Arthur Pendrake is a survivor of a catastrophic fire and rots with guilt every day. His hero complex gnaws and pushes him to do more to correct the world's wrongs. Yet bills need to be paid, including his ailing mother’s medical treatments. So he’s slated to become another cog in the corporate machine.
But fortunes change when Gwen, a Rising Tide operative, steals valuable information that threatens Pandemonium, one of Eden’s biggest megacorporations. Information that Arthur unknowingly picks up, dragging him into a world of espionage, megacorp politics, and mercenaries at every corner.
Can an unprepared dreamer with lofty ideals and a desire to do good survive in a world of such evils? Or will he have to unmake himself and cast aside his dreams to survive?
