He's so pretty, like an angel, his beauty is down-to-earth, nothing could ever compare to his. The way his eyes shines when the rays of the sun hits his face, the way his face glistens under the sun's grace, the way his hair flow when the wind blows at him. How can someone be this perfect? Did the Gods sent him down so that we can admire his beautiful creation.
“Dude, you gotta stop staring. Joshua might melt, you know.” Mingyu nudged Seokmin that sent him back to his senses. He saw his friend's teasing expression, he rolled his eyes and brushed his friend away. “Mind your business.” Mingyu find his friend's response amusing, so he continued teasing him.
As Seokmin was walking to the hallway he unexpectedly heard some voices talking about Joshua—his crush of 2 years, the person he likes the most. He didn't mean to eavesdrop, but he did listen to some of the conversation. “Oh, so you like someone with glasses that gives off nerdy vibes huh. Kinda kinky, Josh.” Then they laughed at eachother, Joshua was seen blushing slightly, because of that he gained more teasing from his friends. Seokmin hearing Joshua's ideal sparked some ideas inside his head. He will try his best to be the person that Joshua likes.
So he did. Everytime he heard Joshua's friends having conversations in the hallway, he will took notes of what Joshua likes. Whether it's foods, clothes, hobbies, and ideal type—he will write it all down. He continued doing this for 2 weeks as he slowly changed himself into the person Joshua likes. Sometimes he will bring foods in Joshua's desk—that Joshua craved for, he mentioned this to his friends the other day.
His friend Mingyu noticed the sudden changes of his friend, he's not the energetic person he always have been. He's more composed and refined, Seokmin is everything but refined, this Mingyu question this sudden changes. “Bro why are you acting so weird.” Mingyu asked casually while they're doing some homework at Mingyu's room. Seokmin froze in his position, he didn't expect Mingyu to ask this kind of question to him.
“What do you mean? I'm totally okay.” He replied, but it's plastered on Mingyu's expression that he isn't convinced by his friend's statement. “Bro, whatever you're doing, you better stop before it's too late for you.” Seokmin didn't mind his friend at all, he just focused on doing his homework. Seeing this, Mingyu shook his head and sighed. In Seokmin's mind—this is the right thing to do, that doing it in this way is the best way to do it. He's too deep into this, turning his back now is just giving up, and he doesn't wanna give up.
He continued this for months, when he finally had the courage to confess his feelings to Joshua, all that was given to him is: “Sorry, I don't want to be with a creep.” And with that—all his sacrifices, changes, and efforts were turned into ashes.
He wondered:
“If I could've just been true to myself, would he like me then?”
“What a joke.”
“I'm just a creep, a weirdo.”
“I don't belong here.”
