Hearing-aids And Lectures

Summary:

It all started with Shinsou not being able to sleep due to a loud blond. It's not even his father this time. He drags himself out of bed to go investigate. He steps on something and hurts his foot. Bakugou is annoying as usual. Afterwards they keep getting shoved together. Just his luck, right?

Notes:

This is my first ever fic on here. I can't promise it'll be great but I'm trying my best. I've written a few before but I never been this dedicated or posted them. If you have any advice feel free to share! I'm going to try to make them as accurate to their original personalities as I can.

Chapter 1: Ouch My Foot

Chapter Text

Shinsou stared up at his ceiling. He gripped his sheets and huffed. He shifted around and rolled onto his side. Nope. He tried to turn onto his back once more. That didn't work either. Eventually, he pulled his pillow over his head. Shocking to no one that it didn't help either. He sat up and glared at the wall. Why in the world was he put beside Bakugou's dorm room!?

He already couldn't sleep as it is. Are they trying to finish him off? Maybe Aizawa secretly hated him on the inside. He debated pulling the pillow over his head again and hoping to ignore all the noise. Unfortunately, it wouldn't work since he's been struggling for an hour already. He casted his gaze over to his alarm clock. It was already almost 10pm. Bakugou shouldn't even be awake.

Weird.

He's been in class 2-A for about three months now. He wasn't super close to his classmates since he did claim he wasn't here for friends. Anyone could tell his shell was cracking though. There's been a few people he's talked to more often. One of them was not Bakugou. Every time they talk it usually turns into petty banter. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling of wanting to check on the other. It wasn't like him to be making all this noise. At least not when he's normally supposed to be dead to the world.

He grumbled and dragged himself out of his bed. Shinsou really wanted to take the blanket with him but he didn't need to look that pathetic. He walked over to his door and shoved his feet into his slippers. It didn't take him long to wander over to the room beside him. In the process he ended up stepping on something.

Ow. Ow. Ow! Why was he doing this again!?

He grunted and picked up whatever it was. He didn't really look since it was dark and he just wanted his three hours of sleep.

He banged on the door a few times. As he waited a yawn slipped through him. Soon enough he leaned against the wall.

A good minute passed with no answer. He would've assumed Bakugou was ignoring him but he didn't get any snarky response. Odd. Really odd. Bakugou practically had a sixth sense just for him.

“Bakugou? I know you're awake. I heard you throwing things against the wall. Open the door. I want to sleep and you're ruining it.” He spoke in a somewhat quiet tone. He wasn't trying to wake the whole floor.

When he got no response again he started to grow irritated. He wasn't going to stand out here all night. He started to bang on the door again. Only it was much louder this time.

It was enough. His eyes were met with tired red ones.

“What do you want Eyebags? I'm busy.”

Rude but not unexpected.

“What are you doing? You're keeping me awake. Don't act like you didn't hear me. Quit banging stuff against the wall. You do live in a dorm remember?” His tone was a bit more harsh than he originally planned. He was tired, okay?

Bakugou kept his eyes focused on something else rather than him.

“I'm looking for something. Mind your business. Plus, you don't sleep anyway. Don't be such a crybaby.” He resorted before trying to shut the door.

Shinsou quickly stopped him. He knew Bakugou would go back to his noise making.

“Like what? I'm not gonna let you keep making a bunch of noise TNT.”

“WHat-!” Bakugou struggled to keep his voice low.

He gave him a glare and waited.

“Ugh. I'm not telling you what it is. It's personal and really none of your business.” He replied while rolling his eyes.

Shinsou stood there and thought for a moment. Wait, didn't he step on something? He opened his hand to look at a little black object. It was some sort of case.

“Like this?” He asked, holding up the case for Bakugou to see.

The blond immediately launched himself in Shinsou's direction. He quickly dodged out of instinct. Good thing he's been training more often. Bakugou wasn't someone to mess with during a fight. He'd still probably lose to him.

“Hold it. I'll give it back as long as you agree to go to sleep. I'm not listening to you and all your grumbling.” He lifted the case up high. He knew the blond would have to jump to try and get it. Good thing he was taller.

In mere seconds Bakugou was already jumping to get it. They weren't allowed to use quirks in the dorms. They have had too many past incidents. So, Shinsou did have the advantage here. What he didn't expect was to be pushed down onto the floor. Stupid Bakugou being all strong.

He hit the floor with a thud as the case slipped out of his hand. It fell on the floor a few inches away from him. He noticed the lid was open. It must have been from the impact. He blinked as he saw ear pieces in there. They didn't look normal though. It took his sleepy brain a moment to realize they were hearing ads. Huh. He should've expected that but he didn't. How long has he been hiding those?

He couldn't get a word out before Bakugou's door slammed shut. While he was lost in thought the guy had picked them up and ran back into his room. So much for asking anything.

“That was something..” He muttered out while standing up.

Shinsou brushed himself off and went back to his dorm room. He kicked off his slippers and landed back on his bed. A sighed escaped as he let his eyes fall shut. There was no noise. Much more peaceful. Of course, there was still his brain. It was pushing hundreds of questions at him. After all that it didn't even matter Shinsou wasn't able to sleep a single wink.

For once he was productive in his life. He ended up arriving at class an hour early. He couldn't sleep anyway, so might as well make the most of his time. It didn't take long for him to have his textbook open. He read a few notes he had written down.

Suddenly, there was a smack to his head-

He grunted and sat up rather fast. He rubbed his eyes trying to figure out when he actually fell asleep.

You were snoring.

He immediately rolled his eyes. That's not true. He ran a hand across the area Bakugou hit. “Did you need something or are you just being annoying like normal?”

Bakugou hit him across the back of the head. Again.

“Quit that!” He now held onto the back of his head.

Bakugou only scoffed before shoving his hands into his pockets. “You're not allowed to tell anyone.”

Shinsou just squinted up at him. “About what now?-” Yes, he sounded like a fool. He was still half asleep. Despite being Bakugou's punching bag.

“Don't act like a braindead pigeon! You know what I'm talking about! Last night?!” He stomped the ground like a toddler.

Shinsou lowered his arms and turned to face him. “Oh about the hearing aids. Right?-”

He couldn't get another word out.

Bakugou had covered his mouth in seconds.

“Don't talk so loudly. No one else knows about them. You weren't supposed to either. It's not like we even talk to each other- Did you just lick my hand?!”

A smirk formed on his face as Bakugou jerked his hand away. The blond was quick to glare at him. He had no shame.

“Calm down Bombshell. There's no need to be all weird about it. Who exactly do you think I would tell? I don't have friends here.” He watched as Bakugou's glare deepened. “It's your business like you said the night before. I have no reason to tell anybody.”

That seemed to be enough to calm the male down for the moment. He blinked and relaxed in his seat as Bakugou walked away. Good. Now, he could go back to his ‘studying with his eyes closed.’

He awoke again to a paperball being thrown at his head. He blinked quite a few times to process what was happening. He quickly understood that Bakugou threw it at him. As to why he wasn't sure.

He glanced around to see that class just started. There's no way the guy would want to wake him for class. Maybe Bakugou just needed to use him as his wasted paper bin. Regardless, he was lucky enough to avoid a lecture from his father thanks to him.

Chapter 2: Stupid Coffee Thermos...

How is it possible he runs into Bakugou again? He's just trying to get his life together.

Chapter Text

It didn't take long for things to return to normal. Shinsou hasn't talked to Bakugou for about a week now. It certainly wasn't anything he was worried about. He had to focus a lot of his attention to training, so they really had no reason to even cross paths besides in class.

It's not like they ever did before.

Shinsou began to build himself a routine. Every morning he'd find himself in the UA gym. It was usually empty in the morning so he took advantage of that. It's better than staring up at the ceiling, failing to sleep.

He needed to build his skills to catch up to his classmates. His fath- Aizawa (he really needs to get used to that) was busy, so he needed to find a way to train by himself. It wasn't very helpful though. How could he work on brainwash when Aizawa wasn't there?

He flopped down onto one of the exercise mats. He was done for today. He already lifted some weights and just finished up running. He hated it but Aizawa was right. If they didn't work on their physical training then any villain could catch them. He couldn't always rely on his quirk like others.

He disliked how far behind he felt. Would he ever actually be able to catch up? His classmates were amazing compared to him. He raised his hand to the ceiling in thought. Dang..here he was still staring at a ceiling. What an idiot he was.

He was snapped out of his thoughts as the door opened. His eyes caught sight of Bakugou and Kirishima walking in. That caused him to lower his hand. He didn't need to seem like a complete freak.

He's never bumped into either of them here. It was a bit surprising considering he's been doing this for a week now. Maybe they won't bother him?

Suddenly, he remembered that he was laying on the mat like a loser. He should probably get up.

Luck wasn't on his side.

Bakugou appeared in his vision. He watched as the male reached to his ear and fidgeted with something. He already knew what he was doing.

Are you taking a nap? Get up Eyebags.” Bakugou grumbled before lightly kicking him.

For once he listened and sat up. He let his gaze go over to Kirishima. The guy was already over by the weights. Did Kirishima even know he was here?

“No but why did you have your..uh- thingys off?” He wasn't sure if Kirishima knew, so he wasn't going to risk saying hearing aids. Even if he was pretty far in the distance.

Bakugou just rolled his eyes. “He's loud and I don't feel like listening to him in the morning. I promised to help him train.” He then moved to turn them off. “Don't feel like you're special. Just had to make sure you weren't dead or something.” Those were his last words before walking off.

And you don't care about your classmates. Yeah right.” He chuckled to himself. It almost seemed like Bakugou heard him as he received the finger.

Deep inside he didn't feel like one of them. Not that he would admit that. He didn't need a class hug or anything like it. He would never reach their level. He was on his own for the long run. He didn't need connects.

His eyes stayed on Bakugou and Kirishima for a few minutes. He watched their quirks in action. They were so strong. He quickly left the gym. It was a stupid thing to be upset about. He shook his head and went to get ready. He was already done with his workout anyway.

Did you see Shinsou run out like the building was on fire?” Asked the redhead as they say on the bench for a small break. Of course, Bakugou didn't hear him.

There was a strong tap on his shoulder. Bakugou looked over to him. He tilted his head, knowing Kirishima would repeat his question if it was that important.

He watched Kiri’s lips move. Oh. Brainboy. He did run off weirdly. He didn't think much of it until now.

He waited for Kirishima to take a drink of his water. He then discreetly turned on his hearing aids. His hair was getting pretty long. It was enough to hide them for anyone who didn't know.

Maybe he needed the bathroom. Who cares.” He said while turning to look towards the spot Shinsou was laying before. He noticed that something was still laying there.

“I'm serious Bakugou! It seemed a little strange. We all know the guy doesn't like to run.” Kirishima has heard him complain about it in one of their classes together.

Bakugou rolled his eyes and stood up. “If you're worried, go ask him. You all talk to him. Not me.” He stated while going over to the mats. He picked up a thermos. He peeked inside to see coffee.

Shocker that the insomniac would drink coffee. Super helpful.

His back was turned so he didn't see the look Kirishima gave him. “Like you don't look at him all the time.” Those words were unheard as the redhead was smart enough to mutter them under his breath.

Bakugou turned and held out the thermos for Kirishima to see. “Here, give this back to him during class.” He waved it around as he walked back to his companion.

“No way! You found the container Bakugou. That means it's your responsibility to return the thermos to its owner. Remember, it's important to train to be a hero at all times. Even little things like returning lost items is manly!”

Bakugou growled loudly in response to all that.

Why did he talk to someone who was as bright as the sun? What an idiot he is.

“Fine, I'll return the stupid thing if you shut up!”

Kirishima nodded with a smile.

Bakugou sent a blast his way. Kirishima knew him well enough to be hardened and ready for more.

Shinsou was more tired than normal. He couldn't quite figure out why.

He got his usual amount of no sleep. So, what was different?

He tapped his fingers against his desk. He was in the middle of not listening to his father's lecture. He practically jumped out of his skin as something thudded against his desk. He looked up to see his thermos. Oh, that's what it was. Wait..what?

It took him another moment to see Bakugou bumped his whole desk against his. “Uh, what's happening? Also, why did you have that?” He kept his voice low enough so his dad wouldn't have his head for not listening.

“Do you pay attention to anything? We have to do a dumb project together. I complained for about ten minutes before I threw my desk over here.” He spoke while crossing his arms.

“As for that-” his eyes followed Bakugou's fingers as he pointed to the container. “You left it in the gym when you ran for the bathroom.”

“I- Huh, wait?! I didn't run off to the bathroom! You jerk!” He glared at the male and held his thermos close as if Bakugou abused it while it wasn't in his sight.

“Children. Is there a problem? No? Good, get to work.” Shinsou immediately tensed up at the voice behind his back. He didn't need to turn around.

“Course, Da- Aizawa.” He nearly slipped in front of Bakugou. He almost hoped Aizawa would end his life with his binding cloth.

He risked a glance and saw his father's eyes. They weren't too happy. He gave puppy eyes as an apology.

It seemed to work as the tired man walked away from them.

“Okay, okay. Let's work on this stupid thing.” He suddenly went blank and looked at Bakugou. “What are we supposed to do again?”

The blond pinched his nose. “We have to write a report about how each other's quirks work. Usually, I wouldn't talk to you but none of us got to choose our partners. Also, I don't know much about it, so explain Mindfreak.”

Shinsou just stared at him.

“What? Don't look at me like that!”

“I'm not just going to tell you so easily. The least you can do is ask nicely.” He could be stubborn like Bakugou when he wanted. Especially with no sleep.

The blond was nice to return the thermos but they weren't friends. Shinsou will not be talked down to.

Plus, he needed to know a little more about Bakugou's quirk. The hothead won't back down. Shinsou knew this because he's seen his grades. This project has to be worth a lot since the guy folded. The blond was never seen doing these.

“You're so irritating. What do you want me to do? Beg? Not happening. You're lucky I'm not slamming your head into the wall.” He scoffed and broke his pencil in the process.

“Thanks Bakugou. So sweet of you to avoid doing that.” He shook his head and heard as the bell went off. “Look, we have to do this. Neither of us can fail. Let's meet up at the gym in the morning tomorrow. We can talk more about it. That way you can't run off after you gather enough information about mine. Remember, I need to know about yours too.”

The blond was about to resort but Shinsou already stood up. He knew the guy wouldn't give him the time of day after he was done.

He pulled his bag off the hook and was the first out of the classroom.

Maybe that's the reason he didn't notice Bakugou still had his eyes on him. With no glare in sight.

Chapter 3: Punching Bag

Summary:

Shinsou beats the life out of a punching bag. What did it do to deserve such treatment.

Chapter Text

This time the gym was not empty when he arrived. His eyes immediately fell onto Bakugou who was stretching. It seems as if the male didn't notice his presence yet. He cleared his throat but still nothing.

Shoot. His hearing aids were probably off.

Now what was he supposed to do? Go tap Bakugou? No thanks. He didn't need an explosion to the face. Besides, he shouldn't even be freaking out this much.

It's not like he was complaining about the sight anyway. Seeing him all stretched out was pretty attractive. No! What was wrong with him? Shut up gay thoughts.

He actively tugged at his hair and shook his head to distract himself. He needed to stare at something else. Anything else.

That seemed to be enough for Bakugou to look in his direction. “What in the world are you doing now idiot?”

Shinsou didn't have an answer. What was he supposed to say? Staring right at you. That would make things even worse.

He was given time to stall as Bakugou turned his ears back on to hear the world. It was still weird to think about. God his brain was dumb. Who phrases it like that?

Ah.” Good response Shinsou.

“Do you need to borrow these Mindfreak? Seems like you're the one with hearing problems.” Shinsou snapped his head up completely at the insult.

“No, leave me alone. I'm just waking up.” That was likely not any more convincing than ‘ah.’

“Sure. Now tell me about your quirk.”

Wouldn't you like to know?”

“Duh, that's the whole reason I'm here. You id-” With that Bakugou fell under his quirk.

Usually, he would never do this thing. Bakugou was a special case. It got old listening to him complain all the time.

“Feel it and pay attention. Really, this'll be a good way for you to learn. I'm not trying to say you're dumb or anything. I know how you think sometimes. Not that you'll likely admit to it.”

Experience goes a long way.

“I'm sure you're freaking out in there. Instead of being like a puffer fish, just relax.” He watched as Bakugou's body loosened a little. “Listen, my quirk is complex since it's more of a mental thing.”

He tapped his fingers against his thermos as he thought for a moment. “Alright, here's what I'll tell you. Remember how you feel in this state. Describe that first. Afterwards you can add whatever small details I tell you that stick out.”

He let out a deep exhale, keeping his hold on Bakugou. It took him a moment to realize the male wasn't fighting it. Could he actually be listening?

I can only control up to two people for about three minutes or one for about fifteen minutes. Then I'll get a huge migraine. I don't think you really will care about the last part. Hm, you know the basics but I'll remind you. I have to ask a question and receive a verbal response for me to hook the target. If they bump into anything then they snap out of it.” He then let his hold go of Bakugou. “Or I can just do that.”

He watched as Bakugou took a moment to come back. He didn't complain. “Good enough..I guess.”

Shinsou was about to speak but Bakugou cut him off. “My quirk is heavily based on how much I swear.” With that he listened as Bakugou went into detail.

"You saw how I acted during the war. More pain gave me enough strength to charge in at opponents."

They spent the next half hour exchanging all of the information.

It was enough for both of them to pass with an A.

His fist slammed heavily into the object before him.

Shinsou breathed out heavily as he let the punching bag have it.

He was stressed. His grades were doing well but his training in class was not. He's falling behind. What is he supposed to do? He can't quite figure out the answer to that. Maybe he has to push himself even more?

Aizawa still doesn't have time. He understood why but it still was upsetting. Usually, he would get to see his dad at some point. He's been super busy after the war. His attention was mostly on Izuku. He wasn't jealous. Izuku really was a nice guy. If anyone deserves it then it was definitely him. He needed something to lift his spirits, so Aizawa brought out the big guns. Eri. Unfortunately, he still needed to be around to supervise her.

He swung his hand back before letting one final blow on the bag. He leaned his whole body into it. Ouch. He let himself fall to the ground after.

He took a few minutes to catch his breath then moved to push himself up. Instead, he quickly winched. His wrist hurt. He cradled his hand. He blinked and looked up confused. The punching bag looked pretty rough. He was a bit surprised to see what he did.

Before he could do anything else the gym doors opened. He turned his head to see who was walking in. Maybe it was one of his classmates? Unfortunately, he was not that lucky.

Of course, it just had to be his dad.

He just turned his head back towards the direction of the punching bag. He heard as Aizawa’s footsteps approached.

Well, I think we need a new one of those.” He muttered while observing the bag. His eyes then fell onto Shinsou.

Shinsou kept his eyes glued to the floor. “I'm sorry.”

Aizawa reached out and placed his hand onto his son’s head. “I'm not mad. Really, I actually came to apologize for being so busy lately. I think Izuku is finally getting a little better. Though, it seems like you're having troubles of your own.”

Shinsou stayed quiet, feeling as Aizawa's hand rubbed his head gently. It helped calm him a little bit. “It's just hard to train by myself. You know how it is. My quirk can't really improve.”

He peeked to see Aizawa nod in understanding.

His uninjured hand found its way to rub his neck nervously.

Aizawa removed his hand and walked over to the punching bag. “You should ask one of your classmates to train with you. I know any of them would be willing to help.” He suggested while taking the bag off the hook and throwing it to the side.

Shinsou curled up into a ball, thinking it over. “I don't know. They are a lot. Most of them are asleep this early.”

Aizawa sighed in response. “If you need me to, I could always make an assignment for training. It wouldn't look good if Nezu figured out why I did it though.”

Shinsou immediately shook his head. “No way! That wouldn't be fair. Like you said it's good to be logical with things. That's definitely not the right option.”

He could see Aizawa smile a little in the corner of his eye.

Good job. That's the answer I wanted to hear. You'll figure it out kid.” He gave Shinsou a pat on the head. “I need to get ready for class and so do you. So, get up and start making a plan.

Shinsou nodded but made no move to stand yet. His eyes trailed after his father. Aizawa paused as he got to the door. “Oh, you also can't hide anything from me. Get your injury checked before coming to class. That's in order Hitoshi.

Dang and he almost got away with it too. If it wasn't for his meddling dad. Wait, what was that phrase referencing? He's been watching too much stuff on the Internet.

--

He sighed as laid on one of the cots in Recovery Girl's office. She instructed him to rest for fifteen minutes. Her quirk took some time to sink. At least he had time to think. He closed his eyes. It was pretty quiet in here.

It got a bit louder as time passed since more students came in with their own injuries.

"Shinsou?"

His eyes quickly opened. He was confused to see Mic standing beside him. "Aizawa told me what happened. You doing okay?"

He huffed out softly. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just went a little crazy. Wait, aren't you supposed to be teaching a class?"

Mic shrugged to the question. "Aren't you supposed to be in one?"

Fair enough.

He felt as his father rubbed his head. "Be careful Hitoshi. You've already done a lot little listener. Don't let those thoughts get to your head." Mic gently hit his head before standing up straight. "Recovery Girl said you should be good to go back to class now. She didn't know if you were asleep."

He nodded and sat up. His teachers were way too good to him sometimes. They are all aware of how little sleep he gets. "Thanks. I'll be there in a minute."

As his dad walked off he felt a little better.

Notes:

Another one done! I really hope it's making sense so far. I almost feel like I'm rushing it too much.

Chapter 4: 4 A.M. Training

Chapter Text

There were a few loud bangs on the door. It was enough to wake him up, considering it was the middle of the night. That was his guess. He didn't actually look at the clock. His eyes weren't working yet. He grumbled loudly and sat up. He hated his life. He just bearly fell asleep too. After about ten seconds he pulled himself up, taking the blanket with him.

Shinsou stumbled around as he blinked away sleep. He quickly moved and hid his current unknown cat in the closet.

Shinsou then went over and shoved open the door. He rubbed his eyes before squinting them open to see Bakugou.

What?” He muttered while trying to adjust to the hallway light. It was definitely still dark outside.

He adjusted the blanket on his shoulders. He didn't want to look pathetic in front of Bakugou a few weeks ago but he couldn't care right now. He had been sleeping. That never happens.

“You're training with me.” Bakugou demanded.

He just leaned against his wall and failed to understand what was going on. Training happens in the morning, so why was he needed right now? He could always ignore Bakugou and climb back into bed. His thoughts started to scatter after that.

He didn't realize his eyes slipped shut until he felt a flick on his forehead. “Hey!” Shinsou grumbled and rubbed his head.

“Don't ignore me and sleep on the wall! Get up! You're coming with me. I saw that punching bag yesterday. You did a number on it, so maybe you aren't too weak after all.” He kicked Shinsou's shin to get him moving.

His eyes struggled to stay open as he turned to go back into his room, slamming the door on the blond. He didn't know why he was listening to Bakugou. It took him a few minutes to change into his gym clothes and grab all of his stuff.

As he opened the door he wondered if the guy would still be there. Impressively, he was. “What time is it anyway?”

Bakugou rolled his eyes and grabbed his arm, tugging him along. “4 A.M.

Shinsou felt as his eyes widened. “Why this early?" He would usually get up around 6 If he slept. Even if he didn't sleep he would never leave his room sooner than that.

“Quit complaining! Do you want help or not?!”

Shinsou just squinted and hung his head as they walked to the gym. It was mostly Bakugou dragging him.

Shinsou tumbled and rolled onto the mat. This match against Bakugou was horrible. He's been punched in the face far more times than he could count. He groaned against the plush material and didn't move. He was done.

He felt a dip near his side. He didn't have the strength to move his head and look.

“You held up more than I thought you would.” Bakugou mumbled to himself while taking a sip of his water.

Bakugou.” He spoke out weakly.

This was his chance. The guy clearly was awake early and he already beat him half to death.

“Could you maybe..help me with my quirk?” It was painful of him to ask but he needed help. His dad did say to ask someone.

Bakugou agreed with no hesitation. That was easy.

Hold on. That's suspicious.

“Wait, you actually will or did you give me a concussion? Maybe I'm hearing things.” His words came out muffled as he pulled his face off the mat.

“Don't make me repeat myself Eyebags. I'm willing to help because I want to figure out how Deku broke out of it. He can't be the only one who is able to do so.” He grumbled while crossing his arms.

That made a lot more since. Shinsou didn't really care. Bakugou was strong so he'd likely be pretty helpful.

He didn't find himself responding to Bakugou's statement. He just rubbed his face. He's definitely going to have a few bruises before the first period is over. He glanced at his phone to see the time. They would need to leave to get ready in a few minutes.

He suddenly perked up as he heard Bakugou speak again. He nearly forgot he was there. He was a bit tired now. Maybe this would actually help him sleep tonight.

“Let's make this a daily thing. Some days we'll spar and others train with your quirk.” He then stomped off to grab his bag. “4 AM. If you're not up then I'll leave without you.” With that the blond exited the gym.

Oh no.

They both were going to use the showers. His brain was not ready for this.

“Shinsou?”

He immediately jerked up from where he was sitting on the common room couch.

Kaminari forced him into watching him play video games with the Bakusquad (even though Bakugou wasn't there). He offered for him to join but Shinsou shook his head. He didn't have any interest. He was sticking around to make the guy happy. Not that he would tell him that.

His eyes flew in the direction to see Midoriya. Shinsou gave him a soft smile before excusing himself.

It wasn't long before he was standing in front of the green haired male. “Glad to see you out here.”

He's gotten a lot closer to him this year. He was the only one that knew Aizawa was his father.

Midoriya has been stuck in his room a lot lately. The reason was obvious but no one voiced it. Instead, they did their best to help. Shinsou couldn't blame him though. Practically being the main character in a war must be hard.

Midoriya ran a hand through his hair. “Yeah, I was looking for you.”

That caused Shinsou to become a bit confused. “Um, what for?”

“Aizawa mentioned you might need help training your quirk?” He mumbled, making sure no one else could hear.

“Oh, I found someone. Thank you though.”

Those words were enough for Izuku to tilt his head. “Wait, really? Who Kirishima?”

Shinsou simply shook his head. “Bakugou.”

“Oh, that's good then! I'm surprised Kacchan actually agreed to it.”

Shinsou simply nodded to that. He didn't want to admit the blond’s reasoning. He was about to speak up again when he heard a shout from the kitchen.

Come eat or die losers!”

He glanced over towards the kitchen.

For the past week Bakugou has been making dinner for everyone. Shinsou could tell it helped the blond relax a little. Everyone took turns buying ingredients besides Bakugou in return.

Shinsou has yet to have a plate of Bakugou's supposedly amazing food. He would always be in his room.

He watched as everyone started to make their way into the kitchen. The whole class would sit and eat dinner together. Shinsou just couldn't bring himself to feel like he deserved to be a part of it.

“Guess we should go, huh?” Midoriya chuckled beside him.

“Nah, you go on ahead. I'm not hungry.” He walked off before Midoriya could protest.

He was starving. Though, he never ate dinner. Actually, he didn't eat much at all. Usually, he got caught up in training or homework. It was just becoming a bad habit.

He'll get some coffee later.

Luckily, it didn't seem like any of his classmates noticed. He got on the elevator with ease and slipped into his room.

He was quickly greeted by his cat.

He gave his cat a few scratches. “Sorry, I wish I could let you explore the whole dorm. Unfortunately, my Dad would kill me. Even if he does love cats too.”

He threw his bag down onto his bed. He decided he could work on some homework.

It didn't take long before he got to studying. His cat joined in by sitting on his lap. He was happy enough like this.

He didn't need to have dinner with all his classmates. They probably didn't even realize he was missing. He was never made to fit in.

His eyes found their way back to his cat This little black creature meant the world to him.

Chapter 5: Jellybean

Chapter Text

A loud knocking ruined his peace. Shinsou grumbled as he rolled off his bed. He literally had just one more paragraph to write before he was done with everything.

“Quit banging TNT!” He shouted while moving to open the door a crack.

Bakugou stood there glaring at him. As if he wasn't the one demanding for Shinsou's attention.

Before Shinsou could ask, a container was shoved into his hands. He blinked and looked down. “Huh?”

He definitely didn't expect for the blond to bring him something.

“You are not going to be the reason my food goes to waste! You hear me!?” He pointed at Shinsou. “We're going to be doing more training. Don't start slacking off.”

Shinsou was speechless for a moment. When did Bakugou start to care at all or even really notice him? It couldn't have been because he found out about his secret, right?

What was this feeling? His chest grew a little bit warmer.

Shinsou was about to speak but paused. He felt a brush against the back of his leg.

He forgot to lock up his cat! No!

Bakugou couldn't see him!

He leaned completely against the wall so his cat couldn't try to squeeze through, keeping the door close to him.

It was enough to get a look from Bakugou.

What are you doing?”

Nothing. Thanks for dinner. You didn't need to go to the trouble.”

“You're hiding something.”

No.”

Bakugou raised a brow in response. “Whatever. I don't care. You're weird Mindfreak.” He shrugged before turning away.

Meow.

Shinsou's eyes widened.

Bakugou immediately turned back to face him.

“Haha. Got ya. Really sounded like a cat don't I?” He asked, knowing the blond wouldn't believe him. He had to try.

“Do you think I'm stupid?!”

Sometimes.” It slipped before he could stop himself. Oh no.

Suddenly, he was on the floor in his own room. Bakugou right on top of him.

The container of food slid to the side. Somehow it was still safe.

I-..”

He was completely speechless. Bakugou was right there. He didn't need to be this close. It was messing with him. Why though..?

Bakugou gripped the collar of his shirt. “Watch it.”

His eyes seemed to lock onto Shinsou's. It made his heart go into overdrive. Neither of them said another word. They laid there close to one another.

Soon enough his cat squeezed his way between them like the attention hog he was.

It came in useful right now. He felt as Bakugou let go.

Shinsou used that time to push the blond off. Bakugou didn't fight him and stood up.

He immediately kicked the door shut then moved to stare at the cat. “Seriously? You have that thing in here?”

Thank god he was not going to address the tension that just happened.

“Don't talk about Jellybean that way! He's a he and a cat. Cats are not things.” His voice got really low as he spoke. It was annoying when people called them an it. As if cats were just useless items.

Bakugou blinked in response. “Whatever. Still didn't answer my question.”

Shinsou sighed and looked down at his best friend.

“I found him behind the building a few weeks ago. It was raining and he was soaked. He looked so sad and pathetic. I couldn't leave him out there.” He rubbed at his arm. His eyes never met Bakugou's.

“If you get caught you could be kicked out.”

“It's a risk I'm willing to take.”

Bakugou rolled his eyes. “Your life. Better make sure to hide him better. You're lucky I'm the one who saw him. If it was any of the other extras they would've been squealing by now.”

He was right about that. Mina, Kirishima, and Kaminari would probably be shouting up a storm. They got so loud sometimes.

Well maybe you wouldn't have seen him if you didn't knock me back.

He moved his hands up and fixed his hair instead of saying that. He really wanted to.

Jellybean ran over and started to sniff Bakugou. He watched as the blond tensed up a bit. Must not be used to animals. It wouldn't be a surprise to him.

He let them do their thing while he moved to pick up the container of food. He placed it onto his desk where it was safe. “Isn't it a hassle cooking for the whole class?” He found himself speaking out loud before he realized.

Bakugou crossed his arms. “No. My parents made me cook a lot before I moved here. It's fine. They complained about packaged food a lot and I got tired of hearing them, so I stepped in.”

Even the angriest person he's even met was able to fit in so well sometimes.

He wasn't here for friends but he felt like he couldn't do it even if he tried sometimes. Everyone was so close..way before he joined them.

“Quit making that ugly face!”

That was enough for Shinsou to snap out of his self-pity party.

“Sorry?”

Bakugou was quiet for a moment. It looked like the male was observing him. That was enough to scare him into talking.

Aw, so you like cooking for everyone? I know you were soft.” He smiled as a fist came at him. He dodged with ease by some unknown luck.

“Of course not! I'm just doing it so I don't have to listen to them!”

Right.”

“I don't have to explain myself to you! Just be ready for tomorrow!” He said before, leaving without another word.

Shinsou waited for him to leave before he let out a sigh. His eyes made their way back to the food Bakugou brought.

He went over to inspect it. It looked good. He knew he wouldn't eat it though. He grumbled and returned to his bed. He really needed to finish up the last bit of his homework.

Jellybean sat by the door. He scratched at it a few times before giving up. Shinsou was a bit confused by this. Usually, Jellybean never actually cared about anyone else besides him.

He rubbed his little head. “I'm not sure why you're curious about him. Bakugou is just a very angry bomb. Nothing interesting.” He mumbled to his cat while keeping his eyes drawn to his homework.

Jellybean let out a sassy meow before settling down beside him.

Before Shinsou went to bed that night he made sure to feed Jellybean, giving him a little extra tonight since he was apparently curious about Bakugou. His own food gifted by Bakugou went forgotten.

He sighed as he laid in bed that night. He felt Jellybean curl up beside him. Everything was quiet tonight, yet he couldn't fall asleep.

Training was going to be a lot tomorrow.

Chapter 6: Coffee Pot

Notes:

Special Bakugou POV

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Bakugou stomped heavily against the ground as they made their way to the gym together. He couldn't believe he's been able to tolerate Shinsou for a week already.

It was even starting to become a routine for them to walk together.

His body shivered slightly as a gust of wind blew by. The temperature has been dropping fast these days. Good thing he brought his hoodie. It was a little big on him but he didn't care. It helped him stay warm.

It's been a struggle to heat himself up for training so he often uses clothing to help. He knew they would be working on Purple's quirk today, so it didn't really matter.

Though, the guy had extra deep eyebags compared to normal. Bakugou knew he probably wouldn't last nearly as long. He had a bit of a guess as to why he was getting like this.

After all, he was the one making dinner. He always noticed when Shinsou's presence was missing.

Idiot! He shouldn't even notice that. What was his brain thinking! He isn't one to care about people like that.

“So, are you going to open the door or have a staring contest with it?”

That voice was enough to snap him out of his thoughts.

“Shut up! Don't be stupid!” His hands gripped onto the handle and shoved it open. He watched as all the lights started to flick on.

His eyes then risked a glance in Shinsou's direction. The male stepped into the gym and set his stuff down.

Bakugou followed suit. It was cold outside.

He immediately froze as he saw Shinsou pull out a full coffee pot from his bag. Not a cup. The whole fucking pot.

He about had a heart attack on the spot.

Who does that?!

He ran over and went to grab it from the lunatic before him.

Shinsou was quick to back up, holding it close to his chest. He nearly looked like a feral animal. “I need it.

“No, you don't. You're nuts. How did you manage to bring it without spilling it?” He grumbled while continuing to slowly approach him.

Shinsou stared at him. “Not my first time.”

Bakugou felt like the whole thing was a joke. Was he dreaming right now?

He went to reach for it again but Shinsou held it high.

It made him flashback to when he couldn't reach his hearing-aids before. “Not this again.”

Bakugou was quick to kick his shin. It was enough for Purple to loosen his grip.

He was able to get a hold of it. “Where the hell is your thermos? You are not allowed more than one cup. I don't care if I have to brew your gross crap. No pots.”

He could go to the effort at this point. He was not dealing with an idiot completely full of coffee. The purple haired male couldn't sleep as is.

Shinsou hissed. Literally hissed.

“I'll break the whole thing.”

That seemed to be enough for Shinsou to give up. He slowly just sat down on the exercise mat.

“When was the last time you slept? Clearly, you're going insane.” He grumbled while walking closer to him.

Shinsou just looked up at him. “A few days maybe? I lost count.”

That didn't make him feel any better.

“We are not working with your quirk today.”

Shinsou immediately tensed up. “I can do it. I need to.”

His tone was a little off. Bakugou was more observant than he let on.

What do you mean by that, huh? Exhaust yourself completely, so you're completely useless in a fight? How stupid.”

He saw Shinsou's eyes lower to the ground.

“I'm not gonna be the reason you can't function in class.”

Shinsou nodded slightly but it was obvious he wasn't listening.

He moved and flicked his head. “Quit thinking. It's not helping.”

Shinsou grunted before rubbing his head.

Bakugou decided he would make use of both their time. “Take a nap here. You already walked here with me. There's no point in going back.” Shinsou would just have to rush back out to class. “I'll wake you when we usually leave.”

He glared as Shinsou scoffed lightly.

“You really think I'll be able to sleep now?”

He growled a bit as he hit Shinsou in the head. “You might as well try, idiot. Better than your shitty plan of drinking a whole pot of coffee. If you can then I'll knock you out. Especially if you keep being a brat.”

Shinsou seemed to consider his options. Soon enough he just laid down on the mat. Bakugou knew he would be fine there. He's been thrown back on them quite a few times. Honestly, they are comfortable.

Bakugou turned away from him. He put the coffee pot nearby and in his sight. Who knows. Eyebags might launch himself onto it if it's unguarded.

About ten minutes into his training Bakugou glanced behind him. He hadn't heard any kind of remark.

His eyes found their way to Shinsou's soft expression. He was definitely asleep.

Bakugou shook his head. He removed the hoodie he was wearing then he went over to Shinsou.

He slipped it under the guy's head so he could sleep a little better. He then realized what he was doing and backed away. He felt his cheeks heat up a little.

What was wrong with him?

He ignored the feeling and went to stretch. Anything was better than thinking. Especially right now.

By the time his training was over his body was exhausted. He just let himself fall back. He ended up not being too far away from Shinsou. Somehow he was looking at the guy again.

He ended up watching him for a good minute.

That was not normal.

He quickly reached out and shook the guy's arm. “Get up. It's time for us to get to class.” He then pushed himself up.

Shinsou curled up slightly around Bakugou's hoodie before waking up. It took him a second to understand what happened.

“Why are you on the floor?” Purple mumbled out while squinting up at him.

“I'm not!” He jumped up and turned off his hearing aids. “Quit being stupid and get ready! I'm leaving!”

Bakugou was out of the gym in seconds.

He just couldn't look at Shinsou any longer. The guy was doing things to him.

Bakugou has never had any kind of experience like this before. He needed to find a way to stop this…whatever this was.

Notes:

I swear I'm going to have them interact in other places besides the gym! I just don't want to do the standard truth or dare with friends trope. Other people write it well but I've read it so much. I want mine to be different.

Chapter 7: Hoodie

Chapter Text

What in the world was all that.

Shinsou still hasn't really processed what happened. All he knew was he now has Bakugou's hoodie. The blond fled the gym so fast he couldn't give it back.

Classes were over for the day and he had yet to run into the explosive bomb. Where did he go?

Shinsou huffed as the wind seemed to pick up. It was really cold. He looked down at the hoodie in his hands.

Would Bakugou really care?

Nah.

Shinsou immediately slipped it on. That's better.

It fit him pretty well. That was surprising though it was big on Bakugou before. He wasn't sure why he even remembered that.

Shinsou continued his walk. He was hoping the exercise would help him sleep later tonight. His nap earlier helped but he was still exhausted.

He was dead on his feet by the time he made it back to the dorm. It was only 6 o'clock but he was considering just calling it a night.

All of his thoughts stopped as he felt a tug on his- well Bakugou's hoodie. He looked over to see Mina.

That caught him a bit off guard.

“Um, yes?” He asked softly while giving her a very confused look.

She gave him big puppy eyes and that immediately caused dread to build in his stomach.

“Could you let me braid your hair? It's getting longer and I really want to get better. I swear I won't torture you with pictures!” She placed her hands together while keeping her eyes on him.

He knew there was no chance he could say no to her face. “Fine..”

Sometimes he was a lot nicer than he let on. Especially for someone not here to make friends.

He was immediately dragged over to the couch.

He blinked as he saw three other victims.

Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero. Out of all of the choices he wasn't too surprised. They would usually be chill with this stuff.

Kirishima already had half his hair done. Shinsou guessed that's what Mina was working on before stopping to trap him into this mess.

Denki had quite a few small braids. He looked like he was enjoying every moment of it. Sero had one as well but was simply leaning into Kaminari’s side.

Shinsou wondered if he would be able to sneak away before she was done with her boyfriend.

“Well, sit down! Don't stand there looking all sad!” Mina chuckled while gesturing for him to sit on one of the couches.

He sat down and just took out his phone. He listened as he heard quite a few of his classmates talking. Everyone was in a good mood as usual.

It didn't take him long to pick up on Bakugou's shouting. He was making dinner again. At least he had a chance to return the hoodie later.

After about fifteen minutes Mina was suddenly behind him.

He yawned and just lowered his head. In reality he didn't mind this. He did want to help his classmates out when he could. Even if it was for something like this. He could tell Mina really did want to improve on her hair skills or whatever people call it. It's making her happy. That's what matters.

He leaned against the couch as she worked on his hair, closing his eyes.

“Whoa your hair looks awesome already Shinsou!” He could tell that was Kaminari.

“It does fit him pretty well.” Kirishima chuckled.

Shinsou would've rolled his eyes if they were open.

He could tell how focused Mina was from how tense her hands felt. He didn't think it was that big of a deal. It's not like he would keep his hair like this all day.

Are you wearing Bakugou's hoodie?” He didn't expect that question.

Suddenly, his eyes were wide open. “Uh- no- maybe?” He muttered out quickly, feeling embarrassed for some reason.

She beamed from behind him, squealing.

“It's not like..whatever you're thinking. I just need to give it back and I got cold earlier.” He spoke out quietly, hoping that Bakugou wouldn't hear.

“You wouldn't have it for no reason. Bakugou doesn't just give people his clothes. Oh, this is so exciting!” She was loud enough to attract the others' attention.

“Don't make a big deal of this. It's nothing. Please.” His voice seemed to be enough to make her stop.

She frowned slightly but nodded. “Okay but I sense there's something.” She would definitely be looking around. Whatever, he could deal with that later.

Bakugou suddenly flew out of the kitchen. “Eat!” Though, he paused as he noticed what Mina was doing.

He just gave them all a judgement look and went back to the kitchen.

Shinsou could tell that Bakugou wasn't wearing his hearing aids. He was lucky.

Mina sighed and let his hair go. “Sorry, I get carried away sometimes. Anyway, thanks for letting me use you to practice.”

Shinsou stood after she let his hair go. “It's okay. I just don't want the attention. Especially when there's no point for it.”

Mina looked confused but then smiled. “Let's go. Dinner from Blasty is waiting!”

“I'll join later. I need to grab something from my room.” He said while moving to pick up his bag from the couch. Mina nodded and went to the kitchen.

He started to walk to the elevator before he felt something tug at his hood. It was enough to make him freeze. He looked behind him to see Bakugou there, staring at him.

He yelped slightly and froze.

Here!” He tugged the hoodie off and held it out to him.

Bakugou looked down at it. “I didn't care about that.” He then shook his head and glared. “You're eating dinner with us.”

“How did you even know where I was going?”

Just cause I can't hear doesn't mean I can't feel vibrations.” He grumbled out softly, so no one else would hear.

Well, he's got a point there.

“I was trying to grab something from my room.”

Bakugou read his lips and rolled his eyes. “Like what?”

Huh?”

“Don't play dumb! What were you going to grab?!” He shouted.

Shinsou couldn't really think of anything.

“Right, then you're coming to have dinner. Hurry up, the others are already eating it.” Bakugou said before turning around. Shinsou followed him, hating his own existence.

You don't have to eat with everyone but you're taking a plate.

“Okay.”

He knew his response fell on deaf ears.

Chapter 8: Dinner Is Dumb

Notes:

Warning ED is mentioned slightly. Just be aware.

Chapter Text

Shinsou did not like this.

Eating in front of people was not easy for him. He judged the food on his plate. It looked like quite a few calories.

It was completely full of food. He would usually only eat half the amount. If that. Mostly if he had no choice. That would usually be the cause with his parents. Aizawa and Hizahsi didn't need to know what was going on. He's already been giving them enough trouble.

It's been a good two days since he's actually eaten anything. No one really noticed. Well, maybe. It seemed like the blond had an idea.

He really didn't like that.

Bakugou didn't need to know he had stupid problems.

He fidgeted around with his fork. He had yet to take a bite of anything yet. He really didn't want to. Why did he listen to Bakugou and actually sit down to eat with everyone. It felt like there were so many eyes on him.

Everyone else was already more than halfway done. They were all talking and laughing. It was enough to nearly give him a panic attack on the spot.

Soon enough he felt a gaze on him. It caused him to look up. Bakugou. Of course.

The blond was nearly done with his own food, so why was he looking over here?

Shinsou immediately took a few bites out of pressure. He took his time to chew, focusing on the taste. It should help him get full quicker. Not that he was hungry..he wasn't.

Bakugou stared at him a little longer before looking down again. Maybe he didn't really notice after all.

At least that's what he had to hope for the time being. He ate about half the plate before he felt sick. That was too much already.

He didn't bother to try to get anything else down. His stomach was already turning. He hated this so much. He just moved to stand up.

A few of his classmates looked his way but he ignored the looks. He went to toss his food and quickly made his escape.

He got about halfway out of the common room before being tugged back again.

Is my cooking that bad or something?”

Bakugou, shut up!”

Bakugou blinked slightly in surprise. He didn't really know what he said wrong. Shinsou could tell. Maybe he shouldn't have snapped like that.

I'm just tired, okay? Drop it.” He said while pulling away from the blond.

Who knows if the guy even caught all of it. He didn't really care right now.

Before Bakugou could say anything else he left.

He lifted a hand and placed it against his stomach. This wasn't good. He felt as his legs began to shake. He was going to be sick. He had to get it out of his system. Right now.

He found the nearest bathroom and threw up.

Shinsou didn't expect Bakugou to show up the next morning. He still felt bad for yelling at him. When he's in that mind thought..he just can't think.

He went over and opened his door. He was already dressed and ready to go.

Suddenly, more things happened that he didn't see coming.

One: Bakugou looked like an absolute mess.

Two: Jellybean ran right past them both into the hall.

Oh, crap!”

He quickly pushed himself past Bakugou and ran after his cat. That caused him to miss the angry male putting something down on his desk.

A few moments later he heard a loud grumble behind him along with following footsteps.

“Jellybean!” He whisper-shouted.

He couldn't chance waking his classmates. Plus, he'd be at risk if they saw his cat.

“Make him run in a circle! I'll go the other way!” Bakugou demanded before turning to get to the other side of the hall.

Shinsou did as he was told. Jellybean was too busy having fun and running from Shinsou to notice Bakugou. He came to a halt and Bakugou was able to grab him.

Shinsou made his way over to Bakugou and took his cat back.

“Thank you.” He sighed before stopping. “Wait, why did you help me- Didn't you say it was my life or something before?”

Bakugou crossed his arms. “It is but I never said I would tell anyone about your secret.”

Shinsou gave him a confused expression in return. That didn't make sense. “You wouldn't be telling them either way.”

“Shut up, Eyebags.”

That made Shinsou pause altogether. Right.

“Sorry..about before. I was just tired.” He muttered while beginning to bow.

Bakugou kicked him so he stopped. “I wasn't upset. If you don't like my food though then just tell me. I don't like when people sugarcoat things!”

“No, no! It wasn't anything to do with your cooking?! It's good. I swear.” He said while holding Jellybean a little tighter. Nothing painful of course.

“Really? Don't think I'm unaware that you didn't eat the container full of my cooked food I gave you before either.”

Shinsou was completely stunned that he somehow knew that. “What are you talking about? Of course, I ate it all.”

He had given him the container back during one of their days of training together.

The food was scrapped out. Only an idiot couldn't see that.”

Bakugou was so observant sometimes. It was disturbing.

“Ugh, you're such a pain! No, your cooking is good! There was a different reason for that.”

Bakugou only scoffed in response.

He would take that. At least he didn't question him. That's the last thing he wanted right now.

“Anyway, what is wrong with you?” He asked before he could stop himslef. Oops.

Bakugou's face quickly squeezed up in rage.

What did you just say to me?!

Before Bakugou could yell more he pushed them both back into his room.

Don't push me!

He heard the blond complaining while he set Jellybean back down. The cat rushed over to Bakugou's legs and rubbed on him. “Make him stop doing that!” Bakugou wiggled to try and escape his cat.

“You never answered my question.” He spoke calmly while looking over to his desk. He suddenly noticed a different thermos there.

Wait, did Bakugou actually make him coffee?

Shinsou could sort of recall him mentioning something like that before. He didn't think that the male was actually serious about that though. He already did enough favors by making the class dinner.

He went over and picked it up, giving Bakugou a look.

“Nothing is wrong with me! I just- woke up late. Don't worry about it. Yes, that is for you! I don't drink useless dirt water.” He started to shout as Jellybean began to try climbing his leg. "Get off you freaky creature!"

He listened to the blond and took a sip of the coffee. It was delicious.

His heart started to pound in his chest. He knew it wasn't from the caffeine.

He tried to quickly distract himself from those thoughts. Bakugou really didn't look to good. He couldn't help but be a little worried. Despite what TNT just shouted.

Chapter 9: Another Long Day

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

There was definitely something wrong.

Shinsou blinked as Bakugou laid on the exercise mat. He never won against the blond in a spar, yet here he was.

He definitely got a good few punches in. Today was different though somehow. Bakugou fought back a lot less than normal. He was a bit slower with dodging his attacks as well.

You know..this doesn't feel as satisfying as I thought it would.” He mumbled while looking down at his fists.

Bakugou didn't make any effort to get up.

That was enough for Shinsou to look down at him. The male had his eyes shut but he wasn't knocked out or anything.

Are..you good there?”

It was enough for Bakugou to finally open his eyes. “Of course I am. I'm not weak.”

“Then..why are you just- uh..laying there?” He knew he sounded like an idiot. He's never seen the blond like this though.

Something just had to be off. He couldn't quite figure out what just yet.

“Am I not allowed to lay down?”

Shinsou rubbed his chin a bit.

He then moved and sat down beside Bakugou. The guy looked confused but didn't sit up. “What the hell are you doing?”

He ignored Bakugou and placed his hand on the guy's forehead before he could stop him.

He immediately retracted his hand. “You're burning up! No wonder you're extra cranky.”

Bakugou's eyes widened as he sat up very quickly. “No, I'm not!”

Shinsou moved and started to tug his hoodie off.

“Hey! What!? You can't just do that!” Bakugou tried to pull it back down over his tank top.

“You stole my coffee pot. This is simply payback.” He then actually managed to get it off of Bakugou. “It's warm in here already. You'll make yourself worse.”

Bakugou glared at him and grabbed his hoodie back. He didn't try to put it back on though. “I didn't ask for your help! Leave me alone!”

Shinsou thought this over for about three seconds. “Nah, I'd rather be a pain.”

Bakugou rolled his eyes and got up completely. “Whatever. I'm going to class.”

He couldn't even pretend that he was surprised. Bakugou is an idiot. Of course, he would still go to class with a fever.

He knew this was going to be another day where Bakugou causes himself trouble.

Shinosu huffed as he basically threw Bakugou onto his bed.

He passed out during their class training. There was a lot of shouting. He was the only one who didn't overreact.

Recovery Girl calmed everyone else by explaining it was just a high fever. Not high enough to worry about the hospital.

What he was surprised about was his father picking him to take Bakugou back to his dorm. Maybe this was revenge for the punching bag.

He moved to take off the guy's shoes. This felt a bit weird. He's never actually been this close to Bakugou. Were they even actually friends? That didn't feel right.

He looked down as the blond slept. His hair sort of fell onto his face. It definitely got messed up as he ate the floor during training.

Shinsou reached up and brushed his hair out of the way without even thinking about it.

Wait. He's heard about this a lot.

Romance movies, books, and fanfics.

No! He did not like Bakugou!

It has to be bad timing. Who would want to sleep with a bunch of hair in the way? That's why he did that.

Not because Bakugou looked really adorable like this even though he's sick.

Shinsou pulled himself away completely and tugged at his own hair.

He liked Bakugou! Ah, crap! What is wrong with him!? How did he not realize this sooner? No wonder his chest has been feeling all weird.

Today was just not on his side. He heard a grumble sound through the room. It didn't take long for the blond's eyes to open afterwards. For a moment they simply stared at each other.

“What are you doing..?” Bakugou mumbled while moving to sit up. It seemed to take him a moment to realize he was in his room. “How did I end up here? What did you do to me!?”

Shinsou blinked as all the questions came out. He then slowly lowered his hands from his hair. At least Bakugou was no longer paying attention to him.

“You passed out during training. Aizawa forced me to carry you back here.” He explained while he shifted around. "I'm not even going to bother trying to understand your last question."

Bakugou glared at him before moving to rub his face. “I'm not even that sick. Taking me back here is so unnecessary.”

Shinsou scoffed and walked closer. “Okay, so your normal is passing out during training?”

Bakugou was about to respond but they both paused as his door opened.

Shinsou glanced behind himself only to see his father. Huh? Shouldn't he be teaching class?

Aizawa gave him a look before turning his attention to the male. “Quit bickering with each other. Bakugou lay back down. If you make yourself worse I will send you to the hospital. No excuse.”

For once Bakugou listened in seconds. They all knew how much he hated hospitals.

Aizawa then turned to him. “You're staying with Bakugou until classes are over for the day. If he's unsupervised then I'm certain he'd sneak back into his other classes.”

Shinsou had a feeling this wasn't the first time Bakugou actually got sick. He huffed and went to speak. “Why did you pick me for this though? Wouldn't he have preferred someone like Kirishima?”

He heard two different answers.

Absolutely not.”

Wait, he'd rather have him here than Kirishima? He must've misunderstood somehow.

Punishment.”

He decided to focus on his father's response first. “Punishment?” What did he even do?

He tensed up as Aizawa pulled a black cat out of his scarf. “Did you think I wouldn't notice him? I dropped off your assignment for class and he ran to me.”

“Uh- well..you weren't supposed to ever have a reason to go in there.” He mumbled and took Jellybean from Aizawa.

Jellybean escaped from his arms. He watched as his cat went and jumped onto the blond’s bed, curling up on the guy's chest.

He just focused back to Aizawa. “Are you going to take him away? Please don't..” He mumbled the last part a lot quieter.

“I'm not a monster but you will be facing consequences. Don't think you can get away with this just because you're my son and you know my weakness for cats.” He said while giving him a light glare.

He started to freak out, knowing Bakugou heard that. Though, as he turned to look he was asleep already. He really must not be feeling too good.

“I never thought that in the slightest. I just can't resist cats. You know this.” He then looked down as a bag was shoved into his arms.

“Here, this stuff is for him. It's mostly just medicine and soup if he ends up getting hungry.” He then moved to leave. “Don't taunt him too much. Have fun.”

He watched as his father left. He was speechless. This was so weird. He shook his head and moved to sit in Bakugou's desk chair.

He looked back over as the guy slept. He was cute but It felt creepy just staring. Especially since Bakugou had no idea about his feelings. Soon enough he just closed his eyes and tried to think about something else.He didn't even know if Bakugou liked guys. He should quit while he's ahead.

He found himself looking up how to get rid of a crush. It should be easy, right?

Notes:

Shinsou doesn't know how crushes work.

Chapter 10: Movie

Chapter Text

“Get off of me!” There was a lot of noise.

“Don't just sit there staring at me like that!”

Another thud.

Soon enough something hit Shinsou right in the face. It was enough to wake him. He didn't even realize he fell asleep.

“Quit acting like you were sleeping through everything and get this cat off of me!” Bakugou shouted as Jellybean sat curled up on his chest. Still unbothered. It seemed like his cat was happy to be cuddled up close.

Shinsou almost wished that was him. What who said that. Certainty not his brain since he needs to dispose of these feelings.

Shinsou remembered that he was curled up on Bakugou's floor. He could recall his back being sore from sitting at his desk chair so he moved down here.

He grabbed the pillow that was now on the ground (that was definitely the thing Bakugou just threw at him). He just hugged it and pressed his face against it. “I actually was.”

He heard Bakugou complain some more but it faded out pretty quickly. It became a nice peaceful background noise.

The next time he woke up he could tell some time had passed.

He sat up feeling completely confused. This is why he never took naps. He could hardly remember who he was when he first woke up. He felt around and could tell he was still on Bakugou's floor. Though, there was a blanket on him now.

How did that get there?

He squinted and saw that Bakugou was sitting at his desk doing homework. It didn't seem like he knew that Shinsou was awake yet.

The room was a lot darker. He could tell the blond must've got up to turn off the light at some point. Did they both sleep for a while or was it just him?

You're hot.” He mumbled while still being half asleep but it was enough for the guy to turn around.

What?”

He blinked and realized what he said. “Are you still hot-? Fever? Sick?” He stumbled over his words like an idiot.

Bakugou turned to face him completely. “I think you might be the sick one.” He looked over Shinsou before standing up. “My fever is gone. It went down a few hours ago. Not that you were aware since you decided to do a horrible job of watching me and nap on my floor.”

“Good point..but we all know you wouldn't have wanted to be watched over.” He felt as Jellybean rubbed against his side. “Are you done annoying Bakugou?” He yawned through his question.

All he got was a meow response.

Bakugou pointed down at his cat. “That little monster wouldn't leave me alone! All you did was sleep through it!”

Shinsou chuckled slightly as he picked up his cat. “He was trained well.” He then checked his phone and noticed it was late enough that he could leave. “Do you need me to stick around?” He really did need to work on his homework.

“Nah, you've been annoying me anyway.”

“What?! I didn't do anything to you!” He frowned as he looked over to Bakugou while crossing his arms under the blanket.

"You snored the whole time. That was pretty annoying."

"I don't snore!" He grumbled while throwing the blanket off now.

The blond just smirked before turning off his hearing aids.

Shinsou rolled his eyes and picked up Jellybean. Time to go work on boring class work and get away from this jerk.

His plan went to waste. He got about halfway done with his homework before he was dragged down to the common room by Kaminari.

“Can't this wait? I really do have to finish my assignments.” He whined as his arm was pulled.

“No way! It's class 2-A movie night! You're not allowed to miss out!”

He just sighed as they made their way into the room. The whole class was already here. Even Bakugou. He was surprised to actually see him here.

He felt as Denki let go of his arm. Good enough for him to escape away from what would probably turn into a snuggle pile. All his classmates were wayyy too cuddly for his liking.

He took the time to slip away. He went and sat on the same couch as Bakugou. The blond was laying down but there was one open cushion.

He looked back up to see Kaminari flop down on Sero and Izuku. Good thing Bakugou is not like that.

Bakugou grumbled as Shinsou sat down. It was enough to catch his attention. “What’s up with you this time?”

Bakugou glared up at him. He looked a little rough still.

“They woke me up and dragged me down here. I thought it was for something important but I was wrong.” He rubbed his face while whispering, so they wouldn't overhear.

Shinsou watched him as a question formed in his mind.

Did you not tell them that you're still sick?” The blond didn't have a fever but that didn't mean he felt great. Bakugou probably brushed off any of their concerns before they told him what they had planned. Idiot.

His glare turned towards the TV. Well, there was his answer.

“Do you need me to make up an excuse so you can go back to your room?”

“Why are you being so nice lately..aren't you still annoyed by my yelling or whatever? It's freaky.”

You're yelling is peaceful in a way. It makes me understand that you're around. I can't be annoyed with you if I'm too busy admiring you. Oh my god..shut up brain!

Shinsou turned his attention away and gently tugged at his hair. “No reason. Aizawa just told me to make sure you don't get into trouble. I haven't done anything more than that.”

Bakugou didn't give him a response.

Shinsou didn't ask for one.

He couldn't pay attention to the movie as it began to play. All he could focus on was his heart beating a million miles an hour.

With time he was slowly able to calm himself down. Bakugou was literally just laying there. He shouldn't be all nervous. He snuck a glance and nearly lost it.

Bakugou had his eyes closed so he assumed he wouldn't stay awake much longer. That wasn't the problem. The guy's shirt had lifted a bit as he got comfortable, showing off his muscles.

Shinsou slowly adjusted himself to curl up into a ball, making sure no one else had noticed him. This was awkward.

He now kept his eyes directly on the screen. Nothing else. He could do this. It was just one movie. Bakugou was literally not talking to him. He was just grateful he wasn't aware of his situation right now.

“This movie is so cute!” A shout from Mina.

It caught his attention. She was laying across Kirishima. He noticed as the redhead nodded in response. A few of his other classmates agreed.

If they asked him what he thought about the movie his response would be Bakugou's muscles were too distracting.

He was down so bad for the blond beside him.

Chapter 11: Assignments

Chapter Text

Shinsou felt a tapping on his head. It wasn't enough to bother him.

For the second time today he ended up falling asleep. His body was obviously trying to catch up on it. He snuggled into his pillow. It didn't help as the tapping increased.

Soon enough his whole body started to get shaken around. He whined as he tried to get comfortable. He just wanted to sleep.

He huffed before opening his eyes. He didn't know why he was being woken up this time. He assumed he was late to training with Bakugou or class.

What he didn't expect was to see Bakugou's face so close to his own. Wait, what?!

He quickly pulled himself up and wiped away the drool. He looked down to see that he was actually clinging onto Bakugou for dear life. His face had been pressed against his chest. No pillow in sight.

He wanted to die.

All he could do was stare at the blond. He was talking but Shinsou didn't take in any of the information. It felt like he was the one who needed hearing aids.

Suddenly, he was punched in the head.

“Ow!” It was enough to snap him out of it and let go.

“Quit staring at me! Get up! You're making me sweat to death.” He wiggled, trying to get Shinsou off.

Shinsoh complied and sat up. He looked around seeing that everyone had already disappeared. “When did I fall asleep?”

Bakugou rolled his eyes. “About halfway through the movie. Your weight was enough to startle and wake me up. Thanks to you all the extras started to freak out.”

That means..Bakugou let him actually sleep on him for a while. He didn't know if he should be generous or embarrassed.

“Sorry? You could've moved me sooner.” He stretched slightly and noticed that Bakugou made no move to actually get up yet.

“Whatever. It wasn't a big deal..besides the snoring. I fell back asleep. It's not like you were super heavy or anything.” He could tell the blond lingered on those last few words.

Shinsou has lost quite a bit of weight. It showed in his uniform the most. It nearly hung off his figure these days.

“I can't believe you're actually being nice to me Bombshell. What did I do to deserve your secret soft side?” Shinsou, of course, was trying to get a rise out of the blond as usual and keep him away from the topic of weight.

“Nothing. Considering my tank top is currently covered in your drool.”

That made him shut up.

“Oh, they are both awake now!”

He looked up so fast he nearly fell back onto Bakugou.

There across the room stood Mina and Kirishima.

The redhead looked apologic. “Sorry, I just came back down to turn off the light for you two. Though, I don't think it matters now.”

Mina was too busy looking excited. She slid across the room towards them. Her phone was out stretched towards them. He looked down only to freeze.

It was a picture of them both cuddled up and fast asleep.

Shinsou felt his face grow red.

He couldn't look away from the picture though. They both looked so comfortable, yet they were hardly even friends. He probably shouldn't have such strong feelings.

Mina jumped away as Bakugou tried to get the phone. She was quick to run while he chased her around. She tossed the phone to Shinsou. “Keep this safe for me!”

They sprinted across the whole dorm floor.

He didn't pay much mind to that though. Instead, he swiped to the next picture. One that Mina hadn't shown them.

Bakugou was awake while Shinsou was dead to the world. He was looking at him. It seemed like he might've actually been playing with his hair.

Wait, did Mina throw him the phone on purpose?

He quickly turned it off and set it down on the table.

Seconds later Bakugou threw himself at it. He jumped back slightly. He could only stare as Bakugou moved and raised it out of Mina’s reach.

They were still going back and forth. He could hardly pay attention. Instead, he got up and walked off towards the elevator. Maybe he could get a few more hours of sleep and ignore his thoughts.

He grumbled and slammed his head into his desk. He was falling behind in a few classes. His homework was getting difficult for him to understand. It didn't help that the rest of the class was so noisy.

“Are you okay?”

Right. Izuku was right in front of him. Of course, he heard the loud thud.

“Yeah, just..thinking.” He glared back down at his assignment.

"That's an interesting way to think.." Mumbled the guy in front of him.

He didn't bother to respond. He was already lost in his head again. It looked like a lot of the class was struggling as he paid more attention. It made him feel a little better but it still wasn't that helpful. How was he supposed to pass if he couldn't understand the assignments?

Aizawa was resting in his sleeping bag so they all had time to work. Shinsou just wasn't getting much done.

He overheard as Iida and Momo were quickly crowded with questions. He was glad not to be them. He gripped his pencil a bit tighter as he tried to think. What was the answer to this question? It should be simple.

“Bakugou, can you help me? Pleasee!”

“Hah?! No way! Study more you idiot!” Bakugou grumbled as he hunched back over his own work.

A few of his other classmates bugged Bakugou as well. It seemed as though he was basically done with his work. Good for him.

Shinsou scribbled down a few answers but..they just didn't seem right.

Eventually, he just placed his head into his hands. He was going to fail all of this. He shouldn't even be here.

It was easy to feel as he started to spiral while staring down at his paper. All the words started to blur together. He raised his hand and bit into the side of it rather roughly.

He flinched as a bag was thrown into his face. It was enough to make him stop. “What the hell?!”

To no one's surprise Bakugou was now in front of him. “Quit that. If you're so hungry then just say so.” He blinked as Bakugou slammed a protein bar onto his desk.

It didn't take an idiot to notice the blond caught onto his true intent and decided cover for him. Bakugou knew what he was doing and that scared him. “Um..right. Thanks.”

Bakugou pulled up a chair and sat in front of him. “I'm helping you first since the other extras are too annoying.” He said the last part louder for them to hear.

Shinsou heard whining in the background.

“You don't need to. I'll figure it out-”

It was impressive Bakugou could tell he was stressed over his work. The biting made it obvious but he wasn't saying anything. The blond had to have looked over at the right moment or something. It's not like he could've been watching him?

Shut up. Which questions do you not understand?”

Shinsou rolled his eyes but showed him the paper. Unfortunately, it was all of them.

Bakugou rolled his eyes. "Alright, let's start with this one." He pointed to the third question. "Aizawa mentioned it a few days ago."

Shinsou read over the question that Bakugou was talking about.

What should a hero do if there is a citizen who is refusing to let them capture a villain and trying to cause a scene?

He could not remember the answer to that for the life of him. "Remind them there's a freaking villain behind them and tell them to move?"

"Calm them, explain why the villain is being captured, and gently have an office escort them to the side."

He was nowhere near that answer.

"I'm surprised you remembered what he said considering your usual answer to anything is..die!"

Bakugou smacked him with his textbook. Shinsou held his head for a good minute. "Don't insult me! I'll gladly stop helping you and tell you to walk into traffic if that's what you want!"

"Sorry! Okay, just explain why it comes to that answer." He mumbled while taking a note of what Bakugou said before.

The blond grumbled before doing so. This was going to take a while.

What confused him more than finding the right answers was Bakugou. He was annoyed, yet he struck around the whole time. He could've easily left and helped another classmate.

So..what made him stay?

Chapter 12: Not Friends

Chapter Text

Shinsou tried his best to listen as Bakugou explained the answers. His brain just wasn't able to keep up though. He stared down blankly as Bakugou spoke. He didn't quite know why he couldn't catch on.

“Are you even listening Eyebags?” He grumbled while poking his forehead.

“No.” He just slammed his head back down onto the desk again like before.

Bakugou hit him in the head with his textbook a few times.

“Quit spacing out!” He complained while hitting him again.

Ouch.

“I'm only going to explain it one more time!”

The blond grumbled while looking over his own work, trying to think of a better way to present things to him. At least that's what it looked like he was doing.

Shinsou felt his stomach start to grumble. He hunched over a little more on himself as Bakugou started to talk again.

He couldn't remember the last time he actually ate a proper meal. Maybe that's why his concentration was low. He continued to zone out, until the bell rang.

Bakugou rolled his eyes and stood up. “I hope at least something is stuck in your stupid brain.” He then grabbed his stuff and walked off.

Shinsou should probably thank him later despite wasting both of their time.

He realized it was lunch time. Maybe he should just stay here. He glanced back down to his work.

He didn't get very fair before a voice echoed out. “Don't you dare skip lunch. Go eat with them.”

He looked up to see Aizawa standing there.

“I don't understand this though.” He mumbled while feeling disappointed. He hated to admit it to his father.

“Well, I'll have Mic help you out later. Now, go on.” He gestured to the door.

“Okay, okay.” He sighed and stood up. He packed up his stuff and left the room.

The halls were empty since all his classmates already made their way to the cafeteria. The lunch line wasn't very long but he didn't want to wait.

Instead, he just went to an empty table. He has yet to actually sit with his class even a few months in. He liked his alone time.

He pulled out his headphones, planning to block out all the noise. Lunch never did take very long anyway. His table was tucked enough away that no one bothered him.

He placed his bag on the table and used it as a makeshift pillow. He then laid his head down onto it. He knew he wouldn't sleep but this did help him relax at least.

Usually, it did anyway. His thoughts started to drift.

Should he even be here..at this school? His quirk couldn't always be relied on. He knew it was a stupid question since Izuku was technically quirkless but still- he couldn't help but wonder. Izuku was way stronger than him.

Sure, he's gotten better with Bakugou's help but he still worried. Maybe he should be doing more. If only they were allowed to go to the gym during lunch.

He jumped as there was a loud bang across his table. He opened his eyes and looked up to see Bakugou.

What..?”

He was so confused as Bakugou appeared. He never sat over here.

Bakugou shoved a tray in his direction. “Eat.”

He pulled off his headphones and looked down. “Huh? Wait, aren't you supposed to be with your- what was it called..squad?”

“I didn't make it, so I don't have to stick around.” Bakugou started to eat off his tray.

“True but why are you sitting here?”

“What you got a problem with it?”

“No..It's just weird.” He mumbled while gently poking at his food with his chopsticks. “You should go sit with people you actually like.”

“What are you rambling on about now? Besides, who said I like anyone.” The male glared up at him.

“Are we even friends Bakugou?” It was about time he got an answer. He's been wondering for a while now.

I- don't know? Who cares.”

Me. I don't know what we are.” He scoffed back while dropping his chopsticks.

It's not like he was going to actually eat anyway.

“Then no.” Bakugou glared down at his food. “I can't be friends with you.”

“..Is it because of my quirk?” It slipped out before he could stop himself. Everyone was always afraid of him. It hurt.

He shouldn't even care! He's the one who said he wasn't here to make friends.

What? No! Don't be ridiculous you idiot!”

Shinsou looked down and put his headphones away. “Right, okay.” He shoved the tray away. “I'm not hungry.”

Bakugou frowned at him. “I'm not friends with anyone. I'm here to become the strongest.”

Shinsou nodded and said nothing else. That seemed to bother the male more.

It didn't matter since the bell went off. Everyone started to rush out. Shinsou sighed and stood as well.

Bakugou grabbed his arm to stop him. "What do you actually want to be friends with me or something?"

"No, just forget it."

"There's a reason for what I said."

"Well then what is it?!"

"You have to start taking better care of yourself. I dont need to be on your mind until you eat proper meals again. Plus, I'd rather be something else then your friend or whatever." With that he let go and walked off.

Shinsou stared at Bakugou as he left.

He knew. Shit.

“Take two steps backwards.” Shinsou commanded, watching Bakugou.

He found himself still training with the blond. Even after their weird conversation in the cafeteria.

Right now he was trying to focus on the length of his quirk.

Bakugou listened and immediately tripped over the exercise mat.

Did he do that on purpose? Absolutely.

Obviously, he was still a little upset at Bakugou's answer. Even if he shouldn't be. He was right.

“Whoops. Should've thought that out better. My bad.”

“That's the worst kind of apology I ever heard!”

After a minute of bickering he put the blond back under.

“Spin around in a circle.”

Bakugou spun.

“Hm, do a push up.”

He kept his eyes extra close as Bakugou listened. He couldn't help watching his body. Kill him.

“Breakdance.”

He immediately started to chuckle as the guy listened. He didn't record it on his phone since he wasn't trying to die.

Eventually, he stopped messing with him and took it more seriously. “Alright, try to punch me.”

Brainwashed Bakugou was not any easier to win against in a fight.

Shinsou could feel as Bakugou tried to break free the entire time but it didn't work. He could easily guess it was annoying for him. It was something only Izuku has been able to do. Shinsou hoped it would stay that way. Otherwise, it would make his quirk seem useless.

It didn't take long before a headache started to form. He ignored it though. This happened quite often. He needed to get strong. This was helping them both.

Though his mind kept wandering during their training.

He wanted to be something else?

Chapter 13: Confession

Chapter Text

The weekend couldn't have come soon enough. Currently, Shinsou was buried under his covers half asleep. He was not going to do anything today. No training. No classes. No nothing.

Jellybean was sprawled out across from him on the bed. The sun was shining on both of them. It was nice and warm. Most of his classmates were down on the first floor so it was pretty quiet. He couldn't of asked for anything better. Hanging around with everyone felt like too much effort today.

It was almost 1 P.M. and it's been forever since Shinsou's got to relax like this.

He fell asleep for about two seconds before his door slammed open. He didn't need to move to know who that was.

“What are you still doing in bed?! Get up you loser!”

Shinsou didn't respond and listened as his door was kicked shut.

Bakugou stomped over and pulled on the blanket.

Shinsou pulled right back, glaring into his soul. "No."

This was his day to recharge. It was not getting ruined by some human bomb.

He heard as Jellybean meowed and jumped onto Bakugou. It was enough for the guy to get distracted for a minute.

“Hey, don't paw at that! I need them to hear!”

Somehow Jellybean got a hold of one of the blond’s hearing aids.

He closed his eyes as the two got into their own little chase.

Eventually, he heard Bakugou make a sound. Seems like he got it back. Not that Shinsou really cared.

He felt a dip in his bed and opened one of his eyes.

“Are you really going to lay around all day?”

“Yup. I'm not doing anything.”

Bakugou scoffed at that. “Pathetic.”

“No one said you had to come in here.”

He grunted at that. “The extras were all curious if you died, so I came to check.”

He was pretty sure the ‘extras’ just meant Bakugou. Not that he could ever get him to admit it.

“I'm not dead. You can leave now.”

The blond shoved him in response.

Shinsou stuck his tongue out at him.

“You're getting up. At least eat something. I know for a fact you have not had anything yet.” Bakugou looked hesitant after his words.

Shinsou felt himself tense at that and turned away from him completely. “That's none of your business. Don't step into territory that isn't yours.”

“You want to get stronger right?” Bakugou scooted a little closer. “Having an empty stomach all the time will weaken your muscle mass and any energy you hope to keep. It's only going to get worse.”

“You think I don't know that?” He mumbled while glaring at the wall. “It's not something I can just change! You weren't even supposed to notice!” He sat up and looked over to him. “What makes you think you have the right to bother me about this!”

Bakugou huffed and looked down. “I've gone through my own problems.” He tugged at his long sleeve. It was enough for Shinsou to guess what he hinted at. “You can't just give up on yourself!” He felt as those red eyes glared right into his own.

He felt as his body started to shake a little. “No, shut up! You don't even care enough to be friends with me. I don't want a lecture from you. You're only here to be the strongest..I'll only get in the way.” He stopped himself from saying more despite wanting too.

He always gets in the way. His quirk isn't anything compared to the males beside him. What's the point?

“Ugh! That's not what I meant!” He watched as Bakugou gripped his hair in annoyance.

“It sure sounded like it.” He replied as he let out a scoff.

Bakugou huffed and lowered his hands. “Listen, I don't want to be friends with you because..I want to be more.”

Shinsou was caught off guard by that.

“How am I supposed to believe that now? You can't just backtrack on me!” His heartbeat was starting to climb out of his throat. “You said one thing before and now it's the complete opposite?”

Bakugou ran a hand through his hair. “I never said I was smart about these things. I don't know how to use words correctly all the time.” He wiped his hands on his pants. It looked like he was ready to blast the wall.

“I..like you or something, okay?”

Shinsou went dead silent.

“So do I.” He mumbled and immediately loosened up. He was still upset about before but he really liked the blond in front of him.

Bakugou let out a loud sigh. “Alright, listen. I might've gone about this the wrong way but let me help you more. Especially if you're gonna actually- uh accept me.”

Shinsou rolled his eyes. “You really are bad with words. Accept me? What are we in a slice of life romance movie?” He pulled the blond in for a kiss to shut him up.

It worked. Bakugou leaned into it.

Shinsou pulled away, looking at him again. “Yes, I want to date you. No, I don't forgive you completely but I understand where you're coming from.”

It seemed to be a good enough answer for Bakugou.

Jellybean squeezed his way in-between them. It was enough to help them both relax.

“Let's just move on. I'm not trying to pick a fight for no reason.” Both of them got carried away. They can always talk about that stuff again later.

Bakugou made a noise at that. “Absolutely not. I'm not done yet.”

Shinsou was about to explain himself again, saying he didn't want to talk about his problem but he completely froze as the blond pushed him down onto the bed. Oh.

He immediately got flustered. He didn't expect a move like this.

The blond lowered his head and kissed Shinsou gently. It was a bit odd. Bakugou was so aggressive usually.

Shinsou pulled away. “Don't be nervous. I've liked you for a while.”

“I know. Don't think I haven't caught you staring at me in the gym.”

Shinsou made a loud noise of embarrassment.

Bakugou chuckled before pulling him in close.

It didn't take long before they were sharing a lot more kisses. It was much more natural this time.

Chapter 14: Calm Before The Storm

Chapter Text

Dating Katsuki Bakugou was strange. Nothing like he actually expected.

After about a month he started to really learn about him.

He was more touchy then Shinsou would've ever guessed. He first noticed it during training.

Now, when they fought Bakugou would pin him down and wrap his arms around him without hesitation. Sometimes they would continue and other times it would just turn into a make out session.

The second thing he learned was the blond definitely had a soft side but not for him. For Jellybean.

He's caught the guy playing with him multiple times. No matter how much he tries to brush it off.

They have definitely gotten closer. Honestly, he's surprised no one caught onto them dating yet. It was obvious Bakugou was a little more stand off when they were around. He assums that the blond doesn't want them to know? He definitely won't say anything, until he's certain. Not that he really wanted to announce their relationship.

He stared down at his homework absolutely confused. He's improved his grades a little with Bakugou's help but he was still struggling overall.

It didn't take long for him to realize he was totally spacing out. He really needs to stop doing that!

He huffed and leaned back in Bakugou's desk chair. He convinced the blond to let him stick around in his room. No one else had been in here aside from him. He felt special and took it all in.

It was pretty normal apart from a small shelf full of manga. Shinsou would definitely be checking that out later.

His excuse to be here was that a new space might help him concentrate more. Unfortunately, it seemed to be no different.

Bakugou had been pretty quiet. That wasn't normal. Especially since they both were supposed to be studying. It made him grow curious. He turned slightly to look over towards Bakugou's bed.

Bakugou was on his bed like he expected but he was surprised to see him asleep. He was using his textbooks as a makeshift pillow. Instead of one of his actual pillows. He could tell he didn't mean to knock out like this. He was probably tired from all the extra training. Bakugou had upped it for both of them. He was nearly sore almost everyday now.

He couldn't help himself as he stood up. It's not like he was getting much work done anyway. He went over and gently removed the textbook, replacing it with one of his pillows. He wanted the guy to sleep comfortably at least. He pulled out his phone and snuck a picture. Bakugou just looked cute like this..he couldn't help it. It's not like he'd ever figure out he took a picture.

He was about to get back to attempting to study but he couldn't bring himself to. Bakugou looked really relaxed. Maybe he could join him? He doubted the blond would mind that much. He was already in his room, so what's the difference?

They've done plenty that laying beside each other shouldn't be a problem. He climbed in beside him.

He reached out and took a hold of one of Bakugou's hands.

It didn't take long for him to relax as well.

Shinsou immediately opened his eyes as he felt his body being lifted. He looked around in confusion.

He caught on that..Bakugou was carrying him.

“Um, what are you doing? You could've just woken me up Katsuki..” He mumbled before yawning. He didn't realize he slipped up and used his first name.

Bakugou rolled his eyes and avoided looking at him. His face grew red but Shinsou was still trying to wake up, so he didn't notice. “Taking you back to your dorm. I don't need Aizawa to see you here. Plus, Jellybean will probably be upset. The whole point was that you'd stay asleep. Guess not.”

Shinsou huffed slightly at that but allowed for the blond to keep holding him. “Thanks but you know I don't sleep for anything. Especially if I'm being moved.”

The gesture was nice though. It made him smile slightly.

It was sort of pointless since his room was next door. Maybe this was just Bakugou's excuse to hold him. He knew it had to look ridiculous since he was so much taller.

He decided to just relax and let Bakugou walk him back. Obviously, it didn't take long. He laughed a bit as Bakugou stumbled and hit the wall. Sometimes the blond was such an idiot despite calling everyone else one.

Bakugou kicked open his door and went to his bed.

As they neared it Shinsou leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek. “Thanks for the escort Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight.”

Bakugou immediately dropped him.

He didn't regret a thing.

“Don't mock my hero name.”

“What I'm not? I'm just thanking you for your kind duties.” He smirked unable to keep a straight face.

Bakugou crossed his arms and turned away. “Such a pain.”

“You wouldn't have it any other way.”

Bakugou flipped him off and left the room. He knew the guy wasn't actually mad. He's messed with him far worse than this.

He sighed and laid down. He felt as Jellybean rushed over and curled up beside him. “I guess he was right about that. I wouldn't of been able to leave you alone all night.” He smiled while petting his little troublemaker.

Jellybean just meowed in response.

“I should probably try to sleep again though. Ugh..this is going to be a long night now. I feel so awake Bean.”

Yes, he talked to his cat. It's normal.

He wondered if Bakugou was going to go back to sleep. He pulled out his phone and decided to bother him. He paused as a text from Aizawa came up before he could pull up Bakugou's contact.

Your father is sick and in the hospital.

He immediately sat up and called Aizawa.

What happened.” He felt his body completely tense up. There was definitely no sleep for him tonight.

“He got into it with a villain. They figured out his quirk and went for his throat. He's okay but he has to stay in the hospital for the rest of the night. That's all they would tell me." He sounded angry more then anything. He knew Aizawa was just using to to cover up for his other emotions.

Can I-

“I'm coming to get you as we speak.”

Shinsou nodded even though he couldn't see it and got up. He went to grab his shoes and a jacket.

He paused as he noticed Bakugou's hoodie laying on his dresser. He ended up with it again as he kept complaining about the cold.

Are you ever gonna bring your own jacket to training..or are you trying to just get my hoodie?” Bakugou had scoffed before throwing it at him. Just like before.

He shook his head and realized he was spacing out.

He grabbed it and pulled it on. It gave him a small sense of comfort. Not that he would ever tell the Bombshell that information.

“I'll see you soon.” He heard before the phone clicked in his ear.

He sighed and lowered the phone. His eyes burned.

Chapter 15: Hospital

Notes:

Here comes some sad boi Shinsou hours. I can finally start adding in the angst.

Chapter Text

Shinsou tapped his foot against the floor. Who could have done this? He couldn't stop fidgeting around. Apparently, it was noticeable as he was gently hit in the head with a water bottle.

“Stop moving so much. He'll wake up soon.”

He looked over to Aizawa. His dad was currently holding onto Eri while staring in his direction. His sister was currently asleep, which was probably a good thing.

“Right. Sorry.” He took the water bottle and set it beside him.

They were currently beside Mic in his hospital room but he felt so far away.

He was so lost in his head. He wanted to know who would hurt his dad. His neck was wrapped up, so it was impossible to see the damage completely.

“I’m sure he'll tell us everything as soon as he wakes up. He's a strong one Hitoshi.” His dad looked down and rocked Eri a little bit.

Shinsou could tell he was trying to keep him calm. It might've worked if he couldn't see the panic that was currently in his eyes.

He tried to distract himself by pulling out his phone. He suddenly remembered about Jellybean. Shoot.

His fingers quickly pulled up Bakugou's name.

Sorry to text you so late but can you take Jellybean to your room? I don't want him to be alone. I'll explain everything later.

He sent it and tucked his phone away into the hoodie pocket.

Aizawa leaned back and sighed. “Are you okay? Aside from all this?”

Shinsou looked up at the question. “Yeah, why wouldn't I be?”

Aizawa gave him a bit more of a serious look. “Have you been eating at all? I saw your request for a smaller uniform.”

Shinsou quickly looked away. “Yeah, I'm just losing weight from doing extra training with Bakugou.”

Aizawa clearly wanted to say more but stopped. Shinsou wasn't sure as to why but couldn't be more grateful. Maybe it's because they currently had Mic to worry about. “Please..drink the water then. That's all I'm asking right now.”

Shinsou nodded and picked the bottle back up. He knew this conversation would be brought up again soon.

He took a few sips before leaning back like Aizawa did. “Is Eri alright?”

“I'm not sure if she completely understands what happened. I couldn't hide it from here though. That wouldn't be right and she insisted on coming.” He looked down to Eri. He held her a bit closer.

Shinsou hummed and closed his eyes. He was tired. A twenty minute power nap on Bakugou's bed didn't do much for him. He wasn't going to sleep here though.

After another fifteen minutes passed he heard movement. He immediately sat up and looked over to Mic’s bed.

The exhausted male was already sitting up and looking at them. He was struggling to stay upright. Aizawa was over there in an instant. He was gently moving his husband back down. While holding Eri in his other arm.

Shinsou went and took Eri from his dad. It was right for them to have a moment. They certainly needed it. He took a few steps back to watch what was said.

“Are you okay?’ Aizawa mumbled while looking at Hizashi.

The male signed back in response.

They went back and forth a few times, discussing what happened.

Shinsou let his eyes fall onto Eri. She was clinging to him now. He noticed as her scars from Overhaul shined in the light.

It made him feel so small. This girl went through so much. It made him feel like he shouldn't be struggling at all right now.

He swallowed thickly and felt his body shake a little.

“Hitoshi..come over here.” Aizawa whispered.

Shinsou did as told. He looked down at his two fathers. “Yeah?” He gave Eri back to Aizawa now that his hands were free again.

“Hizashi told me who he ran into. I don't think you'll like this news.”

That was enough to put Shinsou on edge.

“Who?”

Your old foster parent.”

He took a step back in surprise. He thought he had escaped him years ago. This couldn't be happening! “What?”

They both frowned at him.

It’s okay. I will write a report when I can. We will make sure they don't touch you ever again Hitoshi. This is nothing.’ Mic signed quickly, trying to calm him down. It was a little clumsy but Shinsou didn't notice.

“Yes it is! He came and hurt you! All because of me!” His hands flew to his hair and he tugged at it.

“Hitoshi-”

“I won't let him do that!” He would go find that horrible man himself if he had too. He wasn't going to let that freak hurt his family.

People that actually cared for him this time.

Eri woke up from his shouting. She looked around and saw Mic. She started to cry and Aizawa quickly handed her over to Mic, so she could see him.

Aizawa then rushed over to Shinsou and pulled his hands out of his hair. “We aren't letting him do anything else either. Relax. Breathe with me Hitoshi.”

Shinsou struggled against Aizawa. All he wanted to do was pull his hair out right now. “I-I can't.”

“Yes you can. You're strong just like us.” He placed his hands on Shinsou's shoulders. “Now, come on. Focus on me. Nothing else.”

Shinsou felt as his whole body began to shake. He did his best to listen. Not that it was working too well.

It took a few minutes but eventually he was able to listen.

Aizawa placed a hand onto his head. “He won't be coming near any of us again. Now, go over there and relax with Mic. I'll start looking into this as soon as we leave.”

Shinsou went and sat back down. He sort of just stared off out the window. He hated thinking about his old foster home. The whole system was horrible.

As a kid it's not like he had any control. He was passed along as families heard about his quirk. They grew nervous of him. They didn't want him anywhere near their other kids. He was too much of a risk.

He thought maybe his third home would be the one. It was just an older male that lived alone. They got pretty close and the man wasn't scared of Shinsou. He actually encourged Shinsou to use his quirk. It didn't make sense as to why until a few weeks later. The man wanted him to use it to help him scam people. The idea was for Shinsou to come along and brainwash them into handing over the money for whatever product the man offered. Then they would run off before the person broke out of his quirk.

Of course, he refused and said he wanted to be a hero. He only received a negative response. It got worse from there. Instead of throwing him out they treated him horribly. He hated it there as he was forced into multiple scams with him.

It was clear the guy didn't have any money. Shinsou was told to stop complaining anytime he mentioned being hungry. The jerk would always respond with…

Think of the people on the streets. Why should you eat when they can't?”

That sentence has haunted him ever since.

He wasn't put back into the system until a year later. It felt like a decade to him. There was a lot more that happened but he refused to think about it. Instead, he kept it locked up in his brain. He was not reliving anything else.

Not ever again.

Shinsou was startled out of his thoughts as his phone went off. He realized it was probably Bakugou. He pulled it out to hopefully get some kind of distraction.

I'm pretty sure he misses you.

Shinsou looked at the picture to see poor Jellybean staring at Bakugou's door.

He'll be fine. I've seen you two. He probably likes you almost as much as me.

That was all he said before lowering his phone.

Right now he has to focus on his family. That man was out there. He wasn't going to let his family get hurt because the man was after him. He knew deep down that the man was simply looking for him.

He never did tell his fathers the whole story.

Chapter 16: Secrets

Chapter Text

Shinsou was absolutely exhausted. More so than normal. He didn't even know it was possible. He was relieved as the wind hit his face. It gave him something to keep him grounded.

They were finally free from the stupid hospital. Mic still wasn't able to talk yet but they said he would have a smooth recovery. He trailed behind his family. Aizawa told him they are all going to the house for the night. He wanted to keep them all safe.

Shinsou kept his eyes on the streets. No one looked out of the ordinary. He soon focused his attention on Mic. “Where exactly did he attack you at?”

Mic was a bit surprised to receive that kind of question. That's what it looked like to him anyway. Who wouldn't be considering they were just walking in the quiet.

He took a second before raising his hands.

It was actually near the school. We're probably going to have to get stronger security to keep it safe..again.

“You better not be planning to hunt him down.” Aizawa butted in before he could continue.

The guy sure did know him well. Then again he did make it pretty obvious.

“I'm just asking.” He mumbled while shoving his hands into his pockets.

“Well since we're just asking..is that Bakugou's hoodie?”

“What?! No!” Shinsou quickly looked down at it. There was no way to cover the bright orange X’s on the sleeves.

“Right. With that calm answer it's so easy to believe you.” He mumbled before unlocking the car.

Shinsou grumbled in response before getting into the back. He watched as Eri got in on the other side. “Bakugou? The angry guy with poofy hair?”

“Yes, that's him.” He mumbled while making sure Eri was good. He then looked up to Aizawa. “Why do you wanna know anyway?”

“You've been hanging around him more often. I just wondered if you finally made a friend that you claimed would never happen.” He could hear the smirk in his voice. Of course, his father would make fun of him.

He huffed and leaned against the window. “He's not my friend. He gave it to me because I wouldn't shut up about how cold it was. His words.”

Ah young love! How I miss those days!’ Mic signed very dramatically.

Shinsou pretended not to see it.

He closed his eyes and hoped maybe he could sleep for the drive home.

It never did happen.

Shinsou swayed from side to side as he attempted to walk back to his dorm room. He was up all night trying to find any new information about that man. Unfortunately, he wasted all his time and sleep was still nowhere in sight. Aizawa gave him an excuse from classes today. He was extra grateful.

He sort of closed his eyes after he walked off the elevator. It might've not been the smartest choice. All he could think about doing was collapsing though. He immediately collided with something. A grumble escaped him as he opened his eyes.

He was met with Bakugou's stare. “What are you doing?”

Shinsou wasn't able to respond. He just completely leaned against him now. It was fine since Bakugou was his boyfriend anyway. Did they actually make it official yet? Who knows and who cares. All he could think about was laying down. On a nice cool pillow. If he thought hard enough Bakugou was fitting enough.

Bakugou tried to wiggle away but he was not letting go. He was too tired to notice Kaminari right beside Bakugou.

“Is he good?”

“Hell if I know. Ugh..I'm taking him to his room. Don't wait around.” Bakugou glared before moving to lift Shinsou.

Shinsou easily allowed himself to be carried and closed his eyes again.

He then suddenly felt as he was tossed onto a bed. He could tell it was Bakugou's. He didn't care though. He just relaxed against it.

“You look horrible. I'm definitely going to make sure you're not dead later. If you aren't asleep when I come back then I'm knocking you out myself.”

That was the last thing he heard before the door shut.

He sighed softly and forced his eyes open. He was about to drag himself to his room again but stopped. He saw Jellybean climbing up onto the bed to greet him. Bakugou actually kept him for the night and the whole morning? He figured Bakugou would've placed Jellybean back in his room earlier.

He reached out and hugged Jellybean. This was all he needed right now.

After about five minutes he sat up. He still couldn't sleep. This was awful. He looked down at Jellybean. “Why can I never sleep? I'm even in Katsuki's bed. It's really comfortable, yet it's not coming.” He mumbled and ran a hand across his face. He shifted and put his cat into his lap. Might as well try to dig up information.

Bakugou slammed his door open just a few hours later. It was lunch and he decided to sneak out. He blinked as Shinsou was nowhere in sight. “Where did he go?!” He quickly looked around but he wasn't here.

He quickly left his room and slammed the door shut. He went over to Shinsou's room to check but he wasn't in there either. Jellybean was though. He gave the cat a head pat. “Where is your idiot owner at? I even told him to sleep, so where is he?” The cat did not give him the answer he was looking for.

Bakugou left and scouted the whole building. Shinsou definitely wasn't in here. He blasted out of the building. It didn't take him long to spot a head of purple hair. He rushed over to him and tackled him down.

“What are you doing out here! This isn't sleeping idiot!” He yelled right into Eyebags ear.

He watched as the other male struggled for two seconds before stopping. It seemed like he realized who was pinning him down.

“I- Ow. Bakugou get off..” He whined but had no actual luck moving him.

“What are you doing behind the school?” He needed answers now. This all seemed suspicious.

“I'll explain if you move.” He heard as the other male mumbled while giving in. He no longer was trying to push him off.

Bakugou finally got off of him. “So what happened the other night?”

His eyes focused on Shinsou's lips as he let out a sigh.

“I went to the hospital.”

Those words made him pause for a moment.

“Mic was hurt by my..old foster dad.” He could see as Shinsou fidgeted with his hands. He never even knew the guy was adopted.

“Is he alright?” He figured Mic was okay since he was here and not still at the hospital.

“Yeah, he just injured his neck. That's what scares me though. He knew right where to hit him. I think he's after me, Katsuki. I'm nervous. I couldn't manage to tell my dads that.” He picked up on how Shinsou's voice shook as he spoke.

Bakugou rubbed his neck and scoffed. “Don't be. No one is going to let that man near you. Though, I assume you're trying to track him down. Is that why you're back here?”

Shinsou nodded while not keeping eye contact.

“You can't be reckless. I know, ridiculous coming from me but I was kidnapped before. It's not fun. This man can definitely be dangerous if he hurt Mic really bad.” Bakugou looked down at Shinsou's hands. “Are Aizawa and Mic your dads?”

“Yeah, I knew you would figure it out soon enough. Just don't tell anyone else.”

“Course.” He took a hold of one of Shinsou's hands. “Can I ask another thing?”

Shinsou looked up at him this time. He nodded.

What exactly did this man do to you?”

Chapter 17: Sleep?

Chapter Text

He didn't expect that kind of question. “Lots of things.” He mumbled before looking away. “I don't want to talk about it.”

Bakugou grunted in acknowledgment. “I get it. Just don't do anything too stupid.”

He watched as the blond turned away and looked around. He's already done a few laps around the building. The man was nowhere in sight.

“What was his name?”

Shinsou tensed as he moved to lean against the wall. “Hideo.”

“What a horrible name especially for this situation. Who names their kid Hideo??”

Shinsou let out a weak chuckle. All the guy expected was for everyone to bow down to him. When Hideo didn't get that he forced him into doing jobs with him. Obviously, he was a very horrible parent.

He felt as he was being tugged off the wall.

“Let's go back in. I told you before I'd knock you out if you weren't asleep. Don't think I still won't. Plus, I sort of skipped lunch for this.”

You what!? Bakugou get back to class! Aizawa will kill us both! I'm positive lunch is over by now.” He tried to escape from the blond’s grasp.

He rolled his eyes. “It's too late now.”

“Don't say that. I know you can make it back.” He huffed but didn't argue anymore as Bakugou pulled him back inside. It was a quick walk to the elevator and to their dorms. Bakugou just shoved them both into his room. Shinsou didn't complain.

He felt as Bakugou threw him onto his bed. This sure happened quite a few times now.

He looked up at Bakugou. He pouted a little. “Are you really going to try and make me sleep?”

“Duh, I wouldn't just skip out on lunch for the fun of it.” He rolled his eyes. “When was the last time you slept anyway?”

Shinsou nervously looked away. “Do you want the actual answer to that?”

Bakugou gave him a deep glare.

“It's been quite a few days..” He mumbled before moving to pull up the blankets.

Bakugou grumbled before looking over him again. “What helps you sleep?”

“If I knew I wouldn't have eyebags Bakugou.”

Bakugou went over and whacked him. “Don't be a smart ass about it. I'll knock you out if you don't shut up.”

Shinsou huffed and held onto his head. “Why do you always smack me in the head?” He looked up at Bakugou. “I really don't know though. Nothing ever helps me. Not even medicine. I've tried it all.”

Bakugou seemed to space out for a moment. “There's got to be something that can help you.” He looked more annoyed as a few minutes passed by.

“Katsuki just go back to class. It's not a big deal. I'll figure it out.” He moved to lay down.

“Hm, when did we ever agree on calling each other by our first names Hitoshi?”

That was enough to make him go completely still. He kept slipping up!

“Sorry! I didn't mean to! It just sort of came out?! I won't-” Bakugou cut in before he could finish his ramble.

“I'm messing with you loser. It's fine. If you get to decide that though then I'm forcing you to be my boyfriend.”

“I don't think that's how that works?” He mumbled while taking in his words. Wait, boyfriend?

“Shut up! Yes it is!”

Shinsou rolled his eyes while allowing a little smirk to appear. “I will be your boyfriend. It's not like I was planning on running away with anyone else.” He chuckled slightly before yawning. "Honestly, we've been together for over a month now. I kinda thought we already were."

He watched the man shrug. "I don't know. I don't usually care about labels. You're mine. End of sentence." Bakugou walked over and shoved Shinsou to the side of his bed. “Move over.”

“Way to say that after shoving me.” He scooted over a little more. “What exactly are you doing?”

“Did you take a pill to make you stupid or something? Obviously laying in bed with you.” He forced Shinsou to lay down. “Now relax and nap already. Before you ask, I'm napping with you. Shut up and don't freak out. We've laid in bed and done plenty. Plus we're boyfriends.”

Shinsou nodded along dumbly and closed his eyes. He couldn't believe Bakugou was actually going to stay with him. He really should be going back to classes. “Are you going to leave if I fall asleep?”

“Do you want me to?”

“If I said no would you be mad..?”

“Why would I be mad idiot?”

"You're annoyed all the time."

Bakugou shoved him again. "Whatever. Just try to sleep."

“Bold of you to assume I'll sleep.” He still allowed himself to relax. Somehow it was easier with Bakugou laying beside him.

"That's why I said try!"

"See? Annoyed." He could nearly feel as the guy rolled his eyes. Yes, feel.

What a surprise to find you both here.”

Those were the words that woke him. He quickly opened his eyes to discover that he did indeed fall asleep. He could tell that Bakugou was spooning him from behind. Well, this was embarrassing.

He blinked and looked over to Aizawa. “Um, it's not what it looks like?”

Aizawa glared at him in response.

“Okay, it totally is..” He mumbled while looking behind him at Bakugou as best as he could in his position. He quickly caught on that the blond took out his hearing aids.

Oh no. If he saw Aizawa he would absolutely freak.

“Dinner is downstairs. Also, Bakugou is in deep trouble for skipping. Wake him for me since apparently he is suspiciously sleeping though all this.” He then moved and left the room.

Shinsou whined as his dad left. He wanted to melt into the bed and die. He took a good minute to collect himself.

He reached out and shook Bakugou around. “Katsuki wake up! I know you can't hear me but speaking is a habit! I'll just take advantage of that and say you look super cute right now."

It didn't take long for the male to open his eyes. He looked pretty confused until he remembered where he was.

He was so pretty. He hates the fact that he had to wake him. He totally would've watched him sleep. That sounds creepy. Maybe he has a few screws loose after all.

“Oh crap. What time is it?”

He suddenly grew curious and raised his hands. He turned to face his boyfriend. Katsuki gave him a look of confusion.

My dad walked in on us just now. He saw us cuddling. Said you are in deep trouble for running off during lunch.’ He sighed quickly, wondering if the guy would understand.

Without hesitation Bakugou responded.

Seriously..just great. How the hell do you know sign anyway?'

'Back when I first was adopted I wouldn't talk. Mic came up with the idea to help. Now I just know how to from it.'

Bakugou nodded and seemed satisfied with that answer for the time being.

Next was them facing their consequences.

Chapter 18: Cleaning And Shopping

Chapter Text

Shinsou felt really sick. He placed his arms around his stomach and tried his best to just breathe. He was forced into rushing dinner since Aizawa had their punishment planned right after. His father was there so he had to eat some of it. If he didn't then he would get questions that he didn't feel like answering.

He regrets every bite he took. He doesn't deserve any of it.

He was forced into cleaning the UA gym with Katsuki. Shinsou huffed as he moved to slide onto the ground. He needed a minute..or five. His next task was scrubbing the floor so it shouldn't be that noticeable. He hoped.

He was annoyed to be dragged along in all this but he was technically the reason Katsuki skipped. His dad never did go easy on him for a reason. He appreciated it most days but right now not so much.

He was half tempted to call out to his boyfriend and have him bring over the scrub brushes. That would make it obvious something was wrong though. He could hear that Katsuki was all the way across from him. It was easy to hear him complaining. Not that he was taking anything in.

He could do this. Hopefully.

He tried to push himself back up but he couldn't. If he moved he would probably throw up. He couldn't risk that.

His vision started to blur. He didn't know why.

Was it from his lack of food or sleep? God, he was a mess. So pathetic.

He allowed himself to lay across the floor completely.

Are you sleeping on the floor?”

He finally heard as Bakugou's voice was now completely directed to him. It bounced off the walls.

He couldn't even respond. All he let out was a moan. He doubted the guy would hear it from across the gym.

Soon enough a hand pressed against his back. “You're shaking.” He could feel as Bakugou lifted him up a bit. He didn't risk opening his eyes. “Hitoshi..what's wrong? Did you hurt yourself?”

He shook his head no.

Bakugou seemed to take a minute before understanding. “It's because you ate dinner..” He heard the male huff. “You need to relax. Food isn't bad for you. I know you want to get it out of your system but you can't. I'm not letting you die on me.”

Shinsou opened his eyes enough to look at his boyfriend now. “I'm tired of this..”

Bakugou's face tensed up. “Don't say that. I'm going to help you work on this. You aren't allowed to give up on me.” He lifted him to sit in his lap. He was glad that Aizawa wasn't here. They would probably get into even more trouble.

He couldn't bring himself to say anything else but he kept his eyes on Katsuki. He did try to listen a little bit. Being on his lap was already a little bit of a distraction.

“Don't think about dinner. Think about something else. Maybe your weird cat or something?” He suggested while moving him closer.

Shinsou could only think about Katsuki now. He was not complaining. His stomach was still turning. He hated that Katsuki was stopping him from trying to purge but he understood why. Someone had to help him. Even if he'd never actually admit to needing it. He couldn't become a proper hero like this.

“You're hot.” He mumbled out weakly.

Bakugou stopped functioning for a good minute. It would definitely be much more amusif he could think straight.

“Don't just say stupid shit like that idiot!” He felt as Bakugou dropped him back down. “To think I was trying to help you.” He heard as the scrub brush bucket was pushed over to him. “Get back to work so we can get out of here sooner! I still have to go shopping!” He could tell Bakugou was flustered. It was obvious in his voice.

That was enough for him to keep going.

Shinsou felt sick still but he was focused again. Wait, shopping? Didn't the others usually do that?

“I can't believe you dragged me into shopping with you.” Shinsou pouted as he walked beside Bakugou.

“Well someone has to cook the whole class dinner. It's definitely not going to be you. Plus, I need a break from being cramped up inside with those idiots. Don't worry I made them all chip in. If I didn't then half those losers would forget to pay me back.”

Shinsou couldn't come up with a response to that. Bakugou was right. He definitely wouldn't do all that cooking. He could tell it was a lot of work from watching Bakugou.

“Now, stop sulking and help me.” He held out the list for Shinsou to see. “Grab anything that we need.”

He immediately reached out for a pack of instant coffee.

“Not that!”

I. Need. Coffee.”

Bakugou sighed and rolled his eyes. “I'm getting you a better brand then. You get the cheapest stuff.”

“It tastes just fine.” He mumbled while kicking at the floor. “You don't need to waste any money.”

“You're the exception, so don't worry about it. I'm not wasting money since you'll drink this crap.” Bakugou turned to put a pack of flour in the cart.

“Do you want me to at least try helping you cook tomorrow? You always do it all.”

Bakugou looked at him like he lost his head. “If you want? I don't care. If it bothered me that much then I would tell the extras to starve out. Don't offer if you feel like you have too. I hate that kind of stuff.”

“Wow, don't look too disgusted by my offer..” He muttered while shoving a few more things into the cart. "I didn't mean it like that. I would actually like to try and help you. Not because it's some kind of obligation, so calm down."

“I just didn't take you for the type to cook. Like at all. You look like you would cook instant noodles in a microwave."

Just because I don't eat doesn't mean I can't cook.”

That was enough for Bakugou to tense up. He directed them to a different area.

“Alright, relax..maybe it does.” He couldn't cook to save his life.

Bakugou rolled his eyes and reached out to grab some fancy looking brand of coffee. Shinsou tried to grab it but the blond whacked his hand away.

“I can teach you to cook. Maybe I can learn more of what you'll actually like eating.” That made Bakugou pause. “What do you like?”

Shinsou shook his head. “What a charmer. My own boyfriend doesn't know anything about me.” He joked before looking around. “Honestly, I don't know. I'm aware it's not a very helpful answer. Nothing tastes great when you're taught it's bad for you.”

Bakugou was quiet as they went for a few other things.

“Guess I'll have to help you find something you like or at least can stand.”

Shinsou looked down to the floor as they walked.

That task alone seemed impossible. Food and him just..don't mix. That's always how it's been. He doubted the blond before him would be able to change it.

For once he hoped he was wrong.

Chapter 19: All For A Wallet

Chapter Text

“What about this?”

Shinsou stared at yet another item Bakugou held up for him to look at. It was nice but he wanted to go back to the dorms. He was over it. “No, probably not.”

“You have to try something.”

“The packaging looks horrible. That alone tells me enough.”

Bakugou gripped his hair. “What does that even mean?!”

Shinsou tossed the item back onto the shelf before pulling Bakugou close.

“Katsuki, I'm bored. Can we please just buy what we got and leave? I'll just pick something to eat out of all this.” He offered while gesturing to everything in the cart.

That didn't seem like a very satisfying answer for Bakugou. His face said it all.

“No.”

Why do you hate me?!” He mumbled before covering his face.

“You have to eat something. I'll tear this whole store down if I have to. If I don't get you something then you'll likely brush it off.”

He wasn't wrong.

He still whined.

Katsukiiiii..” He grumbled as Bakugou now had to tug him along like a child. “I just want to go and see Jellybean. He's probably starving.”

Bakugou gave him a look. “I know you leave out food for him. Nice try though.”

Shinsou rolled his eyes. Shocking that Katsuki would remember that, yet he couldn't even remember his name a year ago. Fun times.

He sighed loudly and suddenly put all his weight down. It was enough to cause Katsuki to bump into him. Shinsou took the moment to grab his face and pull him into a kiss.

He kissed him for a good thirty seconds before Shinsou felt himself being tugged away.

“What are you doing?”

That made Shinsou pause. They never did have the big discussion about PDA and whatnot. Bakugou might not even be out of the closet.

Oh no. He's an idiot. Why would he do that?!

Bakugou seemed to pick up that he was too busy freaking out to answer.

“Stop panicking. I don't care if you kiss me. Really, it's nobody's business but why are you doing it?”

“To distract you-" He raised his hand to display what he grabbed. “and to steal your wallet.”

That was enough for the blond to feel his pockets. He realized it was gone. “How did you manage that?! I didn't even feel it!”

Shinsou smirked in response. “I have my ways. Anyway, I'll give it back once you agree to leave.”

Bakugou rolled his eyes. “You're being ridiculous.”

“Maybe.”

The blond leaped and tried to grab it.

Shinsou was able to dodge him. “Gotta try harder than that TNT!” Yes, he was having fun with this. They jumped around like idiots for a good minute. At least he was no longer bored. It was nice to see Bakugou having fun trying to get it back. Not that he would agree on that.

Eventually, they stopped acting like children. Shinsou was about to give Bakugou his wallet back. He didn't get the chance as someone ran into his boyfriend. It left him speechless for a moment.

Bakugou turned to glare while the male paused to stare at them both through his sunglasses.

That's odd.

“You probably should watch your surroundings better in here. My apologies for bumping into you though.” The man started walked off.

That's all he was really going to say? That wasn't even a proper apology!

“What?! You could've moved out of the way if you were watching so well!” Bakugou shouted after him. That was enough to make the guy turn back to them again. He removed the sunglasses.

That was enough for Shinsou to completely freeze.

It was him.

How did he not realize sooner?!

He was about to activate his quirk and ask a question. Bakugou was faster though. He couldn't let Katsuki get touched by that freak!

Wait, Katsuki don't!”

Bakugou turned to look at him while Hideo rushed towards the blond.

He reached into the cart and grabbed a bag of flour, throwing it at Hideo. “Get out of here! We don't know who you are!” Yes, he felt stupid yelling that but it worked to grab a lot of attention. Even the staff.

Hideo stopped as everyone was staring at him. He was covered in flour. He looked at Shinsou. “I'm coming for you next. Don't think I forgot who you are, Hitoshi.” His ‘father’ rushed out just as people started to call the police.

Bakugou grabbed onto Shinsou's hands. “You should've let me blast him.” He could tell that Bakugou was looking him over despite neither of them actually being hit. It was probably an instinct from their training.

“No way. His quirk is no joke. I figured he would remember me even though it's been years. I mean..who else has purple hair?” He sighed while squeezing Katsuki's hand. “Let's go get another bag of flour and get out of here.”

“Are you stupid? What if he comes back?”

“Trust me. He won't. There was too much attention on him. He's a coward.” Shinsou kept Bakugou close and started to walk back towards the baking section. The blond followed with ease. They were both pretty tense after all that. “Aizawa probably won't let us go out for a while once he hears about this. So prepare to find a new way to make the class dinner.”

“I'm not worried about that. What about the loser that tried to harm us?” Bakugou huffed while shoving his flour covered hand into his pocket. His other hand kept a strong hold of Shinsou's.

“He's going to keep trying. I'll have to tell Aizawa immediately and see what he says. He knows about you too now, which makes things worse.” Shinsou pulled out his phone to text Aizawa.

“So you threw a bag of flour at him? I'm glad that was enough to stop him.” His father mumbled while keeping his gaze on them.

They both were still covered in flour. Aizawa wanted to talk right away and Shinsou would never deny him. He offered for Katsuki to take a shower but the blond was stubborn. He seemed to want to stick around.

The conversation went pretty much as he would expect. They were now all on lock down till further notice. Everyone was only allowed to leave for classes and other activities if given permission. Now, the teachers would be covering the shopping.

“You two go relax. I'll look more into this. We know he's definitely hanging around this area now, considering the shop is only fifteen minutes away from here.” Aizawa glanced up to Shinsou. “I'm proud of you for staying logical during that situation. Especially since I know you wanted to use your quirk. Good job for stopping Bakugou as well. It could've gotten you both into serious trouble if he attacked first.”

Shinsou rubbed the back of his neck. He couldn't take those words to heart. It wasn't true. He wasn't very heroic during that situation. It was pure luck that Bakugou did something first. Seeing the blond in danger was enough to snap him out of his original plan. Otherwise, who knows what would've gone down. “Thanks.” He looked over to his boyfriend.

He was a little surprised Katsuki didn't bring up how he caught Shinsou's scouting for Hideo behind the building before. He was grateful for that.

After about another five minutes they were dismissed for the night. It was already pretty late since they spent the whole time cleaning the gym and shopping. He wondered if Bakugou was still going to try and cook.

“What are you going to do now? I know you sleep pretty early.” Shinsou asked as they made their way back to the student dorm. There were now a few teachers lurking around to keep watch.

“Honestly, I don't know. I'm exhausted but those extras probably haven't eaten anything. If so then I'll probably make something quick. Luckily, before that incident we got plenty of crap.” The blond complained while taking a hold of Shinsou's hand.

This was becoming so natural. It makes Shinsou's heart beat a little faster. It was oddly sweet considering how bad the day has been.

"Can we do something before we go back?" He asked softly while stopping Bakugou.

Bakugou gave him a look of curiosity. It was adorable under all the stars.

Chapter Text

“Don't look at me with those big dopey eyes. What do you want?”

Shinsou took him over to a few trees that blocked them out of sight from the teachers.

Shinsou wrapped his arms around him pulling him close. He placed his forehead against Katsuki's. “Can we stay out here for a few minutes? Just like this.” He whispered while keeping his gaze on Katsuki. “I want to have a little more time alone with you before we go in.”

Bakugou glanced down but didn't pull away. If anything he leaned in. “Don't go all mushy on me.” He then looked into Shinsou's eyes. “Sure, Hitoshi. Whatever.”

“How can I resist with that answer? You sound so happy to be my boyfriend.” Shinsou smiled and raised his hand to rub his finger against Katsuki's cheek. “I haven't actually got much time with you without it being interrupted.” He joked before leaning in to kiss Katsuki softly. The male returned with much more passion.

They spent a few minutes kissing before Shinsou pulled away. This would probably be a good time to speak about something that's been bothering him. “I need to ask you something.”

Bakugou grunted but pulled away. “If it doesn't involve making out I'm not interested.”

He nudged Katsuki in the side. “Shut up!” He chuckled before getting serious. He looked down at him. “Who do you feel comfortable sharing our relationship with?” It's been bugging him for a while. Katsuki never was the type to talk about things but he wanted to know.

The guy shrugged in response. “I don't really care.” He seemed to think for a minute. “I don't really want to tell our classmates yet. If they figure it out then that's fine. I just don't want to sit through all the shouting and whatever. As for our parents or whoever else then go for it.”

Shinsou nodded slowly. “Sorry, for that all of a sudden. I just want to make sure. We probably should've talked about that in the beginning.”

“Who cares. It's not like we're normal. That's boring.”

Shinsou smiled softly. “There's something I should also probably tell you.”

“What?”

“Aizawa is my dad. Along with Mic.”

Bakugou rolled his eyes. “I know about Aizawa. Remember, you tried to wake me the other day and let it slip out. Didn't think about Mic though. It makes more sense why you went to see him in the hospital.“

“Right, I should've thought about that.”

Bakugou flicked him in the head. “Calm down. I don't care. You should know this. We've only been together for a little over a month. No need to be all nervous again. You don't have to share everything right away. I don't care what relationship bullcrap you've seen online. Share stuff when you're comfortable.”

Shinsou smiled and kissed him again. “You're right.”

Obviously.”

Shinsou sighed and ran a hand through Katsuki's hair. They shouldn't stay out here all night. “Come on, let's go back in.”

Bakugou's eyes widened a bit. He seemed to realize how caught up they got. “Stupid Eyebags! It's your fault now that I'll have to stay up longer to make dinner!”

He felt as Bakugou grabbed him and dragged him along to the dorms again.

Shinsou huffed while looking up at the stars. “Honestly, it's a shame. It's beautiful out here. Especially with you.” He mumbled the last part under his breath.

He didn't mean to say that out loud. Katsuki didn't look back though. Hopefully, he didn't hear that. It was way too gross for him to ever actually say. He must be reading too much romance manga. Now he'll have to throw it out.

Shinsou stretched as he made his way through the hall. He felt so much better now that all the flour was off him. He wondered if Bakugou actually ended up getting trapped into making dinner. He found himself going down to check.

He blinked as he exited the elevator to see everyone already eating. Oh.

He approached Kirishima who was sitting on the couch by Kaminari. “Did Kat- Bakugou make dinner?” He stopped himself from using his first name. That was a close one.

“Yeah! I'm surprised he is still awake at this hour! For him it's pretty late. I'm sure there's still a plate for you in there. You know how he is!” Kirishima exclaimed.

He was so bright and happy.

Shinsou wanted to crawl back to his pitch black room.

Kaminari leaned forward to look at him as well. “Feel free to join us, Shinsou! I haven't seen you around much!”

Even brighter with two of them.

“Thanks but I have a question I need to ask him. I assume he's still in the kitchen?” He asked.

“Yup! I think Midoriya is trying to help him clean up. You know how that goes though.” Sero answered while leaning back on the other couch.

Shinsou winched slightly at that thought.

“Yeah, I'm gonna go check now. Midoriya might need a savoir. Thanks.”

He entered the kitchen to see Midoriya sitting on one of the stools near the counter. It must be where Bakugou banished him.

“Please let me do something! I know you were out late! I'm sure you're tired Kacchan. You literally took a shower then came to cook for us. You shouldn't be doing the clean up on top of that.” Midoriya mumbled while his head was placed against the counter.

He noticed as the blond turned his hearing aids off. He must be tired to not even try arguing back. Shinsou decided to step in and walk to the other side of the counter so the male would see him.

“Hey, it's fine. I'll try to help him. You should go relax. I heard you injured yourself in class. It's been a while since that's happened, huh?” Shinsou asked to get Midoriya’s attention. He wasn't there but the group chat he was added in sure let him hear all about it. Truth is he was worried at the time but he has a lot going on too.

Midoriya lifted his head at that. Now, there were visible bandages running along his whole head. Ouch.

“I still feel bad. He does this all the time for us! We all offer to help but he never accepts it.” He whined while holding his head. The injury seemed to be making Midoriya more emotional. He could see tears start to form on the brim of his eyelids.

That made him pause. He was horrible at comforting people. What should he do?

Just then Todoroki appeared behind him and wrapped his arms around Izuku. “Sorry, I'll take him out of here. He's tired and probably not thinking too straight.” His eyes followed the two as Izuku was then carried off.

Wow. They are so open about everything. Would Bakugou be like that with him ever..? Probably not.

Shinsou sighed before turning to Bakugou. The guy was scrubbing a few pots in the sink. He tapped his boyfriend's shoulder, hoping he would actually look up.

“What?”

He reached out and put his hand in Bakugou's view.

Go to bed. I'll finish this up. Midoriya is gone so you don't have to worry about that. Also, before you say I should go to sleep we all know that's not happening.

Bakugou smacked his hand away. His hand now had dish soap on it. He pouted.

Bakugou leaned back and gestured to his heading aid.

Shinsou used his clean hand and reached out to turn it on for Bakugou.

“I wasn't going to say that. I was going to say there's a plate over there for you. If you take five bites I'll quit right now and let you finish up. Your choice.” Shinsou didn't see that coming.

“You jerk.” He mumbled while pressing himself against Katsuki's side. He stole the soap and washed off his hands. “Why would you make me choose that?”

“So you don't die of starvation.” He grumbled.

Shinsou rolled his eyes and dried off his hands, stalling for time. “Fine.”

He went to grab the plate that was clearly only out for a few minutes. Katsuki must've known he would come down here. He almost regrets it now.

The first two bites were pretty simple. Bakugou wasn't even looking at him. He could tell the male wasn't trying to put extra pressure on him.

He wanted to stop but Katsuki really should go to bed. He's done plenty for tonight.

His hand started to shake a little as he stared down at the plate hopelessly.

“Relax babe.” It took him a minute to understand that Katsuki actually said that. He never called him anything sweet like that. He didn't expect it here. His stomach warmed up.

“R-Right.” He took another bite and closed his eyes. He could keep it down. It wouldn't hurt him.

If he doesn't finish soon then Katsuki will be done.

He managed to take the last two bites a minute later. It didn't feel any different to him. He always felt empty inside.

“There. Go to bed.”

Bakugou nodded and put down the few dishes he had left. “Thank you.” He spoke while washing his hands and cleaning off his arms. He walked over to Shinsou. Bakugou glanced up to see no one was around and kissed his forehead. “You're getting better. Despite what you probably think. When you're done I'll be in your room Purple.”

Shinsou stared off as Bakugou left the kitchen. He couldn't believe what just happened. Babe and a forehead kiss? Was Bakugou trying to kill him with unexpected affection?

At least Katsuki found a good way to distract him when his thoughts were getting to his head.

Shinsou yawned as he finished up the dishes. It took a bit longer than he originally thought it would. He didn't mind though. At least he was able to shoo Bakugou away from here. It's not like he would be able to just go to sleep anyway.

He grabbed a towel from nearby to dry them all. He glanced back and peaked into the common room. It seemed like everyone went to bed. That was nice. He had the space to himself. Sometimes he just needed quiet.

Unfortunately, it wasn't peaceful for long. As he stacked the plates his mind drifted towards Hideo, seeing him in the store was scary. He was definitely being stalked. He turned to look over towards the window. No one was there but he felt like there was a presence none the less.

Why did his brain have to scare him like that? He washed his hands off one more time for good measure then went to turn off the light. He walked out to the common room and sat on the couch. He pulled out his phone.

It was probably not the greatest idea to message his dad now but he couldn't help himself.

Do you think he already knows which dorm I'm in? It almost seemed like he knew I would be in the store with Bakugou earlier.

It took less than a minute for his father to respond.

Unfortunately, he might have. That's why I put everyone on lock down. I'm already out and looking for him. Try to relax. You know I won't let him touch you.

Shinsou thought about listening but he looked up to the window again.

Since you're out can you check the dorm building? I feel like he's out here. I'm sure I'm crazy but please?

His text was left on read but he knew that meant Aizawa was already on his way. He stood and started to walk to the elevator. Maybe he should try to sleep, worrying like this won't help.

By the time he got to his door his phone vibrated in his hand.

All clear.

He put his phone away and opened his door.
He was greeted with the sight of Bakugou sprawled out on his bed. The blond was asleep. Good.

Shinsou went over and climbed into bed beside him. He pulled the male to his chest and closed his eyes. The smell of burnt caramel was enough to make him relax a little.

Notes:

I decided to make this chapter a little longer since today marks a month of me writing this disaster! Plus, it's chapter 20 so it seems fitting. I have no idea how I'm going to end this. Don't worry, I'm no where near that yet. Thanks to everyone who has kept up with it for this long!

Chapter 21: Lots Of Bubbles

Chapter Text

“Hitoshiii!” A small voice shouted.

Shinsou quickly woke up. That voice belonged to Eri. He peaked his eyes open to see her looking right at him. Usually, that wouldn't be a problem. If only that was the case right now.

Bakugou had his face shoved into his chest. His legs were tangled with his to where he couldn't escape that easily. “Eri, do you want me to make you some hot chocolate? If you give me a second to get ready I'll make you some.” He hoped that would be enough of a distraction.

It seemed to work as she ran out of the room squealing.

Thank god.

He moved and shook Bakugou. The blond only tightened his grip. He mumbled before letting out a soft snore. He snickered slightly at that. Bakugou always gave him a hard time about snoring and here he was.

Shinsou yawned before forcing himself to focus.

He couldn't stay here. Aizawa was definitely in the common room if Eri was here. He probably told her to come get him. If his dad figures out that Bakugou is here again they will get into more trouble. They have already been caught like this once.

Shinsou managed to get himself free from the troublemaker with a little work.

He moved and picked up the blond. Somehow the guy was still out cold. It was weird since he's usually up early. Though, he did stay up pretty late. Yesterday was a lot. Shinsou took Bakugou back to his own room and laid him down. “Sorry, Kats. I wish I could stick around. Cuddling sounds amazing right now.”

He pulled up the blankets on his boyfriend. He looked so cute like this. He was a lot more relaxed in this state. Shinsou only got to experience this a few times.

No! He can't keep admiring his beautiful boyfriend! He ran back to his room and hurried to change his clothes. He showered last night, so he was fine.

He reached out to grab Bakugou's charging case that held his hearing aids. He shoved it into his pocket. He'll drop these off in the blond's room really quick then be on his way.

He walked out of his room only to see Eri standing there.

“You're taking forever! I want my hot chocolate!” She looked up at him with sad puppy eyes.

He let Eri ride on his shoulders as he walked into the kitchen. He could never say no to his sister.

Everyone was already awake and lively. It always seems to be this way when she's around. He could feel a small smile forming on his face.

She bounced around as he finished it up. “Can I have marshmallows in it?”

Shinsou moved to place her on the floor. “I'm not sure if we have any.” He went to the cabinet and looked. There was a pack of rainbow marshmallows at the very top shelf. It almost looked like they were hidden. He was tall enough to see them though.

He looked down at his sister who was dancing around his legs. He took them out. He'll just buy a new bag and put them back. He knew whoever these belonged too would understand. It was likely one of the girls or Sato.

He put them in the hot chocolate before holding out the cup to her. “Be careful. It's hot.”

She took it slowly and nodded. “Aren't you going to have a cup? It's more fun when you drink it with me.”

It's been a long time since he's had a cup with her.

“No, it's okay. I just woke up and I'm not really thirsty.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Let's go see everyone. I'm sure they are waiting for you.”

Literally everyone was in the common room besides Katsuki, Izuku, and Aizawa.

Well, that was both good and bad. For his sake it was good since Aizawa wouldn't be discovering that Bakugou was in his room. Now, he had to go find his dad. Shinsou already had a feeling he knew where he was.

Before he could leave he heard as a door opened. In came Mic from the entrance. He was holding a bubble blower. He must've gone to grab that. Well, it now makes more sense why Eri was able to run around. Someone was still watching her.

Shinsou approached his father. “Is Aizawa with Midoriya?” He whispered.

It didn't really matter since all his classmates were distracted with Eri. They were all taking turns tossing her into the air.

Yeah, it's another one of his rough days. It sure has been a while since it's happened too.” Mic reached out to rub his head. “Don't worry about it. He's being taken care of so spend time with your sister.” He mumbled before pausing. “Also, I happened to notice that Bakugou is nowhere in sight? Hear anything about that?”

Shinsou tensed up slightly. “Um, not really. Though, he did stay up late washing the dishes. I finished it for him. Maybe he's just extra tired?”

Mic kept his gaze on him a bit longer than necessary before shrugging. “Fair enough. We do expect details about you two at some point. You don't let anyone that close. We aren't mad, just curious.”

Shinsou nodded. He wanted to tell them but there hasn't been a great time to do so. “I will. I just talked it over with Katsuki.”

“Katsuki, huh? First names already? I'm intrigued now.”

Shinsou whined. "Leave me alone."

Mic shook his head. "That's no fun! Plus, I'm your father so definitely no can do. My main mission is to bother you!"

Shinsou was doomed forever.

Mic held out the bubble wand to him. “Go show your sister what this can do!”

He took it and looked at Mic. “She's never played with this before?”

Mic shook his head. “We've shown her a lot but there's still so much she needs to learn about. It's good you show her some stuff too.”

His father was right about that. He had a strong bond with Eri but he was way older. They didn't have a lot of time to hang out. This would be a good excuse to have fun with her.

He hugged Mic and thanked him. Then he went over to Eri.

“Eri, have you ever seen this before?”

His sister was already running over from hearing her name. “No?”

“Well, watch this!” He waved it around and watched her absolutely lose her mind over the bubbles.

“They are so pretty!”

Kirishima came and kneed beside her. “You can also pop them!” He popped one and she giggled.

“Did I miss all the fun?”

Shinsou looked up to see Midoriya walking in with a box in his hands. He looked tired and well..sad. Hopefully, no one else would really notice. Actually, that bandage on his head would probably be enough of a distraction.

Eri went to hug Midoriya's legs.

“I got everyone something.” He moved around Eri to set the box down. It was full of bubble wands.

Aizawa appeared from behind the corner. Yup, his fathers definitely planned this for the class. Everyone needed a break and to play with Eri. Bubble wands seemed to be a pretty good idea.

Shinsou watched as his classmates played with the wands like children. Midoriya hugged Eri for a little before showing her a few tricks with his own bubble wand.

He found himself going beside Midoriya. “Is your head okay? I know you were pretty rough last night.”

Izuku turned to look at him. “Yeah, I'm doing a little better now. Less pain at least.”

“That's good. You know you can always talk to me.”

“I know. Thank you Shinsou. Really.” He saw a small smile forming on his face. That was enough to reassure him for now.

He left Midoriya to continue having fun with Eri.

He decided he could take a small break since his classmates had it from here. Shinsou went to one of the empty couches and laid down on it.

There was a lot of laughter and noise, yet it was comforting enough for him to close his eyes. He tried to do what Aizawa had said before and relaxed. He was with his whole class right now. There's no reason to overthink.

After about five minutes he was finally able to just lay there and exist. It didn't last long. He felt a poking at his face. That was different. He peaked open one of his eyes.

He was a bit surprised to see Bakugou right there. The guy's hair was a mess. It was obvious he just woke up a few minutes ago. He was gesturing to his ears.

It took him a second to remember he had them. Oh!

Sorry! I wanted to put them in your room but Eri dragged me down here!' He signed out before reaching into his pocket and pulled them out.

The blond shrugged in response and took them. He then shoved Shinsou's legs off the couch. He moved and sat up, knowing Bakugou wanted to sit down.

‘I can't put them in my ears right in front of everyone. Nudge me if any of the extras try to talk to me.’

Shinsou nodded before watching as Bakugou leaned back on the couch. He wondered if the blond would go back to sleep. It seemed unlikely considering everyone was around them.

Shinsou pulled out his phone before getting Bakugou's attention.

Want to watch brainrot cat videos with me?’

The guy didn't say no..so he took it as a yes. He hit the play button and relaxed. Sitting close to Bakugou like this helped him relax in a different way. He wasn't alone. He had his family and his weird boyfriend.

As time passed they shifted a little closer. Neither of them caught onto Shinsou's fathers glancing over at them from time to time.

They were too absorbed into their own little world.

Chapter 22: Walking On Eggshells

Chapter Text

Shinsou collapsed onto the floor. Eri had too much energy for him. Somehow he got wrapped up in playing more games with her. It was obvious she was happy with everyone but Eri definitely wanted his attention on her most of the time. He only got to watch videos with Bakugou for about thirty minutes. Then she came to look at them both with big eyes. He could never say no to her cute little face.

Bakugou had taken the chance to sneak away and put in his hearing aids.

She wanted everyone to dance like they had during the school festival in first year. Luckily, Shinsou was able to come up with the excuse that he didn't know the moves dance moves and would be in the way. Eri just gave him a bunch of bubble wands and told him to cheer.

He felt like an idiot but he did it for her. Now, she is leaving. Mina and Jirou were saying their goodbyes. Everyone else has already. Shinsou included.

He curled up on the floor. He could move in a minute.

“Are you already done for the day?”

He rolled his eyes as he heard the voice. “No, Ka- Bakugou. I'm just resting for a minute. After you left she pulled me into like three other games.”

“Cry me a river. Get up. You said you wanted to help with cooking, right? This will be your only chance.” The blond mumbled before leaving and going into the kitchen.

Wait, Katsuki is actually going to let him help?

He zoomed after him in seconds.

It didn't take long before he was right behind Katsuki and leaning over him. “What are you going to make?”

Bakugou shoved him away in seconds. “Don't get so close. It's not going to be anything fancy. Especially since Eri was here all day so there isn't much time. Plus, I'm not actually sure how well you can cook, so you can make the dessert.”

“I can cook just fine!” He pouted.

Bakugou didn't listen. Though, he was surprised the guy put him in charge of the dessert. Usually, baking is harder than cooking. At least that's what he's heard?

Get out!”

Shinsou whined as he was hit upside the head with a rolling pin. “I'm not doing that bad!”

Yes, he was. The whole kitchen was a mess. There was flour and cracked eggshells all over. Bakugou put him in charge of making a small dessert. Instead, it seemed as though he threw every ingredient across the kitchen. His boyfriend was going to kill him.

Bakugou was now at his side trying to physically push him out. He was doing his best to resist. He could fix this..maybe. Probably not.

“At least let me clean this up!”

“Hell no! You'll probably find a way to trip over all this stuff and make it worse!” Bakugou argued while pushing harder.

“I will not! Just let me help!” He reached out and grabbed onto one of the pipping guns Bakugou had prepped for him. “I can at least put the frosting on-” Before he could even finish he ended up slipping forward on an eggshell. He tried to catch himself by moving to grab the counter. It didn't really work and the pipping gun came apart. He fell onto his side and looked back up at Bakugou.

He was about to speak but stopped. The guy was covered in frosting.

“Oh no. Katsuki..I'm sorry! Don't kill me!” He raised his hands and backed up against the cabinet. He was done for now.

Bakugou glared down at him. “You have..five seconds!

Shinsou ran out of the kitchen like someone told him the building was on fire.

He sighed and collected himself. He would have to make it up to Katsuki later. He really did screw everything up in there.

Not that he was given much time to think before he was tackled to the ground. Ouch!

He didn't know Katsuki would follow him out here. He blinked and looked at Katsuki. “Why did you follow me here?” He whined and struggled against him. “Get off..you're heavy.”

Bakugou glared deeply before pulling out another pipping gun he had hidden behind his back.

What?! No..don't do it-!

The whole class got to witness Katsuki letting out all the frosting onto him.

The blond then got up and from what it sounded like turned towards the whole room. “No one is allowed in here! Including him!” With that stomping could be heard going back to the kitchen.

“Are you okay?” He heard Kaminari ask.

“Yeah, I just need a shower now.” He sighed before sitting up. He raised his hand and wiped off some of the frosting. Then he decided to taste it. Honestly, it was pretty good. He could tell that Katsuki had made it before. He wasn't sure when though. His boyfriend was definitely talented, so he didn't ask.

“I'm surprised he actually let you stay in there and attempt to make something. I've never even seen him allow Kiri to work with him.” The guy rambled while looking confused. “Did you blackmail him or something?”

“Huh, no? Why would I do that?!” He hoped that Kaminari would stop asking weird questions. No one needs to figure out their relationship. If Kaminari did right now somehow then Katsuki might actually kill him.

“Hmm, I don't know. I just can't get over that he let you in ‘his kitchen’ to help out.” He seemed to shrug it off after.

Shinsou shook his head a little. “I think you're just overthinking it a little?” He suggested before turning around. “Anyway, I'm going to clean off this frosting.

Wait, you might miss dinner though!”

Shinsou waved him off. “It's fine. I can make myself something else if I need to.” He quickly escaped before Kaminari could say something else.

He decided to take a bath and soak instead. He was covered in flour again from his horrible attempt at baking.

The bath was empty so he took advantage of that.

It wasn't long before he settled in and relaxed. He washed his hair and cleaned himself off. Now, he could just soak for a few minutes. He lowered his whole body down to where just his head was sticking out of the water. There wasn't a huge rush to get out since the whole class was currently having dinner. It was nice.

He allowed for his eyes to close. He had a lot to think about. Like how he was going to explain his current relationship to his parents. It would probably be an endless amount of questions.

He sighed before dunking his head under the water for a minute. He then came back up. Maybe he should take baths more often. He could already feel it helping him calm down.

Chapter Text

Shinsou ended up relaxing a little more than he originally intended too. The water just felt so nice and warm.

A hand brushed through his hair. That was what caused him to open his eyes. To no one's surprise Bakugou was in front of him. He blinked a few times. When did he sneak in here? He didn't even hear him jump in like usual. Most of the time he would be focusing on dodging the big splash Katsuki causes.

“Did you just get in here?”

Bakugou rolled his eyes. “Yeah, I did. By the way, try not to fall asleep in a bath. It's a horrible idea, idiot.” He felt as the Katsuki tapped his head a few times before lowering his hand into the water.

I wasn't asleep?”

Bakugou just stared at him. “How long have you been in here then?”

“Like fifteen minutes?” He guessed.

Over an hour.”

Shinsou rubbed his neck. “How do you even know?”

“Because I pay attention! You didn't eat dinner and the others told me you planned to take a shower or something like that. I waited for you to come back but there was no sign of life from you, so I checked your room, the showers, then discovered you here.”

“Okay, I get it.” He moved and splashed Bakugou.

The blond grumbled in response. “You already made a mess of the kitchen. Don't even start with the bathroom.”

He had a point there. He stopped.

Instead, he took a moment to appreciate his boyfriend's body. As usual he looked good. Especially in the water like this.

"Checking me out already?"

"Nah. You wish."

He allowed himself to close his eyes again. It was different with Bakugou being his boyfriend now but not too strange. They usually took a bath together but the whole class was around. This did feel a little intimate. Not that he should care. He's seen Bakugou shirtless quite a few times now.

“Have you actually cleaned yourself up yet?” He asked since he slept through Bakugou getting in here.

“Yeah, just gotta wash my hair. I actually let you sleep a bit longer. Not that it matters since those eye bags will probably never leave.”

“Thanks.” He did appreciate that. Bakugou was soft around him during quiet moments. It was nice to see. “Can I..uh- well nevermind.” He chuckled before looking away.

“What? Don't act all shy. You wanna make out in the bath or something?” He smirked.

And somehow you're the one who wants our classmates to be unaware of our relationship?” He poked Bakugou, unable to resist. He also avoided the question like this.

Bakugou now splashed him. He coughed.

“Shut up! It's their fault if they walk in here!”

“I don't think that's how it works. Plus, this is literally a public bath. Not our rooms.” Shinsou nudged him.

“Yeah, yeah. If we get caught making out then I guess I don't care. It's worth it..but I know that's not what you were gonna say so spit it out.”

Shinsou fidgeted with his hands underneath the water. “Well..-” He looked away towards one of the walls. “Maybe it won't be a good idea since anyone could walk in here but I was going to ask if I could wash your hair?”

Bakugou scoffed.

Shoot, he knew he was an idiot for asking. Why would the male want to do something so simple and sweet? He knew Bakugou wasn't super into that. He was blunt and standoffish for a reason.

Sorry-”

“Shut up. Just get it over with and don't take too long.” The blond mumbled before sinking into the water. It was obvious he didn't mind the idea or he probably would've received another splash.

“Wait, really? You're comfortable enough to let me?” He mumbled, wanting to make sure.

Bakugou growled in annoyance. “Yeah but I won't be if you don't hurry up! I don't want to spend an hour here like you already have.”

Shinsou nodded even though Bakugou wasn't able to see it. “Okay.” He reached over to grab Bakugou's shampoo that was sitting on the edge of the tub. He squeezed a bit into his hand before placing them on the male's head.

His hair was a lot softer than he expected it to be. It took him a minute to actually focus on washing the blond's hair. This was different but nice. Maybe it was a little weird but he didn't care. It's not like he was planning on breaking up with Katsuki. Even if it seemed like they were going a little faster then what the standard should be for a relationship.

"Do you think we are going to fast?" He suddenly found himself asking before he could shut up.

Bakugou hummed in response. "Nah, like I said before who cares. It's ours and that's what matters. We do what we want."

That was a good enough answer for him.

After about a minute he was done. That seemed to be enough for Katsuki since he plunged himself into the water. Shinsou watched him.

Bakugou came back up and sighed. He ran a hand through his now clean hair. “Thanks, I guess.” He then moved to flick Shinsou's forehead. “Come on. We really should get out of here.”

"What is your obsession with constantly hitting my head?" He muttered before moving to get out.

Shinsou collapsed onto his bed. The bath was enough to wear him down. He knew Bakugou would eventually sneak in here but until then he would simply lay here. Though, he could hear Jellybean meowing at him from across the room. That didn't help him relax.

"Jellybeannnn. Whatttt."

Meow.

“What? You don't usually make this much noise. Especially not this late.”

He waited a good minute but Jellybean didn't stop. He huffed before dragging himself up. “Alright, what is it? Did I forget to feed you? If so, then I'm a horrible parent.” He mumbled to himself while wandering over to his cat who was sitting beside the window on his desk.

He gently poked Jellybean. The void just kept meowing, so he glanced over to his food bowl and water bowl. Both of them were full. So, what was it..? “Do you want me to open the window or something? You never beg for it this late..” Shinsou went to open his window but froze. There was a piece of paper stuck in between the window. He wasn't sure how he didn't notice it sooner.

He hesitantly reached out and picked it up. He could tell it was a note. He noticed that his cat stopped meowing. He looked back to Jellybean. “Is this what you wanted me to see?”

It seemed like it, which sort of scared him. Was somebody in his room? How did it get stuck between his window? This wasn't normal.

He cracked open the note.

I know which room you're in Hitoshi. (I don't think the cat is very fond of me though.)

That freak actually got into his room! How had the dorm security or the teachers not caught him climbing up here?!

He crumbled up the paper. “He better be messing with me!” He turned his attention to Jellybean. “I don't care what happens. He won't touch you. He'll have to kill me first.” He picked up his cat. “Looks like we're staying the night somewhere else.”

He grabbed a bag of cat treats and left the room, carrying his little void in plain sight.

Notes:

When I first started writing about Shinsou wanting to wash his hair I forgot they were in the bath. It's okay. I made it work (I think). They are in love and nothing will stop them. So if it's goofy I'm sorry.

Chapter 24: Guardrails

Notes:

This was originally going to be two separate chapters but I wanted to combine them. You get a Baku POV in the beginning then it goes back to Toshi. So enjoyyy.

Chapter Text

Bakugou had planned to go bother his boyfriend after the bath but that never did happen. All he could think about were Shinsou's hands. They felt so good running through his hair. He just wanted to lean back in the bath and let him massage his head. It probably would be weird for him to ask that. He laid down and completely knocked out in seconds as his brain continued to think about Hitoshi.

So, when he was being shaken awake he grumbled. He was confused as he sat up glaring into the darkness. He could tell it was Hitoshi who was shaking him. He knew how the guy's hands felt. Was the idiot annoyed he didn't show up or something? It's not like he meant to shut his eyes.

He could hear the guy moving around, which made him realize he fell asleep with his heading aids in. It was actually a good thing he was being woken up. Not that he wanted to be bothered. “What..?”

Shinsou must've checked his charging cause as he heard him speak up again. “Did you actually fall asleep with your hearing aids in?”

“By accident yeah. Is that all you wanted to wake me up for?” He mumbled as he rubbed his eyes.

“No, come with me.”

Bakugou tried to figure out what was going on as he dragged himself out of bed. He was even more confused as Hitoshi guided him out of the room and into the hallway. “What is going on? Don't drag me! I can walk myself you know- Wait, why are you holding the cat?”

Since the halls were always lit up Jellybean stuck out like a sore thumb. His eyes landed on Shinsou. He looked nervous. That immediately snapped him into focus. “What's wrong?”

He reached out and took the cat treats from Shinsou, so he could hold Jellybean easier.

Shinsou looked down at the floor. “We need to go to the teachers lounge. I already texted my dad. Hideo left a note in my window. I'm sure you don't mind coming with me but I'm taking you since he saw you back in the store.”

Bakugou didn't think as he lifted his hand and placed it against Shinsou's cheek. “Course I don't mind, so calm down. I'll blast that loser if he even tries to get close to you.”

“I'm pretty sure he actually got into my room..”

He what?! Let's go!” He grabbed Shinsou's hand and ran. This was definitely a problem. He didn't care if he looked like a mess right now. His bed head would just have to do.

Bakugou blinked as he found himself in the back of Aizawa’s car. He didn't expect the solution to be going to his mentor's house?! He insisted that it wasn't necessary but his teacher ignored him.

He looked out the window as he flashed back into the conversation moments before.

So, explain what happened?” Aizawa had said while looking the two of them over. “I see your cat is safe, which is good.”

“He left this note. Nothing in my room was messed with but it feels uncomfortable. Maybe I'm just creeped out?” Shinsou had rambled while tugging at his hair.

“I don't like that he got past our security. I'm going to assign a few pros to look over the school. Even All Might. For tonight you and Katsuki are coming home with me.”

Bakugou felt as the car slowed before pulling into a driveway. He looked up to see Aizawa's house. Great. This wasn't nerve wracking at all.

He was quiet for the next few minutes, which was probably the longest ever in his life. Once they entered he looked around. It was nice and simple. Nothing he didn't expect really.

“Would you two like anything to eat? I know it's pretty late but Eri was around all day this morning. I don't mind having Mic make you something really quick.” He offered while pointing to his husband holding down the couch.

Bakugou wanted to say no but he knew Shinsou didn't eat yet. “Yeah, whatever. I never got to eat.”

Aizawa seemed to look at him for a moment before understanding why he said that.

Shinsou on the other hand didn't really put it together yet. He was more nervous than anything. “I'm not hungry.”

Aizawa went over and took Shinsou's cat. “I'm going to have him make something for Bakugou then. I'm going to get Jellybean settled for the night in your room. Tell Mic what's going on.”

Bakugou watched his boyfriend nod. He felt a bit awkward like this. They knew they were dating but he didn't expect to be visiting the parents so soon. At least they were just just teachers, so he already knew them. There was still pressure to act normal and not scream though.

He sort of just sat at the table as Mic and Hitoshi talked. He got on his phone to pretend to look busy and not uncomfortable. It didn't take long before he actually got distracted. He found himself searching up Hideo’s name. Nothing popped up. Ugh, stupid jerk. He didn't like how he was getting closer and closer to his boyfriend.

Fifteen minutes passed before Mic finished making a small plate of scrambled eggs. His teacher set it in front of him, which was enough to startle him. “Here, eat up. I need to ask Shouta something.” He smiled before walking off.

Bakugou nodded before looking over to Shinsou who sat across from him. He slid the plate his way. Shinsou gave him a look of confusion. “Eat. This is for you.” He could see as Shinsou's muscles tensed up. “I know you're worried and eating is hard. Please. At least five bites like before.” He mumbled so no one else would overhear. He wondered if his parents already knew of Hitoshi’s bad habit.

Shinsou sighed before picking up the fork. “You asshole.” He grumbled while staring down the eggs.

“I know but you didn't eat dinner earlier. Don't think I'm dumb enough to forget about that!” He huffed while placing his head in his hand.

Shinsou struggled a bit more before taking a bite. It wasn't fun to watch Shinsou mentally fight himself every time he tried to eat. What could he do? There has to be something. As he zoned out he looked back down to his phone. He tried a few different searches but nothing came up. He stopped for the time being.

He closed out the tab and set it to the side. Now, he was more focused on the problem in front of him. His sad looking boyfriend. He looked like someone kicked a puppy. “Don't give me that look.”

“I wasn't. I was giving it to the plate.”

He rolled his eyes. “How many bites have you taken?”

“Would you believe me if I said ten?”

Bakugou sighed. “No but I wish I could.”

Shinsou whined before putting his head on the table. “Two.”

Bakugou nodded as he kept his gaze on Hitoshi. “Come on, keep going.”

As he waited for Shinsou to finish he looked around. He was a bit surprised that Mic never did come back. Maybe they did know about Shinsou's issue? It wouldn't be surprising but why didn't they get him therapy or something? Then again it was likely they did and Hitoshi said no. He was pretty freaking stubborn. That's one thing he's definitely learned.

“I'm done.”

His eyes fell to the plate. He only took four bites. That's hardly anything. “You can't do one more?” His question wasn't filled with judgement, just curiosity. He hid his hands under the table as he scratched at his arms roughly. He didn't need for Shinsou to see his reaction. He pulled his sleeves down afterwards.

“No. I'll be sick if I do.”

He nodded before standing up. “Okay.” He took the plate.

He felt as a hand landed on his wrist. It made his heart pound for a second. Did he see what he did? He looked at Shinsou calmly. “What is it idiot?”

“You're the guest. Put the plate down. I'll wash it, Katsuki.”

“Don't be ridiculous. I can wash my own plate.” He grumbled but Shinsou snatched it while he complained. Stupid Eyebags.

He stood there waiting as Shinsou washed his plate off. He wasn't used to being on the receiving end for anything. Even something simple like this. He liked to have control and do everything.

Before he could say another word Mic casually popped back in. “Toshi, your room is ready. I'm assuming Katsuki is sleeping beside you. If not, I'll set up the couch.”

Bakugou couldn't even get in a word then as Shinsou thanked him. Guess he was sleeping with Hitoshi. Not that he minded. Hell, who knows if his lunatic boyfriend will even sleep.

It didn't take them long to get settled in the bed. Bakugou threw his half of the blanket onto Hitoshi. He was hot laying beside him like this. The guy's bed was pretty small but he didn't mind.

“Are we even going to go back to school tomorrow?” He asked as he pressed his back against Shinsou. He didn't know if Aizawa would let them go back. It seemed unlikely.

“I don't know. I'll have to ask. I don't think they'll catch him tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone now has a few free days away from school.”

With that he sighed and turned to spoon Hitoshi. The male was much cooler then him. It was actually impressive how little body heat he seemed to carry. “He won't get you. I don't care if I have to blast this moron myself. “What exactly is his stupid quirk anyway?”

“He's sort of like Todoroki. It seems like he has two quirks but it's all linked together. He can heat up his hands like you, only there are no explosions. His main part of the quirk is the problem. If he touches you anywhere it causes your heartbeat to speed up and rise every ten seconds. It doesn't sound threatening but it definitely escalates quickly.” Hitoshi mumbled while curling in on himself.

“Great. Super simple.” He squeezed Shinsou. “We'll beat this freak somehow. I don't care what is dumb quirk is. We're stronger.”

He felt as Hitoshi reached out and took a hold of his hand under the covers. It would've been sweet if he didn't feel him shaking.

"Just try your best to sleep. Okay, Purple?"

Shinsou tried his best to sleep that night but he had no success.

These past few days have been super stress consuming. He couldn't sleep at all. All he could do was lay beside Bakugou as the guy slept. He wasn't mad at Katsuki but he was a little jealous. If only his body was normal like that.

All he could do was sit around and worry that there were eyes on him. There was no track of Hideo, so they were letting everyone return to classes. He knew there wasn't much anyone could do for now.

The car was quiet as it was making its way back towards the school. His face was pressed against the glass. His hoodie was pulled up past his head. There were a few bumps that forced his eyes open. He couldn't even pass out in the car. Usually, it was enough to sort of rock him into a dozing state at the very least.

He was so pissed and scared. That likely wasn't helping with anything. Hideo has done so much to him in the past. Why is he coming back to do it all over?

He sat up straight and looked across to the other seat. Bakugou was obviously asleep. Since it was quiet he heard the guy let out a few soft snores. The blond had been staying awake with him as long as he could. It was sweet but it was good that he was resting now. Bakugou doesn't need to pick up his problems. He reached out to take the male's hand.

“Do you want me to turn off the radio?” His father had mumbled from the front.

“No. The noise difference would probably bother him.” He explained before looking down at his legs.

He sighed out softly. His eyes were burning and he felt like he was losing his mind. He let go of Bakugou's hand to raise his own to his month. He bit the side of his hand. Stupid stress.

He let his eyes wander back out the window. He noticed as they were making their way past guardrails. Half of them looked pretty beaten up. They really should call people out to fix those.

“Dad, I'm bored and can't sleep. My brain is analyzing the guardrails and thinking too much. Give me a different distraction.”

Aizawa looked back at him again. “I can't really do that right now. Wake your boyfriend if you're that bored.” He suggested.

He looked back to Katsuki again. He wouldn't do that. Though, he lifted his phone and took a picture of him. He was cute like this.

He has made a small photo collection of the blond. He was awake in most of them. Only the ones like these are what Katsuki was unaware of.

I didn't mean to take pictures of him.”

"He's cute. I can't help it. I'm building my collection to put on my wall as a photo collage." He chuckled, knowing his dad would have something to say about that.

"To put on the wall? Absolutely not. I see him enough as it is. Don't make it worse. Also, please never call him cute in front of my face ever again. Flirt with him away from me."

Before he could say anything else he felt as the car suddenly started to screech and came to a sudden stop.

"Uh- what's happening?!" He shouted as he sat up straight, trying to understand what made the vehicle stop.

Suddenly, Hideo was on the hood smirking at them. He made a peace sign with his hand before jumping off.

Shinsou didn't have much time to think about why before a car from behind suddenly rammed into them.

Unfortunately, that felt like it was on purpose.

Oh shit! The railing!

He could tell his dad was already reacting. He was trying to swerve to the side. It didn't work as another car came from the right side to run into them.

This was planned!

If they got out then someone would just hit them. They are stuck!

It didn't matter. None of them had time to do anything before a final car from the left crashed into them, making Aizawa's car fall from the side.

He went down screaming.

Chapter 25: Aftermath

Chapter Text

He gripped onto his seatbelt for dear life. He's never been in any type of car crash before. Much less been thrown off the road. He couldn't even think straight right now.

Shinsou felt himself panic enough to where couldn't breathe properly. A hand grabbed onto his arm. He didn't even realize his eyes closed. He screamed out as Bakugou unbuckled him. “Katsuki!! I'm sorry you shouldn't even be involved in this!”

“Quit freaking out! We got like twenty seconds! Hold on to me!” The blond shouted in response.

He did so unable to do anything else in this situation. His capture weapon wasn't on him. He clung onto Katsuki.

Katsuki managed to squeeze them out his open window. He was able to spot Aizawa hanging onto the side of the cliff with his own capture weapon. That seemed to help his panic fade a little.

Bakugou blasted up and right beside Aizawa. He gripped onto the hill while keeping Hitoshi tucked close. His boyfriend was incredibly strong. Though, it was probably adrenaline.

“Hideo's up there isn't he?!” Shinsou heard the guy shout while he hung in the air.

Unfortunately. We have to get back up there. Hitoshi doesn't have anything to keep himself from falling.”

He was right. He will die. The fall from here was too far. He couldn't even see the ground. His panic immediately came back. Did Hideo know that? He might've waited for this exact moment to raid them.

He felt himself get elbowed in the side. “Don't freak out! I'm not gonna let you fall, idiot! Even if I slip, Aizawa is here too!”

Bakugou was right but he didn't like that.

“What are we supposed to do? He's just waiting for us to come up?” He held on tighter as a gust of wind blew them. “Especially me.” He mumbled the last part to himself, pressing his face into the blond. He could tell the male was shaking. Holding on like this couldn't be easy.

It didn't seem like even Aizawa had an idea of what to do yet. He couldn't hold onto Bakugou like this forever though. “I'm going up there. You two should wait. Maybe I can make it seem like I'm the only one who was able to hold on.”

Bakugou turned his head slightly. “What if he checks?”

Shinsou shrugged in response. “I don't know if he will. Obviously, he just wants me back.”

I don't like that plan.”

Shinsou knew no one really would but he didn't know what else to do. If he didn't face Hideo then the creep would keep following him. He had to do it sooner or later.

Me neither. I'm going up.” He decided before moving and clinging to the cliff himself. He was able to climb. He got trained just the same as everyone else.

Bakugou grumbled and Aizawa was oddly quiet.

He looked over to his father. The male tossed him his binding cloth. That threw him off guard but he caught it. “Don't you need this?!”

Aizawa shook his head. “Not right now. He's after you kid. Don't worry, we'll be right behind you.”

Shinsou wrapped it around his neck. It was difficult with all the wind blowing around. He sighed before climbing and pulling himself up. Hideo was at the top, smirking.

“What do you want? Was it necessary to hurt my family!” He shouted. He had his quirk at the ready but he knew Hideo was smart enough not to answer.

“You're coming with me. I've been struggling with my deals and I need my son back. It's a shame you got away before.” Hideo spoke as he waved off his little group. They all drove away. He probably paid them to do this.

Of course, the guy knew better than to answer his question. Besides, Hideo likely knew they were fine. Aizawa was a pro; he would obviously keep them both safe.

“No way. I'm never coming back with you. You might as well stop following me!” He reached up to grip Aizawa's binding cloth.

Hideo glared at him. “No one gave you the right to talk back to me.”

“Youre right. I don't care. I'm not your son. I never was. All you did was use me for my quirk!” He stretched out the cloth, waiting to see what he would do.

It didn't take Hideo long before he launched himself at Shinsou. He dodged the male and wrapped the cloth around his arms, forcing him to the ground.

“What got nothing to say? You've messed up my life! Despite being in a much better place I still have thoughts of what you made me do. I can't get them out of my head. I can't even eat anymore thanks to you..” His voice lowered as he glared down at the man who hurt him. “What's worse is you don't even care. You wouldn't even have looked back if I died. You're the reason I have fucked up thoughts!”

Hideo struggled against the cloth before managing to place one of his hands on it, burning a little part of it. “You expect me to care? You do what I say. It's always been that way Hitoshi.”

“Not anymore.” Shinsou was able to hook him. “Quit resisting and lay down. Also, never call me Hitoshi again.” He knew he couldn't control what Hideo said but he would try.

Hideo did as he was told. Shinsou could tell the male was fighting him. It hurt to hold him under it but he didn't care.

Before Shinsou could speak again Aizawa landed right beside him. “He's my child. You haven't been in his life for years. He can do whatever he wants. Don't ever talk about him like that again. You're being arrested.” He felt an arm wrap around his back. It helped a little but he couldn't lose focus.

Bakugou blasted up and in front of Shinsou. “Back off you freak. Go get a real job and stop being a deadbeat!” Bakugou shouted even though he knew Hideo was under his quirk.

Shinsou hunkered down a little. “Man, he sure is fighting this.”

Aizawa let go of him and rubbed his temples. “I shared this location with the police. They should be coming any second. You won't have to deal with him again. Sorry, you had to be involved with capturing him. I wanted to keep you far away from his sight.”

“It's okay. I don't care as long as I can live my life without seeing him again.” He mumbled quietly.

His body loosened up a little as he heard a bunch of cops pull in. He was safe now.

Shinsou held his head in his hands. He could feel a migraine coming in strong. This whole day took it out of him. He curled up in his bed just squeezing his eyes shut. He used his quirk for much longer than planned.

It took the police forever to properly cuff him. He stopped using his quirk only for Hideo to touch them. It caused a whole problem but Shinsou was able to trap him again. He ended up holding him under the whole way to the police station.

Riding in the back of another car after being shoved off a cliff was terrifying but he wouldn't let Hideo escape. He wasn't going to let this man hurt anyone else. Especially not another kid. Then came the questioning. That took a while too. Aizawa finally let them go back to the dorms once everything was clear. He could recall the guy saying he'd check in every few hours just in case.

Right now he doesn't care about anything. He wanted to sleep but his body wouldn't let him. He even took a heavy dose of medicine in hopes it would make him tired but sleep was nowhere to be found.

His ears picked up on his door opening. He didn't move an inch. He was miserable.

“Are you dying or something? Aizawa brought dinner for everyone.” He mumbled while looking Shinsou over.

“No, I just have a migraine.” He muttered before pressing harder on his face. “Thanks for the support after a long draining day babe.” He huffed out sarcastically.

Bakugou shut the door and went to sit beside him. “Sorry, it's a habit. I've been concerned about you the whole time. I just didn't know what to do when you basically stormed off to your room after everything. Figured you needed space or some shit.”

“I do but you're still allowed in.” He suddenly felt as the blond was gently trying to pull his hands away. He whined a bit but let him. He squinted up at Katsuki.

“That's probably going to make it worse. At least let me try to help, okay?” His voice came out super quiet. It was sweet.

He wasn't sure what his boyfriend could have planned to help him.

Chapter 26: Migraine

Chapter Text

The sound of Bakugou kicking off his slippers could be heard before he felt arms wrap around him. That instantly helped him relax a little. It didn't take long for Katsuki to shift a bit. Shinsou was confused until he felt a hand on the top of his head. He felt as the male started to gently rub his hair. It felt nice. It seemed like Katsuki was being careful to avoid putting too much pressure on his head.

“If it makes it worse just tell me to stop or nudge me. I won't talk much either since I'm sure it's not helping.” Unfortunately, he was right about that. Every noise felt like it was stabbing his brain. It sucked since he loved hearing Katsuki's voice.

He hummed softly in response. Katsuki seemed to understand that.

For a while they were quiet. It helped him calm down a little more. He did his best to avoid thinking of everything that just happened. Though, his brain couldn't help but flash back to falling. The feeling of it all was so scary.

“Relax. You're shaking.” Those words brought him back.

He was right. He shouldn't be so scared about it. He was literally a hero. He couldn't avoid the fact that he is also helpless though. If no one else was there then he wouldn't have made it. Without his capture weapon he really is nothing. Would anyone have noticed or cared? It was stupid question but he couldn't help thinking about it.

He felt as Katsuki stopped rubbing his head. “What's wrong?”

His tone was direct, which made him immediately look at the guy. He realized his eyes had tears building up. He was not going to cry now. That would be pathetic.

“Nothing..?”

“Yeah, right. I can see it on your face. Something is bothering you.” He pressed.

Shinsou looked down at his sheets. “Why do you always have to ask me the hard questions?” He mumbled while turning back to cover his face again. “I guess..the crash just sort of spooked me.”

Bakugou fell quiet. He seemed to think about it for a good minute. “It's normal to feel that way, you know.” He moved to rub Shinsou's back. “You literally could've fallen to your death. Don't feel like you can't be afraid of what happened.”

Shinsou kept his eyes closed tight. He was not going to have some stupid breakdown. Especially not right now.

“I won't push you into talking more about this but calm down at least. You're safe here. Hideo won't be back.” As Bakugou talked he felt Jellybean jump up onto the bed. He was glad to have them both here.

“Thanks.” Was his simple response. It was all he could really manage. He uncovered his face and sort of hugged himself instead. His head hurt so much.

They fell silent for quite a while. He finally managed to get the courage to speak up again about twenty minutes later.

I'm so broken.” It came out soft. He wasn't even sure if he meant to say it out loud.

Bakugou had stopped rubbing his back a bit ago. He was pretty sure the blond was half asleep. He felt bad for even saying a word.

“You are not broken or useless.” Came an immediate response.

“I didn't mention the useless part.”

“Yeah, I know. You are thinking it though.”

Unfortunately, he was right. He totally was. “No matter. I'm still falling apart.”

He felt as though Katsuki seemed to get lost in thought again.

“Did your fathers ever try to get you into therapy?” Shinsou could tell he was hesitant with his words.

“I did. It didn't really help me though. I've never had a good one.” He sighed sadly.

“No judgment. They aren't always everything people make them to be.” He wasn't surprised that Katsuki also seemed to try therapy. Though, he was probably forced into it.

Shinsou found himself turning to face the blond after those words. He reached out and stroked Katsuki's arm gently. “For this..?”

Bakugou tensed up a lot. He made a small noise of acknowledgement. “This isn't about me though. I'm trying to help you idiot.”

Shinsou huffed before poking Katsuki. “I know but I can still be concerned for you. A relationship goes both ways.” He leaned back slightly, looking away. “I don't really know what's left for me to do. I've just accepted that I won't eat like most people do.”

Bakugou glared at him. “I'm not letting that happen. I'll find a way to help. Like I said before I'll do whatever I need to help. You're going to eat and enjoy food again. That freak can't control you forever.”

“I hope you're right..”

I'm always right.”

Shinsou chuckled softly at that. “Shut up and rub my head smartass. It's still pounding.”

Bakugou didn't complain.

It was a good way to end the night.

Shinsou hunkered down in the kitchen. He was currently drinking out of a coffee pot. He promised (sort of) that he wouldn't do this anymore to Bakugou. It was hard to stop though. His body practically ran on the caffeine. He couldn't function otherwise. He was hiding, figuring that the guy wouldn't look in here. It's not like he was known to eat.

They just finished their training about an hour ago. Classes would start very soon so he had to be quick.

He got about halfway done with it when he heard loud footsteps. He fumbled with the pot and nearly dropped it. Oh no. That's definitely Katsuki.

He immediately went and hid under the table like some little child. Maybe he wouldn't notice him? As if he wasn't too tall to be hiding here. He's done for.

Katsuki came in grumbling. He was a bit surprised to see the male in a tank top. It showed off his muscles, which was nice but..also some pretty recent scars. He really needed to talk to Katsuki about how he was feeling at some point.

He held his coffee pot close as he watched the blond. Katsuki wandered over to one of the empty cabinets and opened it. That immediately confused him. What was he doing? It didn't help as the male jumped and reached for something that wasn't there.

He waited and observed as Katsuki got a lot more angry.

Wait.

He stole a pack of rainbow marshmallows from there before. Shit, those were Katsuki's?!

He was really going to die. How was he supposed to sneak out of here now.

Chapter 27: Distractions

Chapter Text

Shinsou found himself waiting very patiently. The blond was actually annoyed enough that he stomped out of the kitchen. He simply watched, not making any moves yet. Who knows..he might turn back around.

Once the coast seemed clear he stood back up. He needed to get rid of his coffee pot. Obviously, he decided to finish drinking it all before doing so. He would definitely need it today.

It didn't take him long to wash it out and put it away. No evidence. He then turned around and walked out of the kitchen. He bumped straight into Izuku.

Ouch- Sorry!” He exclaimed while gathering himself.

Izuku chuckled slightly. “It's okay. I wasn't paying any attention. I would ask what you're doing up early but I know you better than that. You sleeping would be like discovering an ancient artifact.”

Shinsou smiled while rubbing his neck. “I just came to get coffee. I've been training with Katsuki pretty much every morning.”

“Yeah, I sort of already knew. Most of us do. Kirishima told us a few weeks ago. He's been happy to see you both bonding. Also, Katsuki?” Izuku questioned him.

Shit.

“Um, sort of slipped up I guess? A lot of stuff has happened. My brains just scrambled.” That was halfway truthful. Hideo was still stressing him out. Technically.

The green haired male nodded at that. “Well, you know I'm always around if you want to talk.”

His gaze fell onto Izuku. He couldn't help but analyze him. He looked a little better ever since Eri came over. Still, he wasn't quite himself. That concerned him. “I'm just going to ask- how are you feeling?” He sort of deflected Izuku’s statement but he was actually worried about him.

Izuku paused as he was asked. “Honestly, not great. I'm sure you've picked up on it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I don't even know if I can still be a hero with everything going on.” He explained while gesturing to himself. Shinsou understood what he meant.

“If you want to work on your embers then I'm sure we could train together.” He offered.

He wasn't surprised as Izuku declined it. “Nah, it's okay. I'm still trying to figure everything else out first. Don't worry about me. I'm fine right now. Really.”

Was that the truth? Izuku literally got a head injury a few days ago. The guy needed some serious help.

Apparently, he was quiet for too long. He felt Izuku tap his forehead. “Now, you didn't ever respond to what I said before. Want to talk?”

Did he want to? Not really..but he should.

Do I have to?” He found himself pouting.

“I mean, it's up to you? I would like to know what's been going on though. You look rough.”

“Fine, fine. You remember Hideo?” He asked, knowing it hasn't been long since he talked with Izuku about his past.

“Well, this can't be good.”

Shinsou nodded in response to that. “He made a whole scene of stalking me. It ended up with me, Bakugou, and Aizawa getting pushed off a cliff in the car. I'm still a bit shaken from the feeling.”

Izuku's eyes widened at that. “I would be too. Are you alright aside from that? Any hidden injuries?”

He shook his head no. “Bakugou grabbed me and he blasted us out. Aizawa had his binding cloth. Luckily, it was okay.”

He watched as the green haired male struggled to speak. It looked like he wanted to say something. “Hitoshi-”

“What? Just spit it out, Izuku.”

“Well, I've been noticing this for a few days but..have you been eating anything? You seem to always have something going on and miss dinner.”

He didn't expect that question.

No. Why would he ask that?

“What kind of question is that? I have been. I'll usually just eat a bunch at lunch. I hate eating late.” He felt bad for lying but he didn't want anyone to know. Unfortunately, he wasn't sure how much Izuku would actually believe him.

Before Izuku could speak again he cut him off. “Oh, crap! I forgot my classwork in my room for today! Sorry but I gotta go.” He explained before quickly getting himself out of the situation.

He had his back turned so he wasn't able to see Izuku's expression. Honestly, he wouldn't be able to face it right now. This wasn't good. Someone else besides Katsuki was noticing his habit.

He sat in class thinking of Izuku's question. Ugh. He hasn't eaten for some time now. Aside from the coffee, that wasn't really food. Shouldn't he feel super hungry? Where was that feeling at?

He tried his best to distract himself as his classmates started to flood the classroom. His eyes soon fell onto Katsuki. The male still looked pretty moody. He reached out and tapped his desk gently. Luckily, they never did move their desks back after that group assignment they had a while ago.

It took a minute for Katsuki to actually look in his direction. Whoa, he actually looked a lot worse than earlier. Katsuki had a serious look on his face, yet he seemed distracted.

Are you okay..what's going on?’ He signed out, hoping he would get a response.

Actually, thinking back, Katsuki wasn't very into the training session today. He used his quirk to brainwash the male but Bakugou didn't even fight it. Instead, it seemed like he wanted to be under. Why is he only remembering this now? What a horrible boyfriend he is. He should've noticed something was off before getting here.

Just stressed.’

That was more than what he expected to get as an answer. It still wasn't very helpful. There weren't enough details about how he was feeling either. Katsuki looked stressed..but that doesn't seem to fit his face.

Come on, I know you better than that-’ He took a second to stretch out his hand before continuing to sign. ‘You look really bothered by something. If it's about those rainbow marshmallows then it's my bad. I put them in Eri’s hot chocolate. I would've told you sooner but I didn't even think about them being yours.’

Bakugou gave him a bit of a confused look for a second. ‘What..no? Though, I'm curious when you caught me looking for them since I know you don't ever go into the kitchen.’

Shinsou shrunk away a bit. ‘Uh- about that-’

Bakugou just rolled his eyes. ‘I saw you under the table. You're a huge idiot. I don't think anyone could've missed you.

Shinsou blinked in surprise. He hit Katsuki in the shoulder before raising his hands again. ‘Why didn't you say anything then?!’

You deserved to look stupid for drinking that coffee pot. I'll be punishing you later for that.’ He watched a small smirk reach the blond's lips.

Oh god. Maybe he should drink a few more pots.

He shook his head. No, something was still wrong. He couldn't get distracted now.

Seriously though, is something wrong?’

Bakugou's smirk immediately disappeared. He probably didn't think Shinsou would ask again. Too bad. He's concerned.

He was worried as the guy looked away. His stomach dropped as the blond pulled up one of his sleeves a bit. He hesitated before looking down. Guilt immediately flew through. Even if it wasn't his doing. “Katsuki..”

The guy pulled it back down before he could say another more. “It's fine. Just another stupid relapse. I don't know what caused it.” He muttered out.

Shinsou no longer cared that they were in class. He took a hold of Katsuki's hand for a moment. “You can always talk to me, you know? I have issues but so do you. Your problems matter to babe.” He mumbled before letting go.

The male didn't seem too bothered by the contact. “I know. I'm not good with words though.” Bakugou grumbled while looking down at his notes.

Shinsou took a minute to think. “Then just tap me or something. Anything that can get my attention. You know I'm happy to come talk to you anytime.”

Bakugou nodded slowly. “Yeah, whatever. I'm still focused on helping you.”

Shinsou chuckled even though it felt empty. “I'm pretty sure we both need help.” He mumbled under his breath.

Chapter 28: Dirt Isn't Tasty

Chapter Text

Shinsou grumbled to himself as he felt a presence right behind him. Izuku..of course. The guy must be worried about him now. He didn't like that. He kept his eyes forward as everyone was walking to the training course.

Today was going to be exhausting.

He sighed as everyone was chatting away. He sort of stayed against the wall. He didn't feel like socializing. Not that it was anything new. It didn't seem like Katsuki felt any different. They weren't next to each other but pretty close. Soon enough everyone stopped talking, which caught his attention.

“Alright, listen up. You will be paired against one of your classmates. It'll be simple one on one battles today.” Aizawa explained briefly while looking over all of his hyper children.

Shinsou flashed back to a bit earlier. Aizawa did tell him he could sit this one out. He knew his father could tell he was still struggling with Hideo on his mind. The man can't keep control of his thoughts forever. Maybe training will help him feel a bit better. Besides, his dad was only so nice. He wouldn't keep getting free passes.

His eyes closed as Aizawa began to list everyone's opponents. He tensed a bit. If he gets Izuku then it might be all over. The male is already trying to get a read on him. He suspects Aizawa won't be nice enough to pair him with Katsuki.

“-Shinsou and Iida.”

That's not who he expected at all. His eyes opened in surprise. Man, Iida is no joke. This is good though. Someone who isn't aware of his situation.

It took a while for each pair to spar. Everyone was seriously strong. Kirishima sent Kaminari flying off the field. Jirou tricked Mina into sliding herself off the course. Sero got caught in Todoroki's ice (again). He couldn't form any words as he witnessed the battles. Really, it all looked ridiculous but they were strong. Others beside him were cheering though.

Soon enough he was called. He stepped onto the field. His eyes gazed to Iida who was on the other side.

“Let us have a good fight, Shinsou!” Exclaimed Iida.

Shinsou couldn't help the small smile that escaped him. Despite not really being close with Iida..the male he was kind. He was slowly being dragged down by everyone into friendship. He'll never admit it out loud.

“Of course.”

With that the battle was on.

He immediately slid to the right as Iida came at him full charge. This was going to be incredibly difficult for him to find an opening. Iida moved to tackle him down. Luckily, he's gotten strong from Katsuki beating him half to death in the morning. He held himself up.

Pretty strong, right?” He stated, knowing Iida probably wouldn't answer.

Unfortunately, he was right.

Shinsou made a move to punch him in the stomach. Iida didn't see it coming, so he wasn't able to dodge it. It helped that they weren't wearing their hero uniforms for this instant. He didn't have any amor to worry about.

Why so quiet? I'm sure there's something you want to say.” He said while getting a few more hits in before Iida escaped. The male moved before pushing him down from behind.

Shinsou grunted as he hit the ground. It took him an extra second than normal to get back up. His body was losing energy. He didn't think about this part. Sitting out might've been a smarter idea but it was too late for that now. Iida came at him again and he wasn't able to dodge.

Being thrown on the ground again was absolutely irritating. It made him flash to Hideo. How the male had complete control when knocking them off the cliff. Something sort of flashed through his head.

A lot of anger.

Iida seemed to pause for a moment, making sure he was still able to fight. The male then moved to prepare to run again. He was probably going to come in with a kick or something.

Shinsou's body moved before he could think. He quickly pulled himself up and jumped onto Iida's back before he could lunge away.

That was enough to catch Iida off guard. “What in the world are you doing!?” His plan faltered as he tried to pull Shinsou off him.

He was tall enough to lower himself down and wrap his arms around Iida’s chest. He pulled back and slammed Iida right into the ground. It was the same type of move that Izuku did back to him during the sports festival in first year.

Iida took a good moment to stand back up. “That was pretty good, Shinsou. I want to see everything you got.” He panted out. There was pure determination in his eyes.

Shinsou could feel the exhaustion climbing into his body. There's no way he's going to win this.

Within the next minute they were tumbling around in the dirt, fighting.

By the time they finished he could hardly move. Iida won. He was a lot less angry now that he sort of took it out on his classmate. It wasn't anything too serious though.

He laid on the ground, trying to find the will to get up as Aizawa ended the match. Iida had thrown him onto the ground hard enough that he couldn't get back up to keep sparring.

It seems like the training at the gym helped him get stronger. If it had been a few months before then he wouldn't have even been able to jump at Iida like that. It was good to see some type of progress.

Iida soon came into his vision. “Did I hurt you? I'm a bit concerned as you are still laying on the ground.”

“Oh, I'm fine. Just tired.”

That was a bit of a lie. Now that he thought about it. The whole world felt like it was spinning. His vision was blurry too. God, what a mess he is.

It took him a moment to see Iida's outstretched hand. He took it and pulled himself up. “Thanks.” He grounded himself and hoped it wasn't too obvious to the other male.

“That was a great match! I hope to face you again! You've certainly gotten a lot stronger. If you ever need help with training then feel free to ask.” Iida smiled before letting him go.

He sort of nodded as Iida then said his goodbye before wandering off. Another match was going on behind him. How long had he been on the ground?

He shifted slightly and looked behind him to the other training field. Of course, far up in the sky was Katsuki aiming right down at Izuku. No surprise that they would be paired together.

He turned away and walked off the course towards everyone else. It was a struggle for his legs to work. His stomach ached as he moved.

For a moment his view was on all of his classmates watching the battle ahead. Then his body suddenly collapsed onto the ground. His face met the dirt as everything started to fade to black.

Just a warning that SH is definitely brought up in this chapter. Be aware before reading. As always thanks to anyone who is still reading my fic this far!

Chapter Text

For a moment everything was peaceful. He opened his eyes to find himself laying on a grassy field. He turned his head to see Katsuki laying beside him. Though the blond was turned away.

That's really weird?

“Katsuki?” He found himself mumbling out.

No response.

Did he not hear him?

Shinsou tilted his head in confusion. He felt as the wind blew his hair back. “Are you okay?” He reached out to tap the male softly.

Suddenly, Katsuki turned to face him and smacked his hand away harshly. “Don't touch me!"

What?

Bakugou glared deeply at him. “Fix yourself. I'm not going to stick around some slob who can't keep himself together.”

A noise of surprise escaped from him. “What are you talking about? Where is this coming from?!”

Bakugou stood up and put his hands into his pocket. “You heard me. You're getting worse. If you starve out then eventually you'll drop dead. No one will come to find you!”

After those words left Bakugou's lips he walked away.

What?! Wait!” He stood and ran, reaching out to stop the blond.

No! Things couldn't end like this!

He abruptly awoke to someone grabbing him. His head slammed right into something hard, causing him to fall back.

Shinsou gripped at his head in agony before slowly processing things. He was in a bed. That much was easy to feel since he sunk into it from the fall. So, was all of that just a dream?

“Katsuki Bakugou! Headbutting an injured student isn't how you wake them up! Have I taught you nothing?” A voice angrily spoke out.

“What?! He isn't waking up and it's been like two damn hours! I'm starting to think he's in a coma-!” There was suddenly a noise of someone being strangled.

Finally, his body started to listen to him. He squinted open his eyes slightly to see two blurry figures. He was able to put together Aizawa and Katsuki. He blinked to clear his vision. Now, he could see his dad was using his binding cloth to torture Katsuki.

Ugh, he felt absolutely horrible.

His eyes didn't even want to stay open. What was going on? It was freaking him out that he couldn't remember anything.

His attention fell onto Recovery Girl as she was suddenly in his face. “You better be more careful from now on young man!”

He jumped slightly from the sudden accusation out of nowhere.

Huh?

The woman paused before seeming to understand he didn't exactly know what had happened. She held out a glass of water. “You passed out on the training field Hitoshi. Your classmates are really worried about you. Especially those two.” She gestured over to Aizawa and Bakugou who were still fighting.

He glanced back over to them before focusing on her. “Oh.” He mumbled stupidly before Iida flashed through his mind. Right. That's how this happened.

“You overworked yourself and are severely dehydrated.” She said a few more things but he kind of spaced out. That's when he noticed an IV was in his arm.

“Kid, you better listen to what she's saying. It's important.”

Aizawa's voice echoed through the room causing him to realize he was indeed not paying attention. He rubbed at his face slightly to try and keep himself focused.

Of course, his dad would stop fighting when she lists his symptoms. It's a miracle how much the male pays attention. That or maybe he was just done lecturing Bakugou.

A hand was placed on his shoulder. He blinked before looking up to see Bakugou. “Quit zoning out like some weirdo and pay attention.” The blond muttered, making it clear it was only for him to hear.

Shinsou's gaze shifted from his boyfriend to Recovery Girl again. “Sorry, I'm just trying to wake up.”

She didn't seem annoyed, which was good but it quickly turned into a look of concern. “You are currently receiving parenteral nutrition through your IV. Hitoshi, you need to eat more. Your body collapsed because of the lack of food you've been giving it. If you keep this up then things will be a lot worse."

His shoulders completely tensed up. He didn't like hearing any of that. Especially not with both Aizawa and Katsuki around. Sure, they know he's been skipping meals but how many really? He was certain that his dad didn't know he skipped lunch completely.

He kept his eyes down on the bed sheet. There's no way he could look up to either of them.

“Please take my words to heart Hitoshi. Try to do what you can.” She placed a candy near his arm then moved to walk away, likely sensing that Aizawa wanted to talk to him.

This sheet had a lot of creases. He started to count them to try and calm down. It wasn't working so far.

A small sigh broke the silence. “Hitoshi..I know you don't want to talk about this but we need to."

You're right. I really don't want to. Like at all, so let's not.” He snarled before moving to sort of wrap his arms around himself as best as he could in this situation.

He suddenly felt as Bakugou let go of his shoulder. Maybe the male felt how tense he was? He sort of forgot Bakugou was still touching him. He blinked in confusion as the blond turned away.

Wait, this was like his dream! He was going to leave him and never come back!

Shinsou found himself lifting his arm to try to reach out to Katsuki.

He couldn't leave. He needed him. Especially right now.

Bakugou faced his teacher and rolled up his sleeves, which immediately made him freeze. His scars were now visible. The sun came through the window shining right onto them.

I have a problem and need help. Please lend me some bandages.” Katsuki said casually but Shinsou could see how his body was shaking.

Witnessing Katsuki like this was almost unbelievable. The blond always went on about weakness being the dumbest thing anyone could show. Obviously, this wasn't weakness but the male probably thought of it like that. Bakugou definitely had baggage of his own. So, why was he doing all this?

It took his brain a good minute to think of the answer. Katsuki was doing this for him.

Shinsou was completely shocked. He didn't expect Bakugou to suddenly expose himself. His body loosened a little as he processed all of this. His boyfriend was trying to help by helping himself. That's all he's wanted. It's not like they've been together for a long time but Katsuki trusted him enough to put himself out like this. That was pretty damn admirable and well- hot. Not that this was the time.

Bakugou turned his head slightly to glance back at Shinsou. “Trama is no joke. Being vulnerable is scary as shit. If you don't bring yourself out of the dark then you'll never get stronger. I'm tired of doing this to myself.” His voice came out more confident as he spoke. “Be strong and start attempting to pick up your scattered pieces. Only you can do that but there will be people you find along the way to help.”

Those words were the complete opposite of his dream. Wow, when did Katsuki actually like him this much? Maybe he hit his head as he went down. He could feel tears prick at his eyelids. He didn't expect to get dragged into something so emotional today.

Bakugou didn't say anything else before leaving with Recovery Girl. Aizawa was silent as he stood across from him. Shinsou knew the male wouldn't say a word until he said something first.

“Fuck!” He shouted before holding his head.

Aizawa reached out to rub his head. “I'm sorry. I didn't realize Bakugou had his own issues going on. I failed as his teacher. I will be talking to him later but you're first. I'm sorry for trying to push you before. It was irrational but I'm just super worried about you Toshi. As Bakugou said, you have to make the first move. So let me ask again, would you like to talk about today?”

He slowly lifted his head to look back up at Aizawa. He huffed out before allowing a pathetic chuckle to escape him. “How can I say no after watching Katsuki in all his glory?”

“You don't have too-”

“I know. I need to do something.” Shinsou found himself rubbing the back of his neck nervously. “I don't even know where to start Dad..”

He glanced back to the door where his boyfriend slipped out with Recovery Girl. This was going to be a long rest of the day for both of them.
