Turnabout Mashup

Summary:

Miles Edgeworth receives a suspicious invitation to a luxury beach resort. After being bugged about it to death, Edgeworth, Gumshoe, & Kay all head down where they run into 16 characters from other works of fiction submitted by you. It goes well, until the owner of the resort is found dead in the ocean. Now it's up to Edgeworth to figure out whodunnit, will he ever catch a break? (Character Submissions Closed)

Chapter 1: Prologue

Prosecutor’s Office (Japanifornia)

10:00 AM

 

     Miles Edgeworth was in the middle of organizing his paperwork. This was all very important paper work too, as most of it had to do with cases his colleagues were taking. Between this and that trip to Khura’in which took a lot out of Edgeworth’s schedule as well, he was ready to just get back to his apartment, drink some tea, ………watch Steel Samurai…., and all that. But right as Miles was about to be finished, the doors to his office flung open.

 

“MR. EDGEWORTH!!!” Gumshoe exclaimed. “You’ll never believe this!”

 

“ACK!” Miles yelled out. “DETECTIVE GUMSHOE, DO NOT SCARE ME LIKE THAT!”

 

“Er, sorry, sir,” Gumshoe scratched the back of his head. “I wanted to show ya this flier I found. Ya deserve a vacation, sir.”

 

“Vacation?” Edgeworth crooked an eyebrow as he took the flier from Gumshoe’s hands.

“Detective, I’m sorry to say, but I don’t have the time.” Edgeworth told Gumshoe. “I just got started on all of this paperwork after all, and that’s not even mentioning how something about that flier feels fishy.”

 

“Ah, that’s too bad,” Gumshoe’s shoulders slouched. “‘Cuz I already told Kay we were going.”

 

“WHAT!?”

     Kay jumped in through the window right on cue.

 

“Long time no see, Mr. Edgeworth!” Kay smiled.

 

“Kay? Last I heard, you had entered some reality show? Emerald, was it?” Miles tried to remember.

 

“Yeah, things got really crazy at the end there,” Kay snickered. “But I am so ready for that beach resort trip, you’ll never believe it!”

 

“You should absolutely enter one o’ those shows, someday, Mr. Edgeworth.” Gumshoe joked. “You’ll kill everyone with that glare of yours and they’ll have to give you the money after that.”

 

     Miles gave the detective one of his infamous glares at that comment.

 

“We are not going on a trip,” Edgeworth slammed his palm down on the desk. “Do I look like some sort of teacher taking his class on a field trip?”

 

“Maybe,” Kay smirked. “If this were a field trip at Themis Legal Academy or something.”

 

“Oh, good lord,” Edgeworth massaged his temples.

 

“By the way, I kinda….sorta….” Kay droned.

 

“Sort of what, Kay?”

 

“Sort of stole this scary samurai guy’s sword,” Kay held a random sword in her hands. “It just looked too cool to pass up, y’know.”

 

Edgeworth flinched. “Th-that’s Prosecutor Blackquill’s sword, I suggest you give it back, less you want to get attacked by that bird of his.”

 

“Hmmm,” Kay tapped her chin before saying, “I’ll give it back….if we go on a field trip to that resort.”

 

“Seriously?” Miles deadpanned. “Fine, since you two will not stop bugging me about it, I suppose we can make time for it.”

 

     Kay & Gumshoe high fived after Edgeworth had finally relented.

 

“Alright! Now we’re talkin’! What time, Mr. Edgeworth?” Gumshoe asked.

 

“I’ll say tomorrow at 9, don’t be late.” Edgeworth told the duo. “And please, let this be a normal field trip.”

 

“With you, Mister E?” Kay said smugly.

 

“No way!” Gumshoe finished.

Welp, here's this spinoff thing to the main Wahverse fics. This won't be updated nearly as often as the main stories, but I thought this would be a cool idea. Basically this fic will be an Ace Attorney case in the style of Ace Attorney Investigations. The twist is that all of the other witnesses/other characters involved will be submitted by you. These can be characters from other games, movies, shows, books, etc., and there are 16 slots left. The rules are, no NSFW characters and no real people (for example, I would only accept a YouTuber if said YouTuber is already playing a character ala Scott the Woz or AVGN or something). Anyways, now that all that's out of the way, you can get to submitting.
