Work Text:
The bedsheets were warm, And kakyoin would cling onto jotaro like an animal would cling onto its pack. He wrapped his body around him and cuddled him, holding him closer every passing second. Jotaro wasn’t asleep, he could feel the teens arms on his back, but he didn’t mind.
“Jotaro…” Kakyoin murmured quietly, “are we friends…?”
“Mhh… mhm..” Jotaro was way too tired to speak, but he didn’t want to leave Kakyoin without an answer to such a question.
“Honest..?” Kakyoins voice had gotten a bit shaky, and Jotaro noticed. “Good grief” he thought to himself…
“Of course im honest, why wouldn’t i be?” The boy held him tighter, he didnt seem to let go any time soon. Jotaro could feel Kakyoins head clinging on his chest, he didnt mind, until the tears started forming up on his shirt. Kakyoin was crying, he’d never seen him crying before, and especially not at times like this.
“You are my second ever friend, jotaro.” He confessed.
Jotaro replied without a thought, “second..? who was your first friend, then?” He didn’t think about how that reply could hurt kakyoin, and he was wrong.
“I- cant tell… im sorry, Jotaro.” Kakyoin cried. He couldn’t bare the thought of telling Jotaro about his first friend, Dio.
“Look, You don’t have to hide anything from me. Do i know this person?” He asked. Kakyoin nodded, still tearing up on his shirt, and it made The tired man worry even more.
“I… don’t know, I don’t know if I can consider him my friend.” He whimpered, “if we are friends, should i bow down for you, jotaro?” Jotaro was terrified of that question, what kind of sane person would ask that?
“Should i worship you? Should i give off my body, Jotaro?” He continued, making Jotaro even more uncomfortable. What kind of ‘friend’ requires doing that?
“Please stop. what are you talking about..?” He finally answered. “Kakyoin, this is… wrong.”
“Im sorry, im so sorry. This is what he told me, ive never had anyone so im sorry if im misunderstanding you-“
‘He’. That word stuck onto him like a piece of gum. “Who is he?” Jotaros tone made the redhead think he was threatened to answer. Kakyoin raised his his head to jotaros face, he could see his tears still forming up, wetting the bedsheets like a puddle.
“I- Flesh… bud, Dio and i. friends-“ he could barley let out a word anymore, Jotaro could feel the realisation striking him all over his body. kakyoins hands were trembling, yet still stuck onto his body, hugging him tight.
“He was never your friend, It wasn’t your choice.” What a godamn monster that man is, Jotaro felt his rage growing faster than ever. “This isn’t friendship kakyoin, its manipulation.” Those words gave the boy such warmth in his chest. Jotaro never showed such affection towards him, actually, no one ever did. Kakyoin could finally stop sobbing. he felt at peace in jotaros arms, unlike Dios.
“I love you, Jotaro. Im glad we are true friends.” Jotaro had finally cuddled him back, he wasn’t a fan of touch, but that boy was an exception.
“Love you too.”
