her head as she finally started to walk in a straight line, taking note of her surroundings. “It's so.. Green and untouched… I kind of like it .” She smiled as she looked at all the wildlife.

She took a deep breath, enjoying the unpolluted air. While doing so, she finally saw the tree that’s always behind the small shrine “Oh! The old tree!” She grinned as she kicked her feet off the ground and floated ahead.

But, her smile paused for a moment when her eyes met a boy’s body. She slowed down to a stop as she looked at him.

The boy had long, silver hair with small animal ears on top of his head. He was wearing a bright red kimono with no shoes in sight. [F/N] furrowed her eyebrows when she caught sight of an arrow sticking out of the boy’s torso.

“Who would do that..?” [F/N] frowned as she walked closer to the tree's roots. She climbed on top of them and carefully balanced on them as she approached the silver-haired boy.

But she paused when she finally took a good look at him. “Are those… Dog ears?..” She reached her hand to it and started to touch it. This went on for a few seconds before she took a deep breath and stopped.

‘They’re so soft!!’

[F/N] sighed but before she could do anything else, a group of men appeared and aimed their bow and arrows at her. [F/N] jumped as she sweat-dropped.

“Get away from there!” They shouted.

They soon fired their arrows, causing [F/N] to yelp and duck out of the way. “What the hell?!” She turned around with an angered look but paused when the men came closer.

“Eh..”

“Eh..”

[F/N] blinked in confusion as she was now in the middle of a village. She looked around as the townsfolk gossiped about her. “Um, you didn’t have to tie me up! I’m just a regular junior high student!” She reasoned.

“A girl in strange clothing…”

“Do you think she’s a foreigner?”

“You reckon it’s war?”

“Of course it is, and right in the middle of rice-planting season, too.”

“She could be a kitsune in disguise.”

A woman shook her head. “Nah. Them shape-changing foxes are a lot trickier than that.”

[F/N] sighed as he started looking at all the different people.

“I'm not really sure of that..”

‘They all have Top knots… Is this the feudal era or what?’

[F/N] exhaled but straightened up when she heard someone. “Make way for High Priestess, Kaede-Sama!” She turned around to face an old woman making her way towards her.

The women had aged white hair. Her face had wrinkled, the same as her fingers holding a bow. She was dressed in miko clothing and an eyepatch, which [F/N] hoped wasn’t gained in a gruesome way.

The Miko handed her bow, the one that she used to balance herself, to the man standing next to her, only to throw salt at [F/N].

[F/N] quickly closed her eyes as the salt fell on everything.

“Demon be gone!”

[F/N] hissed. “Hey! I’m not a demon, ma’am!!”

“Are ye sure? Then why were ye found in the forest of Inuyasha?”

The man from before stepped closer to Kaede. “She could be a spy from another village…”

The priestess waved him off. “In that case, she would be a fool.” She turned back to [F/N]. “Who would invade such a poor village as ours?” She stopped, having a stunned look on her face as she stared at the black-haired girl.

[F/N] blinked in confusion as the woman continued.

Kaede walked towards the girl before kneeling down to grab her face. “Let me have a good look at ye.” She turned [F/N]’s face side to side as the girl grew increasingly more and more annoyed.

“Look clever girl, or be ye a half-wit?”

‘Girl what??’

The woman finally let go and stood up. “It’s there, though I know not why.”

“Huh??”

Silence enveloped the two as the older woman stirred a pot of boiling food. She grabbed a bowl and poured some of it into it. Kaede lifted it up to [F/N].

“Stew?”

[F/N] blinked after soothing her wrist. She smiled as she gently took the bowl from the priestess. “Thank you. This stew looks amazing..” She nodded to her before taking a small sip from the piping hot dish.

“Bear ye no ill will, child. For though I now see ye mean us no harm in these troubled times of war, no stranger may be welcomed among us without deep distrust.”

[F/N] nodded. “I understand. I am just a random girl dressed in unfamiliar clothing compared to you all… This village sure is different from Musutafu, I can tell you that.”

‘Mu-su-ta-fu’ ? Never heard of it. Is that where your people are from?”

[F/N] chuckled slightly. “Yeah, I guess you could say that…“ She smiled sadly as she looked down at her bowl. “It’s a place where there's a lot of extraordinary people living together.” She looked up to Kaede.

“I could show you if you’d like.” She smiled widely as the woman only stared.

“Onee-Sama, please! You must!” A young Kaede begged the Miko in front of her.

Kikyo gripped the necklace in her palms. “Take the jewel, Kaede, and see that it is burned with my body.” She held it in front of both herself and the little girl.

She stayed quiet for a bit.

‘Fifty years have passed since then.’

Kaede looked ahead to the fire pit before answering the girl’s request. “If one must if ye want-” The woman was cut off by explosions happening from outside.

The two jumped into action and ran outside. “What’s going on?” The two gasped as they caught sight of a Yokai.

“Oh!”

“It’s a monster!"

[F/N]’s eyes widened at the sight of the woman again. She looked closely and realized what they were. “ That's an Oomukade !” She gasped harshly as she took a step back.

She looked up and quickly grabbed the priestess out of the way of a falling horse. “Are you okay, Kaede-Sama??” She checked the elderly woman as the priestess stared at her with a softer gaze.

“I am alright. Is ye alright as well?”

[F/N] smiled. “I’ll be fine!”

However, the demon woman interrupted their little bonding moment. “ Give me the sacred Jewel !” The Yokai flew down towards the duo and separated them.

She went back and did the same thing again. Kaede blinked for a moment before recalling what the Yokai said. “It said ‘Sacred Jewel’ . Are ye its till?” She turned towards the middle schooler with a look of shock.

“Huh? Wha- I don’t know?? I’ve only known of this jewel ‘cause of a book from a library!!”

Their attention was again returned to the demon woman, who seemed to be deflected by a man with a bow and arrow. She screeched, “ I must have it. I must !” She transformed herself into a replica of a tornado and flung the men away.

‘Just like in the well… And it only mentions it right before coming at me! I need to lure it away…’

The two uninjured men backed in front of [F/N] and Kaede. “Spears, arrows… Nothing works!”

Kaede frowned. “We must lure it to the dry well.”

The black-haired girl paused before turning to the Miko. “The dry well?”

“In the forest of Inuyasha.”

“I see… Which way is the forest again??”

The woman looked at her quizzically before answering her. “Tha-” She raised her hand to point but was accidentally cut off by the modern girl.

“The area where the rip-offs of the northern lights are coming from?” She quickly started to run off towards the forest before she heard the lady calling out to her.

[F/N] knew that the demon was following her since she was able to hear it. She tsked and used her Quirk and floated away, using her feet as a boost.

“I’ll make it follow me, so get to safety, okay??” She shouted back to the villagers as they stared in awe.

“How is it that she can see but cannot be seen in the forest of Inuyasha?”

“Is she flying-??!!”

The girl started to sweat as the drawback of her Quirk started to catch up to her. “Dammit! If I hadn’t used my Quirk all day, I wouldn’t be in this mess!... Shouto-Kun would be so disappointed…” She sighed.

She looked back and saw that the demon was starting to catch up to her. “Shit!” She looked back to the front. “C’mon! Just a little help would be nice!!”

Far into the forest, the same sliver-haired boy who was essentially chained to the truck of the old tree, started to pulse aura-like patterns. His hand twitched as his nails flexed.

He brought the hand up to his face, only to grip nothing as he stared into the distance with a glare. “I smell it… The blood of the woman who killed me, and it’s coming closer.” He went to take the arrow out but was repealed by its spiritual power.

[F/N] used the hill to her advantage and quickly pushed herself off of it as a booster while the demon still gave chase. “ The Jewel!... Give it to me !”

The 15-year-old glared at the ground as she kept floating away. “I told you already! I don’t fucking have it!!” She was flung forward as the woman crashed into the dirt behind her, sending debris everywhere.

She spun in the air before landing in front of the familiar tree from early noon. She groaned but paused when an unfamiliar voice started to berate her.

“Hello, Kikyo . Playing with bugs now, are we?”

[F/N] looked up, squinting as the boy who was previously unconscious, suddenly awake and mocking her. “You’re awake… And annoying too already… ” She muttered.

“Why you taking so long to kill it? Just do her like you did me.” He smirked. He looked down at her, glaring at the injured girl. “You look pretty dumb there, Kikyo.”

“Huh-?”

“The Kikyo I know wouldn’t waste her time.”

[F/N] huffed, annoyed by the minute. “Okay, that’s it.” She floated up to the boy, who blinked in confused shock. “Kikyo this, Kikyo that. I don’t give a flying Hawks who she is, but she isn't me! The names’ Shimura [F/N]! Or, it might soon be Todoroki by the time I’m a hero, but that doesn’t matter right now !!”

“Shut up! She’s here.”

[F/N] blinked before turning around. There, she was jumpscared by the demon woman. The girl flinched and deactivated her Quirk as she dodged the Yokai’s attempt at grabbing her again.

However, the Yokai wasn’t successful as two spears impaled her. She turned to see the village men all looking at her determinedly as they fired more.

“Good! Now pull!!” The men pulled on the spears, ultimately saving the girl.

“Oh thank god..!” [F/N] sighed in relief before it was squashed by the boy still rooted to the tree.

“You’re pathetic, Kikyo.”

“Shut up, you hairless mu-!” She stopped herself and sighed. She stood up and stared right into the boy’s eyes. “Like I said, I’m Shimura [F/N]. I am not her. I bet we don’t even look the same!!”

“And what I’m saying is that you have to be her! ‘Cause if you’re not, there’s no way that you could smell so much like-” He stopped before taking a whiff.

[F/N] glared as he started to stutter. “Y-You’re not her..”

“Well duh! I’ve been telling you! [F]-[N]!”

The silver-haired boy turned away, bashfully. “You’re right. Kikyo was cuter, way cuter.”

[F/N] tsked at his audacity. She yelped though as she felt the familiar, cold hands on her again. She grits her teeth as she grasps the boy’s bangs.

“Let go of me, you creep!!” She frowned while the other hissed in pain.

“Ow, ow, ow!! You let go!!”

While [F/N] was struggling, a man from the village gasped. “Inuyasha has been revived!”

Kaede froze. ‘How can that be? The seal should have held forever !’

The Oomukade shrilled. “ Give me the Sacred Jewel !”

Inuyasha paused for a moment, narrowing his eyes. ‘Sacred Jewel ?‘

The woman had enough and opened her mouth, revealing sharp, saber-toothed teeth. The yokai launched herself over to the black-haired girl before a bright, pink light stopped her.

[F/N]’s hand outstretched to the demon, causing it to let her go. She fell to the ground before quickly getting back up. She looked behind her only to see three more arms falling off of the Oomukade.

“That happened again, huh… Back at the well where this all began…” [F/N] looked down at her hands; the village folk gasped at the display. “Is this a Quirk? Impossible, my family isn’t genetically able to have Dual-Quirks like Shouto-Kun’s…”

Meanwhile, the side of her torso began to glow. “What the-?” While she was distracted, the demon came back, clamping her mouth in the same area the light was coming from.

The Yokai threw her into the air, causing [F/N] to yelp in pain as she was forcefully sliced open. As she started to fall, she opened her eyes only to see a round jewel falling beside her.

‘Is that the Jewel of the Four Souls? What was it doing inside of me…?’

She fell to the ground roughly after hitting the Oomukade’s lower body multiple times. The jewel rolled closer to Inuyasha while [F/N] was starting to stand up, with great difficulty.

“Give me the jewel, quick!”

[F/N] blinked confusion as she groaned. “Huh-?”

“Hurry!”

She didn’t get much time to decide before the demon’s centipede body closed in on them both. [F/N] hissed at the pain while Inuyasha stayed looking ahead.

The Oomukade loomed closer to the dup with a blank look. “ I heard some Hanyou spawn was after the Sacred Jewel. It’s you , isn’t it?” Inuyasha glared at the woman while [F/N] looked at her from the side.

‘I feel like this is an underlying tone of blatant racial discrimination…’ She deadpanned.

“Half’s all I need to kick your scaly ass. Anything more than that would be a waste of my time.”

[F/N] sighed. “Okay, buddy. Enough with the useless yapping. You’re thinking ‘Go big or go home’ but now is not the time for that!!”

Inuyasha blinked. “Huh?”

“What I’m trying to say is, think shit thoroughly!! Back up your shit talking!!”

The Hanyou thought while the Oomukade smirked. “ What can he do, pinned there like that, or you for that matter? You’re powerless to stop me .” The demon leaned down to where the jewel sat.

You’re helpless, the both of you !” She laughed before swallowing the jewel whole.

Inuyasha became outraged at that, struggling in his predicament. “Don’t you dare!”

“It swallowed the jewel!”

“Lady Kaede, what shall we do??”

While they were all freaking out, the Yokai’s limbs started to float towards the areas they were severed and reattached themselves.

“It’s arms…” [F/N] tsked.

The Oomukade’s body started to show signs of myoclonus before eventually having her skin peel off. Under it, it revealed a desaturated purple with pink blobs. Her face became monstrous as she sighed. “ At last, my power is complete .”

She tightened the grip her lower body had on the tree where the trapped duo were in. [F/N] grunted in pain, “She’s going to crush us both if we don’t… Get out!!”

The girl tightened her grip on the boy’s outfit as Inuyasha only looked at the woman. “Hey, can you pull this out?” He asked, referring to the arrow in his chest.

[F/N] looked up in confusion before she realized. “I might-.. Be able to..” She reached up her arm, slowly as she still felt pain.

Kaede leaped from her horse as she walked forward. “Nay, child. Once the arrow is removed, then Inuyasha will be free to destroy us all!”

“Don’t be stupid, you old hag! At least with me, you’ve got a chance, whereas that thing is gonna eat you!” He shouted, referring to the mutating demon.

Inuyasha looked down at the struggling girl. “And what about you? Are you ready to die yet?”

[F/N] paused before looking up at the Hanyou. “No… I.” She grabbed the arrow tightly. “I chose to..” She quickly pulled it out, shouting.

“I chose to be a hero!!”

A bright pink light blinded everyone, including the boy it was trapping. The arrow vanished, causing the Miko anguish.

“It’s gone, my sister’s spell banished!”

The light soon disappeared after it surrounded Inuyasha. A pulsing sensation could be heard and felt as [F/N] looked up in confusion. “Um… Inuyasha?...”

After a few seconds, the boy started to chuckle. Then, it turned into maniacal laughter. The Oomukade looked at the boy with her new form. The Yokai seemed to glare before she used her lower body to slam against the two in the tree.

Seconds later, Inuyasha burst out of it, causing [F/N] to fall to the ground thanks to the force. She grunted as she landed harshly, looking up to see the Hanyou leaping over the demon.

Wicked child .”

Inuyasha smirked as he shot an attack at the woman. “Nasty hag!”

The two launched at each other, pulling their own attacks. The Oomukade screeched while Inuyasha grinned.

“Iron-Reaver Soul-Stealer!!”

His nails elongated before they tore right through the woman’s entire body, starting with her face and ending with her centipede body. Inuyasha smirked at his deed before landing on the ground just in time to see the damage he had done.

[F/N] blinked in shock as she looked around. “Holy… This is some Pro-Hero level…” She flinched as one of the centipede pieces started to twitch.

She jumped back, “Oh, Jesus!! Why’s it still moving??” She looked behind her to see Kaede and the rest of the men.

“Find the glowing flesh, quickly! That’s where the jewel will be. It must be removed at once, lest the flesh of Mukade Joro revive.”

“There’s no way! That’s crazy!!” [F/N] shivered before looking around frantically. That’s when she gasped in relief at a shine coming from one of the pieces of the woman.

She pointed towards it as the men closed in on it. “There! It’s that one!” As it was sliced open, Kaede approached it before taking out the Jewel. Right as she inspected it, the body of Mudake Joro turned to ash.

The priestess cleared her throat before turning to the middle schooler. [F/N] blinked in confusion before being handed the jewel. “Huh? But- Isn’t this yours?”

Kaede shook her head. “Only ye may possess the Sacred Jewel…” She frowned.

‘Ye who so resemble the dead Kikyo Onee-Sama.’

“All I’m wondering is how it got inside of me… Surely the doctors would’ve seen it with their X-rays…” [F/N] sighed. She looked at the older woman with a soft look. “Why would these demons want this jewel so badly anyway…?”

Their conversation was cut short by the sound of the remaining bones being crushed. The two turned only to see Inuyasha staring at them with a glare.

“Exactly. Humans can’t use it, so why bother to keep it? If you hand over the jewel right now, I won’t have to start sharpening my claws on you.” He threatened.

“And here I thought you were an ally.” [F/N] glared back, tsking as she hid the jewel in her skirt pocket.

Inuyasha scoffed as the village men surrounded him.

Kaede, who was in front of the teenager, pushed her back further with her arm. “Pay no heed to Inuyasha, child.”

[F/N] frowned as her side started to glow. ‘Since this jewel can make demons more powerful, it’s of high value…’ She furrowed her eyebrows before looking away.

‘Dammit! If only I’d finished the book!!’ She cried in her mind.

“I hate having to wait.” [F/N] turned back to the Hanyou, placing a protective hand on top of her pocket. “And I hate the smell of you.”

Inuyasha placed a foot forward before leaping into a full-on sprint towards the girls. [F/N] glared before turning around to run. She smirked before jumping into the air, activating her Quirk.

While doing so, Inuyasha missed his attack on her. She landed on her feet while the Hanyou skitted to a stop. “Want me to scratch your back?” He cracked his wrist as he flexed his nails.

“That’s some villain-type behavior! Attack a defenseless, lowly middle schooler for the fun of it, only to want to kill them. That’s not very sigma.” The girl mocked.

Inuyasha froze for a moment. “Wha-?”

That’s when the men from the village started to shout.

“Shoot him! Quickly!”

“Shoot him!”

Inuyasha turned around to block the incoming arrows before rushing toward the crowd of men. He flexed his nails before slicing the trees around them.

The trees started to fall on top of them before they started to scramble around screaming. The men barely dodged the falling debris as Inuyasha landed on a stump. He scoffed, “Who do you people think I am? You think you can hurt me like I did that centipede?”

One of the men fearfully spoke to the priestess, “Kaede-Sama, methinks mayhap that we- might have.. chanced the centipede.” He quivered.

Kaede sighed. “Somehow I knew that it would eventually come to this.” She reached into her chihaya and pulled out a bead necklace.

While all of this was happening, [F/N] was already ahead, running. She panted as she felt slightly nauseous. “Thank Natsou for that… God, my stomach… ” She grumbled.

Inuyasha started to close in on her, jumping from tree to tree. “Prepare yourself!”

“For what? National Dog Day??” She looked back only to flinch at the approaching figure of the Hanyou. He slashed at the air above [F/N] as she luckily dodged at the last second.

She grunted as she landed on her face. She quickly stood up, checking her pocket before cursing. She looked around, only to gasp as the jewel rolled away from her.

As she was going to reach for it, she turned around only to wish she hadn’t. “Wha-?! Thank god he missed..” She gulped as behind her, were three identical slashes that thickened the further they went along the ground.

Inuyasha smirked as he used a tree as leverage and jumped off of it. “Now, It’s mine!” As he was still in the air, Kade was performing a ritual.

While doing so, dozens of small projectiles of the same pink glow shot forward to the silver-haired boy. They all gathered around his neck, confusing the Hanyou.

“Huh?”

He landed a little ahead of the jewel, distracted by the necklace now around his neck. “What the hell are these?”

[F/N] looked up, lost on what was happening. But she jumped when Kaede shouted towards her. “Quickly, child! The word of subjugation!”

[F/N] blinked. “ ‘Sub’ - wha??” She looked away from her and back to the jewel and Inuyasha. She reached for the jewel while Kaede continued with her instructions.

“It matters not what kind. Your word has power to hold his spirit.” [F/N] clasped onto the jewel. She launched herself into the air and floated across the cliff. She descended down but tripped on the rounded rocks on the floor.

“Dammit! What is this, plot convenience??” She quickly got back up as the jewel rolled over to a bridge. She ran towards it while Inuyasha leaped from above.

“Ha! How can you overpower me when you can’t even stand up straight?”

She tsked. ‘A word to hold his spirit… But how…’ She looked up at him before gasping in realization. “Of course!”

“Oh thank god..!” [F/N] sighed in relief before it was squashed by the boy still rooted to the tree.

“You’re pathetic, Kikyo.”

Shut up, you hairless mu- !” She stopped herself and sighed. She stood up and stared right into the boy’s eyes. “Like I said, I’m Shimura [F/N]. I am not her. I bet we don’t even look the same!!”

“That’s right!” She smirked while the Hanyou landed on the other side of the bridge. He knelt down and placed his hand in front of the still-rolling jewel.

“Sit, boy!”

This word caused the necklace around the boy’s neck to glow. It seemed like it pulled him down, shocking both him and the girl. He yelped in pain as the jewel rolled to a stop.

Both the shout and the grunt of pain echoed through the night as [F/N] blinked multiple times. She shook her head as she quickly walked over to the boy and jewel.

“Huh.. Just like a dog…”

Inuyasha sprung up as he started to tug at the beads. “What the hell is this thing??” He tried to pull it off but some force stopped him. He strained as the beads continued to flash.

“I’m sorry, Inuyasha, but even you lack the power to remove it.”

The boy scoffed. “We’ll see about that!” He pointed up to the old woman with a glare. “I’d come up there and finish you off, if you didn’t look half-dead already!”

[F/N] gasped, offended on the priestess's behalf while Kaede only simply had her eyes closed. “The word, please.”

“Gladly. Sit, boy.” The black-haired girl smirked.

The Hanyou slammed into the bridge as it finally gave out under the pressure. Inuyasha screamed before he fell into the water below. [F/N] blinked, deciding that using her Quirk was probably best if she didn’t want the same fate.

She floated above the bridge, grabbed the jewel, and floated back up to where the village folk were on. Kaede smiled at the girl before saying, “Well then, shall we head home?”

“That was kinda easy, now that Inuyasha has that necklace…”

[F/N] made her way back to Kaede’s hut, to which the Miko bandaged her up. “How’s that? Perhaps I’ll put more unguent on your belly.”

[F/N] groaned in slight pain as the priestess tightened the cloth around her midriff. She looked up to the woman before frowning. “Why won't you guys let me help? It was my fault that Mudake Joro almost destroyed your home… At least let me help in bringing supplies! My Quirk could be of use to you guys!”

“Ney, child. Rest easy. Now that the sacred Shikon no Tama is back among us, far worse than Mudake Joro will come to claim it.”

“Worse, huh…”

Kaede nodded. “And not just demons. There are humans whose hearts are more evil, still. And only the jewel has the power to make real their petty, grasping ambitions.”

[F/N] nodded. She sweat-dropped a little as she thought of her guardian. Or, more like ‘Father-in-Law’ . She shivered in disgust before looking ahead of the two.

“Speaking of which, what are you still doing here?” She glared at the form of Inuyasha, was was lying on his side, facing away from them.

The boy only turned his head with a nonchalant tone. “I’m waiting for the jewel.” He looked away with a glare while Kaede shook her head.

“With the beads around his neck, his threat is diminished. It is perhaps the only way we can allow him so close to the jewel.”

[F/N] tilted her head at the boy after hearing the Miko’s previous words. “Why’d you want the jewel anyway? Aren’t you already strong?” She looked at the jewel in her hand before looking back to the boy. “What stats haven’t you unlocked yet??”

Kaede stood up, looking at them both. “Ah, but he’s just half-demon.” [F/N] flinched as both she and the woman heard Inuyasha break the flooring with his fist.

“You know what? I’m sick of hearing some dried-up witch I just met talk like she knows me.” He grit his teeth while the woman sighs.

“So ye don’t remember. I thought as much.” She walked away from the two, explaining who she is, or was. “I’m younger sister to Kikyo, she who bound ye to the tree, Kaede.” She sat at the edge of her home as Inuyasha stared at her in disbelief.

You’re Kaede?”

The boy stared at her for a moment before replying. “ So you’re the brat, huh ?”

Kaede looked back at the boy. “Fifty years have passed and I have grown old.” She explained.

Inuyasha scratched his face, thinking. “If you’re this old, Kikyo must be pushing 100. I’m sure glad I don’t gotta worry about being old. ‘Least not for a while.”

[F/N] looked at him with envy. ‘Lucky…’

“Kikyo didn’t worry, either. Kikyo died.” Kaede revealed, fixing the firewood.

Inuyasha slowly opened his eyes to her words while the woman continued. “It was on the same day she shot ye with the arrow.”

The Hanyou smirked. “Gee, sorry to hear it. Not that I really care or nothing.”

[F/N] looked at him after he said this, noting something. ‘His voice got deeper… There was definitely something going on here…

The boy turned away, going back to his previous position. “It’s one less thing for me to worry about.”

“I wouldn’t let my guard down just yet, Inuyasha.” Kaede turned around to face the two with a knowing look. “I now know that [F/N] is the reincarnation of my sister.”

The middle schooler blinked in surprise. “What?”

“And it isn’t just because ye resemble her.”

“The Jewel of Four Souls was in your body. That alone is proof enough.”

Meanwhile, the side of her torso began to glow. “What the-?” While she was distracted, the demon came back, clamping her mouth in the same area the light was coming from.

“It’s up to ye now, child, to take over its protection.”

[F/N] had tried to offer her help to reconstruct the destroyed houses, but was shrugged off and handed fruit. She blinked as they shooed her away to enjoy the day.

She sighed as she gently caressed the jewel around her neck. ‘Me? Protecting this?? I can’t do that… Especially with training…’ She frowned and let the jewel dangle around her.

She resumed her walking along the stream but paused when she saw the townsfolk all bowing to her. She flinched and quickly continued on her way. “I gotta get home..” She blushed.

Meanwhile, Inuyasha was looking across the field as he sat on top of a tree branch. “She died and I never knew.” He frowned. While he was thinking, he caught a finger about to poke at him.

He glared in that direction, only to blink in confusion at the sight of the black-haired girl from earlier, floating next to him, holding some fruit.

“Do you want to eat some?” [F/N] asked.

Inuyasha looked at all the different types of food and supplies the girl had and tilted his head. “Where’d you get all that stuff from?”

[F/N] smiled. “The villagers gave them to me. Let’s get down from here so we can eat. I’m starving, that's for sure.” She smiled. She floated down onto the grass and took out a pear.

She bit into it after setting down the produce. Inuyasha jumped from the branch and landed on the ground next to her. He stared at her eating, glaring.

“Whatever you’re up to, I ain’t buying it.”

[F/N] raised a brow. “Buying what?” She chewed before finishing her bite. “Listen, it’s fair to say you don’t like me, right?” She looked at the boy with a dead-pan.

“Wayyyyyyy more than fair.” He spat after chewing on a white radish.

The girl sighed. “Whatever. It’s not even me you dislike. It’s the Kikyo girl that you do.” She looked at the boy as he discarded the vegetable before leaping back into the tree.

She sighed, grabbing the radish and floating up to hand it to the boy. “Look, like I said last night, I’m not Kikyo. I’m [F/N]. Why not get along?” She threw the radish onto the boy’s side.

He glared at her before jumping up. “Hah! I knew it!” He pointed at her with the partially chewed radish. “What you don’t get is that I’m only after the jewel! You’re just trying to lure me into a false sense of security!”

“Really now? Now why would someone wanting to be a hero want to break someone’s trust? It’s funny because all I have to do for that to happen is to say the word ‘Sit’ and you go down-”

She was cut off by the boy falling onto his face.

She breathed in harshly before descending down to the floor. She crouched next to the boy. “Sorryyyy, Inuyasha…” She pats his back.

The boy grumbled as he shakily looked up. “Oh, man…” He frowned.

As nightfall fell, [F/N] and Kaede were lying beside the fire inside the latter’s home. The black-haired girl stared up at the ceiling, thinking.

“It’s been two whole days since I’ve been here… Thank god the entrance exam is in ten months…” She turned to her side somberly. “Still… Shouto-Kun, Fuyumi-Chan, and Natsou-San must be worried…” She sighed.

She closed her eyes, frowning. ‘There has to be a way I can get back to that damn well without being ambushed… Thanks, Kaede-Sama for making me paranoid .’ She cried sarcastically.

Soon enough, daytime came. However, a couple of hours before that, [F/N] had awakened. She walked up the hill and looked back towards the village.

“Sorry, Kaede-Sama. But, I have to get home.” She turned back and continued walking in the direction of Inuyasha’s forest. While so, she was oblivious to the worried shouts of the townspeople.

[F/N] hummed a song while walking through the forest. She dodged the branches in her way as she continued. She stopped when she finally saw the well and sighed in relief.

“Oh, thank All Might. I found it.” She smiled. “If I came out of the well in the first place, then it’ll take me back.” She observed. As she was about to approach it, she was ambushed.

She yelped as men surrounded her. They took ahold of her, though through great struggle as she fought back.

She struggled through her bindings as one of the men pushed her head onto the ground, harshly. They all chuckled as one of them turned ahead. “Hey, boss! We caught the girl just like you said we should!”

A bigger fella laughed. “Her kimono’s longer than mine.” He then turned to [F/N]. “You gonna catch a cold if you don’t dress longer.” He tugged at the girl’s skirt.

[F/N] frowned. ‘Thank god it reaches my knees or I swear I’ll die of embarrassment…’ She looked up and harshly stared at them all. “Careful, that’s an expensive uniform! It costs more than my life!!” She screeched.

The men chuckled. “You afraid our hands too dirty for ya, princess?”

“Marry me and I’ll buy you a new one.”

The girl backed away with a scowl. “I doubt you could even afford a replacement.”

“Hand over the jewel, right now.”

A deep voice cut through their conversation. [F/N] looked over and lightly gasped at the man’s pale skin. The man stood up, laughing maliciously. He walked over to the girl, slightly swaying as he did.

The tall man then unsheathed his katana from the saya where his obi resided. When the underlings saw this, they quickly grabbed onto the girl with smirks.

“Watch where you put your hands!!” She shouted at the two men.

They laughed instead of feeling threatened. “Hey, boss, try taking it off in one swing like a dandelion.” [F/N] started to struggle to get away as the taller man raised his katana blade.

“Stop squirming!”

“No!”

The man who yelled at her was then struck with the blade. [F/N] and the other henchman shouted in surprise and fear at the show.

“What’d you do that for?” He stuttered as he finally lay dead on the floor.

The rest of the underlings stared in horror at the display. Soon enough, their boss started to walk closer to them with a blank smirk. “Whoopsie.” He chuckled.

[F/N] glared before quickly dodging another attack her way. “Go, go, go!” She urged the rest of the party to run. The boss kept attacking them, swinging without a care in the world.

The girl tsked, looking around as debris started to fall around them. She yelped as she was once again grabbed.

“Boss! Boss! Where are you aiming??” They cried. “She’s who you want!” They pushed the middle schooler with fearful expressions.

[F/N] gulped. “Hold on! Can’t you see something is going on with your boss?? He seems sickly! I mean, look at his skin!! It isn’t healthy!!” She smacked the men in the heads and glared. “If you guys don’t lock in, then we’ll all die in here!”

The men blinked at her before looking behind her. Fearfully, they lowered their bodies while [F/N] thankfully got the hint at the last second. Because of that, the sword barely missed her head.

That’s when they all started to run in different directions, screaming at the top of their lungs.

‘I hate Feudal Japan!!’

While running, the only person the boss targeted was the modern girl. [F/N] ran around while the man slashed all around him in trying to hit her. While doing so, he blocked the only exit up with falling debris from the ceiling.

The henchmen who were heading towards it quickly fell back to not get hurt. [F/N] gasped and quickly ran to their aid. She crouched down and lifted up the piller trapping one of the men.

Another guy helped the man out while [F/N] let the object fall afterward.

“We gotta go around. It’s blocked!”

The girl turned around and started to check the man for injuries. “You can stand, right? Nothing hurting? Any bruises??” She frowned.

“Thank you for saving my life, ma’am..”

They all turned around to see their former boss standing in the middle of the room.

“I want the jewel. Give it to me.”

[F/N] glared.

‘All this for the damn, stupid jewel… I have to get it back to modern Japan..’

Kaede nodded. “And not just demons. There are humans whose hearts are more evil, still. And only the jewel has the power to make real their petty, grasping ambitions.”

“Dammit, I should’ve taken it more seriously.” She glared as she and the men silently scooted to the side. But the boss still took notice of them. They paused for a moment before continuing. However, the men didn’t really catch the hint and screamed as they hid behind the girl.

[F/N] dead-panned at the group as they all nervously chuckled. Though they all scream, including [F/N], in fear as the boss goes to attack them once again.

They quickly scatter as the attack hits the wall behind them. [F/N] turns to look and jolts in realization. Her eyes trail to the jewel around her neck. “He’ll go after the jewel, no matter what… ” She smirked deviously.

She turned to the group with a grin. “You guys go hide, I got this.” The confused underlings stared at her as she ripped the jewel off of her neck and threw it outside the building.

The boss in front of them looked over in the direction of which it went, seemingly in a daze.

“The jewel, give it to me.”

She nodded and turned around to the group. She pointed to the wall the boss had previously attacked with a determined look in her eyes.

“Push the wall out, go!” She ordered as she joined in. The men nodded and followed her directions. They all rammed their shoulders into the wall, watching as it crumbled under all their weight.

“It’s no good boss!”

“I’m not your boss! And keep pushing!” She turned around but gasped when the previous boss swung at her. She grit her teeth and went to dodge but paused when she heard the blade break.

She looked up and blinked at the sight of Inuyasha in front of her. The silver-haired Hanyou kicked and punched the boss’s face until the man fell to the ground.

Inuyasha landed on the ground gracefully, before turning to the girl. The men all ran to the new opening, not before thanking the black-haired girl.

“Thanks, boss! We’re out of here now!”

[F/N] waved at them, avoiding the boy’s gaze from behind her. Once they left, she turned around to look at the boy who was now looking at the fallen form of the pale man.

“You actually came. Wow, that’s a shocker.”

Inuyasha ignored her sarcasm. “Is it safe? Where’s the jewel?”

Ah !”

He flinched. “Ah-, no! Tell me you did not just say that!”

The girl smiled sheepishly before quickly running to the old entrance. The boy went to follow her but froze as a scent came to his nose. He blocked it as he turned around, now seeing the taller man standing up.

“What is that smell?? It’s like rotting meat or-” His eyes widened as a whole crow head appeared in the man’s torso. [F/N], hearing him, turned around and jumped a bit.

“What the hell is that?!” She screeched.

“How much you wanna bet that bird ripped his living heart out and made itself a bloody nest?”

[F/N] frowned. “That explains the pale appearance… This man’s a living Slappy the Puppet.”

Inuyasha stared at her for a moment, confused, but shrugged it off. “Shibugarasu crows don’t fight on their own when there’s dead bodies handy.” He crouched down. “They ain’t so tough. But they’re hella annoying!” He leaped at the man with his hand thrusting into the man’s chest.

Since the boy targeted the hole, this caused Shibugarasu to be pushed out. It fled over [F/N]’s head as the Hanyou landed on the floor. The dead man slowly fell to the ground, turning to bone as Inuyasha stood up.

[F/N] glared at the crow, quickly following after it. “C’mon Inuyasha, the damn crow’s getting away!!”

The boy sighed. “This world’s full of monsters. You want I go after ‘em all?”

“Uh, maybe just this one right now??” [F/N] blinked rapidly.

“Shuddup! You want to start doing the fighting? Be my guest.” [F/N] rolled her eyes before finally poking out of the rubble to the other side. Inuyasha joined her after a few seconds and pulled her out.

“In the meantime, where’s the jew-!” He screeched as the two saw the damn crow carrying the jewel in its beak. “That stupid crow is making off with the jewel!” He turned to the girl with a furious look.

“What’s wrong with you??!”

[F/N] glared. “What do you mean, ‘What’s wrong with you’ ??! Go after it!!” She shouted at him. The boy growled before grabbing her wrist.

“Come on!” He ran, dragging the girl behind him. [F/N] frowned before activating her Quirk for it to be easier. But she flew above him thanks to the sudden stop Inuyasha made.

“Woah! Watch it!” She looked down at the boy, blinking at his distracted face. She looked over to where his head was facing and tilted her head.

“Oh! Arrows! That’ll come in handy!!” She deactivated her Quirk and ran to the horses after tugging her hand free. She grabbed the bow and the arrows and quickly ran back to the boy.

“Let’s go!” She ran ahead while the boy sighed, following afterward. [F/N] launched herself into the air before Inuyasha snatched her.

She looked down at the boy’s back, confused. “Huh?”

“Come on!” He ran faster.

The girl nodded and held onto the boy’s red robe. The boy leaped from tree to tree, chasing after the bird. [F/N] narrowed her eyes as she grabbed the bow.

Inuyasha, still staring ahead, wasn’t aware of her plan at the moment. “Well, aren’t you gonna shoot at it?!”

“Shut it!” She huffed before taking out an arrow and lined it up with the bow. She closed one of her eyes as she aimed it at the animal. She pulled the arrow back before releasing it.

She missed but that was enough of a scare for the bird to swallow the jewel. “Shit! The crow swallowed it!”

“WHAT?!”

“Dammit!! Go faster!” She shouted at the Hanyou. The boy rolled his eyes but did as so.

‘After she takes out the crow, it’s her turn.’

“Kikyo was a master archer. Take it in one shot!”

[F/N] sighed. “Way to put the pressure on me!” She looked up before shouting, “The name’s [F/N], in case you forgot!”

As they got closer, [F/N] carefully stood up on his back. She jumped into the air, activating her Quirk before aiming the arrow again. She released it again, but once again missed as the bird flew downward.

She tsked and floated back down as Inuyasha fell to the ground face-first. “You damn klutz!”

“What?! It’s not my fault that the fucking bird dodged it!! I’m not a klutz! I doubt you know how to fire an arrow.” She then pointed to herself. “Luckily for me, I know how to! I literally took classes on how to!!”

The two turned to the bird in the sky as it got bigger.

“Look how it’s evolving?”

[F/N] frowned. “Just like a Pokémon…” She sighed. “Though it’s not even on their level…”

“The hell’s a Pokémon??”

“Nothing.”

The two took off again, making sure to get as close as possible to the avian. [F/N] fired another arrow, this time only scratching it. She cursed as Inuyasha scoffed.

As the girl floated down, the boy turned to her, angered. “I don’t care what the old lady says! You! Are not! Kikyo! You got that??” He turned away, ready to leave. “I am so out of here!”

“You damn jerk!”

The girl ran through the forest where the sounds of screaming could be heard. She inhaled sharply as she forced her body to go faster.  She made it to the dock and quickly launched herself into the air and floated over to the bridge where the townsfolk gathered.

She came to a stop at the railing, yelling out to the Hanyou running along the trees.

“Inuyasha, no! You’ll injure the kid!”

“Shut up!” He jumped down to the edge of the river and jumped back up. He raised his hand as he shouted.

“Iron-Reaver Soul-Stealer!”

His attack hit the bird, which ultimately saved the boy. But, he fell into the water, scaring the village folk. [F/N] tsked as she hurriedly took off her shoes and threw herself into the water.

Inuyasha skitted to a stop, looking around the water. “Where is it? Where’s the jewel??” He looked around before his gaze went up to the girl swimming past him.

He blinked and watched the girl get closer to the little boy.

[F/N] got closer and closer before she had her hands on the boy. She smiled as she used the momentum of the currents to launch herself out of it with the help of her Quirk.

“Woah..”

“How is she able to do that?”

“She’s a water imp, I tell ya! A Kappa!! She’s not human at all!”

“But can’t she fly?”

“That’s not Kappa behavior…”

She flew over the stream and landed softly on the ground, where the boy’s mother ran to them. She hugged the boy closely to her as [F/N] smiled sadly.

“Save the jewel, stupid! The jewel!” Inuyasha shouted.

[F/N] irked before turning around. “Who cares!!? I’m more worried about the boy here!” She glared and turned around to ignore him.

Inuyasha sputtered at the girl’s behavior. “Hu- Wha- A!”

She looked down at the boy, who was tugging at her skirt. She smiled as the boy looked up at her with stars in his eyes. “Thanks for saving me.”

The mother nodded as she bowed. “Thank you, thank you! Thank you!!”

“It’s fine.” She chuckled. “It’s what a hero would do anyway.” She smiled.

That’s when they all flinched as a splash was heard from the water. [F/N] quickly turned around and glared. Inuyasha then shouted across the river, pointing towards the fleeing bird.

“Hey, it’s getting away!!”

“I see that!” She frowned but almost snapped her neck when she heard the boy squirming in fright. She turned him around and saw that the bird’s talons were gripping the boy.

She smirked before facing one of the men. “Hey, I need your bow and one arrow, is that okay?”

The man nodded. “Sure.”

[F/N] grabbed the arrow first and carefully pried the foot off of the boy. She looked around for something to tie it but didn't, so that’s when she decided to rip the lower part of her skirt.

She tied both the arrow and foot together before she finally grabbed the bow from the man. She aimed the bow carefully before releasing it once more. She held her breath as the arrow didn’t seem to lose momentum.

It got closer and closer before hitting the bird right in the chest.

She jumped up in joy at that, happy to have finally hit the damn, stupid bird.

“Woo!!”

The rest of the villagers joined her, but they all stopped when the glowing of the jewel didn’t seize. Then, they all blinked in shock as small projectiles shot across the sky in every direction.

This is when the priestess finally joined them.

“Kaede-Sama, those lights!” One of the men pointed above as the woman stared, deeply disturbed.

“Oh, my. And I like not the looks of it.”

Both Inuyasha and [F/N] traveled through the forest, looking around for where the lights landed. It had turned into the evening, as they looked for several hours.

“Are you sure it fell around here?” The boy asked the black-haired girl.

[F/N] nodded. “I’m positive one of them did. Still, aren’t you also worried about that little meteor shower?” The two heard rustling and turned, only for [F/N] to jump in fright as the head of the Shibugarasu launched at them.

That's when Inuyasha decided to jump in, slashing at the head. Thankfully, the head got destroyed, but something fell out of it.

The girl worriedly crouched down towards it and gasped in horror. “Oh no! Is that-?!”

“What is it then..” The boy looked at her.

She grabbed the shard and held it close to her face. She inspected it before frowning. “I think it’s a piece of the jewel.”

The silver-haired boy froze.

“What- What did you say??!!”

Chapter 2: Hair

Chapter Text

“I cannot fucking believe this!!”

[F/N] shook her head after resurfacing from the water. “It must suck that you guys barely know the wonders of a bath.” She floated around the water, shivering.

“Damn, it’s cold…”

She lowered herself into the water again as Kaede watched from the side, drying the girl’s clothing. “Come, child. You’ll get sick if you don’t get out.”

The black-haired girl shook her head. “No! I feel dirty just walking around without a shower.” She dove into the water completely and swam around.

Kaede sighed.

Meanwhile, Inuyasha watched from above, resting on a tree.

[F/N] stayed silent, obviously, as she swam. She passed by all sorts of fish while thinking.

‘The fictional Jewel of Four Souls.’

The girl held the shard of the now-shattered jewel in her hand. She inspected it closely while Inuyasha yelled at her.

“What did you do to it?!

Kaede shook her head. “Stop barking, Inuyasha.”

The silver-haired Hanyou sneered. “Leave it to her to wind up breaking it!”

“Technically, it wasn’t [F/N] who broke it but the crow’s foot she attached to her arrow that actually caused it.” She defended. “As ye saw, the jewel has now been scattered into many different pieces. One hundred, one thousand, who knows? Yet however many shards there may be, all it takes is one in the wrong hands to bring disaster.”

The fire shone more brightly as [F/N] thoughtfully hummed. “I’m really sorry, Kaede-Sama.. It really is my fault for this all happening…”

The woman shook her head, “It is not ye’s fault this has happened. Therefore, ye and Inuyasha must work together to be able to recover the shards of the jewel.” She explained.

Inuyasha glared while [F/N] jumped in surprise.

“What?”

“Hmhp! You won’t catch me complaining. I’m one of the wrong hands you were talking about.”

Kaede nodded. “Oh, aye, that I know too well.”

[F/N] frowned. ‘I still need to get home, though… Enji is gonna be pissed ..’

‘Even if I get back somehow with people coming after me, I still have to face the ones back in Musutafu if they ever learn…’

She frowned. ‘How is Inuyasha supposed to help anyway if I’m back in my own time? That stupid dog only cares about the jewel, so I doubt he’d even try and help me !’

She surfaced again, sighing. She turned around and started to head back to the priestess. She paused though, slowly looking up to see the Hanyou, looking at her bare body.

She deadpanned while the boy blinked. She sighed, shook her head, and uttered a specific phrase.

Sit .”

The beads around Inuyasha’s neck started to glow before they dragged him down to where Kaede was sitting. The boy groaned in pain while the old woman simply cast a glance at the boy.

“Thee all right, Inuyasha?”

The boy raised his head as he gripped the still-glowing piece of jewelry. “Oh, man. I forgot about this stupid necklace of yours.”

[F/N], who was changing behind a bush, scoffed. “That’s what one gets for spying on someone who's vulnerable.”

Inuyasha groaned, looking already pissed at the girl. He scoffed and turned away. “Ha! Shows what you know. The reason I really came was to-”

Kaede turned around, cutting the boy off. “Ye really came to steal this shard, correct?” She showed the broken piece to the boy.

The silver-haired boy sat up and had his back to her in displeasure. “Think you’re pretty smart, you old hag .”

The older woman turned away as well, hiding the shard away. “I see. Ye think to do it alone, do ye?” She sighed. “Ye forgot only yon girl can find those shards, while only ye, Inuyasha, have strength enough to take them once found.”

The boy grumbled. “In case you haven’t noticed, I’m still here, ain’t I? I can put up with anything for the jewel.” He turned to face her, only to look up in surprise as the middle schooler walked up.

Wow , such hatred.” [F/N] frowned. She was dressed in the traditional clothing of a Miko, sighing.

“Huh?”

The boy frowned.

‘Kikyo.’

[F/N], on the other hand, oblivious to his inner scuffle, shook her clothes dry. Kaede, sensing a glare, turned around to see Inuyasha staring at the girl, distastefully.

She sighed, “And what ails ye now, Inuyasha?” The boy scooted away, not answering nor taking his eyes away. [F/N] sighed and paid no mind.

Though both her and Kaede’s attention shifted to a mother coming out of the bushes nearby.

“Kaede-Sama?”

The woman hummed. “It’s my daughter.”

[F/N] and Inuyasha watched as the mother explained everything to the priestess. “I see. Let’s head back.” She turned to the duo with a stern expression. “I’ll be checking on ye two later. Try not to fight.”

She walked away while the mother bowed and followed soon after.

That’s when the Hanyou turned to the girl. “Hey.”

“What now?” She turned back to him.

“Get undressed-”

[F/N] face turned to disgust. “Brother, what.” She started to float before she kicked her feet in the direction of where she wanted to go after grabbing her clothing. “Oh, nah. You not bout’a clock mine!” She mocked.

Inuyasha stayed in his place, confused.

“Bye-bye!”

“Wait, stupid!! The jewel shard!!”

“It must’ve been because of this Kikyo girl.” [F/N] sighed. “All because I apparently look like her. I really wanted to doubt that .” She frowned.

She walked through the familiar forest before finally arriving at the dry well. She smiled and rushed forward.

“Oh, how happy I am to see you!” She sighed in relief. She placed her clothing on the side and stared into the well. She froze though, when she saw the bones of Mudake Joro.

She gulped and backed off a little.

“Wow. Did not expect to see that..”

“We call it the Bone-Eater’s Well. It’s a resting place for the bodies of monsters, though the flesh of those bodies disappears quickly enough.”

“Must be her bones… Creepy…” She looked down at it again, gulping. “I have to though… I have to get home, now.”

She turned around just in time to see a leaf get sliced in half while still in mid-air.

She narrowed her eyes at it, before looking around. Unluckily, she was sliced in the cheek by something thin. She hissed and placed a hand on her face to soothe the pain as she frantically looked around.

She tsked as she finally saw what had attacked her. “Hair.. And they’re everywhere.”

“Oh, my! Oh, me~! You can see it then.”

[F/N] looked up, only to see a woman dressed in skimpy clothing. She glared at the shoeless girl.

“My net of hairs, I mean. Pity, because seeing’s not enough.”

The middle schooler scoffed. “Who’re you?”

The girl in the air snickered. She flexed her wrist as she continued to look at the black-haired girl. “How do you do? I’m Yura of the hair, though you needn’t bother to remember.”

[F/N] raised an eyebrow.

Yura smirked before she raised her opposite hand into the air. “Because you’ll be dead soon!” She flicked three strands of hair at her, whipping them.

This caused [F/N] to get spooked as she walked backward to avoid the pain.

The Yokai smirked. “I’ll be having the jewel, if you don’t mind.” A single hair wrapped around the little bag in [F/N]’s top and launched it towards herself.

“Hey!”

Yura blinked as she took out the single shard. She looked confused while [F/N] glared. She frowned, “Oh! You naughty, naughty girl. You shattered the jewel!”

She looked down. “Where’s the rest of it? Or I shall be cross.”

“Give that back!”

“Answer the question. Where is the rest of it?” Yura demanded.

[F/N] frowned. “I don’t know! Does that satisfy you?!”

Yura sighed. “I see…” She gripped the blade beside her and jumped towards the girl. “Well then… I may as well finish you right now!”

The black-haired girl tsked as she backed away once more. Yura drew her katana as [F/N] ducked at the last second. But by doing so, she started to fall into the well.

The middle schooler looked back and started to try and hold onto something but failed. Her scream started to fade into the well while Yura cursed.

“No fair escaping!” She threw the blade in but stopped in confusion as she didn’t see the sword anymore. She placed her feet on both sides of the well as she used a hair strand to draw the katana back to her.

“That’s strange.” She looked inside. “Come to think of it, so was that girl…”

[F/N] groaned as she stood up from her rough landing. She looked around and noted that the bones from earlier were gone. She frowned before looking up.

She gasped when she saw a ceiling instead of the open sky. She smiled and floated up and out of the well. She sighed in relief as she walked outside of the shrine and into the open street.

She walked around, ignoring the stares of the onlookers before she jolted and looked around as explosions started to be heard.

She frowned, turned around, ran towards the noises, and finally arrived in an alleyway. This was where she saw a villain made of sludge wrapping around a fellow middle schooler.

She glared and ran into the scene, ignoring the attempts made to grab her by the Pro-Heroes around.

She grabbed a discarded twig from Kamui Woods and quickly launched herself into the air with the stick to stab the eye of the villain. She succeeded and grabbed onto the blonde boy to pull him out. As she was doing so, the villain got back up.

“Who the hell are you?!”

“Damn bitch !”

[F/N] tsked as the sludge went to attack her but the next thing she knew, both she and the boy were in All Might’s grasp. She looked up in astonishment as the man was wrapped in sludge.

“Y-All Might?!”

“Hah!!?”

Don’t worry, young civilians!” He ripped his arm away. “Pros are always risking their lives! That’s the true test of being a hero!”

‘What is he talking about??’

“Damn you, All Might!!” The villain went to attack the man but was deflected when the hero launched his specialty attack.

Detroit SMASH!”

Everything in the vicinity was cleared, including the villain. The heroes on the scene went to quickly protect the bystanders as the wind finally dissipated.

The man panted as the blonde boy next to [F/N] fainted. The girl shook her head and looked up at the man still holding onto her arm. She looked up further when she saw a couple of water droplets fall onto her sleeve.

“He changed the weather…” She smiled.

However, that happiness was soon squashed as the heroes in the area began to reprimand her. She frowned as she looked at the ground, avoiding their glares.

The blonde teenager, though, simply stared at her with a frown.

She was finally able to sneak away and made her walk back to the Todoroki residence.

“God, I really hope none of them were watching the news…” She sighed. She paused when she saw a billboard. That had a missing poster of herself. She jumped, but before she could approach it, a voice called out to her.

She turned to look and saw that it was the boy from the attack.

“You! Old lady!”

Old -?!”

He huffed before standing up to face her. “Listen. I would never ask for help, especially from someone who’s dressed like you! So don’t look down on me, as I’m the future number one hero!”

[F/N] blinked before grumbling. “Look! I’m not old! I’m 15 years old, and what I’m wearing is none of your business!” She huffed.

“Goodbye, someone I’ll never see again!” She walked away.

“Fine! See you never!” If [F/N] turned around, she would’ve laughed at the walk the boy was making.

Alas, she didn’t and continued walking. But she flinched when All Might appeared in front of her. She shrieked and fell on her bottom as the man poised.

I am here!”

She blinked rapidly. “Y-Yagi-San?! Wha-How??”

The man laughed. “That’s right! I am Ya-Urrkk!!” He deflated.

[F/N] frozed before screaming. “What the hell?!”

“Are you okay, Yagi-San?” She patted the man on the back as he coughed.

“Thank you, Young [F/N]. Sorry, I didn’t interfere earlier for both your and that boy’s safety..”

[F/N] shook her head. “No, I get it. You’re injured… You’re not always going to be there.” She smiled softly.

The man smiled. “Thank you.”

“I’m home!” She ran home, quickly discarded her Zori shoes, and ran to her room.

Fuyumi, who was in the kitchen, dropped her spatula and quickly ran towards her. “[F/N]-Chan?! Is that you!!??”

A muffled confirmation was heard. “You’ve been missing for three whole days!! Where were you??!”

The girl opened the door, dressed in a plain white ‘T-Shirt’ t-shirt and moss-green sweatpants. Her hair was up in a wet bun as she took the world’s shortest shower.

“You won't believe it! I was apparently in the feudal era of Japan! 700 years!!” She notified the young adult.

“Awesome right??”

Fuyumi smiled. She patted the girl's head and guided her to the dinner table. “How about we worry about that later and just go eat for now.”

“YESS! Please!! I haven’t eaten modern food in so long!!”

[F/N] rushed to the dining table where she saw a frozen Shouto and Natsuo.

She blinked and waved. But she squealed when the two hugged her. She hugged them back and froze a little when she spotted a little boy sitting with them.

“Uh- Otouto? What’s he doing here?”

Fuyumi smiled. “Little Souta here was worried about you.” She giggled.

The little boy huffed in embarrassment.

[F/N] chuckled and joined the rest at the dinner table. Shouto, finally breaking the silence, asked. “So, where were you?”

The girl finished chewing her portion of the food as she faced him. “Would you believe me if I said I went to an old era of Japan before Quirks?”

He did a so-so motion with his hands.

She sighed.

She was about to continue eating when the door behind her slid open. She and the rest of them looked back to see a boy with silver hair, glaring at [F/N].

Said girl blinked. “Inuyasha?”

“Idiot!” He walked closer to the girl and got in her face. “Who told you you could go home??”

The girl glared back at him. “How’d you get here? And get out of my face!!”

“I got here through the well, dumbass!”

“Of course, I know that! I meant how’d you find me??”

“Through your disgusting smell, of course!”

“I do not smell disgusting, you damn-”

Natsuo interrupted. “Who the hell is that?!” He pointed at the Hanyou.

Both teenagers blinked while the rest stared at them. [F/n] looked at the silver-haired boy, tilting her head. “You gonna introduce yourself?”

Inuyasha backed away, jumping slightly. “E-Eh?? Why do I have to do it??”

“Because I’m not you??”

The boy scoffed. “Enough!” He grabbed the girl’s arm, pulling her away towards the door. “Come on, we’re leaving.”

[F/N] glared, resisting. “What? Why??” She paused for a moment before remembering what had happened earlier that day. “Oh, wai-”

“Let go of her!!” Fuyumi stood up with a stern look. She walked over to them while the boy rolled his eyes.

“Now what?”

Once the woman got closer, she paused before gently placing her hands on the Hanyou’s ears. Both Inuyasha and [F/N] deadpanned while she was staring intently.

“These ears… Are they your Quirk?”

Souta smiled before quickly leaving his seat. “Me next! Me next!”

[F/N] smiled sheepishly. “Uh, Fuyumi-Chan.. He’s getting embarrassed the more you do that…” She said while the woman continued petting the boy’s ears.

“Who says I’m embarrassed?!”

[F/N] smirked. “So you’re not?”

The boy glared at her. She snickered before stopping. She looked over to the boy’s shoulder where she saw a strand of hair ? She hummed before looking up at the boy.

“You have a hair on your kimono.” She announced to him. The boy blinked, confused.

“Really? I don’t see anything…”

The girl blinked before grabbing the strand. As soon as she caught it, it started to tighten in her palm, causing a cut to form.

This caused everyone in the room to gasp, as a cut magically appeared in her hand. “It moves…” She narrowed her eyes.

Shouto frowned. “Are you okay?”

Natsuo stood up before approaching the girl. “Let me see it.” [F/N] gave her hand to the young man as he inspected it.

The girl waited while the boy deduced the injury. “Seems like a clean slice… Maybe you cut yourself with something..?” He seemed unsure.

The black-haired girl nodded. ‘Seems like I’m the only one who can see the hair around my wrist…’ She glanced down.

She thought for a moment before gasping.

[F/N] looked up, only to see a woman dressed skimpy. She glared at the shoeless girl.

“My net of hairs, I mean. Pity, because seeing’s not enough.”

The middle schooler scoffed. “Who’re you?”

‘Shit! Yura with her hairs!!’

She turned around and ran to where she was confident the well was. As she ran, the rest followed after her, Inuyasha close behind. As she took sharp turns in the windy atmosphere, she finally made it to the old shrine.

She passed by the gates and ran inside the small building after slamming the doors open. As she gazed inside, overflowing with hair was the well.

She tsked as she looked everywhere inside. “Dammit, it’s everywhere!!”

Inuyasha stood beside her. “The old crone was right. You do have the sight.”

“Yup. And you led her right to us..” She looked at him.

“[F/N]!!”

The two turned around to see the rest running to them. Shouto huffed, being the first one in line. “Where are you going??”

Fuyumi furrowed her eyebrows while Natsuo stayed behind with Souta. [F/N] frowned. “I’ll be back, okay? Don’t come in!”

The girl closed the doors shut before locking it. She turned around, staring intently at the net of hairs. ‘There has to be a way to lure back the hairs… But what…?’

While so, Inuyasha looked at her before backing away slightly as the girl dodged a piller of hair attacking her.

[F/N] tsked and turned towards the boy. “Front! Dodge!!”

That’s the cue the boy took and jumped away.

“Where is it?” He grunted. He looked around frantically before slashing at the flooring, to which the hair dodged. “Here?” He looked toward the well as one of his ears started to flicker.

That’s when he jumped away as hair launched to where he used to be. While he was airborne, the hair wrapped around his ankle, trapping the Hanyou.

[F/N] gulped, looking around for something while the Todorokis and Souta were outside.

She could hear Fuyumi and Natsuo’s worried calls for her as Inuyasha slashed at the hair. The black-haired girl frowned as she looked down to see the air regrouping, even after being sliced.

“Inuyasha! The hair comes back together even after you cut it!” She warned the silver-haired boy. “There’s too much!”

The hair latched onto the boy again, pissing him off. [F/N] looked around before a glint of hair caught her eye. She looked closely before gasping softly. “There it is!” She jumped down and grabbed onto the strand as quickly as she could.

She held it out to the struggling boy. “Here! Cut this one right here!”

“Which one??”

[F/N] held it closer to his face. She flexed her wrist, causing the hair to shine. Inuyasha smirked, “I see it now!” He swung his free arm and sliced the strand, causing his struggle to seize.

The hair started to disappear as the two looked back at the well. “It pulled back in…” Inuyasha noticed.

The girl nodded. “And since she has my piece of the shard, she’s even more powerful…”

Inuyasha stilled. He slowly turned around to her with a shocked expression. “S-She- WHAT?!” He shouted at her.

[F/N] frowned. “She caught me off-guard! How was I supposed to defend myself against a bunch of hair??!” She countered.

“Maybe don’t go off by yourself?? You stupid or something??”

“Shut up!” She huffed, turning back to the well. “Even though she has it, she must want something else from us. Or otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone through all this trouble…”

Inuyasha sighed. [F/N] walked closer to the well before placing a foot over it. The boy tilted his head in confusion as he walked closer as well. “Thought you didn’t want to go back. Something change your mind?”

The girl looked at him before looking back down. “Something like that.”

“Hm?”

[F/N] sighed, blinking. ‘Even if we stay any longer, they’ll be in danger… Plus, like All Might said, a Pro-Hero always risks their life… Right ?’

She was startled out of her thoughts, though. It was Inuyasha, who placed the top of his kimono on her head. She turned around, confused, while the boy looked away.

“It’s made with hair of the Fire Rat. You’ll have some protection, at least.”

The girl nodded, thanking him. “Thanks.”

The boy nodded. “Yeah, well, if you weren’t so weird-looking, you wouldn’t even need it.”

“The hell’s that supposed to mean?? You’re nothing but a damn dog who listens to commands! So don't make me say it!!” The boy flinched, whining.

“Geez!” He jumped onto the well. “You ready or what??”

The girl blinked at him before jumping in before him. “Hey! Wait up, stupid!” Inuyasha jumped in after her, glaring.

While in the well, the dark surroundings soon turned into bright lights of purple and yellows. [F/N], who was in front, quickly appeared on the other side of the well. She looked up at the night sky before floating up.

She looked down when she heard the Hanyou fading in, nodding as he did. “C’mon Inuyasha!” She called out to him.

The boy looked up to see the girl already halfway up and jumped after her. He grabbed onto her as they continued to float up. “Careful there, there’s still a bunch of hair here.” She looked at him before looking back up.

The boy scoffed. “Yeah, yeah.”

As she floated them out, Inuyasha jumped off of her and onto the ground, not too far from the well. “So, Yura’s after us. Even though she already has the shard..”

The girl nodded as she landed on the edge of the well. She looked around, seeing a bunch of hair throughout the forest. “There’s bundles of hair everywhere in this forest…” She noted to the boy.

Inuyasha nodded. “So I just follow you, huh?”

[F/N] grinned. “Yup! Leave it to me!” She activated her Quirk once again. While she was in the air, the boy jumped onto her back. She looked back at the Hanyou with a grin. “Just kick your feet off of the well and I’ll maneuver us in the direction, okay?”

“Fine.” He did just as instructed as the duo were launched forward, deep into the forest. While basically flying through the trees, they came across a camp.

Inuyasha took notice first, noting “A bonfire.” [F/N] nodded, finally noticing it as well. The two looked around as the girl frowned.

“Where are their heads…?” The boy jumped off of her back and walked around the camp.

He frowned, recognizing the men. “They’re guys from the village. Or their bodies, anyway.” He looked closely. “Looks like their tops came clean off.”

While the boy was inspecting the bodies, [F/N] floated closer to the discarded pile of bows and arrows. She furrowed her eyebrows before grabbing them.

Inuyasha turned around, looking at her confused as she walked to him with the items held to her chest. “Better safe than sorry, right?” She smiled. The boy said nothing as she reactivated her power.

He jumped on her back like he had done the same thing before. She flew around and landed on a branch. She sighed, looking around.

“The hair ends around here-” She was cut off by the tree falling down. She quickly used her Quirk to save her fall as Inuyasha used himself as the girl’s own personal launchpad.

They flew into the air, [F/N] having quickly moved them out of the way of the incoming hair. She looked up and gritted her teeth at the display of more hairs in the distance.

She landed a few feet away and looked over her shoulder to the boy on her back. “There’s too much hair! We gotta do something about these!!”

Inuyasha frowned. “I thought that was why you were here! You’re really good for nothing, huh?”

[F/N] scoffed before jumping into the air again, dodging another attack. She continued while yelling at the boy. “What do you mean, ‘Good for nothing’ ?! You don’t know jackshit!!”

“Get off my back!”

“You’re the one-!”

Their argument didn’t transpire more since the boy was flung off the girl’s back. [F/N] looked back to see the Hanyou restrained by Yura’s hair. She tsked, having heard the boy’s surprised scream.

Her eyes slowly fell onto the giant ball of hair beside Inuyasha, confusing her.

“Huh?... Wait- That might be where Yura is hiding-!”

She was wrong.

Yura, taking this opportunity to because of the distracted girl, jumped out of her hiding place and stood on top of multiple hairs. She looked at both [F/N] and Inuyasha with a gleam in her eyes as she looked from above.

“Oh, my, look at the cute doggie.”

Inuyasha glared as he tried to move his arms, with great struggle though.

“You must be Inuyasha.”

The boy glared. “And you must be Yura of the Hair. How’d you know my name?”

“Let’s just say a little birdie told me. Everyone’s saying Inuyasha the Hanyou is playing fetch with some reincarnated Miko.”

“Me?! With that half-wit human down there?! Nothing doing!”

Yura smirked. “Oh? You’re both half-wits to me.” She reached into her shirt, pulling out the shard and bag. “Just look what you’ve done to the poor jewel.”

Inuyasha growled. [F/N] frowned, “Dammit! The shard!”

“Once you two here have been wrapped up, I’ll go find the rest for myself.”

The Hanyou scoffed. “ You ? Take care of me ?” He grunted, still restrained. “When this is over, you’re going to wish you’d never met me or ever heard my name!” He thrust his arm forward, successfully unwrapping it. He did the same for his feet, using his one arm still trapped to swing forward towards the Yokai in front of him.

Yura dodged, throwing more hair at him as she grinned. Inuyasha tsked. “Not more of the same.” He turned around, but since he couldn’t see the attack coming to him, he was unfortunately struck again.

He groaned. “No, not this again.”

The woman lowered herself behind the Hanyou with a longing look. She grabbed a few strands of the boy’s hair, caressing it. “Such pretty hair, but you really haven’t cared for it very well. Look at the split ends.”

The boy thrashed. “Get off of me!” He hit the girl with his arm, throwing her off balance. He looked down at her while she twirled down, only to land on hair once again instead of the ground.

Yura used the hair to launch herself back into the air as she took out a sword to strike Inuyasha. She flew past him, injuring the boy as he let out a yelp of pain.

[F/N], hearing this, peeked out of her hiding spot in shock. “Shit. Inuyasha…”

The Yokai lowered herself to the boy’s eye level with a chuckle. She brought the sword closer to her face as she licked it, maintaining eye contact with the Hanyou.

“I’m going to cut you into little pieces.” She smirked, flexing her wrist as the katana gleamed in the moonlight. She grinned, kicking her feet off of the hair as she descended to the boy.

But her way was blocked by an arrow, nearly hitting her in the head. She retreated with a glare, turning her head to see [F/N] with a bow.

The black-haired girl narrowed her eyes. “Next time, I won’t miss. Let him down.” She demanded.

Yura blinked, “The girl who fell in the well.”

[F/N] glared, readying another arrow.

The Yokai chuckled. “Ooh~, I think she wants you back, Inuyasha. What a sweet little doggie you must be.”

The silver-haired boy tsked, turning around to face the girl on the floor. “I told you to hide, not draw attention to yourself!”

The middle schooler frowned. “You didn’t tell me shit! So don’t complain!”

Yura, on the other hand, didn’t pay attention to their bickering. “Of course, her hair’s not so pretty as yours, Inuyasha, but then… Waste not, want not.” She looked over her sword.

As she was drawing back the arrow, [F/N] glared. “Puh-lease! At least my hair's clean!” She released the arrow but blinked in shock when Inuyasha accidentally moved his head.

The boy noticed this, quickly leaning away in distress before calling out to the girl, angrily. “Would you watch where you’re aiming that thing, please!?”

“Next time watch where you’re putting your head then!”

The arrow continued to fly, eventually hitting the huge ball of hair. Once it did, it started to glow pink. It surrounded the entire ball before causing it to unravel into a bunch of human skulls, tangled in the hair strands.

[F/N] gasped in horror while Yura became worried.

“Oh, no! What have you done?!”

Inuyasha frowned. “Those guys we saw from the village.”

“I’ll be putting you in here, too, once I separate that pretty hair from your head.” She giggled, turning to look at the boy. “It’s wasted on you, anyway.” She lowered herself down with the surrounding hair.

“One thing, first, that woman over there has to die!” The hair she launched at [F/N] caught fire, shocking both her and the Hanyou.

The middle schooler ducked down and covered her head as the fire landed on her. She grunted as she felt the heat, using her hands to further cover herself.

Yura smirked. “There. Hot enough for you? You’ll feel the heat right down to your bones.”

[F/N] coughed into her hands as the fire got hotter and hotter. “Shit! Not like this…!”

Inuyasha and Yura watched, one helplessly and the other maliciously. “Aw~, that’s for emptying out my lair.”

The boy furrowed his eyebrows. “Huh?...”

“Pity there’ll be nothing left but ash.”

The Hanyou frowned. “Come on!”

“Poor thing. I’d almost forgot.” She turned around, unsheathing her sword. “Pets ought never be allowed to outlive their masters!” She smirked, launching herself at the boy.

Inuyasha scoffed before digging his claws into his chest. He drew blood, having it coat his fingers. He drew it back, glaring at the incoming girl.

“Blades of Blood!”

He slashed the air, surprising Yura. “Huh?”

She blinked, too late to stop as the attack finally reached her. “Oh, no!” She tried to deflect the attack but got her hand chopped off in the process. She yelped in pain as Inuyasha felt his hand getting loose.

Yura glared at the boy, having caught her hand with the hair around. “That’s no fair!”

Inuyasha smirked. “There. How’d you like that? Serves you right!”

“I do wish you’d use some restraint when addressing a lady. Were you brought up in a doghouse?” She insulted him, glaring as the unwrapped ball behind her came closer.

The tangled skulls laughed, having more and more of them appear at the bottom of where the hairs start.

Yura glared with a comb in her mouth. “Heads up!” She flung more hair at the Hanyou. Though the hair she used was the one that was previously in the ball of hair. The skulls that were attached aimed their mouths onto the boy’s pants but were broken before they could reach by Inuyasha.

The severed hand, still tangled in hair, was flung next. Thankfully, Inuyasha dodged.

Yura smirked. “Stay still. It’s much harder to hit when you move.”

The boy frowned. “Yeah, I’ll just bet it is!” He used the same attack as before but was blocked as the girl shielded herself with more hair.

Inuyasha growled, displeased. Since he was distracted, he didn’t see the hand coming back to stab him in the back. Literally.

He yelped in pain as it went through his chest. He further groaned as he was harshly thrown to the ground.

The hand went back up to Yura, now reattached to her wrist. She chuckled. “Half-demon, half-power. I should have known.”

The silver-haired boy glared at her from below. “Why, you…”

“Disappointed?” She smirked. “I’ll bet you were hoping to use this to become all-demon.” She descended, pulling out the bag containing the jewel shard out of her chest.

“The Jewel of Four Souls.” Inuyasha hoarsely called out.

Yura landed beside him, lifting the katana above him. “Now, stay still. If I don’t get a clean cut, your blood will stain that pretty silver hair of yours.” She drew back the blade, before slicing through the air towards him.

Inuyasha quickly rose, “Don’t you wish!” And struck the Yokai in the chest, going straight through. Yura grunted, her eyes widened.

The boy drew back his arm as the bag fell out. He fell to the ground with a smirk, looking up at the girl. “Heh. That’ll teach ya.” Though he yelped in pain as the Yokai stepped on his hand.

Confused, he looked up to see Yura glaring at him. “Why, I never. A Hanyou I just met sticking his hand in my chest?”

‘Wha- Why isn’t she dead?!’

“Plus there’s the fact you stole my jewel.” She knelt down, grabbing the bag. “Now I have become cross.”

‘Her weak spot. Where is it?’

She stood up once again with a chuckle, glaring at the boy below her. Though she blinked in confusion as the hairs in her palm bounced a little. “Huh?” She turned around, frowning.

There, climbing with great speed, was [F/N]. There was [F/C] and pink lightning surrounding her as she continued upwards.

Both Yura and Inuyasha stared at her in shock. The Yokai glared, gritting her teeth. “That girl!” She drew back hair, causing the avalanche of hair and skulls to rock back and forth.

This caused [F/N] to fall, but she quickly used her hand to propel her back onto the waterfall of hair and human remains.

Inuyasha looked around, noticing the dropped sword on the ground. He grabbed it, lifting it above his head. “You shouldn’t have looked away!” He struck the Yokai in the back.

Yura screamed as her back opened. But hair quickly came and stitched it up for her. She turned around after a second, with a glare on her face. “Alright. That does it!”

She raised her hand into the air, tightening her grip on the hairs still wrapped around Inuyasha’s limbs. She tugged it back, pulling at him.

The boy grunted in pain for a moment before smirking. “Ha! When I took your hand, it was like you broke a nail, but now you seem mad for real.” He lifted his head, “What are you hiding that you’re so worried about?”

The girl growled, glaring.

[F/N] looked down towards the boy. “Keep her distracted while I get that skull up there, Inuyasha!”

“Which skull??”

Yura, knowing what the girl meant, jumped into the hair. She dragged the katana with her, making Inuyasha glare at the Yokai’s back.

“Oh, no, you don’t!” He tugged at his restraints, successfully escaping before jumping up as well.

The Yokai glared at [F/N], tugging at the end of the flood of hair. “Stop pulling my hair!”

The middle schooler narrowed her eyes as she grasped onto the strands as tightly as she could. As Inuyasha was nearing the two, his way was blocked by hair, surprising him.

[F/N] continued climbing, ignoring her disgust every time she touched a skull.

The Yokai gritted her teeth, throwing more hair at the girl below. “You’re tangling it all up!” She threw the katana at her, shocking the black-haired girl as let go of some of the hair.

She fell down but was still struck by the blade.

Yura smirked. “Got you!”

[F/N] looked down in slight fear but was quickly grabbed and trapped by hair at her wrists. The teenager looked back and forth as she struggled in her bindings before looking up to see Yura glaring at her.

“What are you? Why don’t you bleed?!”

The girl gulped, staring at her intact arm. ‘My arm should’ve been sliced clean off… Is it the kimono Inuyasha gave me?...’

She was startled out of her thoughts, though. It was Inuyasha, who placed the top of his kimono on her head. She turned around, confused, while the boy looked away.

It’s made with hair of the Fire Rat. You’ll have some protection, at least .”

The girl nodded, thanking him. “Thanks.”

[F/N] blinked in realization. ‘That explains why I wasn’t burnt to a crisp!’

Yura crept closer, analyzing the girl. “Even from here, you look mortal enough to me.” She uncrossed her arms. “Let’s put you to the test.” She leaped back, firing a single strand of hair towards her.

The strand wrapped around [F/N]’s neck, tightening as the girl struggled.

The Yokai smirked.

“Blades of Blood!”

Another attack struck to the back of the girl, causing the strand to break. [F/N] gasped as she inhaled as much air as she could. She looked up, squinting slightly.

“Inuaysha?”

The surrounding hair started to fall to the ground, dragging the girl with them. The Hanyou frowned, jumping down towards the girl.

“Don’t you dare faint on me, you stupid girl!”

After Inuyasha caught her, he jumped down to the skull-covered flooring. Once they landed, he fell a little bit, landing on his knees as he covered [F/N]’s head with his arm.

The hair that used to be a ball fell behind the two, shaking everything around them. The girl looked up before quickly pulling the boy with her as she activated her Quirk.

“Hey!”

She flung them back as a sword struck the ground where Inuyasha once sat.

“Wha-?! You again??!” He looked up at Yura, glaring as drew the katana back to her.

“You forget I’m immortal!” She threw the sword again but gasped as she froze.

While the two were talking, [F/N] took that opportunity to crawl away and start hacking at a red skull with an arrow using her Quirk.

The area around the teenager glowed in two different colors as the skull in her hand started to crack, faster with each hit.

The two Yokais turned towards her as [F/N] smirked. “The hairs are connected to this!” She informed the silver-haired boy.

Yura glared. “Stop that!” She demanded desperately. “I’ll kill you!” She drew back her hand, intending to throw her sword at her. She did so, but she was too late as the skull had already been broken into with the arrow penetrating it.

The sword stopped mid-air before dropping to the ground.

The skull broke in half, revealing a broken comb inside as a bright pink light shone from it.

That’s when Yura started to disappear into pink dust.

[F/N] panted as he deactivated her Quirk, lifting half of the comb to her face. Inuyasha, approaching, sighed. “So that’s what Yura really was.”

“A comb, huh…”

“Sure. Will all that you’ve seen since you’ve been here, are you surprised?”

‘I’ve seen worse…’

The Hanyou continued. “It’s probably got powers, ‘cause it was once used to comb the hair of the dead. Yura didn’t really use it so much as it used her.” He finished but knelt down in pain.

[F/N] quickly went to his side and held him up. “Careful, you still have that slash in your chest.” She sighed, frowning. “This only happened because you gave me your kimono…” She handed it back to him.

Inuyasha waved off her concerns. “It’s no big deal. What happened to the Sacred Jewel?”

The girl turned around and pointed to where the bag was. She carefully placed the boy on the ground and quickly ran to the bag and back. As she gripped the bag, she had Inuyasha lean into her for support.

“It’s here.” She showed the Hanyou, taking out the shard. “I wonder how long it’ll take to find the rest…” She wondered out loud.

The boy beside her stood up. “Let’s go, [F/N].”

“Huh?” She looked up at him.

“What?”

The girl smiled. “You’ve said it right this time.” She stood up.

The boy jumped, looking away. “Yeah? What of it?”

[F/N] grinned, teasingly. “Maybe you like me now.” She shrugged.

“Don’t get excited. I still think you’re pretty useless.”

The girl rolled her eyes. “Sure.” She flicked the back of his head. But she froze when the boy yelped in pain.

She watched as he fell to the ground, groaning. She sighed, shaking her head. “Next time, don’t keep your pain to yourself…”

“LEAVE ME ALONE!!

Chapter 3: U.A. and Sesshomaru

Chapter Text

“Hello..” A small girl greeted the shorter boy in front of her. “It’s nice to meet you.” She gave a smile.

The short-haired boy nodded, giving his own nervous smile towards her.

“Now listen, we welcome you into this home on regards that you marry my son once you and him graduate from U.A. High School. No exceptions. Got it?”

Hesitantly, the girl nodded.

The boy, now beside her, glared at his father with his one good eye.

“Got it, Endeavor-san…”

“Then welcome. [F/N].”

[F/N] ran down the street with her bag on. She was going to something significant that could determine her very future. Once she finally made it in front of the school, she grinned.

“Here I am, U.A.”

She walked around the hallways, looking for the testing area. Once she found it, she went inside the room, looking around for open seats. She found one, but it was beside a blonde.

She sighed, recognizing him. She grumbled before hesitantly sitting down beside him.

The boy looked towards her, raising an eyebrow.

‘Thank god, he doesn’t recognize me!! ’ She cried.

That’s when the lights started to dim. She sighed, looking forward while the boy did the same.

There, in the front, stood the Pro-Hero Present Mic.

What’s up, U.A. candidates?! Thanks for tunin’ in to me, your school DJ!” He spread his arms wide as she grinned.

“Come on! And let me hear ya!”

-Silence-

Nobody said anything.

[F/N] said nothing and sighed. She looked around the auditorium, taking note of all the different types of people who could be her classmates.

‘Shouto-Kun is so lucky… Already taking his exam…’ She frowned.

That’s when the doors to the room slammed open. Everybody, including her, turned around to see a silver-haired teenager looking around, nose in the air.

[F/N] deadpanned, quickly ducking down as Inuyasha’s head turned towards her general direction.

“Shit, shit, shit!! Why is he here??!”

She cursed, ignoring the looks of the people around her. She stayed like that for almost 2 minutes before looking up. She shrieked when she saw Inuyasha sitting at the desk before her.

“Inuyasha!! What’re you doing here??” She demanded of the Hanyou.

The boy picked at his ear before responding. “I’m here to drag you back.”

[F/N] blinked at his audacity.

“I’m in the middle of something important right now!! ” She glared.

“Contestant 2234, please keep your friend quiet as we continue on with the show!”

“O-OH! Y-Yes, Present Mic!!” She stammered before turning over to the boy, glaring.

Inuyasha jumped at the intensity of it. “W-WaiT!”

“Sit boy!”

A loud thud echoed through the auditorium.

“You can continue, Present Mic!!”

U-Uh, thanks, young listener!” He gave a thumbs up.

[F/N] smiled before turning to the Hanyou to glare. She frowned before turning back to the front, listening to the instructions. Inuyasha grumbled, sitting back on the desk, and looking at her with a hard stare.

The girl ignored him, becoming annoyed with every passing second. She sighed, turning to the boy.

“What??”

“When are you going to go back to the well?”

[F/N] sighed, shaking her head. “ In like, 3-4 hours. I’m going to be busy .”

The silver-haired boy groaned.

“AND YOU, WITH THE LONG HAIR!”

A shout distracted the two to look at a few seats in front of them, noticing a tall, stiff, blue-haired man .

“If you’re going to stay here to just talk with your boyfriend and distract those around here, I recommend you take a leave from this test if you’re unserious about this!”

[F/N] and Inuyasha blinked before looking at each other. “WHAT?!”

“EEUGH!!”

The girl shook her head. “He’s not my boyfriend! He’s a pain in my ass!”

I’m the pain?! You broke-!”

“SHUT UP!”

The teenagers around them sweatdropped, leaning away from the argument. [F/N] huffed, looking away from the Hanyou, “Plus, I’m serious about being a hero. Though I’d recommend that you leave if you’re willing to try and humiliate someone based on something that isn’t even their fault.” She frowned, shaking her head.

The man stuttered, becoming defensive. Present Mic finally popped in, trying to de-escalate the situation. That’s when the girl realized that she didn’t hear the explanation of the test, cursing as she gripped her hair.

“Dammit…” She frowned.

Inuyasha looked at her with a raised brow. “What’s up with you now?” He furrowed his eyebrows.

“Leave me alone.” She sulked.

“E-Eh?!”

The girl, now changed into her gym clothing, exposing her hard-earned muscles, thanks to All MIght, stood outside the enclosed city containing her opponents.

She inhaled deeply before exhaling, calming her nerves. She looked around before noticing a brown-haired girl, taking breaths.

“Oh, it’s her! The girl who helped that plain boy…”

She smiled before looking away. She looked up at the clear sky, before tilting her head. “What’s that?”

She squinted her eyes, seeing a figure closing in before jumping away when they landed beside her. She looked at them wide-eyed before glaring. “Watch where you’re landing! Geez , Inuyasha…”

“Shut up, you stupid girl.”

Wow, so original . Shouldn’t you be resting right now anyway? Especially with the wounds you received yesterday?”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes. “I heal faster than you humans. I’ll be fine.”

“Sure.” [F/N] stared blankly.

That’s when everyone in the area heard a loud shout.

“RIGHT, LET’S START!”

[F/N] quickly activated her Quirk, bolting through the doors as the rest of the teenagers looked confused and outraged.

“That’s cheating!”
“HEY!!”

The girl smirked as she looked around, destroying robots left and right with her fists.

‘I guess the numbers of these robots are points… So that means I have 24 points so far.’

She grinned, running deeper into the city.

Inuyasha, on the other hand, jumped onto the roofs of the buildings, staring down at the girl. He tsked, jumping after her. ‘It’s still shocking that humans have superpowers now in the future…’ He looked at the glowing form of the girl.

Panting, [F/N] shot herself into the air before quickly deactivating her Quirk to free-fall onto another robot. Off into the distance, you could see Inuyasha twitch at the display.

The boy shook his head before continuing with his mission, jumping to the next structure.

[F/N], on the other hand, ran around, looking for more robots. She frowned, not finding a single one. But she did pull some other teenagers away from falling debris.

However, they didn’t thank her as much as they yelled at her for getting in their way. She rolled her eyes before running away. She tsked, looking down alleyways, down streets, basically anywhere she would think a robot was hiding.

“Clearly, the examinees have no idea how many villains are present, or their locations.”

A high-pitched voice smiled, showcasing live footage on multiple screens. “They have limited time, must cover a vast area, and hunt down every last target.”

A video popped up with a teenage boy using his multiple appendages as enhanced ears. “Some use information-gathering abilities to plan out strategies.”

Another video popped up with the blue-haired man, using his speed Quirk. “While others rely on speed to pull ahead of their peers.”

“Of course, remaining calm under pressure can be a huge advantage.” [F/N] and a blonde with purple eyes was next shown on screen. “As can pure power and combat ability.” Another blonde, but this time with red eyes, was the next contestant.

“The most successful students use a combination of all these tactics. They’re the ones who rack up the highest scores.”

A teacher hummed. “Hm, I’d say this year’s group looks promising.”

“Well, there’s still plenty of time before it’s over.” A rough voice cut through. “The real test has yet to come.” That's when a hand-illuminated by the blue shine of the screen, pressed a red button.

“Let’s see how they react.”

[F/N] quickly stopped when she felt rumbling. She looked around before quickly activating her Quirk and flying up into the air. She stayed near the buildings, in case it wasn’t allowed to be up so high.

She looked around before flinching when a couple of buildings went down a few feet away from her.

“Hey! Girl in the air!!”

She blinked, looking down to see the rest of the examinees staring up at her. “What’s happening??!”

[F/N] gulped, looking back up. “I think it’s.. A giant robot??!” She shrieked.

“WhAt!!?”

The black-haired girl quickly deactivated her Quirk when she saw an incoming fist from the robot. She plummeted to the ground before quickly activating it again.

But thanks to the force of the attack, she got flung. Really.

She thought quickly and thrust her fist into the ground with One-For-All to stabilize herself. [F/N] looked up with a conflicted expression while the rest of the examinees ran past her.

[F/N] pulled on her arm, looking between the two frantically. “Shit, shit, shit!!”

“LESS THAN TWO MINUTES REMAINING!!”

“Two minutes?? Has it been that long already??!” She grit her teeth, pulling with all her might. She successfully got her hand free, but when she was about to flee, she paused.

A soft cry for help stopped her.

[F/N] turned around, and frowned when she saw a brunette trapped underneath some rumble. She gasped in horror before she started to run in the girl’s direction.

She skidded to a stop before the brunette and placed her hands underneath the broken piece of pavement. She lifted it, struggling a little bit for it to be enough so the girl could crawl away.

“Are you okay?? Can you move at all??” She asked the girl.

The chubby girl shook her head. “No! My ankle hurts too much! I think I twisted it!!” She cried, looking back at her foot.

Cursing, [F/N] turned to look around but glared at the fleeing forms of the other examinees. She looked back and forth, thinking about what she should do. She didn’t know what to do!

She panted, moving the slab of concrete away from the two, and threw it to the side. She knelt down and wrapped her arms around the teenager’s shoulder and waist.

That’s when [F/N] turned around and made a run for it. But not before activating her Quirk to around 15% and quickly leaving the giant robot in her dust.

That’s when the duo heard Present Mic announce that the exam was over. The two breathed a sigh of relief, thankful they were out of danger.

They were quickly approaching the gates when they noticed an old woman in a nurse’s uniform.

[F/N] and the girl’s eyes widened. “R.G./Recovery Girl!!” The two smiled. They came closer to the woman before the black-haired girl rested the brunette on the floor carefully.

“R.G., this girl over here twisted her ankle.. Are you able to heal her up?” [F/N] asked the heroine.

Recovery Girl frowns at the girl’s state. “Of course, dearie.” That’s when she shocked everybody; her mouth formed into large lips when she pursed her lips.

The two watched, bewildered, as Recovery Girl kissed the brunette’s forehead. Soon after, a light green glow surrounded the girl as her ankle twisted back to a more natural state.

“Woah! That was so cool!” She then deflated. “And tiring…” She yawned.

[F/N] nodded, watching on in astonishment. However, the silence wasn’t kept as a small dust cloud formed after a figure jumped down from above.

The ones near the area covered their eyes and coughed. [F/N] squinted her eyes as she covered her mouth.

She stared as Inuyasha came closer to her. She blinked as he stood in front of her, taking in her small scrapes with a keen eye. He grumbled, taking her hand, and dragged her to Recovery Girl.

“Get yourself healed.”

[F/N] blinked in confusion. “They’re just small scrapes, I’ll be fine. They’ll heal on their own.” She frowned. “Plus, I don’t want to take up R.G.’s time.”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes. “Fine. But don’t start complaining that they’re starting to hurt!” He crossed his arms, turning his head away from her.

The black-haired girl deadpanned. The brunette looked between the two before smiling. She stood up and walked closer to [F/N]. “You have such a caring friend there.” She elbowed the taller girl.

[F/N] shook her head. “He’s not my friend . More like… an acquaintance, thanks to somebody we both know.” She informed her.

The bubbly girl nodded, understanding. “Ohh.. Oh! By the way, my name’s Uraraka Ochako! Nice to meet you..?”

[F/N] smiled. “Shimura [F/N], that’s my name. Nice to meet you too, Uraraka-Chan. Can I call you Ura-Chan? Or ‘Raka-Chan??” The black-haired girl chuckled.

“You can call me both, Shi-Chan! Or Mura-Chan!”

The two giggled together while the silver-haired boy stared in confusion.

“Have a great rest of your day, ‘Raka-Chan!”

Uraraka waved at the two teenagers while she walked closer to the train station. “Bye, Mura-Chan!! You too, Inuyasha!!”

[F/N] smiled while waving. Inuyasha on the other hand, only crossed his arms, grumbling. That black-haired girl sighed, finally turning towards the Hanyou.

“So, Inuyasha. How’d you get into U.A.? I thought the school had a security system..”

The Hanyou flinched a little before looking away. “Nothin’ much. It was just a few robots that came out.. Thenasmallmouse…”

“A what?”

“Nothing.”

[F/N] and Inuyasha finally emerged from the other side of the well, with the girl smiling while the boy had a neutral look. The two walked, with the girl leading the way.

She hummed, enjoying the scenery while the Hanyou followed behind. She wasn’t paying attention much before she slipped on something.

She yelped, quickly balancing herself while Inuyasha flinched. [F/N], frowning, looked down to see a small patch of mud. She scoffed, hopping to the side and scraping her shoe on the clean patch of grass.

“Phew. Made me jump a little.” She sighed.

Inuyasha scoffed. “Stupid girl.” He walked ahead of her.

“Fuck off.”

While the two bickered, Kaede-Sama walked around with a small group of children, taking in her appearance.

“Kaede-Sama, are you all better?”

The woman nodded. “Aye, child. Almost all better.” She smiles softly, having her arm in a cast due to yesterday’s events.

“And you’re going to find all the jewel pieces soon, huh?”

The old woman chuckled. “Not soon perhaps, but aye.” She knelt down to the children. “It would help if Inuyasha and young [F/N] could try and like each other a little more.”

One of the children looked away for a moment before smiling. “They do like each other.” She pointed over to the now-fighting duo.

“Eh?”

The group all looked over to see [F/N] and Inuyasha grabbing at each other’s hair like preschoolers.

“Oh my…”

“Let go!” [F/N] glared.

You let go!” The silver-haired boy growled.

Kaede sighed. “Children..”

“Ow!” The three paused when the Hanyou yelped in pain. [F/N] quickly backed away from him as she and Kaede watched him pull back his kimono to see a small flea on his chest.

The flea burped before looking up at Inuyasha. “Greetings and salutations.” The flea chuckled.

[F/N] and Inuyasha blinked before the latter slapped the small bug off himself. The two teenagers checked his palm to see the flea groaning.

Inuyasha scoffed. “Well, if it isn’t Myoga the Flea.”

The girl frowned. “Flea, huh…”

Myoga fell from the boy’s hand as the silver-haired Hanyou crouched down. “So, what’d you come to see me about?”

The flea shook his head before looking up at the boy. “Inuyasha-sama, I’ve come to tell you that someone is looking for your father’s tomb.”

The boy twitched. “What do you mean someone’s trying to find it?”

Myoga shook the dirt off of him. “As guardian of his final resting place, I couldn’t just sit back and let them find it, so…”

Inuyasha deadpanned. “So you abandoned it and came running here?”

The elder Miko walked over to them with a thoughtful expression. “They say your father was an Inu no Daiyokai who claimed the western lands as his domain…”

The silver-haired boy sighed. “I don’t remember a thing about him.”

Closing his eyes, Myoga nodded. “He was the most glorious and powerful of all the Yokai. And he had the most delicious blood!”

Looking at both the flea and Hanyou, [F/N] hesitantly asked, “And… His mom?...” She sweated.

“Shut up. She died a long time ago anyway…” Inuyasha huffed, glaring at the girl.

The black-haired girl’s eyes softened, but she decided not to say anything. Myoga, though, spoke up. “Ah, she was the fairest of all the-”

He was interrupted, getting squished by Inuyasha’s finger.

[F/N] frowned, watching the boy walk away. She waited for a few seconds before following after him.

She looked around for the other teenager, finally noticing him in a tree.

“Hey, Inuya-” She paused, looking around. The hairs on the back of her neck flared up, making her frown.

‘Somethings gonna happen…’

She didn’t have to think for much longer since Inuyasha brought her to the ground.

“Ow! What the hell, Inuyasha..”

“Shut up. Something's coming..” The boy looked around.

[F/N] followed his example. Though she gasped when she saw a carriage in the sky.

She squinted her eyes before gaping at the beautiful woman inside. “ Eh ?”

“M-Mother?”

The girl squeaked.

Blinking, [F/N] looked between the Hanyou and the woman in the sky.

‘Didn’t Inuyasha say she’s been dead??!’

But she and the boy stared at the sky in horror as a monstrous hand came down and crushed the carriage in its hand. [F/N] glared as it held the woman in its palm.

“No!”

Inuyasha, on the other hand, sprang into action. But he couldn’t get any closer as a beam of fire was shot at him. That’s when a handsome young man appeared on the forearm with a small, desaturated green goblin.

“Jaken. Kill him only after we’ve talked.” The man informed the goblin.

Jaken nodded. “Aye, Sesshomaru-sama.”

Inuyasha glared at the taller man. “Sesshomaru…” He spat.

[F/N] blinked rapidly. The older man smirked. “Ah, you remember me. I am flattered. Dear little brother .”

Huh ?!” [F/N] rubbed her eyes, not believing this shit in front of her eyes.

“Hm…?

That’s when Sesshomaru noticed the hero student.

“Why, it’s a human girl…”

[F/N] frowned. “What about it?”

The yokai smirked. “How fitting… That you should be dallying with humans.” The chains around Inuyasha’s mother tightened as she struggled.

“You, with your mortal wretch of a mother… You seek your own level at last.”

‘With what Kaede-sama said before about Inuyasha, he’s half-human… A Hanyou.’

Inuyasha flexed his hand, glaring up at his older brother. “Sesshomaru… If you came all this way just to insult me…”

“Silly half-breed. Do you think I have so much time to waste?” He looked down at the two teenagers with a blank expression.

“I want you to direct me to our dear father’s grave.”

The silver-haired teenager growled. “So you’re the one? I don’t have a clue!”

Sesshomaru hummed. “I see… Then so be it.” His grip on the chains tightened as he pulled it back, injuring the Hanyou’s mother. “Your mother will just have to suffer…”

[F/N]’s gaze flickered between all three of them. Unable to take it anymore, the girl was about to jump in when Inuyasha grabbed her arm, stopping her.

“Do you think I’m stupid or something?! Mother’s been dead for years! You can’t fool-”

The Daiyokai smirked again. “Play the fool, be the fool. Don’t you think, with all my power… That I can’t bring back your mother’s soul from the dead and even find her a physical body?”

This information caused the two to freeze. [F/N] turned to the boy behind her, only to see a solemn expression. “ No…

“Inu.. Ya… Sha…..” The boy’s mother reached out to him. “Please… Don’t trouble yourself… I’ve been dead once… Anyway…”

[F/N] furrowed her eyebrows. ‘Is she… Guilt-tripping him?! ’ She frowned. However, she had to ignore that for now as Inuyasha attacked the hand that was crushing his mother.

He cut straight through it, causing the woman to fall. Panicking, [F/N] quickly activated her Quirk and flung herself into the sky, catching the woman safely.

“Are you alright?! Anywhere you’re injured??”

Before the woman could answer, Inuyasha shouted at them. “[F/N]! Get her out of here!!”

“On it!”

But Sesshomaru didn’t take that. He ordered the giant being he was standing on to attack Inuyasha. “You will not!!”

But the boy’s mother cried out for him. “Inuyasha!” She thrust her hands outward, forming a small lotus flower. The glow that came from it enveloped the three of them, blinding the black-haired girl.

‘But this is the past! Humans shouldn’t have-!’

[F/N] thought’s cut off.

“Hm?...” Her black eyes opened, taking in her surroundings. Her eyes widened when she finally located Inuyasha and his mother.

‘That’s good.. They’re both okay.’

Her eyes wandered down to the lake, but her eyes widened in horror.

‘Where’s her face?...’

‘Inuyasha! Look down!! That’s not your mother!’

[F/N] tried to open her mouth, move her arms, move anything really. But she couldn’t.

“Now, my son. I must return to the other world.” The mother informed her son.

Inuyasha frowned. “Oh y-yeah… D’you have to?”

The woman didn’t reply, instead letting the lotus flower petals fall to the lake below.

“Look upon the water’s surface, my son.” The Hanyou kelt down, letting his gaze fall to the water. But his eyes widened upon seeing a younger version of himself.

‘It’s me… but just a little whelp…!’

“Remember, Inuyasha? Remember when you were young… How I would hold you like this… So close…” The woman walked behind the boy, having her face reflect onto the water.

‘Her face?!’

His head snapped back to the woman. “Wh-Who are- Who are-”

Smiling, the woman’s gaze softened at Inuyasha. “My dear and darling son… Be a good boy, now… Let mother embrace you.” She wrapped her arms around the boy, tightening her hold.

Struggling, Inuyasha glared at her. “What are you?!”

But his struggle intensified, seeing as this woman’s hands started to sink into the boy’s back.

“I will never let you go… Ever again.”

‘Curse this… Witch .’

Grimacing, [F/N] tried to move, but while doing so, she finally saw what was holding her down. It was the same species as that Jaken goblin. Or were they Imps?

Blinking, the surroundings turned more grim. Darker and toxic.

‘This was a damn illusion..’

A voice broke through the silence, trying to wake her up.

“[F/N]!” Myoga jumped on her cheek. “Be strong now, girl! Remember me? Myoga-? ‘Divine Grace’ - The Flea!”

His efforts didn’t do much, causing him to become depressed. “You poor kid… Bound hand and foot… Totally helpless…” The flea looked around before rubbing his hands together.

He stuck his beak-like mouth into the girl’s cheek, beginning to suck on her blood. But [F/N] quickly slapped him off of her.

She deadpanned at him, “Never call me helpless.”

Aye…

Glaring at the woman, [F/N] stood up and silently floated towards her so as to not startle her.

“My boy… My dear boy…”

But her voice was cut off by Jaken storming towards the woman before hitting her with a double-sided staff. “Nothing Woman! Still squeezing that poor doomed laddie, are ye?”

“Jaken-sama…”

The short, green Imp grinned. “Get what we’re needin’ and’ get it now! Where lie the last remains o’ this cur’s… Sesshomaru’s… Dear departed sire?”

[F/N] frowned. “ That must be that cute guy’s henchmen, Jaken…

Meanwhile, she was creeping behind the small imp, and Inuyasha was sinking further into the skin of the fake mother.

“The right… Black pearl…”

‘The right black pearl’ ? ‘Tis a game he’s playin’! Get me more!” The green imp demanded.

The mother, on the other hand, was hesitant. “Jaken-sama… If I probe any deeper, the boy’s soul will shatter-!”

“Then shatter it! Or it’ll be me facin’ Sesshomaru-sama’s cold wrath-!!” He was cut off by being punted by a flying kick.

It was [F/N] who did it. But she made sure to grab the staff in his hands beforehand. “ Heh . Score.” She smirked. Then she glared at the woman’s state. She frowned, quickly flying towards them at a rapid pace.

“Give him back!”

The teenager grabbed onto the boy’s arm and pulled with her Quirk activated. The mother gasped, quickly trying to keep her grip steady.

[F/N] gritted her teeth, pulling harder. But Myoga jumped onto her ear. “[F/N]... You‘ve got to awaken Inuyasha-sama’s soul!”

“How do I do that?!” She demanded.

“The Mu’onna, the ‘nothing woman’ ... She’s made up of the vengeful spirits of mothers who lost their children to famine or war. If you wake a soul that’s been caught by their spell… The body should come free.”

[F/N] nodded with determination.

But it faltered when she was pulled closer to the Mu’onna.

“I am so happy… Soon you’ll be my little one again…”

She fell to the ground, close to the lake bed. She groaned, but she blinked in shock when she saw the reflection. [F/N] smirked before launching her leg into the water, destroying the image.

Inuyasha, finally freed from the Mu’onna’s grasp, gasped as he took in deep breaths. [F/N] quickly wrapped her arm around his waist and launched herself and him into the air, away from her.

Huffing, the black-haired girl decided to ask the Hanyou a question. “Hey, you okay, Inuyasha?” She looked at him, only to frown when she saw his expression.

“It was… Just a lie… All a lie.” He gritted his teeth.

Before the girl could try to comfort him, a yelp came from her as she was struck down by a powerful punch. The two fell to the ground, but only Inuyasha was spared from the friction burns as he was held by the neck.

“But all for the best, dear brother. Now I know where the grave lies.”

[F/N] turned around, glaring at Sesshomaru’s smirking figure. “I never imagined that it could be in such a place… Can you imagine Sesshomaru being so blind?”

Choking, Inuyasha glared at the older DaiYoukai. “Sessho… maru…”

“Trust Father to hide his grave in such an odd place.” Squinting his eyes, the man continued. “ ‘The right black pearl’ ... Hmf. That must have taken a powerful bit of magic. He was determined to escape desecration, wasn’t he?”

The Hanyou glared at him, gripping onto the older man’s wrist. “What… Kind of lunacy… Are you babbling…?”

“Was the secret entrusted to you without your knowledge? Come along, then…” He thrust his index and middle finger into the boy’s right eye, gouging out whatever was left inside.

“And we’ll visit Father’s grave together!”

[F/N] and Myoga gasped in horror.

Between Sesshomaru’s two fingers was a small black pearl. Ignoring that, [F/N] rushed forward, barely catching Inuyasha’s falling frame.

“Ah… It’s no wonder I couldn’t find it no matter how thoroughly I scoured the earth… I had only one clue to the grave’s whereabouts…”

Helping the teenage boy up, the duo glared at the man.

‘A place one cannot see, yet cannot be seen… A place its own guardian can never look upon’ .” Chuckling, Sesshomaru smirked. “So clear now… That the ‘grave’ is the black pearl that he conjured into your right eye.”

Muttering, [F/N] couldn’t help but doubt that. “A grave… In that small pearl??”

Inuyasha huffed. “All this… for that pebble. Even… Giving that witch… The form of my mother…” He tugged himself free from the teenage girl’s hold. “You won’t get away with it!!”

He launched himself towards his older brother before he dodged. Smirking, Sesshomaru projected his own attack.

“I am rather busy. If you wish to delay me, I’ll have to kill you.”

But it never made its way to him as the Mu’onna took the hit straight on.

[F/N] gasped. “She… Protected Inuyasha… Why?...”

Myoga answered her. “She’s a demon born of a mother’s love for her lost child. If she sees Inuyasha-sama as a child in danger… What else can she do?”

Lying down on the ground, only her head being left unscathed, the Mu’onna gasped. “My… Boy…”

But she didn’t get to continue as Sesshomaru stepped on her remaining head.

“Worthless fool.”

[F/N] stayed silent, looking at the tall man in silent rage. Sensing this, the flea quickly tried calming her. “Please don’t antagonize him…”

Tsking, the girl muttered. “ Stupid, handsome face wasted on someone like him…”

Myoga nodded, agreeing with her.

Lifting up the staff the man got back from Jaken, he slammed it down onto the pearl. Nothing happened before the male head of the stick started laughing.

“The old man’s laughin’... That means the seal’s a-crakin’!” The imp grinned.

That’s when a dark light emitted from the small pearl. [F/N] frowned as a dark swirl of dark matter started to form after Sesshomaru and Jaken disappeared in front of their eyes.

“Inuyasha-sama! Bound after ‘em before the gateway shuts!” Myoga pleaded with the Hanyou. “Sesshomaru’s going to take your father’s treasure all for himself!”

“You think I care about some treasure ?”

Myoga stuttered. “B-But, Inuyasha-sama… Such a waste-”

“Shut up! Did I say I wasn’t going after them?!” He growled, gripping onto the leftover fabric of the Mu’onna. “Sesshomaru… You’re going to die!” He jolted up, making his way to the portal.

“[F/N]! It’s too dangerous, so you’ll stay-” As he turned around, he paused when he couldn’t see the girl.

But he did jump in shock when he saw the girl already halfway through the portal. “What? I need to punch your attractive brother, okay?!”

“Huh??!! You idiot! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!” Jumping after her, the two were now falling from the sky.

“I just wish to return the favor that he gave me…” She twitched, pointing to her aching back from his punch.

The Hanyou’s ears twitched.

Now fully turning around, the two gaped at the beauty of the tomb. [F/N] in awe while Inuyasha was in shock.

“Woah…”

“Huh…”

The two landed on a bird made entirely out of bone as they drew closer to the giant man’s bony framework.

“Father…”

[F/N] looked at the teenager in shock. “Huh?! You mean to tell me that this was your dad?!”

“You don’t see the resemblance?” The boy deadpanned.

“No offense, but you’re short compared to him.”

The boy huffed. “Hey…”

Myoga interrupted the two. “Inuyasha-sama’s father was a giant Yokai who was getting on in years. That’s his true form, free of all spells…”

[F/N] nodded as the flea looked at both her and the Hanyou. “The treasure blade laid to rest inside your lord father’s remains… That’s what Sesshomaru’s got his greedy eyes on!”

“Sesshomaru!”

“Hm?” Looking up, the DaiYoukai blinked as Inuyasha and [F/N] jumped down from the ceiling.

“This fight’s not over yet!”

Frowning, the boy unleashed his claws on Sesshomaru. Though the Hanyou became confused when his brother wasn’t seen. However, he turned around when he heard his mocking voice.

“What is this, Inuyasha?” Looking down from his seat on hardened flames, he scoffed. “Have you come to dig your own grave?”

Inuyasha tsked.

“Or might you too have come to try… For our father’s steel fang?” He gestured to the rusted blade in the stone podium.

Blinking, the silver-haired boy furrowed his eyebrows. “The fang…”

Myoga jumped onto the teenager’s shoulder blade. “Inuyasha-sama! Hop to it!”

“Huh? Myoga? Wha-?”

“Sesshomaru. You couldn’t, could you?” The flea stressed. “You couldn’t pull it out!!”

The DaiYokai said nothing.

But a few seconds later, his expression was void of any emotion. “And are you suggesting… That my brother can?”

Smugly, the flea taunted the elder brother. “You bet he can! Why else would your lord father hide his tomb in his eye, eh?!” Hurriedly turning towards the boy, whose shoulder he was on, quickly urged the boy to act.

“Jump to it, Inuyasha-sama! Now!!”

“Hm! What do I care about some rusted hunk of metal?! Sesshomaru! I’ve had enough..” He jumped towards his brother, attacking with his claws. “Of you walking all over me like I’m dirt !”

But once again, the DaiYoukai dodged.

“Your blows are wild, brother.” Sesshomaru mocked.

This angered the Hanyou. “I’ll kill you!”

The elder brother dodged his attack again.

Damn you!”

“Pah. Your attacks are as infantile as ever.”

Inuyasha launched himself at his brother. “You can’t lick him unarmed, Inuyasha-sama! The fang-

“Shut up!” He interrupted Myoga.

Using the silver-haired boy’s back as a trampoline, [F/N] then landed near the infamous fang sword. She pointed at it, looking straight at Inuyasha with a glint in her eyes.

“Sesshomaru can’t pull it out! But you might!!”

“[F/N]...”

“You’ll definitely get the upper hand if you do, right? Imagine his envious face when you wield it!! There’s no way you’ll want an opportunity like that to slip through your fingers, right??” She urged the teenager.

Silence ran through the area as Inuyasha complimented his choices. Then he decided.

“What do you think, brother? Would that just eat your guts out?”

“You’ll never succeed.”

Inuyasha smirked. “All of a sudden… I think I want this blade!” He grasped onto the handle of the rusted weapon, glaring at the DaiYoukai.

“I told you so! The Tetsusaiga was meant just for Inuyasha-sama!”

He pulled on the sword.

But nothing happened.

This confused [F/N], and embarrassingly, Inuyasha as well.

Flushed, the Hanyou gripped Myoga between his fingers, staring him down. “Hey. I couldn't pull it out.. Why’s that?”

“I- Ah, I don’t understand it either…”

“Thank you for that amusing interlude.” Sesshomaru voiced. But that was before he flew at the teenage boy.

“No Hanyou will ever possess the Tetsusaiga--Do you understand?!” He flexed his hands, showing off his flawless cuticles. “Now. Allow my poison talons.. To end this!!”

As soon as his hand so much as grazed Inuyasha’s kimono sleeve, a bright, toxic green gas appeared, melting the sleeve and wall behind the boy.

[F/N] glared at the elder man. ‘It’s almost reminiscent of acid…

But her attention was brought over to the Jaken imp, who was about to attack the already distracted male.

Huffing and quickly activating her Quirk, [F/N] kicked the little imp with a huff. “I hate third-partying! Unless it’s me, of course!” Smirking, she grabbed the staff it had and floated above the little guy’s reach.

“You’ll pay for that, you witch!” The imp jumped up, catching the heroine’s leg. [F/N] yelped, quickly trying to shake him off.

She succeeded, but she tumbled backward, tumbling near where the sword was again. She grabbed onto it for stabilization before gasping as she looked up in time to see Sesshomaru slam Inuyasha onto the ground.

“Hey! You damn bastard-!”

The sword slipped out.

“Uh-!”

The other three stopped to look at her.

She sweated, smiling nervously. “Ruh roh, amirite?”

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

[F/N] stood there nervously, gripping onto the handle of the blade.

Jaken gaped at the girl, sweating. “‘Tisn’t… ‘Tisn’t true !! If the great Sesshomaru-sama couldn’t… If the flea-bitten Inuyasha couldn’t… How in seven hells could she do it?!”

Both brothers looked at her in silence. But the younger boy glared at the older. He growled, clawing at the DaiYoukai.

“Never take your eyes off me !”

But his attack didn’t land again, as Sesshomaru appeared in front of the black-haired girl.

“You…”

[F/N] gulped, having the hand holding the blade be captured by Sesshomaru’s own.

Myoga sighed, “Lucky for you! Looks like your lord brother’s lost interest in you-”

“Shut up, bug!”

The heroine tsked, pulling at her arm. “Let go, you-!”

“What are you.. That you were able to draw the Tetsusaiga?”

The girl smirked. “Well, it’s probably-!”

“She’s not a part of this! Get away from her, Sesshomaru!” Inuyasha intervened.

[F/N] sighed after being interrupted again.

“Merely by being your companion. Alas, I’m afraid she is.” The man flexed his fingers on his free hand before hovering it in front of the girl’s face. “My talons bid you…” The same toxic green appeared.

“Goodbye.”

[F/N] gasped, covering herself with her arm, still clutching onto the sword.

.

.

“[F/N]...”

Inuyasha ran up to the remaining DaiYoukai, quickly reaching into the melted pile to reach out to the girl. But he got burned, unable to do anything to reach [F/N].

“She was only a mortal girl, after all. How dull.”

The Hanyou clenched his fist before glaring up at his brother. “Sesshomaru!!” He ran to him with his hand outstretched; his claws glistening.

“I grow bored with this. Its over.” Sesshomaru did the same, though with no expression.

But Inuyasha surprised him, as he was slightly faster, targeting his chest where a plate sat. His attack landed, breaking the chestplate.

Jaken sweat-dropped. “What in the name…! An eyeblink ago, he could scarce get in spittin’ distance!”

“Why so angry, Inuyasha? There are a million more where she came from…”

Inuyasha glared at his brother, bending his fingers. “This time… I’ll rip your bowels from your belly!” His eyes shifted behind him, looking at the melted remains of [F/N].

‘Stupid girl… You shouldn’t have followed! What a pointless way to die…’

However, the sword twitched.

Both brothers stopped for a moment, bewildered.

[F/N] gasped for air as she rose up from the pile of melted goo.

“Damn!! I thought I was a goner !!”

“uh..?”

She pulled her body from the floor, easily floating out of it. She then turned around, facing Sesshomaru with a glare. She floated next to Inuyasha, pointing the blade at the older man.

“Screw you, Ikemen! You tried to fucking murder me!!” She screeched in anger. [F/N] huffed, still glaring. “Just know I’ll make you pay !” After calming down, she turned towards the boy beside her with a grin.

“Here, Inuyasha.” She handed him the blade, causing the boy to sigh.

“Thanks.”

[F/N] smiled. “This sword is totes awesome ! Go use it!”

Inuyasha blinked. “Hey… What’s got you so pumped up?”

Sesshomaru hummed. “Of course… The shield spell… Shielded her .”

“Inuyasha-sama, don’t hold back anymore!” Myoga advised the Hanyou. “Bite the cur deep… With your father’s fang!”

The DaiYoukai sighed. “Another little joke…?” The whites of his eyes began to turn red. “Let us see what a Hanyou like you can do with the purity of the Tetsusaiga…” Smoke appeared around him.

“Against the equal purity… Of Sesshomaru!”

As the smoke engulfed him, his shadow grew in size. [F/N] gulped while Inuyasha scoffed. After the smoke dissipated, there stood a large dog, growling over them.

With wide eyes, the two teenagers shivered.

“O-Oh wow… He-He’s…”

“Back in his true form, that’s all.”

Gritting his teeth, Inuyasha tightened his grip on the sword before jumping towards his older brother. “It’ll be a dead form now!!”

As he hovered above the dog form of Sesshomaru, he swung the rusted blade to his forehead. The thing is, nothing happened.

“Huh?! Not a scratch ?!”

He quickly dodged the incoming bite from the DaiYoukai, glaring at his silver fur. “You bloody little dogsucker-what is this?!” The teenager jumped away as the dog’s saliva flowed to the floor.

“Hey! Hey!!”

“I thought this sword was supposed to slice anything!”

“Heads up!!

The boy yelped as Sesshomaru almost caught him with his claws. Myoga narrowed his eyes. “L-Listen while you can, Inuyasha-sama! That blade is a piece of your dear, departed father! You must have faith in its demonic powers! And never let it out of your grasp! Remember my words! That said…”

The flea jumped from the teenage boy’s shoulder.

“See you in the next life!”

Inuyasha gaped. “Hey! Stop, you!” He grit his teeth.

‘Curse him… What am I supposed to do? How do I draw blood?!’

The boy dodged another swipe.

“C’mon Inuyasha! What’re you waiting for??” The girl exclaimed.

The Hanyou paused, sweat-dropping before jumping over to be beside the girl. He looked at her with an irritated expression. “Now listen… That didn’t even make him blink, all right?”

“That’s true..” The girl huffed, furrowing her eyebrows. She frowned. “This sword was from your father, right? That means it has to be powerful enough to at least injure Sesshomaru, right?” She looked at him with hopeful eyes.

The boy looked away. “I wouldn’t be so hopeful if I were you. I’m strong enough… To survive his blows… But you’ll be jelly any moment now.”

“... You’re saying I have no chance against him, huh?” The girl sighed, looking down at the ground.

Inuyasha didn’t say anything, but when the girl didn’t either, he looked back towards her. He expected many things, but the girl sniffling was not one of them.

He flinched, panicking.

‘I… I made her cry?!’

Quickly, he shouted at her. “ Stop that! Now!!”

“Shut up, can’t you see I’m wallowing in self-pity?!” The girl screamed back.

“Shut up ! I meant, let me protect you! Do you hear ?!”

[F/N] blinked in shock. “Eh…?”

The boy stood up, glaring at the huge dog. “Just sit tight. And watch.”

The girl stayed quiet.

‘Now!’

As the boy got into a stance, the blade in his hand started to pulse, surprising the silver-haired boy. He looked down, pulling the sword closer to his face.

‘The blade… Has a pulse…?’

‘I can hear it… It has a heartbeat…!’

Meanwhile, [F/N] heard the same. ‘That sound definitely came from the katana…’ She tensed.

“Shut up, can’t you see I’m wallowing in self-pity?!” The girl screamed back.

“Shut up ! I meant, let me protect you! Do you hear ?!”

[F/N] blinked in shock. “Eh…?”

‘Inuyasha’s so strange… But his brother is worse, to be honest…’

[F/N] was broken out of her thoughts when Jaken came running. “Sesshomaru-sama! Inuyasha’s but a Hanyou! Chew ‘im up and spit out his bones!”

The girl had enough.

A gust of wind came rushing through, causing the imp to fly away with a high-pitched scream. [F/N], whose hand was in a flicking motion, smirked. She huffed out her nose before turning back to the fight.

‘You better fucking win this, Inuyasha.’

‘Suddenly I feel… So different… As if I know that this fight…’

Inuyasha swung the blade to Sesshomaru’s incoming paw.

‘Is mine !!’

The sword took him all the way up his brother’s forearm, drawing blood from the huge slash. Both [F/N]’s and Jaken’s jaws dropped as they heard the man’s pained roar.

The dog fell as Inuyasha landed on his feet.

As [F/N] took a closer look, she noticed that the sword in the Hanyou’s hands had transformed into a blade that resembled an actual fang.

Sesshomaru glared at the teenager as he huffed. The dog went to attack as Inuyasha brought the blade back to join in the duel.

“Goodbye… Brother!!”

He swung the sword before the DaiYoukai’s attack could reach him. His sword slashed off the remains of the man’s arm.

Jaken stuttered. “Sesshomaru-sama…?

The man disappeared as he jumped away. Jaken jumped after the DaiYoukai, screeching. “S-S-S-Sesshomaru-sama! Wait for me!”

[F/N] grinned, floating down from the vines above. “That was awesome, Inuyasha!!” But she jumped when the boy took a knee. She quickly ran towards the boy before kneeling beside him.

“Are you alright?!”

The boy started to cackle. “Thanks… Old man… You left me quite an heirloom…”

Myoga jumped onto the boy’s shoulder. “It’s not just the sword, it’s the man who uses it!” The flea smiled. “I never doubted you for a minute, Inuyasha-sama!”

[F/N] picked him up with her fingers, sneering at the flea. “Didn’t you run away, though?”

“H-Heh!”

Kaede hummed, checking out the small black pearl in his hands. “Ho… So inside this is the tomb of Inuyasha’s father, eh…?”

[F/N] nodded.

“But why were you able to draw that sword, [F/N]? Could it be that you are… ” Kaede looked at the girl with wide eyes. “... More than a mere mortal girl?”

The girl looked at the floor, humming. “I think it’s either because I’m human… Or because I train..” She flexed her arm, showing off noticeable muscle.

Myoga nodded. “I agree. Perhaps it’s because she hasn’t have a single bit of Yokai blood in her. The tetsusaiga is a magical blade crafted by Inuyasha-sama’s father… To protect his beloved, Inuyasha-sama’s mortal mother.”

[F/N] and Kaede hummed.

“So you see… The fanf of steel can’t be drawn unless it’s to protect a mortal !”

The black-haired girl jumped in realization.

“Shut up, can’t you see I’m wallowing in self-pity?!” The girl screamed back.

“Shut up ! I meant, let me protect you! Do you hear ?!”

[F/N] blinked in shock. “Eh…?”

‘So that’s the reason why he was able to activate the sword… Plus, Sesshomaru doesn’t seem like the type to protect any human he’d come across…’

The girl sighed.

[F/N] walked outside with a thoughtful look as she looked around for Inuyasha. That’s when she spotted him sitting in a tree, swinging the blade around recklessly with a grumble.

“Why curse you…? Why do you turn back into an old rusted stick?!”

The girl smiled. She walked closer to the tree with a small smile. “Hey, Inuyasha! I think I know a way you can activate the sword!” She gave a closed-eye grin.

The boy quickly jumped down with a reluctant look. “Go on, talk.”

“Just promise me this. Would you protect me, always?” She smiled, tilting her head.

‘Always’ ...?” The boy narrowed his eyes before knocking his knuckles against [F/N]’s forehead. “ What’s all this stupidity tumbling out your mouth? Did something get knocked loose in there?”

This caused the girl to become irritated. “Shut up! I’m trying to help you here!”

“That doesn’t mean I have to do something like that!!” The boy flushed, shouting back at her. “Listen, [F/N]. Once I’ve gathered all the shards of the Shikon Jewel, I’ll be a true Yokai.”

[F/N] deadpanned, sighing.

“With this , I can fight anyone who tries to keep me from those shards! Do you think I want to waste it protecting you?!”

The black-haired girl was irked. “ Sit .”

The boy fell, face-first.

“I can’t believe I actually gave you a great clue! Screw you, Inuyasha!” [F/N] walked away, huffing.

“Wait! Show me how to use it! Come on !”

Myoga sighed. “Inuyasha-sama… You’ve got to do something about that attitude…” He sweat-dropped.
