Chapter Text
Rev had quickly gotten over his world view being crushed less than a month ago, at least on the outside. Told by Bella, the witch that he was forced to partner with in Beginner’s Alchemy, that he was never really human, that he was just some undead similar to those he summoned.
To be honest, it pissed him off more than the stupid wendigo killing him moments before, and now he questions everything he ever did.
There was no time Rev remembers him potentially dying, but he had to have died at some point, but why doesn’t he remember. At what age did he die at, or was it so traumatic he just doesn’t remember?
Adding onto that, does that mean his parents brought him back, or is he even his parents' kid or just some corpse they found off the street and decided to make their kid? Every question spiralled into some type of loathing, of his situation, the knowledge, even himself.
Today was different, the questions haunted and reared their ugly heads. Staring at himself in the mirror brushing his teeth to get ready to sleep for the night, Rev decided just needed a breather, some quiet. As he was attempting to leave his dorm room, an annoying familiar voice spoke from out of the coffin on the other side of the room. “Rev, where are you going this late?” Peaking out, was Mark Dracula, smiling getting out of the coffin appearing to want to follow. Rev sighed, barely acknowledging his roommate, “Out.”
As quickly as the interaction began, Rev forcefully ended it by slamming the door behind him, narrowly avoiding the barrage of questions about to come from Mark. Walking through the halls of the dorms was strangely quiet. Not a soul made a peep which was unusual as the dorms were loud and obnoxious during the day. The only noise made through the halls were the harsh footsteps from Rev stomping down. Walking for about ten minutes, Rev finally made it to where he wanted to be, the graveyard.
Graveyards were a place of comfort for Rev; though at this point he wasn’t sure why. He always thought of it due to his necromancy, somewhere he felt powerful. Now though, maybe it was because this is where he was found, and his parents decided to revive him, a kinship with the location. “I came out here to stop thinking about this.”
Rev quietly muttered to himself. Sitting himself next to a grave of a random student, he thought back to when he was last here, forced to chase the people he revived due to the stupid wendigo giving them his amulet. It soured his mood more than his questions, whenever that wendigo came up in conversation, Rev would snap at his friends.
The worst part was that it seemed everyone else, except for Sera, somewhat got along with her, even if the wendigo had her own unique way of expressing it.

Wendy was having a great sleep, until there was loud knocking on her door. Wendy turned to the door to see Bella Donna, her roommate, already at the door opening it. Barely able to see who it was, Wendy got up to look as well. Of course her roommate already being head over heels for her rival, was not enough as his weird happy friend was at the door.
“Hey, Bella can you help me look for Rev, he just left our room saying he was going ‘out’ and I don’t really know what that means.” Bella looked at Mark with a tired look.. “Sorry Mark, I have to get some sleep, I have a test tomorrow.” Wendy was about to go back to sleep as well, but the vampire said something absolutely dumbfounding. “Hey Wendy! Can you help me, I know wendigos are pretty active during the night.”
Fangface… wanted her help? “Huh?! Why do you want me to help? It's not like I have any reason too, especially since it's Zombie Boy we are talking about.” Mark stared at her confused due to her response. “Well, you are pretty fast and practically have a Rev Radar!”
Wendy, put simply, was offended at the idea of having a ‘Rev Radar,’ the concept first sounded horrible, but as she thought about it more, maybe being able to find Zombie Boy more, so she can prank him and make his life hell may not be that bad.
However despite that, the request at hand had quite the easy answer. “No.” Simple, sweet, and honest, the perfect answer for this stupid request.
Bella looked at Wendy and whispered, “I make one of any type of potion you want first thing tomorrow if you help find Rev.” Wendy relented, totally not because of a prank idea that immediately came to mind to get back at Zombie Boy, but because the goodness out of her heart. “Fine, just let me get changed into something that isn’t my pajamas.”
Wendy was surprised with herself, usually she tried to avoid Zombie Boy, unless she had an idea to make fun of him, but now she was helping his friend find him because he got lost like a puppy. In the center courtyard Fangface tapped her on the shoulder. “Wendy, how about we split up? I search through the right side of the campus, and you search the left side.”
Before she could respond, Mark sprinted off, faster than she would be able to at full speed. Wendy thought of where a zombie would go if they wanted a break for some peace and quiet, and immediately the graveyard came to mind.
Of course, as the vampire phrased, her ‘Rev Radar’ was right and she found Zombie Boy, sitting next to a grave staring off into the distant forest. It was perfect, he had his back to her, completely unaware, she could finally get back at him for everything he did. Each step taken, the thought of scaring him got more and more exciting. Wendy was right behind him, staring down at him, and she noticed something strange. Zombie Boy was asleep, peacefully.

Wendy was completely unaware that the zombie could be at peace. It was disturbing to look at, and she wished to scrub that thought from her mind. Ripping the gravestone out of the ground, and preparing to throw it at the sleeping revenant.
She tossed it with all her might smashing into his side causing him to wake up yelling in pain. “Ha! Wake up Zombie Boy!” Rev, standing up after recovering after being hit with an entire slab of concrete. “What the hell Wendigo!?” Rev shouted at the wendigo, who had a cruel smile, while he held onto his side with blue blood dripping onto the ground.
Rev stared at the injury as it began healing itself as if it were never there. Another stab into his sense of self that wouldn’t be able to be recovered unlike his body.
“I’ll kill you for that!” Rev quickly grabbed a notebook sized arcane focus, his mom’s old spellbook that was given to him on his fourth birthday. In the process of casting a spell, Rev’s arms were restrained to his side. “Buddy! This is where you have been for the past two hours.”
Mark appeared from the shadows grabbing Rev surprising him and Wendy. “When did you get here, Fangface?” The wendigo said dropping her guard as the spell was uncasted and Rev reverted back to screaming at Mark; his natural state. “Oh, I got here right after Rev threatened to kill you.”
Smiling, the vampire began walking off with the revenant violently moving in his arms, turning “Thanks for helping me find Rev, Wendy, I owe you one for sure.”
“YOU GOT HER TO HELP YOU FIND ME!?” Rev shouted right into Mark’s ears, however at this point Mark was used to his loud voice. “Yup, I asked Bella too, but she couldn’t.” Wendy began walking off to the girl’s dorm “I will call in my favor later, Bella already promised me something for helping her boyfriend.”
As Rev was getting dragged back to the campus, he turned to Wendy yelling. “STOP SAYING THAT WITCH AND I ARE DATING STUPID WENDIGO!” The wendigo rolled her eyes ignoring his yelling, while she and Bella weren’t particularly close, they were still roommates and have had SOME good moments, though few are far between. She felt bad for Bella knowing whatever feelings she had towards Rev were one-sided.

‘Stupid vampire, stupid wendigo, stupid witch, stupid school, stupid graveyard, stupid body, stupid immortality, STUPID EVERYTHING.’ Rev’s thoughts were rapidly considering everything that sucked in his life, which at this moment was a lot. The peace and quiet he had was limited, a mere two hours and he still fell down into the horrible thoughts for the first hour. Worst of all, the vampire was still carrying him, luckily it was so late that no one was awake to see.
“Put me down, Vampire.” Rev said, while trying to pry himself out of the arms of the idiot. “Okay, but you have to promise you won’t just run off, I’ll be honest I was kinda worried.” Mark stroked the back of his head nervously, which threw Rev off, that the vampire was worried. “I know how to handle myself, are you looking down on me?” Rev was practically on the verge of shouting, but this would be a bad position to get caught in, so he will hold it in for now.
The vampire finally dropped him, causing him to speed walk back to the dorm. Mark tailed him with a few feet in between them. “Rev, wait! Can we talk before you go to sleep? It is kind of important.” Rev wanted to slam his head against the dorm wall, first he had to deal with getting hit by an ENTIRE gravestone, which he now just processed; how strong was that wendigo anyway?
Back to the point, he then was grabbed by his roommate which was incredibly demeaning, and now that same roommate wants to talk about feelings. Ignoring him, he just tried to go back to the dorm, it was midnight and classes started at 8 AM, so he at least wanted to have thirty minutes to get ready. “Come on buddy! I really need to talk to you about this.”
As the duo entered the dorm room, Rev immediately went to his bed and face planted into the cushions. “So, Rev, how has your three weeks at Kincaid been?” The vampire asked as he got into his coffin and stared at the ceiling. “Horrible, and made worse with your talking.” Rev hadn’t given up on escaping yet, but he was quickly running out of ideas to break out.
“Oh sorry buddy, I know that I may seem a bit… dumb, but I can see that something is on your mind, do you want to talk about it?” Now that idiotic vampire sees something that Rev was trying to hide so desperately, his doubts and fear of what he is. “Shut up, I am trying to sleep, Vampire.” Rev covered his ears with his hand and attempted to drift into a slumber.
