Work Text:
Osamu was walking down the street he lived on, listening to Mitski. His brown hair blew in the wind, going in his face. His sand colored coat blew slightly behind him. He was completely lost in Mitski’s vocals that he didn’t notice the traffic cone in front of him...
He fell over the cone, slamming his head into the road beneath him. His body thudded onto the road, blood spewing out of his head. He lifted his head up, mumbling about something. I don’t think he noticed the massive hole in his head, or his brains splattered onto the pavement in front of him. He took a hand to his head, his eyes widening as much as they could at the sight of the blood. “s…sh-shit...” he gasped, coughing blood. His sight faded to black and the last thing he heard was someone shouting...
… “Osamu! “
Mizuki shouted. She was walking down the road, looking for Osamu. They were planning of meeting at the end of the road, but she was late due to her work partner, Saki, needing comfort. “Osamu!? “She shouted out again, hoping he would hear her. She stumbled, almost falling over an orange object on the road in front of her. She found out it was a traffic cone, laying on the ground. She found a pair of headphones, owned by… Osamu?? Why didn’t he have his headphones? Did something happen? Is he okay?
She ran down the road, shouting out. Someone was laying on the ground, a little bit farther up the road. Mizuki ran over, turning the body so it faced her. Brown hair, brown eyes, sand colored coat- OSAMU?? Mizuki brushed his hair out the way to find his face sticky with blood. She turned pale, her eyes turning dark with discomfort. “…Osamu? A-Are… this is just a joke right…? O-Osamu?!” Tears welled up in her eyes as she held his body close to her. She sobbed, barely being able to breathe. After crying for a while, her medical instincts kicked in. She pressed two fingers on his neck, putting her head on his chest to check for a pulse. Silence. He did not have one. Tears welled up in her eyes yet again when she noticed, starting to hyperventilate. She didn’t have him anymore. She simply couldn’t live without him.
Two souls were lost on that road that night
