Work Text:

joe can't keep his eyes off the older man. he doesn't quite get why he's so interested in andy tonight, though he guesses it's something to do with his outfit.

they had been invited to a party by gabe, and pete being pete, accepted for all of them immediately. parties aren't usually an issue for joe, sure he doesn't love them, but theres worse things he could be wasting time on.

earlier that week andy had found had found a purple dress he'd worn as a gag ages ago. he tried it on and flaunted around a bit, causing pete to giggle his ass off, which would earn him a smack from patrick. joes unsure as to what exactly the smack was for; whether it be for petes volume or a comment about how boys can wear dresses too, it didn't matter. all that mattered to joe in that moment was andy. he looked.. beautiful. of course he had noticed the other mans figure in the past, how his waist thinned and his hips flared— he had thought about it a lot, honestly. he's never looked too deep into it, it's probably normal to think about your friends body, even if you're both guys. his long hair really wasn't helping either. a few stray strands had fallen out of his obviously rushed ponytail; somehow framing his face perfectly. he truly looked like a girl she was the prettiest girl joe had ever seen.

flashforward to now, andy's wearing that stupid dress only now with the addition of shitty makeup— fucking pete. it had been his idea for andy wear it to the party and for some strange reason andy had agreed. hell, he even agreed to let pete do his makeup, which wasn't good by any means but it was definitely making joes stomach twist, confused as to how a bit of lipstick and mascara has nearly flipped his whole world around. he had also decided to throw on a jacket over the dress due to the cooler weather, which had ended up falling off his shoulders at some point in the night. joe thinks it shouldn't be as attractive as it is.

joe forces himself to stay away from him most of the night, spending most of his time slowly sipping a drink in some corner. he would've hung out with patrick but he had lost track of him nearly two hours ago, and pete is notorious for disappearing at parties like this. he didn't mind too much. people watching has never done him wrong.

he watches couples walk by, holding hands and giggling, hands wrapped around waists, lips connected to necks. his mind wanders to andy each time; andy in that stupid purple dress. he shakes his head a little, deciding to wander outside.

he lets an unlit cigarette hang lazily from his mouth, rummaging through his pockets in search of a lighter. just as his hand touches it he hears an all too familiar voice.

"hi joey." andys smile was small and soft.

joe whips his head to the side. when the hell had andy snuck up beside him.

"hi." his voice doesn't sound as small as he feels, a win in his mind. suddenly his face feels hot and he's hyper aware of just how tipsy he really is, making sure his gaze strays far away from andy.

andy snatches the cigarette out of his mouth and sets it aside.

"whatcha doing out here?" he scoots a bit closer to where joes sat, their legs nearly touching.

"just- getting some fresh air, was.. stuffy in there." his voice shaky, he felt the heat building up in his face. god, he felt like a teenager again.

the older man hums a bit, idly drawing shapes onto joe's thigh. joe spares him a glance, just a quick glance he hopes— they make eye contact and his stomach flutters.

"you're so fucking pretty." he blurts out not really thinking, quickly trying to save himself by stuttering out "i mean- you'd be- you'd make- make a pretty girl."

andy stares at him wide eyed, his cheeks slowly turning a light pink, he giggles a bit.

"really? ...you really think so?" his voice is quiet— almost secretive. he tucks a few strands of hair behind his ear.

"y-yeah. i do, you're already kinda there, man." his voice squeaky and hushed, he awkwardly giggles, obviously embarrassed. "you've got the body and- and the hair. honestly with a bit more makeup you'd totally pass as a chick. i mean— i'd kiss you."

andy leans in closer, hot breath ghosting over joe's skin.

"you wanna prove it?"

joe could tell the alcohol was catching up to him now. slowly, he brings a hand towards andy's waist. andy shoves himself closer, awkwardly scrambling into joe's lap, skirt restricting most movement. he wraps his arms around the younger boys neck; fingers inching their way up his scalp joe brings both hands around andy's waist, obviously more confident in the action. he swipes his thumb across the cheap fabric of the dress.

"you look so good in this- really, i've been thinking about you all night." leaning in closer, he can feel the man's breath on his nose.

andy gently grips at joe's roots, bringing his face closer, and closer, until their lips are gently touching. joe deepens the kiss, gripping his waist a bit tighter he forces his way into andy's mouth. he quietly groans against the youngers mouth, sending shockwaves down his spine.

they continue kissing for what feels like hours before joe's forced to pull away for air. before either can say anything they hear pete's voice call for them from inside.

andy quickly pushes himself off joe's lap, wiping at his lips before rushing inside.

joe pretends he isnt upset about that detail as he's slowly shuffling his way towards the door.

if joe has lipstick marks nobody brings it any attention, not even andy, whose eyes kept lingering on him during the drive home. he wonders if that kiss will be a secret forever. if so he figures fighting a hard-on while kissing andy should stay one too.

he stares out the window, he's sure he'll never see that dress again— that girl again. but tonight, tonight will live on forever in his mind,

the night he had kissed the prettiest girl he'd ever seen.

he drifts to sleep, hoping that maybe she'll come back to him someday.
