   A set of two, part of fun fanwork collaboration: the brilliant
   Ready for Love, a post-canon F/M/M fic that is as joyful and effervescent as Singin' in the Rain itself, and the podfic of it, which uses the melody I wrote to one of the first fic's songs.

   This fic haunts me because the tags say that the author was too embarrassed to get a beta, and yet it's so good? It's a modern ASOIAF AU that works partly as a mystery, and partly as a look at the (imagined) antiques world, and most as a vivid, poignant (and eventually steamy) romance. I love it.

   Persona 5 - This account's tweets are protected.
   This is the funniest fanfiction I have ever read, ever, in my life. Requires some understanding of how twitter works/twitter fandom culture to fully parse but it is genuinely so good

   Pokemon - Operation GEAR: The Gardener of Gratitude
   If you're like me and you grew up with Pokemon movies, you are going to love this fic. It's a big time investment (look at that wordcount!!) but I promise you it's worth every minute. One of the best-crafted Pokemon fics I've ever read. It's mature without being edgy, and heartfelt without being too saccharine. seriously it's so good why are you still reading my comment open it read it

   Final Fantasy XIV - rooks and roses

   Instead of recommending specific works, I’m going to offer up some authors whose work I especially enjoy. I should note that all of these are fandom blind friendly:

   -anything by Plonq is a must. They write for “My Little Pony,” “Bolt,” and “Transformers,” as well as original furry-based stories featuring a recurring cast of characters. Their writing is impeccable, full of style and a wry sense of humor.

   -the “Bolt” stories by PenNameSmith. They are the long-time gold standard in this fandom, beautifully observed and written, loaded with warmth and heart. They also write in other fandoms, but I know their Bolt stories best.

   -anything by irishredhead667. Most everything they write is for the obscure British TV show “Kingdom” with a few fics for the ‘60s western “Gunsmoke,” and they’re one of the finest writers I’ve read, very consistent and loaded with personality.

   -stories by Charles_Rockafellor. Very prolific, writes for numerous fandoms including many involving crossovers and a fair bit of original fiction. Their stuff is consistently intriguing and enjoyable, with a decided eccentric streak and a love of art and culture references. I most like their crossover fics that present Sonic, Ruru, Tails, Zelda, Princess Peach, and Amy Wong as a merry band of rogues, but their stuff is well worth exploring.

    2) “Aspicio et Fio (Gotham's Archivist)” by Bluejay_Leaf / The Magnus Archives/Batman / summary: After digging their way out of some poor kid’s grave, Jonathan Sims and Alice “Daisy” Tonner find themselves stranded in an American city they’ve never heard of, and must learn to navigate an entirely new world. They soon discover that Gotham has its own mysteries to uncover, all seeming to circle around a group of vigilante heroes known as the Bats.
    Meanwhile, the friends they left behind pick up the pieces, and uncover terrible secrets that were never meant to be known. Or: Jon and Daisy’s guide to making friends, accidentally joining a gang, and fixing other people’s familial dysfunction. /

    TENS WORKS I REC...

    paltry as those lives are is a distilled dose of poignant tragedy; two people finding each other amid the wreckage of everything, growing something small, ephemeral, and beautiful within it that could never have existed outside of that tragedy, and then... it ends, and not sharp and cleanly. I don't think you need to know the canon at all to appreciate it; it's based on an AU from a fanmade music video and everything going on can be understood quite well from the storytelling. Dire. Painful. Great.

    Accursed Ones is the longfic dark romance epic I dream of creating something a fraction as good as it is. It's a labor of passion and shows it, and is full of tremulous joys, hideous lows, and some absolutely excellent world building work. There's a whole other romance other than the main ship midway through after you spend a while with the main ship, and the story is SO MUCH STRONGER FOR IT and so scary. So many scary things happen. I remember yelping out loud many times at Events.

    Small comforts is was, always will be the Tsukihime fic I always wanted. A brief flicker of a thing in the long storm that is the lives of Kohaku and Tohno Akiha. the OG toxic yuri of my heart.

    Imaginary Perks is just an utter blast. The two leads are extremely established competent adults aware of the extreme amounts of red flags they are rolled in like delicious burritos and are charging gayly forward into making shit work for them amid... uh... my god, the circumstances. I cheer out loud any time I see there is more Imaginary Perks.

    Licking At The Gun is scorching hot, and also, a complete conflagration even outside of the sex. As much doomed Yuri as a yaoi can possibly get. Yee...haw....

    Gravitational Pull is a delightful series with REALLY COOL world building to fill some of my favorite shiny spots canon leaves open for it and also some really hot usage of omegaverse elements. We love omegaverse in this house.

    Life is (not) a Hallmark Movie is. I mean. it's hallmark fic. I read it every year now for Xmas Season because the memories of following it chapter by chapter were so delightful, and also, what a charming and deranged vision of the cast. you really can't go wrong with whatever the fuck continues to be wrong with bingqiu, in each and every universe.

    make sure i die first is a fic where the main couple have, I cannot stress this enough, one of the most interesting sex lives i may have ever witnessed? what an incredible take on genderbending exactly one character. it is so romantic. my goodness.

    so you've finally read the zhuzhi-lang extra? is a collection, but it is all one long meditation, To Me. corduroyserpent is the Name Brand Good Zhuzhi-lang Content. this snakeboy is so tragic and so cute and I want to gnash my teeth, my god.

    finally, pluck the stars is just. a story I think of ages later and have spent the time whilst composing this list furiously search filtering to try and find again. the first time I saw someone ficbind was this fic and I was immediately like, oh yeah, absolutely, that IS a story one would want to find in paper beneath their fingers for always.
