Remembrance - Unfinished

Summary:

Oneshot based on a post by @maskingshadows on TikTok!

Josuke finds an old picture from Jotaro and Joseph’s Stardust Crusader days. He brings it up to Joseph, who does nothing more than tell him the names of a few. Maybe Jotaro wanted to be reminded of his… high school friends?

or: Josuke finds the SC picture (with dead friends) and mentions it to Jotaro.

Notes:

aaaaa! im writing this on my birthday (to be posted well after the fact) but i love this idea sm! while josuke realistically wouldnt know about this trend due to the fact that diu literally takes place in like the late 90s, i still like the idea. again, huuuuge creds to the artist mentioned above for the idea!

** PUBLISHED TO PRESERVE THE DRAFT, WILL BE FINISHED EVENTUALLY **

The Morioh summers were relentlessly boring, especially after Josuke and his friends fought a serial killer lurking in the shadows for years. And now, with him gone, they had nothing to do. So, naturally, he took to scrounging his home, which included one of Jotaro’s coats he had accidentally left, and in turn, that gave Josuke the vast array of items in his gaping pockets.
After digging through what seemed to be absolute nonsense, he uncovered a picture of what appeared to be younger, livelier even, versions of his father and nephew, along with a dog, a guy with a column for hair, a pinkish reddish haired teen with a school uniform he recognized, and a man with a large red coat and interesting earring choice.
At first he laughed out loud at the sight of Jotaro in such dark, moody clothing, especially considering the nearly pure white he now wears around town. But then he noticed Jotaro vaguely smiling behind the teen wearing an old Morioh uniform. He had heard of Jotaro being an especially rude and off-putting person in his younger years from his cousin, Holly, and father, but the photo almost seemed to take that idea and slap it in the face.
So naturally, he brought it up to his mother. She just brushed it off and said that Joseph went on a trip after Josuke was born and those were the people with him. She didn’t know any of them though, so it would be best to ask his father himself. And so he did.
Joseph seemed to not recognize it, as per usual, however he did mention a few of their names. The Morioh teen was Noriaki Kakyoin, and according to Joseph, was Jotaro’s ride or die. The pillar-haired man is Jean Pierre Polnareff, which Josuke almost laughed at, and the earring man was Mohammed Abdul.
Josuke was quick to notice Josephs comment on Kakyoin however, and decided he should maybe bring it up to Jotaro. After all, these were his friends from high school, surely he wanted to remember the trip he had with them.
“Man, I’m so hungry, I could eat Noriaki Kakyoin,” Josuke called to a house containing none other than him and Jotaro. The busy work Jotaro was focused on on the other side of the room suddenly stopped. Josuke just sat quietly as Jotaro slowly faced him. However what Josuke thought would’ve been a nice reminder was quickly turned into a horrific memory.
He watched as Jotaro stared at him with a face contorted with fear, sadness, and anger. Tears formed at the corners of his eyes as he replayed the last memories they had together, before DIO killed him.
“What… what’s wrong? Was it something I said?” He hurriedly said. This was the most emotion he had ever gotten out of Jotaro, so seeing him in such a state of emotional vulnerability took him by surprise.
