A long time ago…

Before 'time' had a name…

There was a man known as the 'First Spinjitzu Master'…

Now, I know what you're thinking of…

What in the world is 'Spinjitzu'?

Well…

Allow me to tell you…

Spinjitzu is a form of fighting done by a ninja who has elemental powers…

As they must be one with said powers through spinning…

It is an art of battle…

And can only be used by the most earnest of warriors…

And the First Spinjitzu master himself… was a warrior like that…

Inspired by dragons…

Mysterious creatures who traveled through various realms…

The First Spinjitzu taught that art to his two sons…

One who brought it to light…

And one who fell into darkness…

And this story…

Is where the son of light, will teach 'Spinjitzu'…

A way of fighting for warriors…

Who care for their family…

Who don't see themselves as odd…

Who are free of judgement…

And who find their true potential…

And this…

…is the beginning.

And it all starts in a place called Ninjago…

It all started off as a mysterious man with gray hair in white and green, walking down a path in the middle of autumn…

The man looks at a building labeled 'Four Weapons', where he hears the sound of metal clanging…

In the building… was a girl with black hair in a spiky ponytail, wearing an apron, working on a sword.

“To forge the perfect weapon, you first need the right metal and plenty of heat.” The girl said as she finished forging the sword, then dipping it in water. “Cool it off and…” After pulling it up from the water, she noticed that the sword was now completely bent, much to the girl's frustrations. “Oh come on! Not again!” The girl complained as she looked at it.

“I told you Nya, you made the sword way too quickly.” A boy with slightly spiky brown hair said.

“I know that, Kai.” Nya grumbled.

Those two were known as Kai and Nya Smith.

“Remember what dad said Nya?” Kai asked.

“No matter how much fire you have, experience isn't something you'll learn overnight.” Nya answered. “It may work for you Kai, but I'll be a great blacksmith like dad.” She explained.

“Well… I don't know, remember the last time I worked on a sword? The tip spiraled!” Kai explained.

“Well, that's because the bucket wasn't deep enough.” Nya responded as she tried to fix the sword, resulting in a loud clanging noise, which caused the mysterious man in green and white to approach the two.

“It appears that your metal is loud and heavy… useful to slow one down… but useless to stealth itself…” The man said, which caused the Smith twins to look at. “All tools for a samurai of course… but not for a ninja…”

“Whatever old man.” Nya grumbled. “There aren't any ninja here… if that's what you're looking for.” She explained to the mysterious man.

“And besides, this shop is called 'Four Weapons', not 'For Browsing'.” Kai commented.

“So are you going to buy something or not, cause I'm busy working on sword. So don't bother me.” Nya dryly asked the man.

“Well that's a shame…” The man commented. “Guess I have to look for something special elsewhere…” He said as he was about to leave.

This made Kai looking at his younger sister.

“Nya! That was our first customer since last month!” Kai scolded. “You could've been a bit more nicer!” He explained.

“Well I had a rough day, I tried to create a sword 28 times!” She explained.

“So… why not take a break?” Kai asked. “Why don't you give that man something?” He asked.

“Kai, I'm not giving away stuff for free.” Nya bluntly said.

Kai immediately gave his sister a signal that she had to do it.

“…fine.” Nya mumbled as she grabbed a helmet. “Hey, if you're in need of something special… I have—”

But before Nya could finish, she saw that the man was gone.

“Nya… is something wrong?” Kai asked.

Nya wanted to respond that the man quickly disappeared, but it would be unbelievable…

“It's… it's nothing.” Nya muttered as she placed the helmet down.

Leaving her to wonder where did that mysterious man went…

Elsewhere…

A dark cloud was rolling in the evening sky, causing some farmers to look at the sky with concern…

And that is when the farmers soon realized what it was…

As a bunch of skeleton-like creatures driving in skeletal vehicles…

“Let me go first! Let me go first! I'm dying to go down there!” The skeletal creature with a metal eyepatch begged.

“Keep quiet you numbskull!” Another skeletal creature scolded, except this skeletal creature had a helmet on. “Try to control yourself in front of Master Samukai!” He said as he pointed to the giant skeletal creature . “…and with all due respect sir, you did say that I could go first.” He muttered.

“Sorry boys.” The giant said. “But this one's mine.” Samukai explained. “Just remember what we're after… and find that map.” He reminded. “ATTACK!” He shouted as he raised his bony sword, as various other skeletal creatures speed down the road.

Causing the farmers to pick up their bamboo sticks, planning on attacking the skeletal creatures…

…

…

…

…only to run away in fear.

As the skeletal creatures drove to Four Weapons.

“Uh Nya? What are those creatures?” Kai asked.

“No idea. But I'm going to check it out. Stay right here.” Nya responded as she put some armor on, and grabbed a sword.

As Nya left the shop…

She took notice of the skeletal creatures… and saw that they were using bones as swords.

Nya tries to fight against them, with one skeletal creature's head popping off as Nya tried to decapitate it. Only for her to get bitten on the leg.

“OWW!” Nya screamed as she looked at the bouncing skeletal's head. “Bite this!!!” She yelled as she kicked the skull over the building…

And despite fighting against Nya, two of the skeletal creatures clapped in applause…

…

…

…

…only for them to be knocked out by Kai, who used a bamboo stick.

“Kai! I thought I told you to stay back!” Nya responded.

“It's my duty to help my little sister if she gets hurt!” Kai responded as he and Nya fought against the mysterious creatures…

Unaware that two of these skeletal creatures sneaked past behind the twins.

“Nuckal! You're not looking hard enough!” The skeletal creature in the helmet scolded as he threw a helmet at the skeletal creature with the eyepatch, who was looking at himself in a reflection, caused by a shield.

“OW! Kruncha!” Nuckal said as he rubbed his head. “You're the one who's not looking enough!” He said as he threw another helmet.

That ultimately resulted in a petty fight, causing Kruncha to push Nuckal onto a wall, resulting in the sign of Four Weapons falling, and revealing what they were searching for…

“THE MAP!!!” The two shouted in unison.

Back with Nya…

She was still fighting against the mysterious skeletal creatures…

And soon saw Samukai in front of her…

Nya was prepared to fight against him…

Only for Samukai to reveal that he had four swords… one in each arm…

“Oh shoot…” Nya mumbled quietly.

But still, Nya had to face him off. She tried to fight against the skeletal giant, only for her to lose her sword in the process… and be kicked down by Samukai.

Nya tried to get up, but she soon saw that Samukai spinning all four of his swords, aiming to point at Nya…

But as Nya was about to lose…

“NINJA… GO!!!”

A brightly lit tornado appeared out of nowhere, and attacked Samukai, who tried to hold it off… resulting in Samukai to learn who it was…

And who was it?

It was none other than…

“Sensei Garmadon!” Samukai said as he saw the mysterious man stopping his spinning. “It appears that your Spinjitzu is rusty.” He joked.

“Nothing like bone to sharpen it's edge Samukai.” Garmadon said.

Samukai growled at Garmadon's remark. That's when he noticed Nya trying to get up.

Which gave the skeletal giant an idea.

He took notice of an old and wooden water tower and immediately threw all four of his swords at Garmadon, who dodged… only for the swords to hit a support beam, causing the water tower to crush Nya.

However, Garmadon shouted 'NINJA GO!' once again.” As he spun into the same tornado and picked up Nya.

The two immediately saw Samukai returning to the large skeletal vehicle he was driving.

“Samukai! What should we do?” Nuckal asked.

“Take the boy!” He ordered. “It's what Lord Wu ordered us to do!”

“Lord… Wu?” Garmadon responded in surprise.

Just then, a skeletal creature launched a giant bony hand to capture Kai, who was holding off the creatures.

“What the…?” Kai said as he looked at what grabbed him, only for him to scream as he was dragged away.

“KAI!!!” Nya cried in horror to see her brother being captured by the skeletal creatures as they drove off with him in their grasp.

“H-Hey! Come back!” Nya responded as she tried to follow the creatures, but was too slow to follow them…

“I'm sorry… but it's too late…” Garmadon apologized in a sad tone.

“Too late…?” Nya muttered as she was seething anger. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S 'TOO LATE'!? COULDN'T YOU USED YOUR… SPINNY MOVE THING!?”

“It's called 'Spinjitzu'.” Garmadon stated.

“WHATEVER!” Nya yelled. “YOU DID NOTHING EXCEPT SAVE MY LIFE!!!”

She immediately knew what she had to do.

“I'm going to save my brother.” Nya said as she was about to leave.

“You can't.” Garmadon stated. “Those were the Skulkin, lead by the King of the Underworld Samukai himself. Who rules the Underworld, a place where no mortal like you should go.” He said. “And if it's true… then they're carrying orders of Lord Wu himself. Which will make things bad.” He pondered.

“Ok… what?” Nya said as she calmed down. “Who's this 'Lord Wu' guy, what's this about the 'Underworld', why did they attack us, and what's so important about it for them to kidnap my brother?” She asked.

“What's so important?” Garmadon asked. “How about everything in Ninjago.” He stated.

And that is when he began to narrate.

“Long before time had a name…”

“Ninjago was created by the First Spinjitzu Master by using the four weapons of Spinjitzu…”

“The Scythe of Quakes…”

“The Nunchucks of Lightning…”

“The Shurikens of Ice…”

“And the Sword of Fire…”

“These weapons were so powerful, that no one could handle all of them at once…”

“And when the First Spinjitzu Master passed away, his two sons swore to protect them…”

“But the youngest was consumed by darkness, and wanted to possess them…”

“A battle between brothers broke out, and the youngest was struck down and banished to the Underworld…”

“Peace returned and the older brother hid the weapons…”

“Knowing that his younger brother's endless ambition of power, he placed a guardian to protect them…”

“And for fear of his own demise… a map for an honest man to hide…”

“Who were those people?” Nya asked.

“The honest man… was your father.” Sensei Garmadon stated.

Nya was shocked…

“My… dad?” She asked.

“Yes…” Garmadon said. “And the younger brother is Lord Wu.” He stated. “So I need to find the weapons before he does…”

“Why do you need to find the weapons?” Nya asked.

That is when Garmadon faced Nya.

“Because Lord Wu is my brother…” He stated.

“You mean… you're the older brother?” Nya asked. “So you came here to find the map?”

“No… I came here to find something greater…” Garmadon answered.

This made Nya confused.

And that is when Garmadon pointed at her.

“You.” He stated.

That made Nya gasp.

“Since my brother cannot enter this realm, he made a deal with Samukai.” Garmadon said. “And if my brother has all four weapons, even I won't be able to stop him again.” He explained. “But you…” Garmadon said as he pointed to Nya. “You have the fire inside.”

“The fire… inside me?” Nya asked.

“I will train you, to harness it, use it, and become a Spinjitzu Master.” Garmadon explained.

“I… I appreciate the offer but… I don't want to get involved in your sibling rivalry.” Nya said. “I'm going to save my sister no matter what.” She explained as she was about to leave. Only to be stopped by Garmadon… who did a spin attack onto Nya.

“Not so fast. If you want to save your sister, you need to control that fire burning inside of you.” Garmadon informed. “And only when you become a Spinjitzu Master, will you be able to face Lord Wu.”

This left with one option.

She had to save her brother from Samukai, who was ordered by Lord Wu…

But in order to do so, she had to train under Garmadon…

So it left her one thing to do…

“Fine.” Nya answered. “So when do we start?” She asked.

~

The next day…

Nya had to climb up a rocky cliff, as she was catching her breath, she noticed Sensei Garmadon climbing up the cliff very easily.

The two made it to the top, where they were in front of a gate with two red doors.

“How… long… will… this… training… last?” She asked Garmadon as she was catching her breath.

“Patience is a virtue.” Garmadon stated as he opened the gate's doors, revealing it to be a monastery.

“Is this—”

“A monastery? Yes.” Garmadon answered. “You'll be ready when you're ready.” He said as he left.

“So… I'm fighting in a place of peace?” Nya asked as she raised an eyebrow.

“No… you'll be training.” Garmadon said. “To become a true ninja. First, you must see what others do not see.” He stated.

“But there's nothing here!” Nya stated.

That is when Garmadon revealed that one of the fence posts had a hidden button underneath the dragon statue.

And when Garmadon pressed it, that is when the large dragon statue in front of Nya raised, revealing that the Monastery was a training ground.

And this made Nya interested.

“Woah… will these teach me how to do that cool move?” Nya asked as she landed on one of the platforms… only to be launched off of it and fall.

“Complete the course, and then we'll see if you pass.” Garmadon explained as he poured himself some tea… and quickly drank it.

“HEY!” Nya shouted.

“You fail.” Garmadon said. “Tomorrow, you'll try again.”

“BUT I DIDN'T EVEN START TO—”

But before Nya could finish, the doors closed.

“Patience is a virtue, make sure of it.” Garmadon stated behind the closed doors.

The next day…

Nya began to train again… so she started with the training dummies and…

“Failed.”

So Nya trained the next day and…

“Failed.”

Then the next day…

“Failed.”

And the next day after that… Nya managed to get a hang of it, she managed to get half of the training done, until she met a bunching bag and…

“Failed.”

But the next day… Nya had to do it… she managed the training, and soon saw Garmadon about to sip his tea, until she threw a sword at it, giving her extra time…

So Garmadon poured another cup, and noticed Nya was missing… until he heard a noise.

“Is that one sugar or two?” A voice asked.

It was Nya, who was behind him.

“Impressive.” Garmadon commented.

“So… am I going to learn about this whole 'Spinjitzu thing'? Or not?” Nya asked.

“You already have.” Garmadon stated. “Your final test comes tomorrow.” He added. “Best to get some sleep.” The Sensei suggested.

As night fell…

Three ninjas, cladded in black invaded the Monastery…

Sneaking past a sleeping Garmadon, the three made it to Nya's room, who was busy brushing her teeth in red pajamas.

With the words of Sensei Garmadon echoing in her head.

“Best to get some sleep.”

“Don't tell me what to do Garmadon. I do what I want!” Nya told herself. “Take this!” She said as she swung her toothbrush around like a sword… unaware that the three ninjas got inside her room…

…

…

…

…until she got noticed by a ninja wielding a scythe.

“Uh oh…” Nya said as she was surrounded by three ninjas.

Nya had to flee.

First, she shoved her toothbrush in the most of a ninja who had shurikens. (Who also had a silver face underneath the mask for some reason.)

This resulted in the shuriken-wielding ninja to spit it out, hitting the ninja holding the nunchucks. Who blocked it, resulting in the toothbrush to land onto the back of the ninja carrying the scythe.

This managed Nya to flee easily.

However, the ninja wielding the shurikens tried to attack Nya, but the latter dodged the former and fell.

But the nunchucks-wielding ninja immediately kicked Nya, resulting in her to land in the training grounds. Knocking into a fence post which had the button revealed.

“Where is she!” The scythe-wielding ninja asked as he looked around.

“Over there!” The shuriken-wielding ninja said as he pointed to Nya, who pressed the button, causing the training grounds to activate.

This of course resulted in the nunchucks-wielding ninja and shuriken-wielding ninja to be distracted, causing them to lose to wear weapons.

While the scythe-wielding ninja dodged one of the machines, but was struck by Nya who grabbed herself onto it. Resulting in the scythe-wielding ninja to lose his scythe.

After that, Nya had to face off against the three ninja.

There were punches and kicks, kicks and punches, until all of them were in a pile of an endless brawl.

“Seems like you've meet your match!” One of the ninjas said. “Prepare to meet your doom, because nobody… messes… with Jay Gordon!”

“JAY!”

One of the ninjas screamed as a record stopped playing a needle scratched it.

“What did I tell you about revealing yourself!” One of the ninjas scolded as he stopped fighting.

“Oh come on! I was dying to say that!” The ninja named 'Jay' said as he let go of Nya.

“Wait… Jay Gordon…?” Nya asked as she got up. “As in… the son of the actor Cliff Gordon?” She asked.

“Um… no…?” The ninja named Jay said. “I meant to say… Jay Walker… yeah. Jay Walker! Nobody messes with Jay Walker!” The ninja explained.

“Jay, that's surname of the people you work for.” The ninja with the silver face said as he let go.

“He's right, I know that you must be the son of Cliff Gordon.” Nya explained. “Because that guy tends to let people know who he is.”

“Alright fine… you got me.” The ninja named 'Jay' said as he blushed. “Yep! I'm the son of the famous Cliff Gordon!” He said as he removed his mask, revealing that he has short brown hair.

“JAY! FOCUS!” The ninja who's identity has yet to be known. “DIDN'T I ALREADY TELL YOU NOT TO REVEAL YOUR IDENTITY?” He asked.

“Oh come on Cole! I didn't mean to!” Jay apologized.

“AND CAN YOU NOT MENTION MY NAME!?” The ninja named 'Cole' asked.

“Hey, at least I don't mention your name like how Zane tends to do it.” Jay said as he pointed to the silver-faced ninja, who somehow lost his mask, revealing that his face was completely metallic, especially his hair.

“HE CAN'T HELP HIMSELF BECAUSE HE WAS PROGRAMMED TO DO SO!” Cole argued.

“Guys. Stop.” The ninja named 'Zane' ordered.

But it was no avail…

Two of the ninjas were arguing as Nya and Zane were watching the two argue.

In fact, the two were arguing so loudly, that someone had to step in…

And that someone wasn't Garmadon.

“HEY!” A small voice called.

That is when everyone turned to face a young boy, with blonde hair, dressed in green sleepwear, was looking at the two arguing ninjas.

“It's the middle of night! You need to fight the Skulkin! Not each other! And especially your newest member!” The child scolded as he pulled off the currently masked ninja, who had black hair.

“Newest… member?” Cole asked.

“Now hold on a minute!” Nya shouted. “Who are you!?” She asked as she pointed to the child.

“I'm Lloyd. You must be Nya, the newest ninja to join the team.” The introduced himself.

“You're joining us?” Jay asked.

“Yeah… I am.” Nya responded.

“Well… if that's the case then… sorry I attacked you.” Jay apologized.

“Hey, no worries.” Nya responded.

“So um… do you like blue?” Jay asked.

“JAY!” Cole scolded. “Just because she's the newest member doesn't mean you're going to hit on her!”

“I just wanted to bond with her!” Jay responded. “But for real though, do you like blue?” He whispered to Nya.

“JAY!!!”

“WHAT'S GOING ON HERE!” A familiar voice shouted.

It was Sensei Garmadon.

“Hi Sensei.” The three ninjas in black said as they bowed their heads.

That is when Nya looked at Garmadon, and back at the ninjas, and back at Garmadon, and back at the ninjas, and back at Garmadon, and back at the ninjas, and back at Garmadon, and back at the ninjas, and back at Garmadon.

“Are they… also your students?” Nya asked.

Garmadon silently nodded.

“And was this my final test?” Nya asked again.

Garmadon silently nodded again.

“So… do I pass or not?” She asked.

“THAT'S YOUR RESPONSE!?” Cole asked.

“Cole, please calm down.” Zane ordered.

“Calm down? ZANE THIS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!!!” Cole responded.

“Indeed.” Garmadon stated. “Each and every one of you have been chosen, each of you are one with elemental properties.” He explained. That is when he faced Lloyd. “Lloyd, get the laundry basket.” He ordered.

“You got it, dad!” Lloyd said as he ran inside.

“Did Lloyd say… 'Dad'?” Nya asked.

“He's Sensei Garmadon's son.” Jay answered.

“Is he… also a student?” Nya asked.

“No. He's more like an assistant.” Jay explained.

And speaking of Lloyd, the child returned with a wooden basket filled with clothes, and handed the basket to his father.

“Here it is!” Lloyd said.

“Thank you Lloyd.” Garmadon said as he grabbed the basket.

And soon…

“Ninja… go!” Garmadon shouted as he performed another Spinjitzu moved, dressing each of the ninjas in different colored outfits.

Zane was now dressed in white.

Jay was now dressed in blue.

Nya was now dressed in red.

And Cole was still dressed in black.

“Woah… how did you do that?” Nya asked.

“It's Spinjitzu, Nya.” Lloyd commented.

“Anyways… I think it's time to tell you four, of what you are called.” Garmadon said. “Nya Smith.” He stated. Causing the girl in red to face him.

“Yes Sensei Garmadon?” Nya responded.

“You are now known as the Master of Fire. As your passion to save those burns bright like the flame inside of you.” Garmadon stated.

He then faced Jay.

“Jay Gordon.” Garmadon stated. “You are now known as the Master of Lightning. For your skills in such great skills that can provide for the team.”

“Wow? Really? I guess my skills in inventing, building, cooking, poetry and—”

“I can see why you are the Master of Lightning.” Lloyd commented. “Although you're more like the 'Mouth of Lightning'.” He muttered.

“I heard that!” Jay responded.

That is when Garmadon turned to face Cole.

“Cole Bucket.” Garmadon stated. “You are now known as the Master of Earth. As you keep your duty of being a ninja rock solid.”

“Wow… that's the cool title.” Nya commented.

“Thanks.” Cole responded. “And before you ask, there ain't nothing in this world I'm afraid of.” He added.

“Except for dragons.” Lloyd, Zane, and Jay all said in unison.

“Dragons are not from *this* world! I said *in* this world.” Cole corrected.

That is when Garmadon turned to face Zane.

“And Zane Julien.” Garmadon stated. “You are now known as the Master of Ice. For your cold and calculating skills of being a nindroid.”

“Thank you Sensei Garmadon.” Zane said as he bowed.

“A nindroid?” Nya asked. “You mean he's a robot for real?”

“Indeed. I was built to be a ninja by my creator.” Zane explained. “Is there something wrong?” He asked.

“She's just curious.” Jay reassured.

“Oh right.” Zane responded robotically. “Ha ha.”

“Now pay attention everybody!” Lloyd ordered. “You four were chosen by my dad, to be the chosen ones who will protect the four weapons of Spinjitzu, from my uncle Lord Wu.” He explained.

“What about my brother?” Nya asked.

“Your brother?” Jay asked.

“My brother Kai, he got captured by the Skulkin.” Nya explained.

“When we'll find the weapons, we'll find your sister.” Garmadon reassured. “It is now time to find the first weapon.” He said.

“But what about Spinjitzu! You said that you'll teach us about it!” Cole reminded.

“Spinjitzu is inside each and everyone of you.” Garmadon explained. “But it will only be unlocked the key is ready to be found.”

That left every ninja puzzled.

“Now then… we must take the carriage to find the first weapon.” Garmadon said as he left.

“You heard him! We got to go!” Lloyd said as he followed his dad.

“So… we have to find a key to learn Spinjitzu?” Jay asked.

“Probably much. I mean… I think he'll take us on a ride.” Cole responded.

“If it's the only way I'll find my brother. Then sign me up.” Nya said as she put on her mask.

The next day…

“THIS IS NOT WHAT I SIGNED UP!” Nya complained as she and the ninjas were controlling a carriage that was carrying Lloyd and Garmadon, who were having tea.

“Well sorry Nya, but that's the life of a ninja.” Lloyd commented.

“I believe that this must be some form of team building exercise.” Zane guessed.

“Just keep pulling, we have a long way to go.” Cole ordered.

“So um… quick question, how did Sensei Garmadon find you guys?” Nya asked.

“Well if it wasn't for Sensei Garmadon, I don't think we would've seen each other.” Cole explained. “I was testing my limits while rock climbing!” He explained.

“I was testing one of my inventions and I met Sensei Garmadon after I crashed into a billboard.” Jay explained.

“And I was testing myself underwater in a frozen pond.” Zane explained.

“…What?” Nya asked.

“Zane's water-proofed.” Lloyd responded.

“Wow… well, then I guess if it wasn't for Sensei, none of would—”

“Stop!” Garmadon ordered. “We have arrived.” He stated as he looked at a desolate area in the forest.

As they approached the desolate area…

“Dad… what's that?” Lloyd asked he and the others were hiding behind a rock.

“The Caves of Despair.” Garmadon explained. “Samukai must be close to find the Scythe of Quakes.” He stated. “Remember, do not use the weapon for it's power is too dangerous for you mortals.” He ordered.

“Alright you guys, let's do this.” Jay stated. “Cole, got any plans?” He asked the Black Ninja.

“Sure do.” Cole answered. “First, we lower ourselves down the ledge and then Nya will—” but before Cole could finish. Nya was gone. “Ok, where did she go?” He asked.

“I think I know where.” Lloyd said as he pointed to a familiar Ninja in red, who was sneaking behind the Skulkin.

“Let's go!” Jay responded as he, Cole, and Zane followed Nya.

The three ninjas, like Nya, got past a few Skulkins, and came across a cart where they hid themselves in.

And a while later, they came across a Skulkin, who was about to notice Nya, so Cole snuck behind the Skulkin and the three ninjas attacked the Skulkin in the cart.

Speaking of Nya…

Nya looked up high and saw Samukai in a building made out of bones, and noticed that he was carrying something.

“The map!” She whispered.

Elsewhere, Nuckal and Kruncha were gathering rocks.

“Look! I found something!” Nuckal shouted as he picked up a strange looking rock on a conveyor belt.

“That's a rock you numbskull!” Kruncha responded. Unaware that three ninja were hidden at the bottom.

“But it's shaped like a doughnut!” Nuckal replied. “I wonder if it takes like it…” He wondered as he put it inside his mouth, only for it to cause him to lose his tooth. Much to the annoyance of Kruncha.

Back with Nya…

She managed to reach to the tower, along with the other ninjas.

The four ninjas immediately got onto the roof, to spy on Samukai.

“What's the matter with you!” Cole quietly scolded.

“Shush!” Nya shushed. She then pointeed at Samukai who was holding the map.

The Skulkin King grinned at the map, and decided to put it down. Which caused the ninjas to notice one thing about it.

“The map's upside down!” Jay whispered. “They're digging the wrong spot!”

“Which means that the golden weapon is near.” Zane said as he threw his shuriken to grab the map behind Samukai's back.

The four ninjas looked at the map very closely, and Nya thought of something.

“There's no time to waste. Let's go.” The red ninja stated as she jumped off the tower.

“Ok, what's her deal? Why's she in a rush?” Cole whispered as he and the others ninjas followed Nya.

A moment later…

Nya snuck behind two Skulkin, who were guarding a mine.

She came across a large rock and tried to move it. Something which the three ninjas took notice of.

“Hey, before you race off again. You need to know that we're a team.” Cole reminded.

“Yeah, whatever.” Nya responded, as the three ninjas came to help her push the large rock.

After that, they entered inside…

And inside…

The four ninjas saw what was in front of them…

A golden scythe being held by what appeared to be a large mouth of some creature…

It was the Scythe of Quakes…

“Woah…” Jay commented. “That is so COOL!” He shouted.

Cause some of the Skulkin to hear the noise.

“JAY!” Cole whispered. “Keep it down!” He ordered.

“Oh please, don't be paranoid!” Jay responded. “We're on the opposite side of the caves!” He explained.

“Then keep quiet!” Cole ordered. “We need to leave as those boneheads are still busy.” He said as he wrapped up the Scythe of Quakes and handed it to Nya.

However, as they left… they were unaware of what was holding the scythe… slowly moving it's jaws apart…

As they left the area…

“Alright team, we need to stay together since the way out is right around the corner.” Cole explained, only for him to turn to see that Samukai was in front of the ninjas. “Oops…”

That is when the ninjas were prepared for battle.

They immediately charged into to attack the Skulkin.

However, Nya found herself to be surrounded by Skulkin once more…

“Nya, toss the Scythe to me!” Zane ordered.

And Nya did so.

Then Zane tossed the scythe towards Cole.

“There's too many of them!” Nya shouted.

“Let me help!” Jay responded as he attacked the Skulkin, before noticing something.

That's when he had an idea.

“Guys! It's like the training course!” Jay shouted.

That's when he knew what he had to do.

“Over the plains.” Jay announced as he jumped over the Skulkin. “Dodge the swords.” He said as he dodged a swordfighting Skulkin. “And here comes the dummy!” Jay announced as he spun to attack a Skulkin, resulting in him to master something great…

It was Spinjitzu…

And everyone now saw a bright blue tornado completely made out of lightning.

“It's Spinjitzu…” Nya said in amazement. “What's the key, Jay?” She asked.

“I'm just going through the motions!” Jay answered. “This is probably what Sensei meant!” He explained.

“If that's the case… then over the plains, dodge the swords, and here comes the dummy!” Nya repeated as she jumped over a Skulkin, blocked another Skulkin with her sword, and spun herself into brightly lit tornado of fire.

“Ha! Looks like he called you a dummy!” Kruncha joked at Nuckal.

“No, he called you a dummy!” Nuckal responded. Before the two Skulkin noticed a white tornado, completely made out of snow. Resulting the two to flee.

“I guess that you didn't stand a chance.” Zane stated.

“Retreat!” Samukai ordered as all of the Skulkin fled from four tornadoes of fire, lightning, earth, and ice.

“And stay out!” Cole shouted at the Skulkin.

“Alright! We got the first Golden Weapon!” Jay said as he gave Nya a high five.

Just then, the four ninjas heard a rumbling noise.

“Um… guys? Didn't Sensei Garmadon say that there was guardian protecting the Golden Weapons?” Zane reminded.

“He did… but… why did you bring that up?” Cole asked.

That is when they heard the rumbling repeating, except it was much more louder.

That is when Cole immediately turned around and saw that what was behind the ninjas was a large brown dragon.

“Is… is that a dragon!?” Cole asked.

“It sure looks like one!” Jay responded.

“I believe that we won't be able to spin our ways out of this one!” Zane commented.

And soon then, the dragon roared at the ninja, causing the ninja to flee.

That is when Nya had an idea.

“Nya! Don't! Sensei told us not to!” Jay warned.

“Then keep your mouth shut!” Nya responded as she charged towards the dragon, carrying the golden scythe, and tried to attack the dragon with it, only for her to cause the ground to split in half and the cave about to collapse.

“WE GOT TO GO!!!” Cole ordered as the ninjas tried to flee from the caves.

That is when they saw an opening and knew what they had to do.

“Let's use Spinjitzu!” Cole ordered.

And everyone performed Spinjitzu to flee from the caves, where they saw Lloyd and Garmadon.

And after they got out, they stopped performing their Spinjitzu.

All of them said various things on how that they were the best and skilled ninjas. Much to Garmadon's disinterest and Lloyd's very obvious blank expression.

So that's when Lloyd thought of something to say…

“SHUT UP!!!”

And that is when all of the four ninjas turned to face Lloyd.

“Thank you.” Lloyd said as he bowed. “Dad?” He asked as he turned to face his father, who looked very angry at the ninjas.

“I told you, not to use the Scythe of Quakes.” He scolded.

“She did it!” Zane said as he pointed to Nya.

“HEY!” She responded.

“I tried to warn her!” Jay explained.

“I had no choice!” Nya responded.

“And what makes you think you're more important than the team?” Lloyd asked as he pointed to the red ninja.

“My brother was kidnapped!” Nya answered. “So don't blame me if my brother ends up dead thanks to you!” She yelled.

“Patience, Nya.” Garmadon ordered the red ninja. “There are still three weapons remaining.” He said as he was going to leave.

“And next time, do it right.” Lloyd ordered as he followed his dad.

After that, three of the ninjas followed the two, with Ninja glaring at the Sensei and his child, right before she followed them…

Elsewhere in the Underworld…

“Master… I have failed you… they have learned Spinjitzu… and they have the Scythe…” Samukai apologized.

“Good.” A mysterious man said. “Then that means my brother was there.”

“If I gather my army, we can easily ambush them and—”

“No.” Samukai's master said. “Let them think they'll win.” He ordered.

“I… I don't understand Master…” Samukai commented.

“Everything is going to plan.” He chuckled, as he revealed himself to Samukai, as he was an old man with a long beard, wore black armor with purple accents, and a dragon's skull as a crown.

That is when Samukai bowed to the man…

“Yes Master…”

“Please… call me by my true name…”

With the Scythe of Quakes being found…

The ninjas have three more golden weapons that need to be found.

The Shurikens of Ice…

The Nunchucks of Lightning…

And the Sword of Fire…

Those are the three weapons that the Ninjas need to find…

And as luck would have it, the map that the Ninjas have found showed that the Shurikens of Ice…

Making the Ninjas one step closer to their goal… as they set sail to the Golden Weapons…

On the ship…

“Ok, I spy something… white.” Jay said.

“Let me guess… Zane?” Lloyd guessed.

“Nope!” Jay responded. “It's the Frozen Wastelands!”

“JAY!” Cole shouted. “FOCUS!” He ordered as he was steering the ship.

“Oh come on Cole, lighten up! I just want to make things a bit more fun!” Jay responded.

“By playing 'I Spy'?” Cole asked.

“Yeah. And besides, Lloyd's having fun!” Cole responded as he pointed to the child in green.

“Seriously? He told us to 'Shut up' when we found the Scythe of Quakes!” Cole responded.

“Hey, I'm a kid. I'm allowed to have fun when I want to.” Lloyd responded. “So anyways, we're getting close.” He said.

And soon…

*CRASH!*

They nearly hit a wall.

“Ok, now I spy something broken.” Lloyd bluntly said as he looked at the ship crashing.

“So… quick question.” Nya spoke. “If Sensei Garmadon knows the way to the next Golden Weapon. Then how come he's not steering the ship?” She asked.

“Ok, this ship? It's called the 'Destiny's Bounty'.” Lloyd pointed out.

“And besides, Sensei's wisdom is beyond my own.” Zane responded.

“Also, why do us Ninjas have the powers of fire, ice, lightning, and earth?” Nya asked.

“Because they are the four elements combined to perform the greatest form of Spinjitzu.” Garmadon stated.

“The greatest form of Spinjitzu?” Nya asked.

“Yep! It's called the 'Tornado of Creation'.” Lloyd responded. “It has the abolity to create something out of nothing!” He explained.

“Well if that's the case—”

“NYA STOP!” Garmadon shouted as he stopped Nya from attempting to perform the move. “Performing the move incorrectly can lead to disastrous consequences.” He explained.

“Disastrous consequences? Like… what?” Nya asked.

*CRASH!*

That is when every Ninja turned to see that they crashed into the Frozen Wastelands.

“Like… that.” Lloyd said as he looked at the boat, as it was about to freeze over.

As the Ninjas made it to land…

They came across the Ice Temple…

And they noticed something… odd.

“Looks like people tried to find the Shurikens of Ice…” Nya commented as she pointed to a lot of frozen skeletons.

“Guys! Look!” Nya said as she pointed to two shurikens completely made out of gold.

“The Shurikens of Ice!” Zane said as he grabbed them… only to turn into a giant ice cube.

“Uh oh…” Jay muttered.

And that's when a large light blue dragon appeared.

“DOUBLE UH-OH!!!” Jay shouted as he, Nya, and Cole fled from the guardian by riding on Zane's icy prison. And crashing into a dead end, unfreezing Zane in the process.

“Ow.” Zane stated.

After that, they left to find the next weapon…

A while later…

The Ninjas made it to the Floating Ruins… where the Nunchucks of Lightning are said to be…

And that's when Zane took notice of a few Skulkin following them…

“We're being followed.” The White Ninja pointed out.

“Then let's go!” Jay said as he and the others Ninjas climbed up to reach the Nunchucks of Lightning.

And after reaching the top, Jay grabbed the Nunchucks of Lightning.

“Alright! Got them!” Jay said.

After that, a dark blue dragon appeared as lightning striked.

“Uh oh…” Jay muttered. That is when he turned to face his fellow Ninjas. “JUMP!” He said as he, Cole, Nya, and Zane immediately jumped off and reveal their gliders to float down to safety, which caught the attention of Nuckal, Kruncha, and Samukai. With the sole latter of the three laughing evilly.

After that, the four Ninjas landed and immediately ran to safety in the Forest of Tranquility, where they saw Lloyd waving at them by a campfire, and Garmadon meditating.

When they arrived at the Forest of Tranquility…

“Did you get the Nunchucks of Lightning?” Lloyd asked.

“Got them!” Jay said.

“Great, that leaves one more weapon remaining… the Sword of Fire.” Lloyd explained.

“And with that, I can save my brother.” Nya said. “But first… let's party!” She said as the Ninjas begin to party.

“Come on dad! Join in on the fun!” Lloyd said as he was dancing.

“I'm sorry Lloyd, but we have one more weapon to find. So we need to get some sleep.” Garmadon stated.

“Come on, Sensei. Join us!” Nya said as she was dancing.

“Yeah! We kicked their boney butts!” Jay responded.

“Well… I guess I can… but I need to let you all know. That this move is very special…” Garmadon warned.

“But if done incorrectly, will it lead to disastrous consequences?” Zane asked.

That is when everybody laughed.

“Zane, that's hilarious!” Lloyd chuckled.

“Shake what your momma gave you. Yeah, look at this one now. Hmm... oh yeah. Spin round. Oh yeah. I put my feet.” Garmadon sang as he joined in on the fun.

And with that, everyone was celebrating. Jay, Nya, and Lloyd were dancing with Garmadon, as Cole was playing on the drums, while Zane was watching.

As night fell…

Everyone fell asleep…

All except for Nya…

She was one step closer to free her brother…

She had to find him…

And that's when she heard something…

“Nya…”

It was a whispering voice…

“Nya…”

It was Kai's voice…

“Kai…?” Nya asked.

That's when she saw a familiar figure in front of her…

It was Kai…

“Kai…? What are you doing here!” Nya asked.

“I have to go…” Kai said as he left.

“Kai! Wait!” Nya said as she followed her brother.

The Ninja in red followed her brother through the forest… and soon saw where he was heading to…

The Fire Temple…

In the Fire Temple…

Nya saw her brother, standing in front of the Sword of Fire, the last Golden Weapon…

“Kai! You're ok!” Nya said as she happily runs into her reunited brother.

“Don't worry!” Kai said before his appearance and voice shifted into something more darker that caused Nya to stop. “…sister.” 'Kai' laughed evilly.

That is when Nya saw who it was…

It was a large shadow of her enemy…

“Lord Wu!” Nya said as she pulled out her sword.

“Aren't you forgetting something?” Wu asked.

“You can't hurt me! You were banished to the Underworld!” Nya said as she pointed her sword at the large shadow.

“Exactly… and only you can free me by pulling out the Sword of Fire.” Lord Wu stated.

“Like I would! I would never betray Sensei.” Nya responded.

“Oh really?” Wu's shadow stated as he revealed the real Kai having his entire body completely tied up by chains, and was suspended over a pool of lava.

“Kai!” Nya shouted in horror.

“Nya!” Kai responded.

“If you don't free your brother with that sword, I will drop him into the lava.” Wu ordered.

“Don't listen to him, Nya! It's a trap!” Kai said. Right before he was dropped closer to the lava.

“KAI!!!” Nya freaked out.

“What's it going to be Nya?” Wu asked.

Nya had to make a sadistic choice. Either she saves her brother and release Wu, or she keeps Wu sealed away but at the cost of her brother's life.

So she had no choice…

Nya jumped on every rock she could jump and grabbed the Sword of Fire.

“Ninja… go!” She shouted as she performed Spinjitzu and freed her brother by cutting the chains… like how Lord Wu planned.

“Stay close to me Kai.” Nya said.

“Trust me Nya, I won't leave you.” Kai responded.

“There! I got the sword! So now what?” Nya told Wu. “All what you are is that you're just a shadow!” She shouted.

“Even a shadow has it's uses.” Wu explained as he created a shadow version of Nya.

“Nya, look out!” Kai warned his sister.

“Stay behind me Kai!” Nya told her brother. “I'll handle this.” She said as she prepared to fight her shadow…

Only for her to fail… easily…

“Oh come on! That's not fair!” Kai said as Nya's shadow easily attacked his sister.

“Oh I'm sorry, am I being too hard?” Wu toyed Nya's mind as he created more shadows of himself. With one of them disarming Nya, however… as she was about to lose hope.

Someone appeared…

It was none other than Sensei Garmadon himself. Who's shadow was fighting the other shadows

“Ah, brother…” Wu commented. “I see that you protect one, but what about the other three?” He asked.

“They are safe! Far from you grasp, Wu!” Garmadon said as he handed Nya the Sword of Fire.

“Oh really? Then explain this!” Garmadon said as he showed something truly horrifying in the forest…

As things were not going so smooth for the other Ninjas…

As Cole, Zane, Jay, and Lloyd were attacked by the Skulkin. Who stole three of the Golden Weapons.

“I believe these belong to Lord Wu now.” Samukai said as he looked at them.

Garmadon could only watch in horror as his son and his students were captured.

“LLOYD!” Garmadon shouted in horror. “My brother must not unite the four golden weapons, we must keep them apart!” He said as he, Nya, and Kai fled.

However, Lord Wu has awoken a red dragon, that was guarding the Sword of Fire.

“Awaken, guardian of the deep! They're stealing the Sword! You must not let them escape!” Wu ordered.

Garmadon immediately jumps onto the head of the dragon, as it rises from the lava. The dragon roared with rage, as it seals the temple shut.

“Crud, there's no way out!” Nya said as she looked around.

“But there is one…” Garmadon said as he jumps onto a suspended rock floating in lava.

“Sensei, what are you doing?” Nya asked.

“No, you fool!” Wu screamed.

“I'm sacrificing my life. If Wu wants to bring the other weapons here, I will take the Sword of Fire to the Underworld.” Garmadon explained.

“No Sensei! Don't do it! I'll take your place instead! I shouldn't have come here!” Nya tried to reason her master.

But Garmadon responded by drinking his tea, and falling into the Underworld.

“NOOOOO!!!” Both Kai and Nya screamed in horror.

“If you want to fight in the Underworld, brother? Then I will accept it!” Wu's shadow said as it followed Garmadon to the Underworld.

“It's all my fault…” Nya said as she got onto her knees hopelessly. “Sensei won't be able to hold up for long.” She said.

“Forget Sensei, what about us?” Kai asked as he pointed to the red dragon, who had gotten up.

Back with Lloyd and the other Ninjas…

All of the Ninjas were tied to a tree…

As for Lloyd, he was… busy…

“Ugh! This kid is such a nuisance!” Samukai complained as he tried to capture Lloyd.

But despite not being a ninja, Lloyd was quick… and very aware that he wasn't in the mood to be kidnapped.

“We'll help Lord Samukai!” Nuckal and Kruncha said as they tried to capture Lloyd, for him to dodge the two quickly as he could do.

That's when Samukai tried again, but Lloyd gave the Skulkin King a headbutt.

And just when Lloyd arrived towards the tree, he was immediately captured by a few Skulkin warriors.

“Got you!” A Skulkin warrior said.

“Excellent, now… to Lord Wu!” Samukai ordered.

Just then Lord Wu's shadow appeared.

“My brother has taken the Sword of Fire to the Underworld. Hurry! Return home and unite the weapons before it's too late!” Wu ordered.

“Um… ok, change of plans…” Samukai muttered. “To the Underworld!” He ordered.

“What about the kid?” Kruncha asked.

“Drop him off at the Fire Temple! Don't let him foil our plans!” Samukai ordered. “Now, TO THE UNDERWORLD!!!” He said as he raised one of his weapons…

“TO THE UNDER—”

“Nuckal, what happened to your weapon?” Kruncha asked.

Nuckal looked at what was he holding and saw that it was… a stick.

And just then…

“JAY! NOW!!” Lloyd screamed as he was dragged away.

And at that moment, Jay pulled out Nuckal's sword, and cut the ropes that tied him, Cole, and Zane up, causing the three of them to land onto the two Skulkin.

“Great job Jay! Now let's go! We got to head to the Underworld before it's too late!” Cole said as he and the others Ninjas ran to follow the Skulkin, and sneaked onto the vehicles.

~

As for the Skulkin…

“Faster! We need to go faster to cross over to the Underworld!” Samukai ordered as he drove his vehicle.

“There they are!” Zane said as he and the others ninjas hopped from tree to tree, following the Skulkin.

“More speed! We'll never get home at this rate.” Samukai ordered again, but insteaad of going faster, he was going slower.

“What is the meaning of this…?” Samukai asked himself. That is when he noticed that Cole is pulling the chain off the vehicle. As Zane and Cole knock down two of the Skulkin.

Samukai was angry.

“GET THEM!!!” He ordered.

“Ninja, GO!!!” Jay shouted as he performed Spinjitzu and knocked out some of the Skulkin. After that, he came across the padlock.

And when Cole tried to punch it open… it failed.

“Okay... that's why they make keys.” The Blue Ninja groaned as he rubbed his fist.

As for Cole… he tries to knock Nuckal and Kruncha off, and manahed to do so.

“Great job! Cole! Now all what we need to do is—AUGH!” Jay said right before he dodged the scythe.

“Oh! Sorry Jay…” Cole apologized.

“Hey! No worries! Although I could've lost my voice!” Jay joked.

“JAY LOOK OUT!” Cole warned as he pushed Jay out of the way, as Zane came flying in, trying to stop Samukai but failed to do so…

“Sorry.” Zane apologized as he helped his fellow ninja up.

The three ninjas soon saw the Skulkin driving off into the Underworld.

Realizing that they lost.

“We didn't stop them in time…” Jay muttered.

“No need to say it out loud…” Cole said.

“Well… what about Lloyd, Nya, and Sensei?” Zane asked.

That is when the three ninjas soon realized one thing…

And shouted in unison…

Three…

Simple…

Words…

“THE FIRE TEMPLE!!!”

In the Underworld…

Garmadon was unconscious for his trip within the Underworld…

But he managed to wake himself up.

“So… this is what the Underworld looks like.” Garmadon said as he took notice of his surroundings.

Just then, he soon saw some Skulkin, and immediately hid the Sword of Fire by wrapping it up, and plans on searching for his brother.

~

Meanwhile with the Ninjas…

Cole, Jay, and Zane made their way to the Fire Temple to find Nya, Lloyd, and Sensei Garmadon.

“Sensei? Lloyd? Nya? Are you here?” Cole called out.

“I'm here!” A child's voice called out.

“It's Lloyd!” Cole said. “Just stay whereever you are Lloyd! We're coming!” He reassured.

The three Ninjas ran to find Lloyd, and found him a bit…

Stuck…

Hanging on a sign by his green hoodie, was Lloyd.

“Lloyd? Are you ok?” Cole asked.

“Other than the fact that I tried to free myself, and ended up being hung up like this? Then yeah, everything's peachy.” Lloyd dryly commented.

Needless to say, Lloyd's comment made Jay chuckle a bit.

“Do… Do you…Do you need any help?” Jay asked as he tried to contain his laughter.

“Jay, if you laugh. I'm telling dad what you nearly did to his teapot collection.” Lloyd threatened.

After that, Jay stopped chuckling as he looked at Lloyd's glare.

“Anyways, can you get me down?” He asked.

“I'll help.” Cole said as he got Lloyd down.

“Thanks Cole.” Lloyd said as he hugged the Black Ninja.

“Lloyd, we're searching for Sensei and Nya. Do you know where they are?” Jay asked.

“No, I don't know where they went.” Lloyd responded.

“I think I know…” Zane stated. “The Sword of Fire was here, as well our friends, but I only sense loss. We are too late.”

“Too… late?” Lloyd asked with worry. “You mean my uncle's going to win?” He asked.

“I'm afraid so Lloyd.” Zane responded. “The Golden Weapons have left this realm and are now in the Underworld.” He explained.

“You mean the place where we can't go at all?” Jay asked.

“No… but I know who can!” A familiar voice said.

That is when everyone soon saw Nya and her brother Kai, riding on the back of the red dragon.

And Cole immediately hid behind a pillar.

“Nya! And her brother who I barely know!” Lloyd said.

“…My name's Kai, kid.” Kai introduced himself. “But anyways… these dragons can help us! Our dad always tells us stories about how these dragons were mythical creatures that belong to both worlds and ferried between them.” He explained.

“Are… Are you insane?” Cole asked in fear.

“Once he realized we were trying to protect the Sword of Fire, he wanted to help us!” Nya responded.

“These guys are nothing but just huge softies!” Kai added.

That is when the red dragon looked at Kai with a smirk.

“Knock it off.” Kai mumbled.

“Hey Kai!” Jay shouted to get the Red Ninja's brother's attention.

“What is it?” Kai asked.

“My name is Jay!” The Blue Ninja introduced himself. “I have to ask, does your sister like blue?” Jay asked.

“She does, why do you want to know that?” Kai asked.

“I'll explain it when I get back!” Nya said as Kai got off.

“Please come back in one piece!” Kai begged.

“I promise I'll be alright.” Nya reassured.

“I'll keep a candle lit outside our shop until you return.” Kai said.

After that, Jay and Zane immediately got onto the red dragon.

“You guys go on ahead. There's not enough room for all of us on that... thing.” Cole said as he walked away.

“Actually, I got a better idea…” Nya thought of.

A while later…

All of the Ninjas were riding on the backs of each of the dragons. Each corresponding to their elemental powers.

Cole was riding the dragon that guarded the Scythe of Quakes, albeit a bit awkwardly… since he is afraid of dragons.

Jay was riding the dragon that guarded the Nunchucks of Lightning, and was enjoying it as he could.

Zane was riding the dragon that guarded the Shurikens of Ice… normally.

And leading them was Nya, who was riding the dragon that guarded the Sword of Fire. Leading them to the Underworld.

“So… how do these dragons cross over to the Underworld?” Cole asked.

“I guess we'll find out!” Nya said.

And soon, all of the dragons entered the Underworld in a similar fashion to that of Spinjitzu… fully crossed over to the Underworld.

“Is it over?” Cole asked as he kept his eyes shut.

“Hardly! I hope these dragons know what they're doing!” Nya responded as the dragons increased their acceleration.

“They're speeding up! Hold on!” Jay said.

And after landing, the Ninjas arrived at the Underworld.

“Solid ground. We made it!” Cole said, glad that he no longer had to ride on a dragon.

As all of the Ninjas got off of their dragons… they saw what the Underworld looked like, as it was filled with floating islands. And Zane took notice of one of the islands, having an ominous building.

“Sensei's inside there.” Zane said.

“And they're expecting us…” Nya whispered.

On the island with the building…

“Hold it!” Kruncha said as he stopped a Skulkin, pulling a cart. “No one gets through without inspection.” He said.

“NINJA SEARCH!” Nuckal shouted as he jumped in to see what was inside…

And after a while…

“All clear! You may pass.” Nuckal said, unaware that he basically emptied the entire cart. Much to Kruncha's annoyance.

Back with the Ninjas…

They were trying to sneak in by hopping from stalagmite to stalagmite. However, Nya nearly lost her footing, resulting in one stalagmite to lose a small tip of it, hitting one of the Skulkin on the head.

After that, they all jumped to another stalagmite…

…

…

…

…

…

…actually it was a spider instead.

And they all freaked out and immediately lost their grip…

And were also noticed by the Skulkin.

“Uh Kruncha…? If there are more than one ninja, is it 'Ninja' or 'Ninjas'?” Nuckal asked.

“Both are fine.” Kruncha responded.

“Ok, if that's the case then NINJAS!!!!!” Nuckal yelled as he pointed to the Ninjas, which caught the attention of the Skulkin.

And with that, the Ninjas were surrounded.

“I count ten boneheads to every one of us. I think I like these odds…” Cole said.

However, various spiders like the one they fell from began to descend.

“…is what I would say if we aren't screwed!” Cole immediately added.

“Uh-oh. Anyone got any bright ideas?!” Nya asked.

Meanwhile with Garmadon…

He had reached the base level of the building… and came face to face with his brother Wu.

“Brother.” Lord Wu chuckled as he was sitting in his throne.

“Brother.” Garmadon coldly said as he revealed the Sword of Fire.

“Seize the sword!” Lord Wu ordered, as many Skulkin arrived.

“Ninja, GO!!!” Garmadon shouted as he used Spinjitzu to attack the Skulkin. “You'll have to take it from me!” He boasted.

“With pleasure…” Samukai said as he entered in the ring, with three of the four Golden Weapons in his hands.

“Teach him a lesson.” Lord Wu told the Skulkin King.

Back with the Ninjas…

The Skulkin and spiders were getting closer to the Ninjas…

“Any ideas? I'm still all ears!” Nya said as she tried to slice a warrior.

That is when Jay had an idea.

“What if we did the Tornado of Creation?” He asked as he swung his nunchucks at another warrior.

“That can work.” Cole said as he swung hos scythe. “But it could lead to disastrous consequences!” He added.

“But we're about to have a disastrous consequence!” Nya replied.

“She's right.” Zane responded. “We have no choice.” He explained.

“Ok… here it goes…” Cole said as he prepared himself.

And with that, each of the Ninjas performed Spinjitzu…

“EARTH!”

“FIRE!”

“ICE!”

“LIGHTNING!”

And soon, all four tornadoes of Spinjitzu were made.

And soon… the Ninjas shouted in unison…

“NINJA… GO!!!”

And with that, the four tornadoes combined into one large tornado, that sucked up all of the Skulkin and spiders… and turned them all into a ferris wheel.

“Come on! There's no time to waste!” Nya said as she and the others Ninjas ran to find Sensei Garmadon.

A moment later…

The four ninjas saw Garmadon fighting against Samukai.

But as the Ninjas approached to help, Nya stopped them.

“Guys. This is Sensei's fight.” She said.

And despite it being Garmadon's fight, he didn't manage to win. As he blasted flames to attack Samukai, but missed…

Resulting in Samukai to use the Shurikens of Ice to freeze the sword, the Scythe of Quakes to split the ground, and the nunchucks to disarm Wu.

And as Samukai approached the sword, Garmadon was worried.

“Bring me the Four Weapons!” Lord Wu ordered.

But as Samukai picked up the sword… he changed… and not for the best.

“No! You will obey me now!” He said as he faced Lord Wu.

However, Lord Wu just laughed at his face, as Samukai couldn't control the weapons anymore.

That is when Garmadon jumped to his students' side.

“No one can handle all of their power at once.” Garmadon instructed.

“Selfish fool.” Lord Wu said as he pointed to Samukai. “Did you think I wouldn't plan on your betrayal?” He asked.

“What's happening to me?!” Samukai asked as he began to feel his body twitching.

“You've fallen right into my master plan. Not even I can handle all of their power! But now that they're combined, it'll create a vortex through space and time, allowing me to finally escape this ghastly place!” Lord Wu explained.

And soon, Samukai's body began to spin around, resulting in him to explode!

And in his place… was a large portal that appeared behind Lord Wu.

“Father would not want you to do this, Brother.” Garmadon stated.

“Father is no longer here!” Lord Wu responded. “Good and evil, there has always been a balance. Where I go, the balance can be destroyed. Soon I will be strong enough to possess the Four Weapons, so I can recreate the world in my image!” He explained. And with that, he entered the portal… and escaped the Underworld…

And with that…

Lord Wu… was gone.

After that, the four Ninjas approached the four weapons.

“He's… he's gone.” Cole spoke.

“He may be gone, but he will return.” Garmadon stated.

“Then we'll be ready for him.” Nya stated as she picked up the Sword of Fire.

“And keep an eye out in case he has any more of his evil plans.” Cole said as he picked up the Scythe of Quakes.

“And when he attacks…” Jay said as he picked up the Nunchucks of Lightning.

“We'll defeat him.” Zane said as he picked up the Shurikens of Ice.

“Then I have done my part. The balance has been restored... for now.” Garmadon said.

Back at Kai and Nya's shop…

Kai saw Nya and her friends arriving at the shop, and sees his sister running towards him in excitement.

“Nya!” Kai said as his sister hugged him.

“Hey, my turn!” Jay said as he hugged Kai.

Everyone saw the ninjas celebrating, and decided to cheer for them in excitement, as they celebrated their victory.

“I'm so happy you're back.” Kai said as he nearly shed a tear from his eye.

“For now...but it's not over.” Nya said.

“Yeah… Lord Wu will return soon.” Cole explained, causing the citizens to worry. “And we'll be ready for him.” He explained.

“Yeah!” Jay said as he and the Ninjas high fived themselves with their Golden Weapons, causing a massive shockwave, that caused everyone to bounce back.

“Okay, we gotta remember not to do that again.” Nya said.

“Good idea.” Cole said as he groaned in pain.

“Yeah, we'll stick to high-fives instead.” Jay suggested.

“Agreed.” Zane responded.

Everyone immediately laughs.

“Was that a joke?” The White Ninja asked.

Whatever it was, it was a story that would set the fate for four heroes…

Nya Smith the Red Ninja, Master of Fire…

Jay Gordon the Blue Ninja, Master of Lightning…

Cole Bucket the Black Ninja, Master of Earth…

And Zane Julien the White Ninja, Master of Ice…

These four Ninjas will be known as the heroes of Ninjago…
