Chapter Text

I am not insane, I am not insane, I am NOT insane..! But the voices are getting louder. A constant ache in the back of my head. I’ve tried hundreds of different medicines. Whenever the slightest bit of guilt or sadness sinks in the ache gets worse, it almost feels like something's splitting apart from my head. I can't take it anymore.

Marie lies in her bed, unconscious, a green small flask lay on her curled up hand. A man and a woman walk into the room. Juliet and Hareld. They both carry flashlights and note books, their hands are gloved.
“Who reported this again?”
the man said, almost casually. He takes a few steps over to the closed blinds of the room, feeling the fabric as he tugs them open.
“Our team couldn’t figure it out. The voice was male and broken. It only told us an address and asked for help.” the woman replied quietly. She had picked up the flask and shined her flashlight into the remaining green fluid in it.
“Hareld, come here.”
Herald steps to her side, crouching down to get a good look at the flask.
“What is it?”
“some sort of poison, I think.”

There was silence for a while. The two were just looking around the room. Juliet’s focus kept drifting back to the flask. They had tucked it into a plastic bag along with a few other things. Including four different medicine bottles, each a different prescription. Herald eventually left, claiming they should get some rest and talk about this tomorrow.

It was well past midnight, Juliet was still there, she ended up sitting on the bed, staring at the flask. Something about it caught her attention. Maybe it was because of the color? It was such a neon green it shimmered in the dark. Maybe because of the mystery behind it…

I emerge from a crack in the wall. My sticky excuse for a body slides down onto the floor. There were two people in here earlier, so I couldn't start my dinner…. They're gone now, good. She's a lucky girl. Her face isn't etched in infinite pain, she has perfect caramel hands, her skin isn't cracked and still somehow slimy. Lucky…Lucky…Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky! Lucky!! I don't waste much time. I tear into her eyeballs with my disgusting fingers, maybe if I eat hers mine will get better… Maybe if I kill enough people I'll be normal again. I gorge into her face, hollowing it out, once there's enough room I crawl inside. Slowly, I eat. Slowly, I take what should have been mine. I'll have her skin fused with mine. That's the only way we can be together.
