Birthday Headcanons: Pines Twins x Hatsune Miku

Summary:

Dipper thought he found a secret incantation in a bunker—Mabel just thought she found a second sibling and a new best friend. Here are 11 birthday headcanons about journals, leeks, and the bond between two twins and a digital idol diva.

Notes:

Hey everyone!! SO, as stated in both my bio and in this post here, due to a scam, my sideblog, enchantedchocolatebars got deleted and I had to restart (was able to take back the url). Thankfully, all my ao3 works are saved here, but all the links for works that lead to my og blog are now broken, and I'm having a mutual of mine try to find old works with me that I never got the chance to post to ao3. I'll be taking my time to edit those links, as well as post new works on here when I have the chance. Again, I apologize about that, but if you're a reader of mine who still decides to stick around despite this setback, I very much appreciate it. I promise to give it my all with everything I post going forward and not let this stop me from writing. I created a writing sideblog for my writing sideblog, enchantedchocobars, and that blog is thewaifuwhowrites. After posting this, I'll share a Tumblr link to the headcanons. They're already written, by the way. I just need to copy-paste them here and re-read them for mistakes. (Again, sorry guys). I originally had written these headcanons on my old sideblog (gone), but I didn't reblog them to my main, so I've rewritten them from scratch. I made sure that they're just as good as the first version. Enjoy!

Work Text:

• Dipper finds a "lost track" in a hidden bunker that he thinks is an ancient incantation.

He plays it, and instead of a monster, Miku glitches into existence in a swirl of teal pixels.

Once the static clears and the twins learn her name—and the incredible fact that today is her birthday, too—Mabel lets out a squeal that could shatter glass.

She immediately declares Miku her "long-lost triplet bestie" and rushes her back to the Shack to start the ultimate birthday bash.

• Mabel sets out to bake a cake that matches the neon glow of Miku's hair, which unfortunately involves a hazardous amount of crushed-up glowsticks and and a massive drum of "Industrial Sprinkles" she found in the gift shop—the kind clearly labeled "Not for Individual Consumption."

While the glowing masterpiece would likely hospitalize a normal human, Miku's digital stomach handles the pixels and chemicals with ease.

• While Dipper frantically scours the journals for a 'spiritual firewall' to protect Miku's data from Bill Cipher, he accidentally gets sucked into a high-stakes karaoke battle with the dream demon himself.

While Bill is busy screeching out synth-pop hits and Dipper is fighting for his life on the mic, Miku is completely unbothered, teaching Mabel the iconic 'PoPiPo' choreography in the background.

Soos catches the whole absurd showdown on film and uploads it to Neko Neko Doomsday (parody site of Nico Nico Douga) where the 'Glitchy Triangle vs. Pine Tree Hat Kid' battle goes viral overnight.

• Miku gifts the twins a bit of her world by turning Dipper's journal into a self-updating digital archive and giving Mabel a 'rhythm-boosted' knitting kit that moves to the beat.

In return, the twins present her with the ultimate 'Welcome to Gravity Falls' kit: a classic pine tree hat from Dipper and a matching 'Triplet' sweater from Mabel.

• Stan doesn't see a digital idol; he sees a golden opportunity.

He immediately floods the Gift Shop with 'Hatsune Mike' merch, consisting mostly of spray-painted leeks and 'limited edition' plastic figures that look suspiciously like old fishing lures.

After his attempt to hire her as a permanent Shack attraction is shut down by Mabel (who reminds him that even digital triplets deserve a day off), he settles for charging tourists five dollars just to stand in her 'holographic shadow.'

• The birthday bash reaches a fever pitch when Mabel and Miku debut their 'Grappling Hook x Leek' collaboration.

It's a chaotic blend of bubblegum pop, mechanical clanging, and a surprisingly shredding banjo solo from Old Man McGucket.

The sound is so intense that it actually shakes the glass in the Mystery Shack, leaving the local wildlife—and most of the town—completely bewildered.

• Miku uses her digital abilities to gift Mabel the world's first 'Live-Action Sweater'—a knitted masterpiece where the wool itself acts as a high-definition screen, looping Miku's greatest hits in vibrant pixels.

• In return, Mabel presents Miku with a custom-crafted skirt made entirely of hardened glitter-glue and over three hundred friendship bracelets.

It's stiff, it's heavy, and it leaves a trail of sparkles everywhere Miku glitches, but she wears it like it's couture.

• Great Uncle Ford is absolutely captivated by Miku's 'vocal synthesis,' treating her presence like a breakthrough in interdimensional acoustics.

He spends the entire party hovering around her with a multidimensional frequency scanner, trying to measure if her hertz levels correlate with the vibrations of the multiverse.

Meanwhile, Miku is completely preoccupied wondering if the gnomes she saw in the forest could be trained as backup dancers, or if their 'rhythmic shrieking' would clash with her next song.

• In a fit of birthday creativity, Miku transforms the entrance of the Shack into a deadly dance floor.

To enter, you have to follow a complex rhythmic pattern; failing to stay on beat results in the porch physically flinging you off like a mechanical bull.

The yard is currently full of dizzy tourists, leaving Mabel as the undisputed reigning champion of the 'Mystery Step Revolution.'

• With Soos officially out of commission due to an intense case of 'the birthday feels,' Wendy takes over as the designated photographer.

Wendy steps in to capture a final photo of the three 'triplets' together, even as Soos sobs loudly in the background about how 'the digital and physical worlds finally found harmony, man.'

It's the perfect memento for the Shack's most melodic mystery.
