The sun beamed through the Roblox Headquarters windows, while chatter filled the hallways.
The click of heels and the steps of shoes echoed throughout the building.
"Hey, Bright!"
Brighteyes set the stack of papers she was carrying onto the desk, shuffling through them.
"Yeah, Shed?"
"Builderman got a new hire, said it was a woman, thought you'd be interested."
Brighteyes hummed as she turned to look at Shedletsky.
He was different from the woman he used to be, but the transitioning looked good for him.
"What does she look like?"
"No clue, we'll have to wait and see."
"Do you at least know her name?"
"Jane something..I'm sure Builderman will know."
Brighteyes watched as Shedletsky pulled out his phone and sighed.
She gently snatched the phone from Shedletsky's hand and set it on the desk.
"If you're gonna sit here and talk to me, at least help me with these papers?"
Shedletsky groaned, his wings ruffling with irritation, but he still made his way towards the desk.
Brighteyes handled one stack.
Shedletsky handled the other.
When they were finally done, Shedletsky groaned and put his head against the table.
Brighteyes ruffled his hair and placed his phone beside him.
"Are you tired? Exhausted that I made you do your job?"
The bird mumbled and grabbed his phone while the admin stacked the papers.
"Brighteyes? Oh, Shedletsky."
Both the admins turned to look at Builderman.
"I want you both to meet the new hire."
"Today? That was quick.."
"What do you mean?"
"You told me today we were getting a new hire, right?"
Builderman stared at Shedletsky before placing his hands over his face and sighing.
"I emailed you last week we'd be getting a new hire. I told you today she would be coming."
"Ah.."
"You said you read my email."
Shedletsky laughed nervously and leaned against the desk.
Builderman walked out of the room and faint conversation was heard, until he walked back in with someone trailing behind.
Builderman walked to the side and announced.
"This is Jane Doe, she is our new hire, she'll be testing things for us."
Shedletsky immediately stepped forward, introducing himself and shaking hands, but Brighteyes..
She stood there, dumbfounded.
Oh Telamon, she was gorgeous.
Brighteyes was never one for love at first sight, but her?
"This is Brighteyes! She manages the marketplace!"
Brighteyes snapped out of her thoughts.
Jane gave her a small wave, which Brighteyes immediately reciprocated.
Builderman had begun talking, but Brighteyes wasn't listening, until the two of them eventually walked away.
Brighteyes couldn't believe herself, she had just seen the girl, she never felt this way about Telamon..what was so different about Jane?
Shedletsky nudged her shoulder and gave her a knowing look.
She shoved Shedletsky away out of embarrassment and picked up the stack of papers, evening them out before storming away, face flushed red.

Brighteyes was cleaning up for the night, with a little help from taph.
Even though the demolitionist didn't talk much, it felt good not to be alone.
Taph was sweeping while Brighteyes was wiping down counters.
Brighteyes glanced at her before deciding to make some small talk.
"Hey, Taph, have you met the new hire?"
The demolitionist gave a slight nod.
"She's got quite the looks, yeah?"
Another nod.
Brighteyes hummed before continuing.
"She's gorgeous..but, I don't know, I feel weird. I've never felt this way for someone this quickly, not even Telamon!"
Taph glanced at Brighteyes before setting the broom aside, showing they were listening.
The admin sighed before continuing.
"This surely will just pass..right? Have you ever felt this way?"
Taph shook her head.
Brighteyes sighed.
Of course they haven't.
Brighteyes finished wiping pretty quickly as Taph finished sweeping, and they lock up the Roblox building for the night.
She'll figure out all of these complicated emotions eventually.
