Chapter 1: Dream
Chapter Text
The dark times have arrived for planet Earth. There is no salvation, no mana left on the planet. Humanity has reached the limits of mana on this planet, using it for wars, for their own power, for their own control, to rule everything. They are such foolish creatures, driven by their own desires that led them to their end.
The world, once beautiful, full of green forests and blue oceans, is now covered in the scars of explosions and war. Blood stains the ground where trees, jungles, forests, and mountains once stood. The once vibrant blue ocean is now a murky red, covered with corpses. The sky, once bright blue, is now a dull gray. But still, there is some sunlight, and as they say, there is still hope.
Humanity has come to an end, to its extinction. Yet, two figures stand on a massive boat, even larger than the highest tower. That boat, crafted from wood, emanates a sense of the “Divine.” One of the figures then spoke:
“Tell me, friend, what else do you carry in this magical vessel of yours?”
“Well, friend, in my ship there are not only thousands of lives of every animal and species… but also hope and a bright future.”
“Is that so? I see. It sounds like there is still a future left for this planet. By the way, Noah, what will you do with that… last essence of humanity?”
“I will use it to remake a new human order, and you, my friend, will be the one to take care of it.”
“What?! Are you crazy?! That is not what Allaya ordered us to—”
“It’s my duty as [Grand Rider] to bring this hope and life to its destination, no matter what. Even if it means risking my own life, I will do it.”
“……Tch.”
“Ahahahaha! Come on, old friend, don’t make that face. You know we servants have our own roles in this world. I have mine, and you have yours. Now, will you promise me to take care of them?”
“Hm… Is there even a choice for me here? Heh, fine! I will take care of them no matter what.”
“Here, have some of the greatest wine of my era.”
“Thanks, for the future.”
“For the future.”
As Noah and his companion, whose name remained unspoken, continued their journey across the desolate, blood-red ocean, a faint shimmer appeared on the horizon. It was barely perceptible against the oppressive gray sky, but Noah, with his heightened senses as a Grand Rider, immediately noticed it. His companion, however, remained oblivious, still grumbling about Allaya’s supposed orders.
“What is it, Noah? Another one of your grand visions?” the companion sneered, taking another swig from the ancient wine. “Don’t tell me you’re seeing rainbows now. The world’s ended, remember?”
Noah ignored the jibe, his gaze fixed on the distant anomaly. “No, something is there. Something… alive.”
The shimmer grew, resolving into a small, battered lifeboat, adrift in the vast expanse. As they drew closer, a figure became visible, huddled and seemingly unconscious. It was a young woman, her clothes tattered, her face smudged with grime, but undeniably human. Noah’s companion gasped, nearly dropping his wine.
“A human? How is that possible? We were told we had the last essence of humanity on board!” he exclaimed, his voice laced with a mixture of shock and anger. “This… this changes everything!”
Noah, however, felt a surge of something akin to hope. He ordered the boat to slow, and with a gentle hand, he helped the young woman aboard. She was frail, barely clinging to life, but her eyes, when they fluttered open, held a spark of defiance. She was a survivor, a testament to humanity’s enduring spirit, even in its darkest hour.
“Who… who are you?” she whispered, her voice hoarse.
“I am Noah,” he replied, his voice soft but firm. “And you, young one, are a miracle.”
His companion, however, was not so welcoming. “A miracle? Or a complication? Allaya’s plan was clear, Noah. No deviations. This… this is a deviation of the highest order!”
“Allaya’s plan was to preserve humanity,” Noah countered, his eyes meeting his companion’s. “And this woman is humanity. We cannot abandon her.”
The tension between the two figures was palpable, a silent battle of wills playing out on the deck of the divine boat. The young woman, caught in the middle, could only watch, her fate hanging in the balance. The journey, it seemed, had just become far more complicated. Even in this confusing and complicated situation, the young woman didn’t know what was happening, nor did she remember her name.
But then Noah spoke, “Just look at this, this is a miracle sent by God.”
He reached out his hand to the young woman and asked her, “Now, may I know your name, my miracle girl…?”
The young woman reached out her hand to Noah and was about to say her name, but then…
BEEP… BEEP… BEEP!!
The sound of the alarm clock rang. It was 7:10 AM.
“Haaahhh??? It’s 7 already??”
“Yo, dude, wake up! We need to get ready; we have math class this morning.”
The young boy woke up, his face still dizzy as ever. He reached out to the alarm to turn it off and headed to the bathroom. He looked into the mirror. The young boy was tall; he had a tail; his fur was gray and creamy white over his body, and his face was that of a wolf’s head—not human, but rather a beast or animal in humanoid form. They had bodies like humans but the head of an animal and a tail.
“Hey, Legoshi, did you see my tie? I remember I put it here somewhere.”
“Huh, no, did you ask Abby??”
Then Abby chimed in, “Huh, Carole, you left your tie on the desk.”
“Oh, thanks, man!”
The young wolf, as he got ready, and his roommates prepared for school, their uniforms ready for their day. In one dorm room, there must be at least four roommates, but it depends on their species. This is Ucracia Academic, a high school campus that is a mix of many species of herbivores and carnivores. In this era, the world they live in is the year 20XX, where the world is dominated by humanoid animals, or beasts, or those who refer to themselves as animals, including (land creatures) and (sea creatures), divided between herbivores and carnivores.
Thane and his roommates—Abby the sheepdog, Carole the golden retriever, and the last one, Adrian the Georgia dog—were eating their breakfast on the carnivore cafeteria side. They had only egg rolls or protein bars, as in this world, the law was made for herbivore safety, forbidding carnivores from eating meat to maintain peace for each side. But deep down, they knew this was only a one-sided profit for the herbivore side. And for the carnivores? They could only eat what was left, or even fake meat that had no protein or good things in it.
As they were all eating their breakfast, there was urgent news from that morning in school. A brown anteater, a second-year student, rushed into the cafeteria.
“GUYS, GUYS, BAD NEWS! THERE IS A DEAD BODY ON THE SCIENCE CLASS ON THE SECOND FLOOR!!”
“What?!” “How can it be?” “Who is that person?”
The whispers of the students started to fill the cafeteria.
“Damn, dude, early in the morning.”
“I wonder who died, and I hope his meat tasted good.” “Carole!! This shit is serious!”
“Calm down there, Legoshi, we are in the cafeteria. If you say it out that loud, people will think you’re the one who did it.”
“Ah, sorry…”
“Yeah, Adrian’s right, dude. You are a wolf; other beasts know that your species is dangerous and uncontrollable.”
After Abby’s words, Legoshi didn’t answer him but looked down at his plate. In his mind, he didn’t care much about what was happening around him, but he was more focused on one thing, or rather, one dream.
(Last night, I had such a weird dream… what was that all about? N-no… Noah? What a weird name. I don’t know why, but I feel so sad. What were even those creatures on that big boat? Man, what a weird dream. I better think of something else, maybe about class—)
DOUNG - DOUNG - DOUNG
“Attention all students of Ucracia! Today, all classes from first year to third are canceled due to an issue at the school. Please stay in your dorm room after 12:00. Your teachers will send you work through your mail, and we will check your dorms at 5 PM. Have a nice day.”
The cafeteria fell silent, then some students started to return to their dorms slowly.
But for Legoshi , somehow, he was not well about this, even uncomfortable with the situation.
“Come on, Legoshi , we need to go.”
“Hell yeah! I will play FGA all day! Gacha, gacha!”
“Hell yeah!” Both: “GACHA, GACHA, GACHA!”
“Yeah, coming!… Why do I feel so uneasy like this…?”
In the sterile, hushed confines of the Ucracia Academic Medical Wing, a golden retriever named Jack lay on a pristine white bed. His fur, usually a vibrant cascade of gold, seemed duller under the fluorescent lights, his once-sparkling eyes now clouded with a persistent ache. Jack was afflicted with a rare muscular dystrophy, a cruel twist of fate that rendered his powerful limbs almost useless.
Any significant movement sent searing pain through his body, threatening to tear his muscles apart.
He was, in essence, a prisoner in his own magnificent form.
Through the window, he watched the world outside: students laughing, running, their legs moving with effortless grace. A group of feline students chased a ball, their lithe bodies twisting and turning in mid-air. A pack of wolves, Thane among them, jogged past, their powerful legs eating up the ground. Jack’s heart ached with a longing so profound it felt like another physical ailment. He saw them, free and unburdened, and a bitter jealousy coiled in his gut. Why them? Why not him?
“Look at them, Nurse Lily,”
he rasped, his voice a low, mournful whine, barely audible above the soft hum of his life-support machine. Lily, a kind-faced deer with gentle eyes, adjusted his IV drip.
“They run, they jump, they go wherever they please. While I… I lie here, stuck. A golden statue, “
“waiting for… what?”
Lily stroked his head, her touch soft and comforting.
“Oh, Jack. Don’t talk like that. You’re strong. You’re fighting this.”
“Fighting what? A death sentence?”
he retorted, a rare flash of anger in his eyes.
“My only wish, Lily, my only burning desire, is to run. To feel the wind in my fur, the earth beneath my paws, to stretch these useless legs and just go. To run on two legs, like them, without a care in the world if my muscles decide to betray me. I want to be cured. I want to be free.”
His words, heavy with yearning, echoed in the quiet room. He closed his eyes, picturing himself sprinting across an open field, his bipedal form strong and unyielding, leaving his illness far behind. The image was so vivid, so potent, it felt almost real. He didn’t know that such intense desire, such a pure, unadulterated wish, was a beacon in the unseen realms, attracting something. Something that was about to change his life forever, for better or for worse. A faint, almost imperceptible tremor ran through the hospital room, a silent acknowledgment of a wish heard, a destiny stirred.
In the darkest corner of an abandoned building, where shadows clung like a second skin and the air hung heavy with the scent of decay, resided Rokusho. She was a snake, her scales a shimmering, obsidian black, her eyes like twin rubies in the gloom.
Unlike the humanoid forms that dominated the world, Rokusho, like all of her species and the fish, was born without arms or legs. Her existence was a perpetual slide through the forgotten spaces, a slithering shadow in a world built for upright beings. Her kind, though born into what many considered a miserable existence, were not forgotten by the gods. In exchange for their lack of limbs, the snake species possessed immense strength, far surpassing that of a bear, and their bodies grew with age, some reaching an astonishing five meters in length.
Rokusho herself was a formidable specimen, her coiled form easily spanning several feet, her sheer size a testament to her years. This immense size, however, was a curse as much as a blessing. She could not show herself in public, for her appearance alone would incite terror among the herbivores and even the carnivores.
She was a creature of the shadows, confined to the forgotten places, her heart a cauldron of simmering resentment. She hated them all – the two-legged, the four-legged, the winged – all of them with their hands to grasp, their feet to walk, their forms that allowed them to exist openly in the world. She looked at her own magnificent, yet restrictive, body and felt nothing but a burning injustice. She had nothing, while they had everything.
“Why?” she hissed into the oppressive silence, her voice a low, guttural rumble that vibrated through the crumbling concrete.
“Why do they get to walk? To run? To live? While I am condemned to this… this crawling existence? I wish them all to burn! To die! To feel the same pain, the same endless frustration of having no feet, no legs, only this body that binds me!”
Her hatred, raw and potent, fueled a desire so intense it began to manifest. At that very moment, a searing red light erupted from her head, burning through her scales, twisting and reforming into an intricate, fiery tattoo.
A scream of agony tore from her throat, echoing through the desolate building as the air around her began to churn. A vortex of wind, born of pure, untamed power, swirled violently, ripping at the decaying walls.
From the heart of this tempest, pure light energy coalesced, rapidly taking on a humanoid form, ethereal and radiant. Then, it spoke, its voice resonating with such authority,
“Servant Assassin, here is your service.”
(Assassin):
“Oho…? Fufufu~ What a strange summoning. You’ve called me from the abyss of tales again, have you? …Ah, this vessel… Assassin-class, hmm. How fitting for someone like me who toys with prey in silence.”
Rokusho couldn’t move, her gaze locked on the female in front of her—so strange, so small, so tiny. But her body had no scales or fur; it was furless, with pure white, smooth skin. Then Assassin spoke again.
(Assassin):
“Well, well~ Aren’t you a peculiar one? No arms to hold me, no legs to stand tall… only scales and fangs. How deliciously ironic. A snake as my Master! Fufufu~ I like it. A creature that lurks, waits, and strikes without warning… you and I might get along splendidly.”
She leans down, eyes glowing with mischief, her voice dripping like poison.
Shuten Dōji (Assassin):
“Assassin Shuten Dōji. Tell me, Master-serpent, shall I coil around your prey, or shall we squeeze the life from them together? Just whisper, and I will drink their screams like sake.”
Rokusho was too terrified to talk.
Her gaze shifted to the world outside the room. Through the cracks in the building, she saw shadows moving—but not humans. Tall figures with animal heads, muzzles, horns, feathers, fur. Humanoid beasts walking like people.
Shuten Dōji:
“…Ara? What is this…? Where are the humans? Where are the cities, the shrines, the palaces of Heian? Instead… all I see are animals, standing upright like men.”
She steps outside, her bare feet touching the ground of this world, her smirk fading into something darker—curiosity mixed with hunger.
Shuten Dōji (Assassin):
“Fufufu~ How curious… A world of beasts that mimic humanity. I can’t sense the Heian capital… not even the faint stink of mankind. Did my world vanish while I drank and laughed? Or has some trick pulled me into this strange carnival?”
She looks back at her snake Master, her eyes glimmering with excitement and sadism.
Shuten Dōji (Assassin):
“Ah… but perhaps this is better. Humans bore me at times. These animals… these ‘beast-men’… I wonder how sweet their blood tastes. Shall we, Master, paint this world in our own colors? Hehehe… Fufufu~!”
Then, finally, Rokusho spoke.
“Wh… what are you?! Who are you?! What on earth are you?! What do you want from me?!”
Her mind was full of questions to ask.
“Hmm, to answer your questions, Master:
1.I am an Oni, a Heroic Spirit summoned by your call from your deepest, darkest, and most psychopathic desires.
2.All I want is to slaughter, to drink blood and sake, and to make your desires come true, because I love how you want it… fufufufu.”
“What do you mean by that, and don’t misunderstand me, I am not your Master!”
“Ohra? Oh, come on, don’t you see the Command Spell on your hand? That’s the proof you chose to be my Master, and besides, I see no one else here but you, so I think you get what I mean… Also, another thing… you think I didn’t hear your deepest desires? Your hate, jealousy, revenge, and lust for slaughter? You want it, don’t you, Master? You want them to be like you? You want them to feel the same pain you have, don’t you? That’s why I answered your call, fufufu.”
“How did you know? Don’t tell me you really came from my desire…”
“Fu… fufufufu, ahahahahaahahaha! That’s correct, 100/100, Master! Now, shall we go, Master? I want to drink something already; I’m getting thirsty, hehehe.”

Chapter 4: Master and servant
Summary:
This chapter will be the explain what is servant and thier gaol
Chapter Text
After the arrival of the Fae Knight Gawain, who saved Jack from the attack of the demonic beasts.
“So? Are you my Master?” Gawain asked Jack again, seeking confirmation.
“Wha—No, please, that’s not important now! Please save Miss Lily first!”
“Do you mean the woman lying there?”
“Yes! Please!” Upon hearing her Master’s command, Gawain moved swiftly towards Lily. She knelt beside her, assessing Lily’s critical condition. With a gentle touch, she placed one hand over Lily’s injury, and a soft, green light emanated from her limb, enveloping the wound. The light pulsed, and the injury began to mend.
Turning back to Jack, Gawain reported, “As per your command, Master, the woman’s condition is stable now. However, had we arrived a moment later, she might not have survived. Worry not, I used healing magic on her. Though I am not proficient in such spells, I did my best.”
Confusion and fear still gripped Jack. The situation was utterly chaotic, leaving him completely disoriented. He took a moment to compose himself, taking a deep breath before addressing the woman before him.
“Who are you? And what are you? Why did you save me…?”
“I shall repeat myself: Fae Knight Gawain, Saber! And you are my Master, and I am your Servant. I have answered your call to protect someone, and to fulfill another’s wish to save you. The Command Spell on your right hand is proof of our contract.”
Jack suddenly felt a searing heat emanate from his right hand.
“OUCH! What the—Since when?!”
Gawain glanced at the male beast with a hint of displeasure before beginning to lament her fortune.
“Really, how did I end up with such a weak Master? Look at you, you can’t even stand by yourself.” She eyed his wheelchair with disdain. “Don’t tell me, Master, you use that pathetic thing to move around?”
'
“Huh, yes… and stop calling me Master! I’m not your Master, but first, what even are you?!”
“Wait, don’t tell me you summoned me, and you don’t know what we are? How can the mages of this era be so ignorant and lacking in knowledge?”
“Did you just say ‘mage’? I am no mage! I’m literally sick and dying here!”
“And now, do you feel anything?”
Jack paused for a moment, then realized he felt no pain when he moved. It felt as if the pain had never existed, yet he still couldn’t walk or stand without Gawain’s help.
“How is it possible?!”
“It is a blessing from me. I possess a passive ability that can heal myself and my Master in the short term.”
“Does that mean I can walk again?! Thank you!!!”
Excitement and happiness surged through him, his metaphorical tail wagging uncontrollably. Suddenly, he hugged Gawain without realizing it.
Similarly, Gawain, without realizing it, let her guard down to the
little golden retriever. Her face flushed, turning red like a ripe cherry.
“Whoa… Master?!”
“Ah, sorry! Is something wrong, Gawain-san? Are you okay? Your face looks so red. Is something wrong?”
The lights flickered back on as the hospital’s main electricity returned. With the illumination, Jack could now fully see Gawain’s form and her true face. It was a strange feeling—a beautiful woman he had never seen before. What an unusual species she was! But his enjoyment of Gawain’s beauty was short-lived. He glanced around and saw the chaotic mess near the corpses of two demonic beasts. The disgusting sight and the sheer disarray made him recoil. Gawain looked at him with understanding, knowing this was not something he was accustomed to seeing every day. But before she could say anything else, she heard a group of people approaching.
She quickly pulled her Master and Lily’s body together, creating a small, makeshift shelter for them to hide. “Stay here,” she instructed her Master.
“And what about you, Gawain-san? What should I do?”
She smiled reassuringly and told him, “Just lie still, Master.”
The moment the group of doctors and security guards arrived, they were met with a gruesome scene: a messy walkway stained with blood and two dead demonic beasts nearby.
“Who could have done this?!”
“What are these things? These… creatures…”
Then they heard heavy, metallic footsteps, followed by Gawain, now wearing a mask. She stood there, imposing and majestic, her body appearing twice as large as any beast around, instilling fear in every creature nearby. But Gawain did nothing to them. Instead, her hand pointed in the direction where Lily and her Master were hidden. Before their eyes, her body turned transparent, then shimmered gold, and vanished.
The rest of the group was shocked by what they had witnessed. After the figure disappeared, they followed the direction she had indicated and found Jack holding Lily in his arms.
“There are injured people here! It’s Nurse Lily and her patient, Jack, from Room 808!”
The next morning, news reporters spread word of the hospital incident. First, they reported on the erroneous shutdown of the hospital’s main electricity. But that was quickly overshadowed by the second, more sensational incident: a mysterious creature attack. Luckily, the victims were saved, though one had sustained critical injuries. They did not reveal the identities of the victims, but quoted those involved:
“Someone saved us!”
“It was very big, with white armor!”
“It disappeared like a ghost!”
The news reporters stated that the true identity of the savior remained unknown and that investigations would continue.
In Room 808, where Jack was being treated, he sat alone on his bed. Miss Lily was being treated in another room, leaving him in solitude. He gazed at his hand, where the Command Spell was now clearly marked.
“What should I do with this?”
“That thing… it’s called a [Command Spell].”
Suddenly, Gawain’s voice appeared out of nowhere.
“Woah! Gawain-san, is that you? Where are you?”
“I am next to you all the time, Master.”
Gawain’s body slowly materialized before Jack. For Jack, this was something entirely new, and he was amazed by the real magic unfolding before him. But right now, he had questions that needed answers.
“May I ask you something, if it’s not rude?”
“Yes, ask me, Master.”
“What are you?”
Gawain looked deeply serious, explaining that whether he believed her or not was up to him.
“We are what are called Heroic Spirits—reincarnations of historical figures, myths, or legends. We answer the call of a mage to become their Sevant and fight in the Holy Grail War against six other Masters and Servants.”
“And what is the Holy Grail War?”
“To help you understand, the Grail War is a conflict where seven mages, seven Masters, summon their Servants to fight each other to obtain the Holy Grail. And it is no ordinary grail; this Grail can grant any wish you desire, no matter how good or bad, or how selfish it may be. As for Servants, there are seven main classes: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. But sometimes there are extra classes, like Ruler or Avenger. I myself am a Saber, so please remember that.”
Jack looked at her with excitement and awe.
“That sounds awesome! Does that mean we can wish for anything?!”
“Yes.”
“But remind yourself that this war means you may need to kill someone to grant that wish. And that Command Spell can only be used three times. It is an absolute command. Once it’s gone, it’s gone, and our contract is finished.”
But Jack didn’t care about that part. As long as he could get his wish, he could say goodbye to his ailing body. He looked into the sky and imagined how he would regain his beloved body, becoming normal again. Perhaps then he could finally go out with others, even with his little brother. He had high hopes for it.
Back in Ucracia, in the directors’ class, the group of teachers and directors were re-discussing the school’s situation, compounded by the news they had received that morning about the hospital incident.
“We should prioritize student safety! I demand that we separate classes between carnivores and herbivores!”
“I agree with that idea. The carnivore students can’t even control themselves!”
“I disagree with that! There’s no proof that everything is because of carnivores. You have no right to judge them!”
“YES! Why blame carnivores? We didn’t do anything!”
The arguments between the two sides—carnivores and herbivores—were strong and furious. But the headmaster and school directors remained absolute.
“Due to the situation, we cannot decide yet. But for now, both sides must be very careful. We will implement an earlier school curfew. Dismissed.”
Back with the students, in the cafeteria, the news about the hospital incident instilled absolute fear in every student, especially the herbivores. Some students began to debate that it was a ‘carnivore thing,’ leading some herbivores who already disliked carnivores to group up and ostracize them. Of course, the carnivore side did not let this happen without protest, as they themselves disagreed with what had occurred.
The morning for Akaru was chill, and he walked to the cafeteria. The moment he entered, he saw the cafeteria hall separated into two distinct groups: herbivores and carnivores. Akaru felt very annoyed by the situation between the two species. He asked someone nearby what was happening, and they explained it was due to the news that morning about the hospital incident. Akaru couldn’t care less. He walked through the middle of the two groups as if it were nothing.
Both carnivores and herbivores stared at him, confused by his actions. Then Akaru picked up a tray and went to the herbivore section to order herbivore food. He then did the same with the carnivore food. After getting two orders, he went to an empty table and began to eat his food. He started with the herbivore food, then the carnivore food.
“Hmm, herbivore food tastes so good! Those veggies are delicious, and the protein tofu is good too.” Then he mixed the two foods together. “But if I mix the two foods together, it tastes even better!”
He looked back at them, as if sending a message that there was no point in this fight or debate. Most of the beasts looked at him with annoyance and left the cafeteria, but some stayed and followed Akaru’s example, seemingly wanting peace from both sides.
After morning cafeteria, Akaru continued his day as normal until later, when he looked at his hand and found the letter given by Isabella to join the club. He had no choice but to accept. But for the whole hour afterward, he was lost in the school, as Riz hadn’t shown him yet.
But luckily, Hashi found him.
“Hey, isn’t that our new friend? What are you doing here?”
“Ah, hi, Hashi! Well, I’ve been looking for the drama club, and I can’t find it.”
“Ah, I see. Let me guide you. I’m about to go to mine too; it’s on the same way.”
“Thanks, Hashi! That helps a lot!”
On the hallway of the campus, leading to the open space, they walked past many types of students, either herbivore or carnivore. But each time they walked past groups of tigers, they looked at Hashi and called him “[bar-code]”—a mocking term used by other tigers for those with white furs. This kind of discrimination was something Akaru hated, but Hashi seemed not to care about it.
“Don’t you feel angry about it?”
“About what? That they call me a barcode?”
“Yes!!”
“Nah, I don’t really care. I’m used to it.”
“Not me. I don’t like people calling my friend names like that. Such bad behavior.”
“Hahahahahah, thank you for caring about me, but don’t need to worry. Whatever you say won’t change people’s minds. Only action will speak to them.”
“You’re too nice to them…”
They arrived at their destination: the drama club. Hashi knocked on the door before entering with Akaru.
“Hello, drama club members! I’m here to bring you the new member. He was lost in the hallway.”
Then the club president arrived with his assistant, louise and Isabella.
“Thank you very much, Hashi-kun.”
“Nah, my pleasure. I have to go now. Bye.”
“Thanks, Hashi.”
“See ya, Akaru.”
After Hashi left, in the big room, there were Louise and Isabella, and also other members who were practicing in the background.
“Hey, Akaru-kun, happy you joined!”
“So, you are Akaru, yes?”
“Nice to meet you.”
“Same for us here. Please follow me. I have heard your school history from your old school; it impressed me very much.”
“Oh, you read those? Yeah, it’s not much, but I don’t really act in anything. But at that time, they just needed someone, so I just signed up for fun.”
“Well, we will see about that,” Isabella added.
Then they all gathered together in the middle of the room.
“Attention, everyone! Here we have a new member joining us today. Please go ahead.”
“Hello, everyone. Akaru, the Bangkaew dog. Nice to meet you all. From now on, I will join the club. Please take care.”
In the room, there were also Riz and Legoshi. They were surprised to see Akaru invited to the club by the club president himself. Then Louise explained to him what they were planning for the Méteo Festival in spring that was coming.
“So, Akaru-kun, tell me, are you good at acting or good at anything about production?”
“Well, I am kind of a multi-tasker, you know.”
“Ah, I see. How about I give you some tasks, and you show me what you can do?”
“Sure.”
The first thing Louise asked Akaru to do was read scripts and try to understand the story situation. The room smelled faintly of stage paint and old costumes. Louise stood near the desk with a few scripts stacked, while Akaru sat nervously with one in his paws.
“(calm, but sharp) Alright, Akaru. Let’s see what you’ve got. Page three—the forest scene. Just read it naturally, no need to overdo it.”
“(nodding) Got it, President.”
(He clears his throat, then begins reading—voice steady, calm but expressive.)
“Even if the night hides the truth, I’ll find…”
He pauses, looking slightly unsure.
“Hm. Not bad. You didn’t just read it… you felt it.”
“I just… tried to imagine being there. I didn’t mean to sound all dramatic or anything.”
“(smirks) You call that not dramatic? You’ve got instincts, I’ll give you that. Most new members sound like they’re reading a grocery list.”
“Guess my voice just comes out that way.”
“Keep saying that and the others will think you’re humble. Keep acting like that and they’ll realize you’re dangerous.”
“Dangerous? I’m just reading lines.”
“That’s the point, Akaru. When someone can move people without even trying—that’s when they’re worth watching.”
There’s a short silence before Louise straightens up, handing him the next page.
“Alright, ‘humble actor.’ Let’s see if that talent’s consistent. Scene two—when the truth comes out.”
Akaru takes a breath, the corner of his mouth twitching with a quiet smile.
“Alright then, President. Let’s see if I can keep being ‘dangerous.’”
After that, he was sent to help Legishi with the light setup. He wasn’t doing badly either. After that, he went to help the sound setting team. He was with Riz and other sound equipment members, so he tried to help as much as he could.
After a long afternoon of helping everyone in the club, Louise still couldn’t decide where he should place Akaru or in what section.
That evening, after finishing their club rehearsal, in the male changing room, there were Riz, legoshi, and also other club members like Bill the tiger, Aoba the sea eagle, Tao the black panther, and Pina the Dall sheep.
They were all talking about Akaru, who had just joined the club.
“Hey, Akaru, right? I’m Bill. Nice to meet ya! You’re doing pretty well; you learn fast, man.”
“Yeah, it’s very impressive, by the way. Aoba.”
“And I’m Tao.”
“Haha, thanks, guys! It’s not that special.”
“Well, what a surprise, Akaru! I didn’t know you would join the club. Legoshi and I are very surprised.”
“Oh, Riz, well, me either. I didn’t even think to join, but I thought, ‘Why not try it?’”
“Oh, please… you carnivores are noisy. Can you be quiet? The handsome guy of the club is here, you know? I need personal space and don’t want to share with the muddy, smelly ones like you all.”
“Oh, please, handsome?! Aren’t you overconfident? After Tem left, you act like you’re the best actor here.”
“What can I say? Carnivores aren’t handsome and pretty like us herbivores.”
Bill and the other carnivores in the room made faces that clearly showed their dislike for Pina and his attitude. After Pina left, Bill turned back to everyone again.
“Well, anyway, forget about that bitch. Let’s go hang out tonight to welcome you, Akaru!”
“Well, that’s not a bad idea, though.”
“Yes, it’s been some time now since last year.”
Akaru smiled and accepted their invitation for a night out, but Legoshi seemed to suspect something about Akaru’s body language.
(So weird, he seems to be happy, but he only shows it on his face, like facial emotion, but his tail barely moves. But when I met him, I never saw him move his ears nor his tail.)
30 minutes later, Bill, Aoba, Tao, Riz, Legoshi, and Akaru grouped up in front of the school gate and walked to the train station nearby to enter the main city.
At first, it seemed like they were just going to a café or a fast-food restaurant, but the real deal was when Bill led them into a small, dark corner. Slowly, every carnivore began to smell something…
Akaru’s senses were immediately on high alert. He had heard whispers of this place, a hidden world where the deepest taboos of their society were indulged. The smell of cooked meat, a forbidden delicacy, hung heavy in the air, mingling with the scent of fear and excitement.
“Here we are, guys, paradise! So, shall we eat?” Bill announced, a wide grin spreading across his face.
Everyone was in shock. This was the very thing most of them tried to avoid, something illegal: eating meat. In their world and society, consuming meat was forbidden, a rule established to maintain the coexistence of both species.
“Bill, you know doing this is wrong, right? We shouldn’t be here,” Riz stated, his voice laced with concern.
“Oh, come on, don’t be a pussycat now! This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to try real meat!” Bill retorted, trying to egg them on.
“I’m not sure, man. It sounds pretty bad to me,” Aoba said, clearly uncomfortable with the situation.
Legoshi looked visibly uneasy, as did Riz. But when they glanced at Akaru, he seemed unfazed. They all looked at Akaru, hoping the new guy would offer some decisive opinion.
“Why are you all looking at me?” Akaru asked, a hint of amusement in his tone.
“We’ll let you decide,” Bill said, a smirking grin playing on his lips.
“From my point of view, eating meat is illegal, and it’s not something we’re supposed to do. But as long as we’re not the ones who killed the animal, I’m fine with consuming it.”
Akaru’s answer was so confusing; they weren’t sure if it was a ‘yes’ or a ‘no.’
“So? Is it bad or good here?” Riz asked, trying to clarify.
“Well, that’s up to all of you, not me. I’m no parent here, hehe,” Akaru replied with a light chuckle.
After finishing his words, he started to walk off into the market without waiting for the others.
Riz and Legoshi shouted after Akaru, “H-HEY, WAIT!”
The group separated into two: Bill, Aoba, and Tao, and Akaru, Riz, and Legoshi. They all walked around the market, wandering. Some felt genuinely uncomfortable, but the smell of fresh meat—a mix of fried, soup, grilled, and various other preparations—was sweet and dangerous. It drove their instincts wild.
(EAT IT! EAT IT! EAT THAT FRESH MEAT! I KNOW YOU WANT IT! I KNOW YOU WANT TO TRY IT ALL!)
The young carnivores had a hard time controlling their instincts until they met another group, or rather, someone Legoshi really wished not to see.
“Just look what we have here, guys. The little hybrid boy is here!”
It was none other than Caesar, the black wolf himself, and his group of friends, also present in this black market.
“Caesar…”
“You know him?” Akaru asked Legoshi.
“Yeah, he is my… no, was my childhood friend.”
“Childhood friend? Ugh! Me, to be friends with a half-lizard and a wolf? Disgusting! I’d rather die than be your little friend!”
“Come on, guys, let’s get out of here!” Riz urged Legoshi and Akaru to leave the place.
“Sorry, big guy, but you’re surrounded here!”
Within a minute, they were all surrounded by Caesar’s pack of wolves.
“Hmm, well, fuck, we’re surrounded,” Akaru said, his tone suggesting he had anticipated this outcome.
Caesar’s group was about to engage Legoshi ’s group when suddenly, the nearby lights all shut down, followed by the sound of animals groaning.
“Caesar, I don’t know what you’re planning, but this is too far, man!”
“Shut up, hybrid! I didn’t do any of this! Don’t you dare blame me!”
Then the lights slowly returned, but around them, there was one figure, no, two, maybe even more figures standing nearby. And they were none other than demonic beasts.
“Chimera… how…” Akaru let the word escape his lips, almost unconsciously, his voice so faint that no one could hear it.
Then everyone panicked and started to run in different directions. But for the demonic beasts, this was a game of hunting prey for their master.
Legoshi got separated from Riz and Akaru. He was pushed into an open space where a multitude of demonic beasts surrounded him.
On the other side, Caesar and his friends were hiding from the demonic beasts inside an old building. But they didn’t know they were now in a trap the demonic beasts had prepared. One by one, they were slowly killed in the dark room until Caesar was alone, having lost all his friends. He was scared, but he wouldn’t give up on living. He prepared to fight until his last moment, even knowing he would eventually die.
On Legoshi’s side, he was trying to survive by running and doing whatever he could to protect himself. Unfortunately, he was attacked; a demonic sharp claw tore into his arm, and he fell to the ground.
It was a critical moment of death for both Caesar and Legoshi. But then, hope appeared before them.
A bright light shone in front of Caesar. A small lady stood before him, wearing blue armor, with long silver hair and a horn. Her eyes, ash-yellow, were sharp like a predator’s.
“Yawwwww… ah, seriously, Master, is this my first mission? Isn’t that too easy for me?”
“What are you?”
“Shhhhhhuuuuuu, let me introduce myself, Master. Fae Knight Lancelot, Lancer, at your service, ehe!”
[Legoshi’s Side]
The sound of footsteps approached. The demonic beast paused, looking in the direction of the sound’s origin.
“HAA!! GO FORWARD, HOUSHOUKIGEH HA!!” “Slay those enemies! Bring death to them!!”
Her lance cut through the demonic beast as easily as slicing a piece of paper.
“Sorry for the delay, Master! Lancer, true name Nagao Kagetora, will now be your sword through this war!!”
Chapter 5: poem an poison
Summary:
Hi everyone! I’m back with a new chapter. If you’re confused about where “Thane” and “Dash” went, let me explain — starting from this chapter, Thane will now be Legoshi, and Dash will be Louis. I’ve also gone back and corrected their names in the previous chapters to make everything consistent.
You might be wondering why. Originally, I wanted to try using new names instead of Legoshi and Louis, but after some thought, I realized the original names fit the story much better.
Thank you so much to everyone who’s been reading this (somewhat messy) story and sticking with me!
Chapter Text
Chapter 5:
SaviourThe woman, whose name was Nagao Kagetora, materialized abruptly before Legoshi and addressed him as "Master."
She possessed striking white hair mixed with strands of black, reminiscent of a white tiger's fiery coat. Mounted atop a warhorse, she wielded a long spear.
"My apologies for my late arrival, Master. You may leave the rest to me!"
she declared, her voice ringing with absolute confidence.
"Who ar—" Legoshi began, bewildered.
"Ask me that question later. This is not the time,"
she interrupted, her gaze fixed on the surrounding danger.
"I need to clear a path and bring you out of here first.
"With her spear flashing in her hand, she systematically eliminated the demonic beasts, carving a safe escape route. She then swiftly pulled her Master onto the horse's back and fled the area.
"Let's go, Houshoukigeh!" she commanded the warhorse.
"Ah? Where are we going?? Let me down! Wait, is this a horse?? Why does he look like that??!"
Legoshi exclaimed, his mind reeling from the sudden chaos.Kagetora glanced back, a flicker of confusion crossing her face.
"What are you talking about, Master? Isn't a horse supposed to look like this?"
"What? No! I mean, they're supposed to have two legs and..."
"And? It doesn't matter now, Master, let us just go,"
she said, cutting him off with a firm tone.
"HA! Move faster, Houshoukigeh!"
On the other side of the city, Akaru and Riz, who had also barely escaped the demonic beasts, regrouped with Aoba, Bill, and Tao. The black market, once a hidden hub, was now under siege, the demonic infestation spreading like wildfire into the city proper.
"Riz! Akaru! Thank goodness you're okay, but where is Legoshi?" Bill asked, his voice strained with worry.
"I don't know. We split up during the attack. I lost his trail," Riz admitted, his shoulders slumping in frustration.
"Bill, we have to look for him," Aoba urged.
But how? None of them could locate him. The air was thick with the stench of blood and a strange, noxious odor from the beasts, overwhelming their sense of smell. Their common sense was shattered, and with all communication signals down, they couldn't even call him.
Suddenly, the noise of a pack of demonic beasts finding them echoed nearby, and they prepared to strike. Just as the creatures lunged, a brilliant, white-blue beam of light instantly incinerated them. The person who appeared was none other than the Fea Knight Lancelot. She spoke with a voice that carried authority and power.
"Hear me, citizens of the city! Under my Master's command, I am here to evacuate all people and save you from THIS demonic scourge! Now, GO!!!"
The group stared at her for a few moments, captivated by her beauty.
Bill, in particular, was mesmerized. He thought she was stunningly attractive, and the thought slipped out of his mouth before he could stop it.
"Damn, she's hot," he muttered under his breath.
For the others, this was no time for jokes. Aoba quickly pulled Bill away, even as the tiger continued to stare up at the figure floating in the sky.
But for Akaru, the situation felt fundamentally wrong, too fantastical to be real.
A word slipped out of his mouth, loud enough for Lancelot to hear, drawing her attention to the young dog just before Riz hoisted Akaru onto his shoulder to leave.
"Servant? Heroic Spirit...? Impossible..."
"Huh... did that boy just say..." Lancelot turned her head in Akaru's direction, a look of intrigue replacing her stern expression.
"Interesting. That information is unknown even to my Master, yet somehow, there are still people who know of it."
After processing the unexpected information, she instantly vanished to attend to other areas.
Back with Legoshi and his Servant, they had fled faster than anyone else thanks to Kagetora's warhorse.
They stopped abruptly in front of the academy, as if the horse knew exactly where to go.
After they dismounted, the horse slowly dissolved into golden particles.
"Here we are, Master. The safest place I could bring you," Kagetora stated, gesturing to the familiar building.
"How did you know?" Legoshi asked, crossing his arms.
"Let's just say I have been following your life for a while."
"What are you? A stalker?" Legoshi shot back, his voice laced with suspicion.
"Rude! I am a Heroic Spirit from the past!" she retorted, placing a hand on her hip.
"Okay, so what do you want from me?"
Kagetora didn't answer immediately. A slow, radiant smile spread across her face as she looked at Legoshi, finally articulating her desire to her Master.
"Well, not much. All I want is simple: I wish for you to win this Holy Grail War together. After that, you can wish for all you want, and all I want is just to unite all of Japan back together."
"Sorry to cut you off, but what is Japan?"
"It is the land of my homeland, where I was born, where the beautiful sunrise began. But sadly, in this era, it is gone... SO!"
"Huh?!?!" Legoshi was completely lost.
"So, I wish to use that Grail to recreate Japan once more. And what about you, Master?"Legoshi's confusion was evident in his furrowed brow.
"That doesn't matter now! What about the others? Will they be safe? They are still in the main city!"
"Worry not, Master. In that city, there are more than two Servants, including me. That makes three," Kagetora reassured him.
"What?"
Before they could continue their conversation, Bill, Aoba, Tao, Riz, and Akaru arrived at the front of the academy, looking utterly exhausted and covered in grime from escaping the demonic beasts.
"Legoshi! You're already here?" Aoba felt a wave of relief wash over him upon seeing his friend safe.
"How did you get here? You know we were so worried about you," Tao added, rushing forward.
Legoshi was unsure how to explain the situation but tried to tell them that someone had saved him and brought him here.
"Well, how do I put this... this lady with white hair, she helped me get here."
But the moment he turned to point, Kagetora had already vanished. The others, however, assumed he meant the beautiful woman with white hair who had saved them from the market."
Oh, I see, man. You, too, were saved by that beautiful lady," Bill said, grinning."
Huh? Hey, yeah!" Legoshi quickly agreed, seizing the convenient explanation.
Then Riz added, "Guys, we should go back in. We smell like blood and we stink out here."
They all sniffed their bodies and wholeheartedly agreed with Riz. Even though so many extraordinary things had happened that night, they would try to keep it a secret. Legoshi, however, still questioned where Kagetora had gone.
In an empty classroom, the air felt cold. Louis was there to pick up some forgotten belongings—a rare lapse for the usually meticulous school president. He retrieved the book he had left behind. For some reason, he felt compelled to open it to a page that contained no study notes, but only a poem he had once written. He didn't know why he had written it, but he read it aloud.
My Poem by Louis
I am a deer. I walk proud.
People look, I stand tall.
But sometimes, I feel small.
Like I don't know Who I am at all.Still,
I try. Every day.
Because if I stop, I fade away.
"Damn, this poem sucks. Why did I even write that crap?" he muttered, his face twisting in self-disgust.
"Tch... it sounds childish. What was I thinking..."
A sudden breeze stirred the room. A blue light bloomed in the air, and a summoning circle formed. A woman in elegant Heian robes, a fan held gracefully in her hand, appeared.
"Oh my, what do we have here? A proud stag writing poetry? How utterly adorable,"
she said, fanning herself lightly with a smile.
"W—Who are you?!" Louis stammered, stepping back.T
he lady tilted her head, calm and composed.
"Archer, Sei Shōnagon, at your service—connoisseur of elegance, wordplay, and all things beautiful. And you, dear Master, have just written something... truly noobish, as you'd say."
She let out a soft, melodic chuckle.Louis frowned, his face burning with embarrassment.
"I know. It's terrible."
"Terrible? No, no. It's not that bad... and, well, it matters not. It's just fine for a beginner, not to be offended. Even the crudest verse shines if it's honest."
She paused, looking at him gently.
"You wrote it, and that's all that matters. That's real poetry, YO!"
"...You think so— did you just say 'yo'?" Louis asked, his confusion momentarily overriding his embarrassment.
She smiled softly, closing her fan.
"Now listen. Even a beginner's poem, when written with sincerity, can move heaven and heart. Now... shall we refine it together?"
The candlelight flickered, and Louis looked at her, unsure if he was being mocked or mentored.
He decided to voice a more pressing concern.
"Okay, if it's not too rude, may I ask you something, Miss Sei Shi... Shōnagon?"
"Yo, name's Sei Shōnagon—queen of ink and grace,
Words so sharp, they cut through space.
Old-school flair with a modern beat,
Poems or flames—I bring the heat,"
she rhymed with a playful wink.
"Okay...?" Louis replied, still bewildered.
"Just call me Archer..."
"Okay, Archer, what are you?"
"Didn't I just tell you?"
"Yes, but I mean, what is your species?"
"Huh? You've never seen a human?"
"What even is that?"
Suddenly, she stopped, her eyes narrowing as she sensed a nearby surge of mana.
"Hmm, Master, it seems you and I will have to answer that question later. We should go somewhere else first—somewhere safe."
"What do you mean—"
Before Louis could finish his word, the sweet, cloying smell of sake, like a paralyzing poison, made him fall asleep.
"Ahhh, a pain in the ass. My Master ordered me to put everyone in this school to sleep in order to save them. Don't worry, little Archer, I won't do any harm to you or your Master."
Sei looked at the person who had appeared, instantly recognizing her as an Assassin-class Servant.
"Hmm, damn, from what I see here, you've got a horny smell of sake and poison, good at hiding in the shadows. What a 'rizz' you are, I'd say... You are the Oni Assassin-class, Shuten Dōji!"
"Oya? Ahahaha, very well, you guessed my name! Nice to meet you, little Archer! Now that you know my name, I won't let you live any longer," Shuten Dōji purred, her eyes gleaming with malice.
"Ay, YO!? I thought you said no fighting!" Sei exclaimed, quickly hoisting her unconscious Master onto her shoulder and turning to run.
"The plan has been changed, darling!"
Shuten Dōji called out.In the school hallway, luckily, no one was left, so Archer and Assassin could run around freely. Sei Shōnagon was surprisingly adept at running, dodging Shuten Dōji's attacks even with Louis on her back. But the chase came to an abrupt end when they arrived at a small, dead-end room.
They locked eyes, both knowing that in the end, they would have to fight. Sei Shōnagon prepared herself for combat, but then the nearby wall shattered, and a woman with a spear in her hand appeared. It was none other than Lancer-class Nagao Kagetora.
"Ah! I heard fighting sounds while I was sending my Master to safety," Kagetora announced, her spear held ready.
"Wow, my gosh, three Servants in the same place! What luck!"
Shuten Dōji chirped, clearly amused.
"Hmm, a long lance as your main weapon... then you must be Lancer," Shuten Dōji observed
."Hmm... And you must be a bitch," Kagetora retorted, her voice flat and devoid of emotion.
"Dammmnnnn, YOOO! The white-haired girl is so sigma, yooo!" Sei Shōnagon shouted, momentarily forgetting the danger.
"Ah, how rude of you! Be careful with your words," Shuten Dōji warned, a dangerous edge to her voice.
"It's Japanese, my friend," Kagetora said, ignoring the threat.
"Anyway, I ask both of you to stop fighting here. There are so many innocent people here, and my Master is included. So, if you don't want to die, then leave."
"Okay, look here, white 'sigma,' I don't want to fight here, but that Oni wants to kill me first. If you are willing to kill her, I'd be more than happy to help, though," Sei Shōnagon offered.
"Fine by me, though killing an Oni is not going to be that hard," Kagetora agreed, her spear pointed at Shuten Dōji.
"Tch! Two on one? Fine, I will let you go this time, but next time, I will kill you," Shuten Dōji hissed before vanishing into the shadows.
After Shuten Dōji left, only Sei Shōnagon and Kagetora remained.
"You, too, my friend. You should leave and bring your Master to rest. The night is still young," Kagetora advised. Then, she turned and left.
"Well, look like it's only us now, deer boy," Sei Shōnagon sighed, looking down at the unconscious Louis.
The next morning, Legoshi woke up in his dorm bed alongside his roommate, who was already awake for morning class. Legoshi was still confused; he didn't remember how he got back to his dorm.
The last thing he recalled was meeting up with the others in front of the gate, about to go to the dorm, and then suddenly losing consciousness.
He had woken up in his bed, as if the hellish night in the black market had never happened. The memory of the previous night made him feel instantly nauseous.
"Yo, Legoshi, you okay?" one of his roommates asked with concern.
Legoshi didn't answer but managed a weak smile.
He went to the cafeteria, hoping the fresh orange juice would help settle his stomach. But the moment he arrived, the news of the previous night's incident was already spreading on the cafeteria TV.
The images of dead people, killed by the demonic beasts, flashed in his mind. He forced himself to the nearest toilet and vomited.
As he finished, a gentle hand touched his back.
"There, there, my Master. You weren't supposed to see those things. You are not made for that," a familiar voice soothed him.It was none other than Kagetora, now wearing a school girl's uniform.
But her appearance was dramatically different from the night before. Her body had transformed into that of a female tiger, strikingly beautiful. However, her fur was not the usual orange and black or yellow, but a shade that resembled a white tiger like Hashi, yet opposite: a black base with white highlights, instead of white with black stripes.
"Miss Kagetora, is that you?" Legoshi asked, bewildered by the transformation.
"It is me, Master. Kagetora Nagao."
"But you look different from last night."
"Oh, you mean this appearance? Well, it seems I have a gift that allows me to blend into this world."
"Blend in, you say? But it's really eye-catching," Legoshi pointed out, looking at her unique coat.
"You think so, Master? But I kind of like it," she said, admiring her beautiful fur before turning back to her Master.
"Now, shall we eat some breakfast? You will need it."
On their way back to the cafeteria hall, everyone who walked past them stopped and stared at Kagetora. Her strange, unique appearance—a tiger with black fur and white highlights—was completely new and drew all the attention. They became the center of a silent, intense crowd.
"Huh... Miss Kagetora..." Legoshi began, feeling the pressure of the stares.
"Just call me Kagetora. So, what is it, Master?"
"Okay, then stop calling me Master, too. Just Legoshi."
"Worry not, my dear Legoshi. They are all staring at me, not you. Some of their eyes are full of desire, and others are jealousy. But they cannot do anything to you or me."
Soon after, they arrived at the cafeteria, where they met Riz, Akaru, and Hashi, who were waiting for him. Riz did not look well; the cruel and terrifying experience of the night before had clearly shaken him more than any true beast or carnivore they had ever encountered. But Akaru, the Bangkaew, seemed perfectly fine, as if he felt nothing at all.
Then, Hashi spotted Legoshi.
"Hey, Legoshi!"
"Hey, Hashi, and morning to you too, Riz, Akaru."
"Hey," Riz mumbled, still looking troubled.
"Morning, Legoshi-kun," Akaru replied cheerfully.
"Huh, dude, who is that beautiful lady next to you?" Hashi asked, his eyes wide.
"Ah, huh, she's, huh..." Legoshi struggled to find the words.
"Nice to meet you all. Kagetora Nagao," she introduced herself with a bow.
"Nagao? What a beautiful name,
" Hashi said, instantly falling for Kagetora's beauty.
"Hey, Riz... about last night," Legoshi whispered, trying to change the subject.
"I don't want to talk about it," Riz replied, his voice low. "I think I know the real reason behind Tem's murder now."
"I see... and did you see the others?"Then Akaru answered for Riz.
"They haven't come out of their room. It seems what they experienced yesterday really hurt their mental health."
"I can't blame them for that... and you? Don't you feel anything?" Legoshi asked Akaru, surprised by his composure.
"Not really. Well, if I say nothing, it would be a lie. I was really scared, too, but I'm just too good at adapting to the situation," Akaru admitted with a shrug.
"I see."
"By the way, Nagao-san here is so strange, don't you think? She has black fur instead of white like Hashi, or yellow or orange like other tigers. Where did you even find her?" Akaru pressed, his curiosity piqued.
"Huh, how to put this... I... huh... we met not long ago," Legoshi stammered, trying to keep his story straight.
"Hmm, I see. Well, look like Hashi is really into her, ehe," Akaru teased, pointing a thumb at the smitten tiger.Riz,
Akaru, and Legoshi looked back at Hashi, who was now clumsily trying to flirt with Kagetora. Then Riz turned back and asked Legoshi about the night before.
"Hey, Legoshi, can I ask you something? About last night, who saved you?" Riz asked, his expression serious.
"Well, about that, the person who saved me, she..."
"Look, man, I don't want to pressure you or anything. It's just that I'm so curious. What happened last night was terrible. We are lucky to have gotten back with no harm," Riz confessed, his worry evident.
The question was too difficult for Legoshi to answer. Last night, he had told his friend he was saved by a woman with white hair, but it seemed the person Riz was referring to was not the same person who saved him.Legoshi couldn't answer the question until Kagetora walked over and answered it herself.
"It was I who saved Legoshi from last night's disaster and chaos. What kind of Servant would let her Master die?" she stated, her voice clear and challenging.
"WAIT, WAIT, WHAT?! Nagao-chan is Legoshi's SERVANT???!!! From when did you hire a MAID?!!" Hashi, who overheard the conversation, was completely shocked.
"What? No! She's not my maid, and we are not in that kind of relationship!" Legoshi protested, his face flushed.
"THAT KIND OF RELATIONSHIP!!!???" Hashi shouted, his mind jumping to conclusions. Then Kagetora began to add to the explanation, but before she could finish, Akaru interjected to complete the explanation.
"I am Servant Lan—"
"To the point," Akaru interrupted, playing with his food.
"Servants are Heroic Spirits from the past—either historical figures or myths—summoned by a magical ritual called a contract to fulfill their duty in the war to win the Holy Grail. And that tattoo on Legoshi-kun's right hand is a Command Spell, a sign of the contract with the Servant. So that means we are all in the middle of a war... the Holy Grail War. Seven Masters and seven Servants fight to win the Grail that can grant you any wish." Akaru explained the entire concept with unnerving calm.
"Well, look like we have a REAL mage here," Kagetora added with a smirk.
"Mage? Nah, I just read it from a historical book, The Thousand Stories by Along."
Hashi then asked Kagetora if what Akaru said was true. The only answer he received was a cryptic smile from Kagetora. He looked back at Riz and Legoshi, and their faces confirmed that everything Akaru had said was the truth.Kagetora then added,
"Well, in this place, as I want to inform you all, we have three Masters and three Servants, so the fight can happen anytime in this school."
"So, what can we do?" Riz asked with worry.
"Nothing. Just try to survive, I guess. And I think we have four Masters and four Servants, to be correct," Akaru corrected.
"Who is the fourth one?" legoshiu ask.
"I saw him this morning. It's the black wolf guy. He was to hurt to us yesterday before the disaster," add Akaru
Legoshi said, instantly recognizing the person Akaru was referring to.
"Caesar..." he whispered.

er 6: The Unbeliever and the Unveiling
The five companions sat in stunned silence around the cafeteria table, the gravity of the previous night’s events hanging heavy in the air. No one touched their food, save for Akaru, who ate with a casual, almost unnerving indifference, as if the conversation were nothing more than idle chatter. Kagetora, meanwhile, wandered off, her attention captivated by the diverse array of food types the cafeteria offered. Riz, Legoshi, and Hashi remained subdued, their appetites lost to worry and disbelief.
The silence was finally broken by Hashi, who voiced his skepticism with a decisive tone.
“Look, what you’re telling me sounds completely insane,” Hashi stated, pushing his tray away. “I don’t believe in any of this nonsense—no magic, no heroic past, and certainly no monster attack last night. It was probably just an accident, and you guys have been reading too many comic books. I’m out of here. Have a nice day.”
Hashi rose abruptly and left the table, his food untouched. The others watched him go, confused and frustrated. What more proof did he need? The news reports and the visible chaos were right in front of him, yet he dismissed it all. They couldn’t comprehend his stubborn refusal to accept reality.
“Well, it sounds like it’s going to be difficult to convince him,” Akaru commented, still chewing his meal. “If I were in his shoes, I’d probably say the same thing until I faced it myself.”
Legoshi frowned, his worry evident. “I’m concerned about him. I don’t want him to encounter what we did last night.”
“Who cares?” Riz interjected, a flicker of anger in his voice, annoyed by Legoshi’s compassion. “If he won’t listen, let him be. We’ve already tried to warn him.”
Just then, Kagetora returned, her tray piled high with a staggering amount of food. Legoshi stared, wondering where she had acquired the funds for such a feast.
“Where did you get all that food?” he asked, bewildered.
“Oh, forgive me, Master,” she replied, a mischievous glint in her eye. “There were so many interesting dishes that I used your money to purchase them.”
“My what?!” Legoshi exclaimed, rapidly checking his pockets. He discovered that approximately 2,000 yen—the cost of Kagetora’s mountain of food—was missing.
“How did you get it? Hey! That 2,000 yen you spent is my entire monthly allowance!”
“Ah, my apologies, Master—ahem, I mean, Legoshi,” she corrected herself smoothly. “The cuisine of this era is fascinating, and I wished to sample everything. Regrettably, there is no meat, only tofu and vegetables.”
“Well, don’t talk about things like that so loudly here!” Legoshi hissed, glancing around nervously. “Also, didn’t you say you studied this era during your free time before meeting me?”
“That is true. I saw that herbivores and carnivores walked freely among each other. But regarding the food, I had no idea. I mean, I didn’t exactly walk out into the sunlight and greet everyone. I am a spirit, a human, remember?”
“Hmm, that makes sense… Tsk.”
Legoshi couldn’t argue with her logic; what she said was undeniably true, and it all made sense. As a being entirely different from them, she would attract unwanted attention. Still, he felt a sting of resentment over the stolen money used to buy the extravagant meal.
Akaru spoke up, cutting into their tense exchange. “There, there, my friends. We should all calm down, hehe. Whether you’re a wolf, a master, a servant, or a warlord, let’s let that slide for now, okay? Besides, breakfast time is almost over; we should get going.”
“What? Is it that late already? I should leave, guys. Hmm… Akaru, don’t you have the same class as me?” Riz asked, checking the time on his phone.
“Ah, yes, of course. Well, see you at lunch, Legoshi-kun, and you too, Nagao-san.”
“See ya, Legoshi,” Riz added.
“See you,” Legoshi replied.
Now, only Legoshi and Kagetora remained at the table. They sat in silence for a moment before Legoshi began to gather his books, preparing to head to his class.
“So, what will you do, Kagetora-san? I don’t think you have classes like the rest of us.”
“Indeed, Legoshi! Since I am currently in this beast form, much like you all, I believe I will investigate the school grounds and attempt to locate any other masters, if possible.”
“Oh, I see. Isn’t that a difficult task? It sounds very dangerous. I don’t want a fight to break out here at school.”
“Hahaha, don’t worry. They are not so foolish as to fight in the middle of the day—unless, of course, they are.”
“Okay, if you say so. I trust your word.”
“Who do you think I am, Legoshi? I am the avatar of Bishamonten! I never break my oath,” she declared, her expression one of profound, unshakeable confidence.
After Kagetora and Legoshi finished discussing their plan, they finally parted ways. On his walk to class, Legoshi noticed a group of female rabbits gathered around a single white dwarf northern rabbit. She was being aggressively bullied by the others.
“How dare you do this to all of us! You disgraceful bitch !” one of them spat.
“You dared to sleep with my boyfriend, and not just mine, but others’ too!” another shouted.
“You are truly a SLUT!”
“You make us and all other dwarf rabbits look bad!” a fourth rabbit cried. “Do you know that our species is nearly extinct? That’s why we need to keep our lineage pure! And look at you! Eating dick like it’s normal, no matter if it’s a rabbit or another herbivore, or if it’s big or small!”
“Disgusting!”
As the rabbits continued to verbally abuse her, criticizing her actions and her perceived lack of morals, the white rabbit finally stood up, her posture firm. She then delivered a sharp slap across the face of the lead bully and spoke with a fierce, defiant voice:
“Can you all just shut the hell up! I don’t care how what I did affects any of you! I am not the one who wanted to do it in the first place! It’s true I had sex with them, and so what? Talk like you’ve never had a dick before! Plus, before you all talk trash to me, you better tell your own men to control their dicks! They were the ones who approached me first!”
She stood her ground, confirming her position and her refusal to be shamed. The leader of the bullies, enraged by the slap, was about to retaliate, but she froze when she saw a large, towering wolf standing directly behind the white rabbit. The entire group of bullies screamed and scattered, running away in terror.
The white rabbit, whose defiance had been the catalyst for the bullies’ retreat, stood with a smug, proud smile. Then, one of the fleeing bullies screamed back:
“Yeah, eat that, bitch! Eat her! Don’t even leave a little piece of her, Mr. Wolf!”
When the white rabbit heard that, she turned to look behind her and saw Legoshi standing there, his imposing figure looming over her. He looked startled, almost predatory, as if he were indeed about to devour her.
Five minutes later, Legoshi and the white rabbit found themselves sitting on a bench in the school garden. Legoshi had just bought a drink for the small rabbit, whose name was Haru.
“Thank you for the drink, Legoshi-kun,” Haru said softly.
“No need to thank me, Miss Haru.”
“No need to call me ‘Miss,’ either. I’m one year older than you,” she corrected him with a slight smile.
“Okay… So, may I ask what exactly happened?”
“As you heard, they were bullying me because of the rumors. You must have heard the gossip about me being the school’s big slut.”
“You seem too kind for what they say. I don’t really believe what people say unless I see it with my own eyes.”
“Heh, ahaha. How nice of you, Legoshi. Thank you for the drink.”
They sat in comfortable silence for a moment before Haru asked Legoshi to accompany her to her club to help her with a task.
“Hey, Legoshi, I hope you don’t mind helping me with something at my club. It’s the garden club.”
“The garden club? I didn’t know we had one.”
“Yes, it’s not well-known because most of the members are no longer here. I’m the only one left.”
“Oh, I see.”
They walked together to the garden club. Haru asked Legoshi to help her move and water her flowers. Since she was alone, she couldn’t manage everything by herself all the time. She explained how lonely she felt and how she viewed the flowers as her children, caring for them day by day. As they worked, she often put herself in minor danger, requiring Legoshi to instinctively step in and help her. Because of these interactions, Legoshi began to feel a strange sensation toward her—something akin to happiness. His tail even began to wag intermittently.
After hours of cleaning, arranging the garden, and watering the flowers, they finally finished. Haru claimed that if she had done it alone, it would have taken much longer. She then led him to a small room near the gardens—a little chamber for the club members to rest or relax. Inside, there was a bed, a desk, and various supplies.
She asked Legoshi to enter the chamber.
“Hey, would you like to come in here and help me remove this?”
Legoshi entered the room without a second thought. He then saw Haru, who was now lying on the bed, half-naked, her clothes partially removed.
“H-Haru?! What are you doing? Please put your clothes back on!”
She ignored him, walking forward to push him against the wall, and with her other hand, she locked the door.
Legoshi was in a panic. He didn’t know how to handle the situation. His mind screamed for him to stop this, but his body seemed to betray him, remaining still, as if allowing it to happen.
“Wow, look at that… The fur on your chest looks exactly the same as the fur on your lower body. And your fur is so creamy, thick, and soft.”
She exclaimed how beautiful and sensual Legoshi was, trying to build a romantic atmosphere around them.
“You know, this is my first time doing this kind of thing with a carnivore. I hope you don’t mind if I see your dick.”
She started to unzip Legoshi’s pants and pull them down, but Legoshi would not let that happen. He was not ready to lose his virginity yet. He pulled his pants back up with a sudden, powerful movement.
“No! Stop it now!”
He screamed, pulling himself away. In his panic, he grabbed a nearby towel and quickly covered Haru’s body.
“Hey, what is the meaning of this? Do you know how hard I worked to create this romantic atmosphere? Wait… maybe I misunderstood… or this isn’t what you wanted… Oh God, what have I done?!”
“Please, Haru, put your clothing back on. We don’t want anyone else to see you like this.”
Suddenly, the door, which was supposed to be locked, was easily thrown open by a strong, blonde-haired woman with green eyes.
“UmU, my Praetor! I am back… Heh…”
“N-Nero?!”
“Wait, please! This is not what you think!” Legoshi pleaded.
“You! Filthy, low beast! How dare you lay your dirty hands on my MASTER!”
The lady named Nero pulled out her crimson sword, preparing to strike Legoshi.
“You die! Haaa!!!!”
Suddenly, Kagetora, in her human form, appeared and blocked Nero’s attack with her lance. She looked directly into Nero’s eyes.
“Chill, my friend. My master means no harm to yours.”
“Tch! Master and servant? Then you are my enemy!”
Both women took a step back, their weapons poised.
“Tell me, from that form of yours, you must be a Heroic Spirit from the Land of the Rising Sun? Are you my enemy?” Nero challenged.
“Unfortunately, I am not your enemy. Rather, I am an ally.”
Haru and Legoshi, who were nearby, were shocked by the sudden, dramatic situation. They hurriedly put their clothes back on before Haru finally found her voice.
“OI! BOTH OF YOU STOP FIGHTING! YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO HURT MY CLUB AND MY FLOWERS!!!”
