Meet Edward. He’s nothing special. At least, that’s what he believes—hardly worth talking about.So instead let’s meet Edward’s girlfriend, Georgie. She’s gorgeous. Or, as she likes to put it, georgious. Golden hair cut into the pixie style of the ’60s actresses she adores, wide sapphire eyes, a ever-smiling face like a sunny day. All atop the tall, lithe body of a runway model. You can’t miss the moment she enters a room, standing a head above the crowd, her stance as confident as her takes on the French New Wave.
Sometimes Edward thinks her only flaw is poor judgment—or maybe poor eyesight—because he can’t fathom why she’d choose to be with him of all people. At times he’s convinced his sole purpose is to persuade Georgie she could do better. Fortunately for him, Georgie tends to have her own opinions on such matters.
