Chapter Text
Today, me and Alyssa were supposed to be helping investigate the function of a new relic that had recently arrived at the LCE, however after a certain mishap in where a certain teal fairy knocked over a certain relic in a certain sealed room where two certain researchers who were desperately banging on the door were caught in the science as the aforementioned certain relic activated and brought us to where ever we were.
"Marton can you tell your stupid fairy lure to piss off"
My co-worker Alyssa said as we looked around our surroundings, the fairy seemed to be teasing her, yeah they never got along anyways.
"Woah that's a bit rude Alyssa, I think we should focus on understanding where we are first"
I said very all-knowingly, although for once I did not know.
We walked a bit around the place, it wasn't too bad to be honest. For some reason, when we were teleported here, our EGO gear got swapped out for a lab coat but the fairy lure belonging to my EGO gear was still here for some reason, which was quite odd.
It didn't take long for us to know where we were since there was a huge flashy logo on a wall that I presume was some kind of award wall or something and of course we had to land somewhere that both of us had a reasonably small amount of knowledge on.
"Lobotomy Corporation. As in the Lobotomy corporation was buried like a decade or two ago?"
Alyssa asked with a hint of amusement in her voice.
I remember when the burial happened, apparently lots of abnormalities had breached to the point that if the entire base wasn't buried, the abnormalities would have escaped and caused absolute chaos in the city. Since Lob corp was one of the biggest enkaphlin producers for the city, there were some very very severe energy related issues afterwords.
Alyssa gave me a smirk, "I guess we're in for some trouble eh?"
"… I suppose so" I sighed.
Honestly what are we even going to do in lob corp we don't even know anyone here-
"Hah! You are not getting these back till ya make sure you finish your lunch, Mr. Hohen!"
Hohen? Like Hohenheim? Me and Alyssa turned towards the sound of our boss's name to see a yellow haired figure dressed in black and purple running towards us, the man smiled as he glanced back mischieviously at the researcher with blue hair chasing after him.
"H-hey! I told you not to call me Hohen, its, huu, not even a good nickname much less one suitable for being used in a workplace"
The disheveled researcher said, clearly exhausted from running as though he had never ran in his life. Now that they were coming closer, I could see the familiar round glasses absent from my boss's face while the yellow man waved the glasses around in front of him.
"Nuh- u- AHH!"
Okay so that was my bad, I was too busy observing what ever the fuck was happening to notice that the man tormenting my boss had crashed into me, thankfully with my nonchalance and quick reflexes, I moved aside before I could fall to the floor as the yellow haired man fell face first onto the ground and the round glasses slid across the floor right to where Alyssa was standing, dumbfounded. Hah, another win. Alyssa rolled her eyes.
She picked up the glasses as my boss finally approached us and extended her hand to give him his glasses back with a small smirk on her face, however our boss absolutely unexpectedly, fell on his knees next to the yellow haired man who was still on the floor for some reason.
"Johann, what did I say? Rules were made for a reason, you know as well as I that running carelessly is prohibited during work especially in a place like this however if you managed to learn something from this maybe it was worth the embarassing fall you suffered, now get up"
Hohenheim said as he aggresively shook the man who was called "Johann". Johann suddenly grabbed my boss's wrist and pulled both of them off the ground, also pulling Hohenheim into an embrace as he did so which Hohenheim didn't resist for some reason? What?
"Sooooo, are ya gonna eat your lunch now??"
Johann said with a bright smile, still embracing my boss who hated being touched.
"I'll consider it… Where are my glasses though? Don't tell me you broke them…"
My boss stopped looking at this Johann guy and looked towards Alyssa who had remained frozen, staring at the two of them, hand still outstretched and holding the glasses. Suddenly Hohenheim broke out of the embrace and snatched the glasses back, putting them right back where it belonged.
He used that cool light trick he taught us to manipulate the light and use the glare to cover his eyes.
"You two. What exactly were you doing? Loitering around the corridors when the both of you are supposed to be making better use of the break. Where even are you're task lists? I had made sure to make one for every member of the control team… Meet me at my office after the lunch break, I'll give you new ones."
Hohenheim said with that huge ego of his- I mean with that magnificent aura of authority, however I noticed he seemed a lot less menacing when this golden retriever looking guy was holding his hand.
The both of them soon walked back from the corridor they came from as Alyssa was left dumbfounded and I in profound flabbergastion.
"What the fuck was that…"
Alyssa said in such a way which betrayed her status as researcher.
"Well… Now we know that boss is here"
"Do you think he got caught in the relic activation too?"
"No… I don't think so, he seems too familiar with this place and with someone from here too… Not to mention, he was in his office when the incident occured"
"So this Hohenheim, may actually belong to this place?"
"Mm I suppose so"
