Vicki lays across the couch, mindlessly eating a bag of popcorn as she watches whatever reality show she landed on. Roger had left hours ago, and with the house clean she didn't have much to entertain herself with. Her hair is mussed and her tanktop is riding up her belly, but she doesn't mind it.
She perks up when she hears the front door open, sitting up and watching as Roger walks in holding a large white box. She doesn't notice the holes as he says-
“I've got a surprise!”
He sounds excited, or at least as close as he can get.
“Ooo! What'd you get?”
He walks over and she shuffles, making space for him to sit next to her on the couch. It's only then when she notices the holes on the box.
“You didn't-”
“Now, don't get too excited…”
He says playfully as he opens the lid of the box. A head pops out, a small Jack Russell puppy barking excitedly.
“Oh my god!”
She squeals excitedly, a bit louder than she meant to.
“Oh Roger, he's adorable!”
She picks him up out of the box, holding him close to her chest as he barks and licks her face, squirming in her arms.
“You had uh…mentioned a dog. Y'know, all that time ago. Thought I'd make that dream come true.”
She smiles at him, and he grins back, chuckling as she scratches behind the dog's ears.
“Got any name ideas?”
She asks, and Roger pretends to think for a moment.
“I was thinkin’ Pierce.”
“Hmmm…”
She hums, and after a couple seconds of staring at the puppy she nods.
“I like that. How'd you think of it?”
“Second best Bond. Y'know, after Moore.”
She snorts, rolling her eyes as she says-
“I shoulda known.”
“No takebacks.”
Vicki giggles, leaning up to kiss him, only breaking away after a couple seconds.
“Thank you, Roger. Really.”
“Anything for you, Victoria.”
She blushes a bit, loving when he says her full name. He's the only one who does, and it's rare, but that just makes it feel better when he does.
