Work Text:
Ryan had woken up before his boys and made breakfast for them as was tradition since it was his day off and he worked the stupid fucking kettle to heat water to Gavin and Ray’s liking for tea. He spread strawberry jam over the toast and laid the two pieces neatly against the scrambled (or over easy, if it was Geoff’s plate) eggs and by the time he’d put the plates on the table Jack was up and ready to go.
"Thanks Ryan," Jack said giving Ryan a quick peck on the cheek and sitting down at the table. Ryan smiled and the warm feeling in his chest fluttered to life as it did most every time he was around his boys.
"Did you wake Michael up," Ryan asked moving back into the kitchen to finish making his own breakfast.
"Yeah," Jack said after swallowing some eggs, "and he hauled Gavin with him into the shower."
"Was that the screaming this morning," Ryan said thinking back to the high pitched string of curses that had escaped their bedroom. Jack hummed in positive way before picking at his toast. Ryan sat down and joined Jack in eating breakfast and by the time he’d finished his first piece of toast both Michael and Gavin appeared, followed shortly by Ray, who looked pristine. He must have showered with the other lads in their new, by far big enough to fit twelve of him, shower.
"Geoff’s awake," Ray said jumping right into his breakfast while Gavin grabbed himself and Ray some tea.
"The fuck I am," Geoff called from down the hallway and then appeared, scruffy but still adorable, in the dinning room to have breakfast with the rest of the lot.
Ryan smiled watching his boys as he ate and listened to what they had planned for the day. Soon the moment of “just his boys” was gone and they were up and about again, searching for keys and wallets and Ryan listened to them go. He stayed sitting at the table and just took in the memory of their smiling faces; he didn’t care how sentimental it was, these were his partners and he could bask in their afterglow if he wanted.
He was broken from his trance when a pair of soft, just licked lips pressed a kiss into his cheek. he turned to see Gavin smiling at him. “You silly sausage,” Gavin said affectionately. Ryan swatted at him but stood and collected the plates. “Geoff sent me back in to make sure you were gonna be at Coral around dinner time,” Gavin said.
Ryan shook his head. “Unlike you Gav,” Ryan teased, “I don’t have strokes every five minutes.”
"I’ll let him know," Gavin said and Ryan ushered him off, back out the door to the rest of his boys. He had a lot to get done before his quiet time and then he had to be ready for dinner with his partners.
